    A baby was in the Onsen, please check.

    I saw a baby around 8 to 10 months old, who was not yet potty-trained, being held by their mother while entering the Onsen. (After leaving the bath, the baby was put back into a diaper.) Above the valuables locker, there is a sign stating that children under 5 years old are prohibited from bathing. However, when I asked two foreign staff members about this rule, they said that babies are allowed to bathe. Around USJ (Universal Studios Japan), there are hotels with Onsen facilities. These accommodations often host families with babies; however, babies who are not potty-trained are strictly prohibited from bathing in such facilities. The reason is that babies cannot control their bowel movements and may contaminate the water. Additionally, it’s unclear whether their diapered area has been properly cleaned with soap beforehand. For these reasons, most Onsens or large public baths at theme park hotels like those near USJ generally prohibit children under 5 years old from entering. Since your staff mentioned that it’s okay for babies to bathe now, I’m unsure if your policy has changed recently without notice. However, in the changing room area, I overheard other guests expressing surprise and saying things like “Oh no! There’s a baby here.” If you have decided to allow diaper-wearing children to use the bath facilities now as part of your policy change, then I suggest removing or updating the message above the valuables locker stating that children under 5 years old are not allowed to avoid confusion among guests.

    Breakfast Buffet

    The breakfast buffet with unlimited sparkling wine was delightful and uplifting. The staff were very friendly, making our stay enjoyable. However, I was looking forward to having breakfast on the terrace, but there was a waitlist of 18 groups. We were directed to the 3rd floor, only to wait again for a while. With small children and other guests moving together in a group, it felt somewhat inconvenient. It would be great if a more efficient system could be considered.

    Buffet Dressings

    One of the dressings at the buffet contained peanuts, which was clearly labeled. This caused concern for families with peanut allergies. The counter where the dressings were placed was dirty with spilled dressing, and as guests placed their trays on this surface to add salad dressing, the underside of their trays became stained with dressing. Guests then carried these trays around the buffet area in this condition. Families dealing with peanut allergies avoided placing their trays on the counter to prevent potential contamination and instead carried their trays while selecting food, which required extra effort. Although we informed staff about this issue on the first day, no changes were made by the second day. Additionally, it was mentioned that allergy information for non-buffet à la carte items could not be provided immediately.

    I feel refreshed!

    The room was spacious, and the bath exceeded expectations! The night view from the club floor was beautiful. The breakfast had a wide variety, was delicious, and left us full in the morning. The Onsen and tasty breakfast provided a great refreshment. I would love to stay again.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I visited after a few months. Since my purpose was to relax at the Hotel, I was delighted with the well-stocked amenities like face masks. The drinks available after enjoying the Onsen on the spa floor were a treat for both children and adults. The buffet was also delicious.

    Luxury with excellent cost performance.

    This time, I stayed in a room with access to the club lounge. The view from the high floor was amazing, and the room's amenities and spaciousness were excellent. Although the lounge was crowded, thoughtful arrangements allowed us to wait comfortably in our room. Every visit is a delight with the exceptional Onsen experience, truly delicious meals from morning onwards, and satisfaction guaranteed in every aspect of this Hotel. The breakfast staff's courteous service is commendable. The cost performance is astonishing given the high quality offered. I will continue to use this Hotel in the future—thank you very much!

    New Discoveries

    My son's family lives in Kobe, and I often visit them, but this was my first time staying at the Sheraton. The first thing that surprised me was the Onsen. It had a full-fledged spa with a sauna, which made me very happy as a sauna enthusiast. Later, I learned it is quite famous—I should have researched better beforehand! It was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast buffet was also of high quality and very satisfying. Early in the morning, sparkling wine was served, which added to the enjoyment. It felt like excellent value for money. Access to the Osaka Kansai Expo was convenient, and I could reach the venue without much crowding. I would definitely make this my first choice for accommodation when staying in Kobe again.

    Front Desk!

    Is everything alright? We informed in advance by phone that we have an elementary school child, and as a Marriott member, Child Sharing Existing Bedding would be free of charge! However, upon check-in, we were told that an extra bed was prepared and it would be charged. When we mentioned that we had already communicated this beforehand, the response was dismissive. Then they said it’s “special” this time—what exactly is special about it? The Room was supposed to be upgraded one rank higher but wasn’t. Only after I asked if the upgrade had been applied did they take action. I chose Sheraton Hotel for its name but felt disappointed from the moment I entered the room! The front desk staff didn’t even smile once! Additionally, despite requesting room cleaning, yesterday’s towels were left behind and trash remained—it was disappointment after disappointment! Are all staff properly trained? While I may not have authority to say much, Sheraton should be a more reliable Hotel than this. Please strive to become a hotel that brings joy to others! The front desk represents the face of the Hotel!

    Room Lighting

    The open-air bath in the Room, cleanliness, and amenities were very satisfying, but the lighting was too dim. Although it is a Japanese Suite Room suitable for families, it felt as dark as a mountain cabin.

    The Onsen is excellent.

    I stay here several times a year, but this time I stayed in a corner twin room on the club floor for the first time. As expected, the corner room offered great views and a sense of openness. The night view was particularly stunning. The onsen is free-flowing, and as always, this reliable hotel provides a satisfying experience.

    I had a relaxing time at the Onsen.

    The room is spacious and clean, with well-equipped amenities. The Onsen was absolutely the best. The hot spring water flows directly from the source, even for the pouring bath, and the post-bath area is spacious as well. The exclusive post-bath drinks and massage were excellent, though it was unfortunate that one machine was broken. The Club Room had limited drink and snack options during both tea time and cocktail time, which felt underwhelming compared to other Sheratons. This was disappointing given how good other aspects were. Breakfast and dinner were buffets with some similar menu items, but overall, both the variety and quality were satisfying. I would love to stay again!

    Hotel with Excellent Service

    I was hesitant due to the reviews about the club floor, and indeed, it falls significantly short compared to other hotels. However, considering that it's meant for appetizers before meals or a nightcap before bed, expecting a buffet might be unreasonable. There is a variety of alcohol and snacks like cookies available, so if you're just looking for a quick drink before heading to the restaurant, it should be fine. I had an issue with noise and requested a room change. Although I offered to pay for it, they kindly accommodated me without any additional charge. As someone who values quiet and restful sleep in accommodations, I deeply appreciated their hospitality. While there are many hotels that seem to have forgotten what being a hotel means, this one truly embodies hospitality—perhaps because of its long-standing history? The bath was excellent with wonderful water quality; I enjoyed soaking multiple times. For crowded restaurants or facilities, adjusting your timing seems like the best approach here. Thank you for providing such a wonderful stay!

    The Onsen was excellent.

    The Onsen exceeded my expectations and was absolutely wonderful. The water quality was exceptional, and the atmosphere of the bath area was charming, making it very relaxing. The free parking allowed unlimited entry and exit. With direct access to the Rokko Liner station, train transportation was also convenient. A young male staff member who assisted us was very pleasant, always smiling and kind. Unfortunately, the teppan grill and bar on the top floor were closed; I’m sure the view would have been amazing—what a pity! I definitely want to try it next time. The buffet on the first floor was lively. Since it was a weekday, there wasn’t much crowding overall, so it felt comfortable. Great value for money! I’m extremely satisfied and will absolutely stay here again!

    Anniversary Trip

    We were looking for an accommodation to celebrate our wedding anniversary and found a plan offering a stay at the Club Room of Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers at a discounted rate, so we made a reservation. After having lunch in Chinatown in Kobe Motomachi, we checked into the hotel after 3 PM. The room was on the 17th floor, located at the corner with spacious interiors and an excellent view overlooking the sea. Although there was slight wear on the sofa seat, everything else was perfect. The room had a walk-in closet, allowing us to keep our luggage out of sight and enjoy more space. The king-size double bed was large and very comfortable for sleeping. The shower booth, bathtub, toilet, and washroom were designed with marble-like tiles that gave off a luxurious feel compared to typical unit baths. However, as they were all combined into one space, it would have been more convenient if the toilet had been separate. Since it was our wedding anniversary stay this time around, we received chocolate plates along with a message card through room service—a thoughtful gesture that made us happy. We immediately enjoyed tea time at the Club Lounge afterward. There were various soft drinks available including coffee and tea; cookies came in three to four varieties though having more options might have been better. After tea time enjoyment came relaxation within Kobe Rokko Onsen "Hamaizumi" inside this hotel itself—accessible via direct elevator connection—and included free usage under their Club Room Plan benefits! Its serene atmosphere paired well alongside saline-rich water due proximity near oceanfronts while avoiding overcrowded scenarios akin towards super sento establishments thus providing ample opportunity unwinding peacefully amidst tranquil settings rejuvenating oneself thoroughly therein! Feeling refreshed post-onsen visit led us next onto Twilight Time back again within said lounge area wherein alcoholic beverages became freely accessible alongside single plate servings comprising hors d'oeuvres accompanying them too! Normally hesitating indulging alcohol consumption given pricing concerns elsewhere outside home environments yet here such worries dissipated entirely enabling relaxed imbibing experiences altogether distinctively unique compared domestic drinking routines instead fostering memorable moments shared between myself spouse engaging conversations seldom occurring otherwise typically speaking overall delightful evening spent together indeed! Morning began delightfully dining buffet-style breakfast hosted Garden Café featuring wide array delicious offerings ensuring pleasant conclusion unforgettable extraordinary getaway occasion marking special milestone life journey cherished forevermore fondly remembered always henceforth assuredly so!

    Room with Club Lounge Access

    We chose a Room with Club Lounge access. For dinner, we made a Reservation at the Chinese restaurant on the second floor and enjoyed our meal. The Chinese restaurant provided a celebratory plate when informed it was a special occasion, and the food was very delicious. The Room had well-stocked amenities, and the Onsen had excellent water quality, making it an amazing experience. However, it was disappointing that IKYU Diamond benefits were not available, and there was no explanation about this during check-in. Additionally, for certain Room categories with access to the Onsen post-bath lounge and Club Lounge, there were no staff present or door security in place; anyone could enter freely to eat or drink, which diminished its exclusivity. Furthermore, both afternoon tea and evening offerings at the Club Lounge felt sparse in terms of food selection. If these shortcomings are addressed, I believe this would be a wonderful Hotel overall.

    The bath was excellent!

    The quality of the hot spring water was excellent, and it helped relieve my travel fatigue. Since I stayed for two nights, I changed the morning meal to lunch on the first day and enjoyed both breakfast and lunch on the second day. The meals were also delicious. I would love to stay at this accommodation again if I have the chance. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Excellent! But the location is...

    The property features an Onsen, gym, and pool. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious. However, access from Shin-Kobe Station via Shinkansen is very inconvenient. If more buses were available, I would love to stay again.

    The worst Hotel stay ever.

    I stayed here the night before a golf outing. The appeal of enjoying an onsen in Kobe, the Sheraton brand, free parking, and a variety-filled breakfast buffet made me look forward to my stay. However, my experience at this hotel was disappointing from start to finish. I couldn’t find the parking lot and had to go all the way up to the front desk on the second floor because there was no bellboy at the entrance. Why is there no bellboy? I ended up carrying large luggage from the underground parking lot by myself. After dining out, I headed to enjoy the onsen I had been looking forward to. At check-in, I was told that everything would be provided in the bath area and that it was fine to go empty-handed. However, when I arrived with only a change of underwear as instructed, there were only towels and amenities available—no yukata in sight. Reluctantly, I returned to my room wearing clothes I'd worn all day. When I asked at reception about this issue later, they informed me that yukatas are only provided for rooms above certain floors (12th floor or higher). While differentiating room amenities like bathrobes is understandable for premium rooms, not providing basic loungewear felt discriminatory and unpleasant. The amenities were also disappointing overall—cheap shampoo and skincare products reminiscent of those found in day-use onsens rather than what you’d expect from a high-end hotel left an impression of poor quality. Additionally, my room’s hairdryer had such weak airflow that drying took forever; it felt inadequate for use altogether! To make matters worse: signs stated guests could ONLY use hairdryers inside bathroom areas—not elsewhere within their private space—which seemed overly restrictive & inconsiderate towards guest preferences/comforts. But perhaps most frustratingly—the breakfast experience turned out disastrous! Due overcrowding issues during peak hours meant being directed toward waiting zones resembling sports bars instead dining halls themselves initially promised upon booking arrangements made prior arrival date(s). Despite patiently waiting over hour-long periods without updates regarding table availability status whatsoever eventually forced abandoning plans entirely due impending departure schedules looming closer minute-by-minute intervals ticking away rapidly unnoticed amidst chaotic surroundings filled confusion frustration alike among fellow patrons similarly affected circumstances beyond control management staff seemingly overwhelmed unprepared handle situations effectively efficiently manner expected reputable establishments operating under globally recognized branding standards synonymous     Although I occasionally use the dining services, it had been a while since my last stay, but once again, I had a comfortable experience. I think it is a good hotel. However, having a shuttle bus from Sannomiya would make it even better.

    Customer Service

    I have stayed here multiple times, but this time the customer service was the most disappointing. We had two rooms, but one of them often lacked amenities that were present in the other (such as toiletries, glasses, bathrobes). If we had only booked one room, we might not have noticed. It was difficult to get through when calling to request missing items, and even when I did reach someone, it took a very long time for them to arrive. The pajamas provided had extremely tight elastic bands; I contacted the front desk at midnight about this issue but received no response. As a result, I had no choice but to sleep without pajama bottoms. Additionally, since the room phones do not display room numbers, it was inconvenient to communicate between our two rooms. On a positive note, the Chinese restaurant on the second floor and breakfast at the garden café were both delicious with excellent service.

    Find urban relaxation in nearby Kobe

    I used this Onsen near Osaka for relaxation with my partner. The Room with spa access was very convenient, well equipped, and made everything easy. The Onsen temperature was just right, and after bathing I could relax with a massage, drinks, and even check my blood pressure. The buffet had a well-designed menu that didn’t get boring, and the seasoning was good too. I could switch to lunch and take it easy until check-out. However, the view from the Room was poor and the windows couldn’t be opened, so it felt a bit cramped. Overall it was very good, and next time I’m considering a Plan that includes lounge access. A 12:00 check-out is greatly appreciated. I think I will return. Thank you again in advance.

    Direct access to the spa floor is highly recommended.

    I visited with low expectations due to many critical reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised and had a very satisfying stay. Check-in was handled at the dedicated counter for the club floor, and perhaps because it was a weekday, there was no waiting time at the breakfast restaurant. The Onsen was also not crowded, making it easy to enjoy. At the lounge exclusively for the spa-connected floor, I appreciated being able to have milk after bathing. There are some guests who use the club lounge like an all-you-can-drink izakaya. While only one plate of hors d'oeuvres is provided, it's sufficient as an aperitif. Since the club floor is reasonably priced, I recommend having dinner at a restaurant instead.

    Conveniently located...

    Conveniently located from home, offering great views, a resort-like atmosphere, and enjoyable Onsen facilities, we use this accommodation several times a year. This time, we stayed as a group of three—my wife, her mother, and myself—to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. She seemed to enjoy the Onsen experience as well, allowing us to show our gratitude to her. The freshly grilled shishamo at breakfast was delicious. It was also nice to see the manager who resembles Eddie Jones looking well. With rising accommodation costs due to increasing inbound tourism, I hope the prices here remain reasonable so we can continue visiting in the future.

    A city Hotel in the heart of Kobe with a large Onsen bath.

    2 nights: December 28th to 30th. Every year at the end of the year, it has been a tradition for our family—my wife and I along with our two daughters' families from Tokyo—to gather at Menard Aoyama Resort in Mie Prefecture. This year, we chose this Hotel because when we stayed at Sheraton Kagoshima, we enjoyed the large public bath and open-air bath there. Since this is also a Sheraton, we decided on it and were very satisfied with the Onsen large public bath here as well. This year, I stayed with my daughter (just three of us), as everyone else joined us a few days later. There are many nice shops in the surrounding area. The night view from the Club Lounge is beautiful. However, there are some points I'd like to mention: The hors d'oeuvres in the Club Lounge were lacking variety; maintenance of the floor in the large public bath was insufficient—it hurt walking barefoot; and water flow time from spouts was too short. Living in Nara makes access convenient for us, and nearby stores—especially high-end supermarkets similar to Seijo Ishii—are excellent. We plan to use this Hotel every New Year’s holiday moving forward!
