A private whole-house Accommodation nestled in the nature and tranquility of Shigaraki: “SHIGARAKI SAUNA.” With this Plan, enjoy a restorative stay that combines a winter-only Shiga wild boar botan-nabe hot pot and an “Tea Sauna” featuring Asamiya Tea—Japan’s oldest tea tradition—to refresh both body and mind. For dinner, we provide botan-nabe made with plenty of Shiga wild boar and seasonal Shiga vegetables. The boar meat is prized for its rich lean flavor and lightly sweet, clean-tasting fat. To finish, choose either udon noodles or rice porridge (zosui), and savor the warmth through the very last bite. For breakfast, we offer our “Morning Curry,” whose fragrant spices awaken your appetite. In the Tea Sauna, enjoy a quiet moment to reset as you experience löyly infused with the aroma of roasted Asamiya tea. In a space in harmony with nature, unwind with deep healing brought by food and sauna. ■Sauna Tea Sauna (electric) Roasted tea leaves from “Asamiya Tea,” with 1,200 years of history, are used to create our special löyly water. Each pour releases savory steam that evokes the comfort of a tea field. Earth Sauna (wood-burning stove) A sustainable sauna built using an earthbag method—first in Kansai. The gentle heat from the wood fire warms you to your core. Experience a sauna that feels like breathing with the earth through “soil and fire.” *This Plan includes access to the Tea Sauna only.
