For dinner, we serve an umami dashi hot pot made with locally branded Omi chicken and fresh vegetables from Shiga Prefecture. The rich chicken flavor infuses the broth, complemented by the natural sweetness of local vegetables for a deep yet gentle taste. To finish, we provide udon and Omi chicken egg rice porridge—an irresistible final bowl that lets you enjoy the flavors of the chicken and dashi to the very last sip. You can experience two saunas: the “Tea Sauna” and the “Earth Sauna.” Be enveloped in aroma with löyly using Asamiya tea—Japan’s oldest tea— and unwind in Kansai’s first earthbag-built “Earth Sauna,” soothed by nature’s breath and the warmth of firewood. Fire, earth, fragrance, and breeze—enjoy a one-of-a-kind moment of deep relaxation born from Shigaraki’s land. ■ Sauna Tea Sauna (electric) We roast tea leaves from “Asamiya Tea,” boasting 1,200 years of history, and use them as our special löyly water. Each pour releases rising steam and a toasty aroma that feels like being surrounded by tea fields. Enjoy a moment of oneness with nature in a space overlooking Shigaraki’s mountain ridges. Earth Sauna (wood-burning stove) A sustainable sauna using Kansai’s first earthbag construction method. Designed with inspiration from climbing kilns, it reuses discarded clay from Shigaraki ware artists. Far-infrared heat from the wood fire gently warms you to your core.
