A private, entire-home sauna Accommodation surrounded by the nature of Shigaraki: “SHIGARAKI SAUNA.” This Plan is a standard No Meals Included option that lets you fully enjoy our “Tea Sauna” featuring Asamiya Tea—Japan’s oldest tea. The sauna uses an electric stove and can be enjoyed with self löyly. With our special löyly water made from roasted Asamiya tea leaves, fragrant steam fills the room, creating a soothing moment as if you were wrapped in tea fields. In a quiet setting surrounded by nature, please spend time “totonou” while sharpening all five senses. No meals are provided. Feel free to bring your own ingredients and drinks and enjoy your stay in your own style. ■ Sauna Tea Sauna Roasted Asamiya tea leaves with 1,200 years of history are used to create our special löyly water. Each time you pour water on the stones, rising steam and its toasty aroma create the comfort of being in the middle of a tea plantation. Enjoy a moment of becoming one with nature in a space overlooking Shigaraki’s mountain ridges. Earth Sauna A sustainable sauna using an earthbag construction method—first in Kansai. Designed with inspiration from traditional climbing kilns and built by reusing discarded clay from Shigaraki pottery artists. Gentle far-infrared heat from the wood fire warms you through to your core. A sauna experience where you can feel the breath of the earth through “soil and fire.” *This Plan includes access to the Tea Sauna only. By car: - From around Umeda (Osaka): approx. 1 hour 30 minutes via expressway; exiting at Keiji Bypass “Ishiyama IC” provides smooth access. - From around Nagoya (Aichi): approx. 1 hour 45 minutes via expressway; exiting at Meishin Expressway “Shigaraki IC” provides smooth access. When coming from either direction early morning or at night, please watch for wildlife crossing. In winter there may be road icing; please drive safely. There is also an SHIGARAKI SAUNA sign near the Facility as a landmark.
