    Very satisfied.

The entire Hotel has a very nice atmosphere, and I liked everything including the meals, Kacho, and Room. It's rare for me to like a place this much. I would like to visit at least once more this year.

    The usual winter Hotel

Every year, we visit in January and February. We relax in the lounge, swim a lot in the pool, drink until we're tipsy back at the lounge, order some room service when we return to our room, and then sleep. This time, I was able to eat crab legs in the lounge and ended up eating quite a few. They were very easy to eat as they were pre-cut with a knife, so I could enjoy them while chatting with my wife in the lounge. The next morning, we wake up early for a walk around the area. Since it's winter, it's still dark but we made it to Chion-in (Chionin). Then at 6:30 AM, breakfast at Raku-Ku (Raku-Ku). Thanks to swimming exercises from the previous day and an early morning walk, I can eat heartily. It's just a 30-minute drive from our residence; being able to soak in an Onsen and spend a relaxing weekend makes this hotel truly feel like heaven for us.

    It was excellent.

I used it for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Everything was spacious and relaxing. The club lounge was also large, and despite the number of people, I could spend my time quietly. The Onsen was very pleasant as well. Just as snow had piled up, I could enjoy a beautiful snowy landscape from the open-air bath. Breakfast had a wide variety of options and I was very satisfied, but the location of the juice was hard to find. Perhaps because of that, not many people seemed to be drinking it. While waiting in line at checkout, there seemed to be some trouble with the person in front of me which caused a slight delay. It would have been more convenient if check-in and check-out could be done at the club lounge. Other than that, everything else was excellent.

Thank you for the room upgrade.

I stayed two days before for the Agon Shu Star Festival. The Room was upgraded, and my husband was very pleased. Due to heavy snow, our check-in time was delayed, and we couldn't take out the cake we were looking forward to, but we ordered salads and other items through in-room dining. There was more than expected, which surprised us. At checkout, I was asked if I had a restful stay; thank you for that. It is healing. I hope to check in earlier next year. Thank you for your continued hospitality.

A unique Hotel where you can enjoy guest rooms surrounded by meticulously crafted design and a spacious Onsen Facility that doesn't feel like a Hotel. In the club lounge, you can enjoy items that evoke Kyoto along with views of Higashiyama. If you're looking for the best Hotel stay in Kyoto, I would recommend this place without hesitation. It's such a great Hotel that you'll want to visit again and again.

A hotel full of hospitality that makes you want to stay again and again!

Beautiful and bright building, neat and relaxing guest rooms, comfortable bath and fitness gym. Above all, I was impressed by the courteous and warm hospitality of all the staff, making it a truly comfortable Hotel. Even before check-in, I was allowed to change into a kimono in the changing Room. Thank you very much.

The hospitality of the staff at Kashoen is excellent, and I always want to come back. On the other hand, the staff at Rakusora often lack smiles, which can be unpleasant.

This is a Hotel I have wanted to visit for a long time. The staff had wonderful smiles. In the lounge, since I can't drink alcohol, I felt that the variety of snacks was less than other Hotels. I was most looking forward to the spa. It was very good. The Hotel itself is nice, but I was a little surprised to see several people walking in the hallway in pajamas and bathrobes. The room service meals were also delicious.

    Lacked hospitality spirit

The breakfast and rooms were somewhat satisfactory, but I would like to point out some very disappointing aspects in terms of service response. (1) Change in number of guests on the day: Due to heavy snow and traffic disruptions, one of the guests could not reach Kyoto and was unable to stay. However, the hotel's response was that they could not refund for one person. (The hotel we stayed at the next day canceled the reservation on their end and flexibly adjusted the number of guests.) It was clear from the start that they were strictly following the manual and lacked a spirit of accommodating the customer. Considering the high price paid, it was honestly very disappointing. (2) Lounge usage: We faced a situation where we could not use the lounge temporarily due to it being full. Despite having booked a special plan with lounge access, not being able to use it seems counterproductive. Honestly, I did not find any added value in the lounge access service. Perhaps because it is a large hotel with a large number of rooms and guests, I think there is a significant lack of personalized service for each individual. This is just a small opinion among many, so it may be a comment worth ignoring, but as a single guest, I dare to make a harsh comment.

    The Best Hotel in Kyoto

Since we checked in at night, we couldn't see it, but in the morning, when we opened the curtains, it was a corner Room with a spectacular view. We also received a warm congratulatory message for the birth of our first grandchild along with welcome chocolates, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful gesture. Additionally, the spa facilities exceeded our expectations, which was very satisfying for an Onsen enthusiast like myself. The buffet breakfast, especially the rice balls, was delicious and uplifting, making the morning stroll to Nanzenji Temple, Blue Bottle Coffee, and Heian Shrine enjoyable despite the cold weather. Unfortunately, with just a one-night stay, we reluctantly checked out. This is the best Hotel in Kyoto where I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    A favorite Hotel in Kyoto

Thank you for always using our services. This time, I visited with my son, his wife, and my grandchildren after the New Year. We enjoyed the club floor, indulging in delicious sweets and coffee at a leisurely pace, which delighted my grandchildren. Not only that, but we also had fun at the pool and spa, and the dinner buffet was delicious. We enjoyed the hotel so much that time seemed insufficient. The cocktail time dishes in the lounge were more than enough for people of our age. The staff provided excellent service. We made the reservation through IKYU's time sale and enjoyed the benefits of being a Diamond member, making our stay at the hotel fulfilling. Thank you very much.

    Stay in Kyoto~

I made a Reservation to relax at the Hotel rather than sightseeing. I stayed with my daughter and used the club lounge two or three times; the service was excellent. The attentive care and elegance of the Hotel made it a truly worthwhile stay. The only disappointment was that my daughter was looking forward to breakfast in the lounge, which was closed. The onigiri at the Rakusora breakfast was incredibly delicious. Next time, I would like to stay at the club lounge of the group Hotel, Osaka Marriott Miyako.

It was my first use ...

It was my first use in a while. It was a reservation at the last minute before the late checkout option with IKYU was no longer available. It's a bit disappointing. Checkout was at 12:00, but I received the following email separately, and I appreciated that they made it clear that my request might not be accommodated. "We understand you have requested a late checkout at 15:00, and we will do our best to accommodate this based on availability. However, please note that use of the club lounge after checkout is not possible." As a Diamond member of IKYU, I found the benefit to be the ability to wait in a sofa seat during check-in and the availability of drink services. The staff who assisted me at the reception was pleasant and displayed high hospitality. Regarding the lounge staff, there seemed to be some variation in customer service skills. In Kyoto, it seems that there is a shortage of staff everywhere, and many are still in training, so I look forward to their growth in the future. My daughter, who couldn't use the lounge during the light meal hours, had pasta from in-room dining, and both the service and the meal were excellent. I found it appealing to enjoy light meals in the room. Thank you. The availability of a spa and pool was also one of the attractions. The lounge was crowded only during the 17:00-19:00 time slot, and there was a one-hour usage limit and a wait, which was a bit inconvenient. The purpose of this visit was to use the spa, have breakfast, and use the lounge, so I was generally satisfied. At the breakfast venue, I would like to express my gratitude to the person who guided us with considerate service. They smoothly cleared the plates, allowing us to have a pleasant time. I will consider using Marriott-related cards in the future, but I would like to visit again.

    Stable satisfaction.

With the IKYU Diamond benefits, I am always upgraded to a room with a great view. Not only the mountains and sky, but also the blissful time of gazing at Nanzenji and Heian-kyo from a comfortable room. Even when I stay at other properties, I always end up returning to The Westin Miyako Hotel Kyoto. Needless to say, the noteworthy aspect is the service provided by the spa and lounge staff. It's truly the best. The convenience of transportation for sightseeing and the spa facilities are also reasons why I love it. I definitely want to use it again.

    The view was great.

Upgraded with IKYU Diamond and assigned a Heian-kyo view. We could see Heian Shrine, Nanzen-ji Temple, and Mount Hiei at a glance. The spa wear and pajamas were separate and comfortable to wear. The precious Onsen large bath in Kyoto city was well-maintained and very comfortable. The egg sandwich from in-room dining was also very delicious. It would be even better if front desk procedures could be done while seated for suite stays.

    Thank you always.

Starting with the pleasant service from the doorman, the reception, and all the staff greet you. Of course, it's not just for us. It's the same for every guest. This time, we stayed in a corner Room with a beautiful view of Heian Shrine, Kurodani-san, and at night, the moon could be seen above Nanzenji, making it a wonderful stay. I would like to say the spa was as enjoyable as always, but it was a bit unusual with small children running around and swimming in the bath. However, this is not an issue with the Hotel, but rather a matter of the users' morals, so it does not affect the star rating. It's a bit disappointing that it has ceased to be an adult spa Facility.

The No.1 Stays I Want to Visit

It was my number one choice of Stays. The reason was that it has Kyoto's largest spa Facility utilizing natural Onsen. Since I was staying, I wanted to spend a blissful time with a lounge-included Plan. First of all, it was very convenient to leave and pick up my luggage at Kyoto Station on both the day of arrival and the next day. Also, there were many staff members, and I received pleasant service in the lobby, restaurant, spa, and corridors. The cleaning of the spa was especially perfect. It became a Property I want to splurge on for special occasions.

    It was a wonderful stay!

I stayed in a Junior Suite with access to the club lounge. I was able to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The staff were all kind and responded with smiles, which was very pleasant. Although this is unrelated to the Hotel, there was one disappointing thing. A group of about 12 people... they stayed from 2:45 PM to 9 PM, making noise the whole time... With that number of people, I thought they could have used a paid meeting room... I was informed that the evening time would be crowded, so it was limited to one hour, but those people... It wasn't a very pleasant sight. Perhaps a word of caution could have been given... The breakfast was delicious. I will use it again.

The satellite concierge at Kyoto Station is very convenient.

It was very convenient as I could drop off my luggage at Kyoto Station before check-in and pick it up after check-out. I would like to use it again.

The large public bath and buffet are recommended.

Although it is a long-established city hotel, the noteworthy features are the large public bath and the buffet. The large public bath is equipped with facilities sufficient for stretching out and relaxing, and it was nice to be able to use it early in the morning. The buffet is of a high standard, as reputed, with a rich variety and deliciousness. It was also memorable to enjoy a 180-degree snowy landscape from Higashiyama to Heian Shrine during breakfast when it was snowing. It is also appreciated that a shuttle service operates every 30 minutes to and from Kyoto Station.

There was inconsistency in the service.

The breakfast and dinner service had many staff members, but only a few provided good service. While everyone was patrolling and checking their surroundings, they didn't notice that my water was empty and I was in need. When I finally spoke up, the staff member, despite me still being in the middle of my meal, asked, "Are you done?" without listening to my request. It was disappointing that the basics of hospitality and service were lacking. However, the front desk staff and the satellite concierge who helped transport my luggage to Kyoto Station provided excellent service. I hope for service that reflects the spirit of hospitality and exceeds the value of the price. Despite this, it was a Hotel I would like to visit again. Thank you very much. It is truly a wonderful Hotel.

    Tea Pack

The Westin Miyako Hotel initially accommodated us at Kasuien, then in a Heian View room, and this time we stayed in a Junior Suite room. The staff's greetings are always pleasant, and it's a hotel we love. We were delighted with the expensive amenities provided in the suite room this time, but to be honest, the tea bags (sencha) were not good. At Kasuien, there was an incredibly delicious tea bag called Ginkaku? so I went to Fukujuen in Shijo to purchase it later. The konpeito was also an elegant confectionery, truly befitting Kasuien. While it's understandable to differentiate, I would hope for a high-quality tea bag in the suite room. We had a wonderful New Year, including the delicious fish in the New Year's Japanese set meal.

    About Our Customer Service

When checking in, I handed my parking ticket to the staff at the check-in counter just in case and inquired about the parking fee and settlement. At that time, I was told, "The parking fee has already been paid, so you just need to insert the parking ticket into the machine," but in reality, an additional payment of 1500 yen was required. Also, when I went to get soy milk at the breakfast buffet, a young employee asked an older employee which container was for the soy milk. The older employee raised their voice, saying, "It's right there, you should know without having to ask," loud enough for me to hear. I understand they were busy, but it was unpleasant to hear one staff member yelling at another in a loud voice, which put me in a bad mood from the morning.

    The spa was good.

I had high expectations due to the high review ratings, but if I were to pay the same amount, I think I would have been better off choosing another hotel. The junior suite room was quite small. The club lounge was very lively and not relaxing. Especially during cocktail time, it started all at once with loud calls from the staff, and guests swarmed the food, making it feel like a cheap all-you-can-eat buffet. There is no luxury feel of a star-rated hotel, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't like a homey atmosphere. The staff also did not provide service befitting the club floor. The breakfast at Rakusora was neither good nor bad. It was tasty, but compared to other hotels, just average? The spa was very good. The onsen is truly recommended!! The club floor overall was disappointing, so I felt staying on the regular floor would be more cost-effective. (It seems like many people are aiming for an upgrade.)

I felt the dignity of a long-established Hotel in Kyoto.

The Facility is very well maintained, and the customer service was worthy of a luxury Hotel. We enjoyed a wonderful Hotel stay, indulging in both the French cuisine at the main dining and the spa Facility. If you have time, it's nice to climb the hill behind and enjoy the view of Kyoto.

    Satisfied.

The spa and breakfast were particularly satisfying. The men's spa had a luxurious use of space, with a comfortable distance between the bathing area and the changing room, keeping the changing room dry and clean. Staff frequently cleaned the shower area and sauna, maintaining cleanliness at all times. I would visit again just for the spa. At breakfast, freshly made rice balls were served on-site, which was delicious and unique—enjoying fresh rice in this way was refreshing. The Room was also comfortable. Although the bathroom in the Room was clean and spacious, I didn't use it as I opted for the spa instead. Having a concierge at Kyoto Station to store suitcases while sightseeing was very convenient. If there’s one suggestion to make, it would be about the shop—it felt somewhat isolated with limited stock that seemed more catered to international visitors rather than domestic travelers like me; hence it wasn’t very appealing personally.

I felt that the lack of signage in the facility was a bit unhelpful.

Please display a large red arrow and the words "Step Present" at the step from the entrance of the large public bath to the locker in the changing room. Without my glasses in the bath, I couldn't see it clearly and thought it was flat, only to step down hard with my bare feet. Fortunately, I wasn't injured, but it was dangerous. Please write clear and large instructions on how to use the faucets, showers, and hairdryers near their respective locations. I couldn't find any instructions and tried to use them on my own, but they wouldn't work. I struggled, especially with the hairdryer, to the point of almost giving up. At such times, there were no staff around, and I felt awkward walking around in a state of undress looking for someone to ask, so I gave up. My elderly mother said the path to the large public bath was like a maze, and she got lost. I also got slightly lost. After searching thoroughly, I found some signs, but they were not noticeable. I would like more arrows and explanations displayed prominently. According to other guests' reviews, there seem to be many repeat visitors who are familiar with the layout and how to use things, so they probably don't need signs. If the hotel were to display large, colorful signs everywhere, it might be considered "not stylish" or "a bit off" for a luxury hotel. The hotel's thinking might be that repeat visitors won't have trouble, and if style and ambiance are prioritized, then that's understandable. The staff's service and consideration were excellent, and my mother and I were very grateful for the staff of the Miyako Hotel. The morning newspaper service, which has become rare recently, was a delight for newspaper lovers. The staff kindly assisted with bedding consultations, allowing us to sleep comfortably and warmly. The breakfast content, taste, and staff service were excellent, and we enjoyed it. I've written at length about some not-so-good things, but this is just my personal impression as a first-time guest at this hotel. Everyone has different feelings and expectations from a hotel, and the hotel has its own philosophy. I apologize if the wonderful hotel staff, who took such good care of us, feel offended by my comments. Thank you very much for allowing my mother and me to have a pleasant stay. We are very grateful for your hospitality.

    Unchanging Hospitality

In Kyoto during December, we returned amulets to the shrine, received new ones, and strolled around Teramachi Street and Sanjo Street to look at New Year's items. Although it was a bit cold, we had a wonderful time soaking in the onsen at Stays "Kasui-en" and fully enjoyed the remaining yellow leaves. "Kasui-en" is a property that my wife is very fond of, and we make it a point to visit once a year. This property is not only beautiful in terms of its building and rooms, but at "Kasui-en," the hospitality from the proprietress and everyone else has remained unchanged since our first visit, always making it a place where we can relax as if returning to our own home. Honestly, I would like to keep Kasui-en a secret...
