Excellent customer service

I stayed with my elderly mother during a particularly hot season. The shuttle service from Kyoto Station runs twice an hour, making it easy to arrive even in the heat. The hotel had plenty of staff who were attentive to guests, allowing us to enjoy a very pleasant and comfortable stay. I was looking forward to the breakfast buffet after seeing it featured on a TV program, and it did not disappoint—it was excellent. I would love to have it again if I get the chance. For dinner, we chose a riverside dining plan at an external restaurant rather than the hotel's restaurant, so this is separate from the hotel's review. However, both the shuttle service staff and restaurant staff were kind and accommodating. That said, there were some challenges for elderly guests such as uneven stairs and distant restrooms. Based on reviews from Diamond members mentioning room upgrades as part of their benefits, I had high expectations for an upgrade during our stay. Unfortunately, due to room availability at that time, this did not happen. Hoping for an upgrade, I intentionally reserved a room one level below the club floor; however, things didn’t work out as conveniently as expected. It might be better to reserve within your desired grade but aim for rooms with better views when considering upgrades in similar situations!
