    Staying to make memories with my grandchild, who will be studying abroad at UCLA in the U.S. starting in September.

    My grandchild who lives in Singapore will be studying abroad at the University of California, Los Angeles starting in September, so I planned a trip for myself and my three grandchildren together with my two granddaughters who live in Takarazuka. We chose this Hotel because the spa looked great and it also has a pool. It was a hot day, and as soon as we arrived, the kids went straight to the pool. The spa was clean, and I enjoyed using it with my grandchildren. We had teppanyaki for dinner; the Kobe beef was delicious and the kids were very happy. The breakfast buffet was also excellent. On our way back, we were taken to Kyoto Station by shuttle bus. It was extremely hot, so it was great to travel comfortably.

    A soothing Onsen spa amid the chorus of cicadas

    When I mentioned that walking is a bit difficult for me, they kindly moved us to a Room closer to Spa Kacho and the elevator. The shorter route was truly appreciated. Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy the Onsen twice—once in the evening and once in the morning. In the Room, there was a large vanity table next to a big bed. It was very convenient for skincare, since I didn’t have to go back and forth to the bathroom each time. They also lent me a step stool for getting onto the high bed, and a high chair (bath chair) to place in front of the sink. As a result, even an elderly guest could relax and fully enjoy their Hotel stay. From check-in to check-out, the service was consistently pleasant—this is a Hotel you’ll want to return to again and again.

    We booked a Plan tha...

    We booked a Plan that included dinner on the riverside platform (sukiyaki), and my mother was absolutely delighted. The Shuttle Service made everything comfortable, and both the portion size and hospitality were more than sufficient. It also made me happy to see so many international guests enjoying themselves. We were able to take our time using the Hotel’s Facilities such as the pool, spa, and gym, and even went for a morning walk to Nanzen-ji Temple—despite the heat, we truly enjoyed our stay in Kyoto. I was also impressed that the bedding (sheets) had the best texture and feel I’ve ever experienced. Thank you very much for your kind hospitality.

    Although part of the...

    Although part of the large public bath was under renovation, I was truly satisfied with everything else. All of the staff were friendly and smiling, and their attentiveness was excellent—I would definitely like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    The best Hotel I have ever stayed at.

    I was satisfied with everything: the hospitality of the Hotel staff, the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room, visiting Kasuien within the Hotel, the pool, the Onsen, and the historical exhibits about The Westin Hotel. As a historic Hotel, it was the most satisfying one I have ever stayed at.

    For a family birthday celebration

    I still couldn’t forget the wonderful impression from our previous stay, so we chose to stay again on this special occasion—our family member’s birthday. During our stay, the Hotel surprised us with a birthday cake, and we were truly touched by their thoughtful gesture. Inside the property, we enjoyed strolling through the historic Kasuien and the beautifully maintained gardens, spending a relaxing time while feeling its long history and charm. Throughout the Hotel, you can sense the dignity and elegance that comes from being loved by many notable figures and historical personalities. For dinner, at my son’s request we had teppanyaki; not only was the food excellent, but the attentive hospitality made it a memorable experience. The spacious, comfortable Room and the soothing Onsen were also wonderful, allowing us to unwind and forget about everyday life. Thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, it became an irreplaceable birthday. We sincerely appreciate everything. We would love to stay again when we visit Kyoto.

    It felt like a great value even in midsummer.

    With a campaign offering nearly 50% off, it was a great-value summer stay. We also enjoyed afternoon tea before entering our Room. For dinner on the riverside platform at Momijiya in Takao, we were able to watch a maiko dance and enjoy the cool evening atmosphere. We were also upgraded to a better Room, so it felt like such a waste that we stayed only one night. Needless to say, the Room was comfortable. There was an issue with some amenities, but it was handled promptly. The spa was spacious, relaxing, and very clean—excellent. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options. The onigiri were small and you could choose the fillings, so you can enjoy anything from something light to a hearty meal. The seating is well spaced out as well, so it never feels cramped. Overall, the location is very convenient, they will store your luggage for you, and this Accommodation left us completely satisfied. We would love to visit again.

    It was great that th...

    It was great that the Hotel was quiet right after the holiday period. We also received a Room upgrade. Although it’s Kyoto, it was too hot for sightseeing, so we took a walk around the Hotel garden. We also enjoyed the spacious bath and the pool. Dinner—the French cuisine supervised by Dominique Bouchet that we had been looking forward to—was just as wonderful as expected. The dishes were like works of art, and the perfectly paired wines, cheese, desserts, and petit fours were all truly delicious. This is a Hotel we’d love to stay at again in another season.

    Just one unfortunate thing.

    The Hotel is in a great location, the Room was new and spotless, and the service was excellent. I fully enjoyed the riverside dining Plan as well—it should have been a perfect holiday. However, it seems there was heavy rain during the night. The sound of rain itself wouldn’t have bothered me, but an enormous amount of water poured out from a drainage pipe on the balcony, and the resulting noise kept me from sleeping at all. Lying down, I could hear it right by my pillow—it wasn’t something I could tolerate—so I asked the Hotel staff to bring earplugs. Since it was already past 3:00 a.m., I refrained from requesting a Room change. Even though they kindly upgraded my Room, this noise issue was extremely disappointing, so I had to deduct points for the Facility (there were no issues inside the Room). It would probably be fine on sunny days, but I think it’s best not to assign guests to this Room on nights with heavy rain.

    Not only were the Fa...

    Not only were the Facilities and rooms outstanding, but I truly had a wonderfully comfortable stay. I have stayed at Westin Hotels around the world, and this is undoubtedly one of the very best among them. The Facilities were beautiful, modern, and impeccably maintained down to every detail. What impressed me even more was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. Throughout my stay, everyone was attentive, highly professional, and warmly welcoming. I accidentally left something behind, and they handled it with great kindness and speed—I’m truly grateful. I can confidently recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto, and I would absolutely love to stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto.

    Long time no see.

    It was my first time back at The Westin Kyoto in a while. It’s truly appreciated to have a Hotel with on-site parking that is complimentary as a Diamond benefit. This time, we were chatting in the car before arriving about how we wanted to enjoy some good tea, so we started at Mayfair with tea and cake, served leisurely in a tea set arranged with Okura porcelain. It felt like the perfect beginning to a calm Hotel stay. After relaxing in our Room for a bit, we headed to Kacho (the bathing Facility). Perhaps because it was still early, it was very quiet and we could unwind at our own pace. We had chosen a Plan that included dinner, and it was our first time dining at Dominique Bouchet. As dusk settled over Higashiyama, the courses flowed beautifully. Lately my mother has preferred Japanese cuisine over French, so I wondered how she would feel about French food again—but she finished everything. She even enjoyed the meat dishes—something she doesn’t usually choose—and cleaned the plate right down to the sauce. Opting for the three-glass pairing was absolutely the right choice as well. By the time dessert arrived, night had fallen and Heian Shrine’s illuminated torii gate glowed vividly red. Around Shijo it was the start of the Gion Festival; shopfronts were draped with curtains, there were many people out and it was an extremely hot day—but at the Hotel we were able to spend our time slowly and comfortably.

    It was a little disa...

    It was a little disappointing that we were not shown to our Room after check-in. Since we made separate Reservations for my elderly parents and ourselves, we had to explain how to use the air conditioning and curtains, as they were not comfortable with the latest equipment. However, all of the staff who assisted us were kind. We were very satisfied with the Onsen in the large public bath. It was maintained and cleaned frequently, and the friendly service made it very pleasant to use.

    It was amazing!

    We decided to treat ourselves for a change, and our trip went exactly as planned: after arriving at the Hotel, we enjoyed the garden and the pool, had tapas at the Hotel bar for dinner, then went to the Onsen. The next day, after breakfast, we went back to the Onsen again. It was really appreciated that we could go to the Onsen and pool in loungewear and slippers. Since the weather was nice when we visited in the morning, we were able to fully enjoy the semi-open-air bath. Both the bar tapas and the breakfast buffet were delicious! On our way back, we wanted to shop around Shijo, so it was very helpful that our luggage could be delivered to Kyoto Station and that we could take a shuttle bus to Shijo. It was our first stay since it became The Westin, and we definitely want to come back!

    Ryokan with a Great View

    I stayed at Kaisui-en and was truly glad I did. The atmosphere, the Room design, and the thoughtful touches were a delight to experience. The bathroom and Onsen were especially exceptional. I also used the main building, and the lounge, bar, and breakfast were all excellent; both the food quality and service were great. Personally, the only thing I wished for was a small TV in the bedroom. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay. Thank you very much.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay at Kasuien. With its traditional Japanese design, it was hard to believe it was inside a large Western-style Hotel—the atmosphere was wonderfully quiet and relaxing. The in-Room Onsen was excellent, and I was able to unwind at a leisurely pace. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Kasuien staff for their thoughtful and warm hospitality. It became a wonderful Kyoto memory. I also used the club lounge, but considering the size of the Hotel, I felt it lacked a bit in terms of offerings, which was disappointing. I would love to stay at Kasuien again—next time with my whole family.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    When we mentioned that this was a commemorative trip to celebrate a special occasion, our Room was upgraded and we were shown to a wonderful Room with a view over Kyoto city. Thank you very much. We were worried that our young children might be noisy, but all the staff were always smiling and kind, and the children had a great time throughout our stay. At the spa, it was very disappointing that the semi-open-air bath in the women’s area was unavailable due to an unexpected malfunction, but we appreciated that bottled water was provided in the relaxation area and could be enjoyed freely. Breakfast was delicious for both Japanese and Western options, and the kids especially loved the ice cream corner. We were also happy that cups were provided so we could take drinks back to our Room after eating. Before checkout, we used the Hotel pool; perhaps because it was a weekday there were few guests, so we could relax and enjoy it at our own pace. We would definitely like to visit again!

    We enjoyed both the scenery and the Onsen.

    Thank you for upgrading our Room after we mentioned this was a commemorative trip to celebrate my elderly parents. My parents were truly delighted with the view of Kyoto from the terrace. We went to Momijiya for dinner and enjoyed kawadoko cuisine and firefly viewing, and after returning we enjoyed the spa—making the most of Kyoto and the Hotel from check-in onward. Perhaps because it was a weekday, we were also able to take our time and enjoy breakfast at a relaxed pace. The onigiri prepared at the counter was absolutely delicious, and both of my parents seemed to love it. All of the staff were always kind and welcoming with warm smiles, making our stay wonderful. We will definitely visit again!!!

    I was very satisfied.

    Although I arrived before check-in, they promptly prepared an upgraded Room for me. It was wonderful, and I was very satisfied. I also used the spa; it was spacious, clean, and relaxing. The staff were courteous and made me feel comfortable. I would like to stay again.

    A Cozy Hotel

    The Room was cozy and easy to use. The bathroom and washbasin area were especially convenient, and the bed was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed a teppanyaki meal, and we were glad to have such a fun and delicious time. The staff were also very courteous, making it a great stay.

    I stayed here with my child.

    I stayed with my child and mother. The Shuttle Service from Kyoto Station made getting around very comfortable. After arriving at the Hotel, we had afternoon tea and planned to take a walk outside, but my child was happy exploring the pool and garden, so the adults were able to fully enjoy our stay as well. The bath was comfortable, and every dish at the dinner buffet was delicious. The amenities were excellent too.

    It didn’t quite live up to my expectations...

    1. The Hotel felt outdated. 2. The amenities were inconvenient to use (especially the sink and surrounding water area). 3. The teppanyaki meal on the 3rd floor was disappointing overall; the dessert was particularly disappointing—poor presentation and not to my taste, so I left it unfinished.

    This is a wonderful Hotel!

    I visit Kyoto about twice a year, and this was my first time staying at this Hotel. I have stayed at several Hotels before, but this was an outstanding Hotel that made me want to return more than anywhere else. All of the staff were pleasant and kind. The Room was clean, the amenities were well stocked, and I was especially surprised by the large supply of high-quality towels. I had a Multiple Night Stay, and they even provided new fluffy slippers for the second day. The Onsen public bath was even more impressive. Staff were constantly cleaning the floors and the powder room after use, so no matter when I went, there wasn’t any hair or trash on the floor—this level of cleanliness was a first for me. There were also plenty of bottled water available, and everything about it was excellent. I also enjoyed breakfast. One small disappointment: when I ordered pasta via room service for a late-night meal and mentioned that I would be sharing it, only one set of plates and forks was provided. It took a little time for the additional items to arrive, so the food got cold—but it still tasted great. I’m planning to visit Kyoto again during the autumn foliage season, and I would definitely like to stay at this Hotel again.

    This highly recommended Hotel is still staffed by top-class professionals.

    This was our second stay, as we were visiting my parents’ grave. I was surprised and truly moved that the breakfast venue staff seemed to have been informed as well—they greeted me with something like, “Thank you as always. It’s been a while since your last visit.” It was disappointing that check-in and check-out can no longer be done in the lounge, and that the variety of desserts during afternoon tea time has decreased significantly. However, the most important thing—the Hotel’s genuine spirit of hospitality—remains unchanged. Just before check-out, my eldest daughter suddenly felt unwell and couldn’t stand up. It seemed to be because we had forgotten her regular medication. While my son-in-law rushed over by Shinkansen with the medicine and my husband came to pick us up by car, you kindly allowed us to continue using our Room. Although it was a Room already assigned to the next guest, you made arrangements for us. I was very anxious due to this last-minute trouble before check-out, but your support truly helped us. Thank you very much. I’m also sorry for any inconvenience we caused. We have already made a Reservation for our next stay during the autumn equinox week—this time with my younger daughter.

    It was good, just as expected.

    I stayed here in December and was so impressed by the spa and the view from the Room that I decided to return. It was just as wonderful as I had hoped. The cherry blossoms along the incline were in full bloom and absolutely beautiful. Thank you to the staff for your kind hospitality.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    The shuttle bus to the station was very convenient and truly helpful. We also made a separate Reservation for dinner and enjoyed a delicious meal. We were able to take our time with breakfast as well, and it helped us recover from the fatigue of a busy trip. The warm smiles of all the staff were also comforting. Thanks to the shuttle bus driver and lobby staff for their courteous directions, we were able to explore more areas from the Hotel, including visiting a shrine. We were very satisfied with our comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

    When you come to Kyoto, choose this Hotel.

    This Hotel has a well-designed Room layout and well-equipped bathroom Facilities, making it comfortable and easy to use, so I really like it. The French dinner was delicious item by item, beautifully presented, and a pleasure to enjoy with the eyes as well. The lounge also had a great selection of drinks, and I was able to relax in a comfortable space. Breakfast was served buffet-style, with many Kyoto specialties, and everything was delicious. The staff were courteous as well, and this is a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at whenever I visit Kyoto.

    Even though it’s a Hotel, the large public bath is wonderful—just like at a traditional Japanese Ryokan!!

    Today, March 8, was bitterly cold. Light snow was falling, and the mountain forests were covered in a dusting of white. I stayed at this Accommodation on a day like that. While ordering room service in my Room, I watched a WBC game on Netflix. After the game ended, I went to the large public bath. It was very spacious and relaxing, and the view from the semi-open-air bath was wonderful. I also liked the in-house loungewear, which I don’t usually wear. If you’re staying by car, this is the best place.
