Following my visit two weeks ago, I returned again. This time, I stayed at the accommodation to enjoy the Summer Strawberry Parfait following last month's Peach Parfait at MAYFAIR. I’ve been indulging in their afternoon tea and parfaits frequently, and I highly recommend MAYFAIR. Thank you for accommodating my request to change rooms each day during this stay. On the first day, I stayed on the 5th floor in a room facing the inner courtyard. It was tucked away like a secret hideout with a compact feel, but right outside the window were trees from the inner garden. The sounds of nature, like cicadas in summer, created a calming atmosphere that made it very relaxing. On the second day, I stayed in Room 56 again as before—an inward-facing Junior Suite King room with dual basins and an expansive wet area similar to those with Heian-Kyo views. This inward-facing option is surprisingly recommended. Since its reopening after renovations, I've visited this hotel several times despite Kyoto having many competing accommodations of similar class. Due to high occupancy rates and scheduling conflicts previously, I'm glad I've been able to visit consecutively recently. The variety of room types here is impressive (even within one type there are slight layout differences due to major renovations). For example: Room 49 offers lovely views of Heian-Kyo Zoo; however lately my favorites are Junior Suites like Rooms 75 or 56. Once before through direct booking (not often available via OTAs), I stayed in a rare deluxe corner balcony room on the west side of Floor 7—a spacious gem with completely separate toilet facilities akin to Junior Suites—highly recommended for its rarity value! While upper floors are great too; surprisingly Floor 6 is very convenient for accessing SPA facilities as they’re on this same level. This time around marked my first visit to Bar Rokuzan where their frozen cocktails were delicious! Despite having dined out earlier for course meals elsewhere—I also ordered room service later: trying their omelet rice for the first time alongside my usual favorite Kyoto vegetable curry which never disappoints! Overall another fulfilling hotel stay—thank you so much! Looking forward eagerly until next time!
