Enjoy Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine at a sukiya-style Accommodation with views of Amanohashidate, one of Japan’s Three Scenic Views.

Chaloku Bekkan’s true essence lies in understated, never-ending hospitality. A refined, pure setting, gently complemented by warmth.

  • My spouse and I stayed on June 19. The building was old, but it was well maintained, and the courtyard after the rain in the morning was lovely. All of the meals were delicious, and we both finished everything. The staff were also very pleasant. We were able to visit Amanohashidate, which we had wanted to see for a long time, and fully enjoy Kyoto by the Sea. Thank you very much.

  • You can truly feel the weight and character of this building with over 90 years of history. Everything was very well cleaned, and the toilet and other water facilities have been renovated. All of the food was delicious and beautifully presented, and above all, the service was excellent, making our stay very comfortable. Up to this point, there were no complaints at all. There were two things that I felt would make it even better if improved. First, there was no in-Room safe, and there were also no lockers in the changing Room. Having either one would provide greater peace of mind.Second, one of the open-air baths was only a Shigaraki-ware ceramic pot bath that fits just one person. Since the other rock bath was so nice, when visiting as a couple it means one person may end up feeling disappointed.Overall, we were very satisfied. Thank you very much.

Notice from the Accommodation

  • Tango-grown oysters, rich in minerals—“milk of the sea”—served with a special jelly made with Iio Jozo Fuji Vinegar Premium.

From late April, we serve Tango rock oysters to staying guests (excluding the Tajima Beef Kaiseki Plan).

Rock oysters raised over three years in the waters of Tango are rich in nutrients such as zinc, taurine, and glycogen—often called “the milk of the sea.”

They are known for their fresh seaside aroma and rich flavor.

Enjoy them raw or steamed, with a squeeze of lemon and our special Tosazu vinegar jelly.

For your information, the vinegar we use is Fujisu Premium from Iio Jozo in Miyazu.

This pure rice vinegar is carefully made by traditional static fermentation using pesticide-free Tango rice—eight times the amount typically used for regular rice vinegar.

Our special jelly, made by blending this Fujisu Premium with dashi broth, pairs perfectly with rock oysters.

If you cannot eat rock oysters, please contact us in advance and we will prepare an alternative ingredient (we are unable to accommodate requests made on the day).

When visiting Miyazu Amanohashidate, why not enjoy seasonal flavors with an overnight stay or a day-trip lunch?

We plan to serve rock oysters until around August.

However, depending on availability and other circumstances, we may not be able to offer them.

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • From the Special Room “Horai”: a garden glowing with fresh green leaves. For dinner, choose either in-room dining or the dining area.

Renewed in October 2023, the special Room “Horai” is located on the first floor.

In the garden, soft new leaves on the trees shimmer in their own hues.

The two gardens on either side of the Room are designed so that, when viewed from Horai’s main room, each garden faces you directly.

    A spacious layout: 10-tatami main room + 10-tatami anteroom + wide veranda.

The anteroom features two semi-double beds. You can also enjoy garden views from this room.

From mid-April, azaleas and maple blossoms come into bloom.

Soon after, fresh greenery grows quickly and deepens in color, followed by blooms of azalea, satsuki azalea, nandina, and gardenia.

In summer, gentle light filters through reed screens amid refreshing green foliage.

Autumn brings fragrant sweet osmanthus and vivid autumn leaves; winter offers camellias in the cold season, snow-viewing shoji screens, and a kotatsu table for cozy warmth.

When staying in “Horai,” you may choose either in-room dining or the dining area for dinner (breakfast is served in the dining area).

In this refined Japanese-style space where you can savor the beauty of every season, please enjoy a relaxing stay with your spouse, mother and daughter pair, family members—or someone special.

  • Featured on ABC TV’s “News Okaeri” for our “Buri Shabu.”

On December 9, 2025, our “Buri Shabu” at Charoku Bekkan was featured on ABC TV’s “news Okaeri,” in the segment “Manami and Misaki’s Kyoto Stroll.”

Under the theme “Kyoto: Miyazu—Savor Winter Yellowtail to the Full,” they began with yellowtail sashimi, saying, “Ah—this is happiness.”

About our buri shabu: “It’s so good it makes you not want to open your mouth,” and “(The house-made ponzu) is truly so fragrant—the citrus adds a refreshing touch to the yellowtail. It’s incredibly delicious.”

The rich, flavorful buri shabu enjoyed to the fullest by Manami Honjo and announcer Misaki Onita will be available only through February and March.

For those who want to enjoy yellowtail in a variety of ways—including buri shabu—we offer our Winter Yellowtail Indulgence Plan.

For those who want to enjoy both buri shabu and crab, we offer our Crab × Winter Yellowtail Deluxe Plan.

Come experience nearly 50 years of Miyazu Amanohashidate buri shabu—whether as a day trip or an overnight stay. We look forward to welcoming you.
