    We had a wonderful time.

The bath was very clean and pleasant. The cold bath was slightly lukewarm. Breakfast had a wide variety of dishes and was delicious.

The price was very satisfying, but many facilities are still outdated, especially the toilets, which either lack a bidet or are broken. We didn’t make a reservation for meals, so it was crowded and difficult to secure a seat. Additionally, the welcome lounge had limited options and wasn’t well-organized, making it inconvenient to use. The room had a great ocean view; however, the sofa was torn, and the walls were full of peeling marks—making it feel somewhat dirty and uncomfortable. I hope things will improve in the future.

    Junior Suite

I often travel to the northern Kinki region and had been wanting to stay here for a while. When searching for renovated rooms, I ended up booking a Junior Suite. The room was very spacious and clean. The view from the window was also great, and I was satisfied overall. However, I found there were fewer meat options on the menu, and the spacing between tables was quite narrow; it would be appreciated if this could be improved in the future. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay and will definitely visit again!

    I had a relaxing time.

This is our fourth Accommodation following Awaji Island, Lake Biwa, and the southern region. Check-in, meals, and the lounge were not crowded, allowing for a relaxing stay. I would like to stay again and recommend it to friends. For future improvements: 1) Please address the roughness at the bottom of the open-air bath as it has cracks and slightly hurts the soles of feet. 2) There were two semi-bath chairs; please consider increasing their number. 3) Please provide facial cleansing foam in the large public bath area. 4) The sink in the Room was noticeably dirty.

    A well-designed, great-value Hotel group

I stayed here two or three times before the renovation, but this was my first stay since it became a Mercure. The property has been refurbished in a simple, stylish way, and the service and various systems have been streamlined and made more efficient. You can sense cost-cutting measures throughout so it can be run with minimal staff, but it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. From check-in to room guidance to the bath and dining facilities, as well as lounge operations, it can feel rather hands-off in a negative sense. Since there are many foreign guests, they may be aiming for a non-verbal approach. I also felt that letting guests handle things themselves may lead to fewer complaints than imposing unnecessary restrictions. There is no water provided in the room; there are no yukata-style loungewear for use inside the Accommodation; there are no towels or razors in the public bath; and there is no ice dispenser... All you can do is accept it given the low price. The food tasted reasonably good to me.

    Room Amenities: Beverage Server

The service provided by the Hotel staff was excellent. However, unlike my previous stay at the same group's Shirahama location where two cans of water were provided in the room, this time there was a water pitcher with condensation inside the refrigerator. Guests are expected to use this pitcher to fill water from a dispenser located in the elevator hall. I would prefer if the sterilized and unopened pitcher were placed outside instead of inside the refrigerator, as I found it unsettling to use due to condensation. I also tried soft drinks from the drink server, but they had a moldy smell, which made me concerned about whether it was properly cleaned. This time I stayed at a "Grand" level accommodation and expected it to be an upgrade compared to my previous visit; however, I found my earlier experience more satisfactory.

    I chose this accommo...

I chose this accommodation to celebrate a birthday and because I had been interested in it for some time. Although check-in was at 3 PM, I arrived about an hour and a half early and went to the front desk hoping to leave my luggage. However, I was informed that the room was ready, so I was able to check in immediately. I had been wondering how to pass the time, but being able to rest in the room was very helpful. As it was my birthday, there was a towel-made birthday cake and a celebratory message waiting for me, which deeply moved me. The all-inclusive service allowed me to enjoy alcohol and snacks in the lounge with a wonderful atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast were included; although there were many people, both meals offered plenty of dishes that were quickly replenished. There were also unique international dishes not commonly seen at other hotel buffets, making for delicious and enjoyable dining experiences. During my stay, I participated in a complimentary kumihimo (braided cord) experience where I made my first kumihimo bracelet (misanga). There was also table tennis equipment available for rent. Thanks to these activities, I had an incredibly fun birthday celebration. Thank you very much!

    Delicious meals that exceed expectations

I chose this all-inclusive accommodation. The room felt slightly dated but was spacious with twin beds and offered a great view of Amanohashidate. The best part was being able to enjoy drinks, including alcohol, freely after arrival. Although there were no main dishes like steak or roast beef, every meal was carefully prepared and delicious. I especially loved the miso used in the pork shabu-shabu served at dinner and the wasabi-flavored kelp tsukudani—so much that I wish they were sold in the gift shop! Unfortunately, they weren’t available at breakfast, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, I’m glad I chose this hotel for its affordable price and excellent meals. One downside was that there were no body towels (sponges) provided among the hotel amenities.

    Family Trip

Stayed with my infant, young child, and wife as a group of four. The Hotel feels slightly dated, but the service and hospitality were excellent. The food and drinks were outstanding. I have decided to always stay here whenever visiting the Amanohashidate area in the future.

    Grand Mercure is better.

I stayed on the 8th floor. When I left my Room to go to the souvenir shop on the first floor, I saw one woman coming out of two Rooms across from mine and three people (a man and a woman) coming out of another Room. One person was holding an empty lunch box, and the others were carrying something that looked like pillows. I felt uncomfortable knowing this Hotel uses guest Rooms as rest areas! The food was also disappointing; the sushi, such as squid and salmon, was dry. I usually stay at Grand Mercure, and I was shocked by how different it is here! A friend also told me that Miyazu is not great. Very disappointing.

    77th Celebration Accommodation in Miyazu

On my first visit to Miyazu, Kyoto, I stopped by Amanohashidate before checking into the Hotel. The building and Facility are not new but well-maintained. The meals and lounge were excellent. The staff's service was also great. I would like to use this Hotel again. Thank you very much!

I was very satisfied with both the stay and the meals.

This was my fourth stay at a Mercure property, and I was very satisfied. The evening buffet featured sea bream sashimi, which was absolutely delightful! While the squid sashimi was also delicious, I rarely get to enjoy sea bream sashimi to my heart's content, so it made me very happy! The salmon sushi was also excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed the drinks in the lounge as well, making my experience even more satisfying. The public areas have been renovated and felt very clean and fresh. My thanks go out to all the staff members! I look forward to visiting again. Thank you so much!

    Highly recommended for everyone.

The Room was spacious, and the view was great. Although I am not a fan of buffets, the food was delicious and satisfying. Additionally, the staff's service was excellent! I was surprised by how many foreigners were there, but the staff handled situations perfectly—like addressing noisy behavior in the bath or quickly providing replacement slippers when mine went missing. During dinner, they also tactfully managed inappropriate actions by some guests. Their attentiveness was outstanding. It offered value beyond its price. I’ve already recommended it to my friends saying, "It was great!"

    Rice

The side dishes and drinks were good, but the rice was disappointing. I was hoping for fluffy rice served from a rice cooker instead of machine-made rice.

    Cozy Lounge and Buffet

As an all-inclusive Hotel, drinks were available in the lounge, restaurant, and after enjoying the Onsen. However, the lounge staff seemed idle and were chatting among themselves. Having four staff members there felt excessive. On the other hand, it appeared that there was a shortage of staff at the buffet. Regarding meals, it was disappointing that popular items like roast beef and hamburgers praised in Reviews were unavailable. The sushi selection was limited to just two types. Despite having a teppan grill station, it wasn’t utilized effectively; even fried eggs cooked on it felt like something from a home meal. For a Hotel buffet, it was underwhelming—best not to set high expectations. The Onsen experience was pleasant with an outdoor bath included.

Be cautious with parcel delivery and meal purchases. Shuttle service needs improvement.

A good hotel with nice rooms and views. However, there are a few points to note: 1) If you plan to skip meals at the hotel and eat in your room with food bought outside, be aware that unless you drive, there are no bakeries, convenience stores, or places to buy bento nearby. Finding food can be challenging. 2) If you're planning a luggage-free trip and intend to send your suitcase from this accommodation to the next one: - The front desk only offers "cash-on-delivery" shipping. - To prepay for shipping, you'll need to visit a shop open only between 4 PM and 9 PM. These shops do not operate in the morning; if you miss this time frame, prepaid shipping is not possible. I ended up walking less than five minutes from Miyazu Station to the post office and sent my luggage prepaid from there. 3) The hotel's shuttle service schedule does not seem customer-friendly: - For example, the shuttle barely aligns with express train arrivals from Kyoto. Shuttle times should match train schedules better. - There are only three pick-up times at the station; missing one means waiting an hour. - The return shuttle departs at 10:30 AM for Miyazu Station while the bus for Amanohashidate leaves at 10:34 AM—just four minutes apart! It's impossible to make it on time without rushing. The next train is about an hour later. - Most guests travel via Miyazu Station towards Osaka, Kyoto, or Amanohashidate—why can't they adjust departure times by just ten minutes earlier (e.g., leave at 10:20 AM)?! The staff mentioned that "the company decides these schedules," but improvements would greatly benefit guests' convenience. While it's nice that drivers provide local area information during rides, it would also help if they offered guidance on connecting public transportation options. For those opting out of meals here—note that there's only one type of cup noodles available in their shop! It’s highly recommended to prepare breakfast and dinner supplies before arriving at this accommodation. A microwave is available near reception. This is truly a great accommodation overall; however, these three issues were disappointing. Please take care when planning your stay here—and we hope the hotel considers improving its shuttle service schedule!

    Family Trip

This was my first time staying at a Mercure Hotel. The rates were reasonable, so I didn’t have high expectations for the lounge. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find about nine types of snacks, including rice crackers, cookies, and gummies that people of all ages would enjoy. I especially enjoyed the rice crackers. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, making it fun to choose and everything was delicious. I did wish that the facial cleansing product in the large public bath’s washroom could also be placed inside the bathing area.

    Family Trip

It felt slightly inferior compared to other Mercure Hotels. Breakfast was better than dinner. The Shuttle Service schedule was based on the Hotel's convenience, which limited sightseeing opportunities. Check-in had a long queue, and although early check-in was supposed to be from 2:00 PM, I finally got to the Room at 3:20 PM. Late check-out at 12:00 PM had no value as the last Shuttle Service to Miyazu Station was at 10:30 AM.

    Good.

Although it was a bit away from the Amanohashidate main area, I was pleasantly surprised by how impressive the Hotel was. The staff were very attentive, and both the dinner and breakfast buffets offered an incredible variety of dishes that were delicious. For those who drink, there is an all-you-can-drink beer option. The lounge also provides unlimited alcohol, soft drinks, and snacks. The Onsen includes an open-air bath, and you can even enjoy strawberry picking nearby. It was truly a wonderful experience. I would definitely like to stay here again next time. Highly recommended!

    Use during Golden Week

The Room is a traditional Japanese-style room without renovations, giving it an old appearance. The dressing table felt eerie. Guests are required to set up and lay out their own futons with sheets. The meals were average, but the dining area appeared outdated. The layout was poorly designed, making movement inconvenient. There are only three elevators, which was highly inconvenient. Since stairs were not accessible, guests had to wait several minutes for an elevator. For those with mobility issues, it was particularly challenging as they couldn't move from the second floor upwards due to the lack of stairs—waiting for an available elevator became a major issue. The lounge offered beer, which was nice; however, the snacks provided were quite simple. For four people, it cost approximately 100,000 yen.

Six months ago, I was impressed by the buffet at a hotel in the same group and visited with high expectations, but both dinner and breakfast were very disappointing. It felt like a cheap restaurant buffet. The room had a musty smell, making it hard to breathe and difficult to sleep peacefully at night, resulting in an unfortunate stay. The room was spacious with a great view, which made it all the more disappointing. I learned that even within the same hotel group, there can be significant differences from what is described on their website. Perhaps it was because the price was low?

Our family loves alcohol, so having access to the lounge was greatly appreciated. Enjoying drinks while watching the sunset over Amanohashidate was absolutely amazing!

I made a reservation for the first time.

The facility was spacious and comfortable. I was looking forward to the all-inclusive experience this time. After check-in, there were complimentary snacks and unlimited drinks, which I enjoyed. The unlimited variety of alcoholic beverages during dinner was satisfying, but only having sparkling wine available at breakfast was a bit disappointing. The meals included sashimi and various dishes, which were very satisfying. As for the bath, is it just me who thought the outdoor hot spring might be seawater?

    That's unfortunate.

The staff performance varies greatly; some are hardworking, while others are not. The quality of meals has significantly declined since the opening. The signature brand pork shabu-shabu is no longer available, which was the main reason for my visit—very disappointing. Strawberry picking requires a reservation and operates on limited days, so I couldn't participate—another disappointment. The decline in meal quality at Mercure is quite noticeable. Initially good, but it feels like being let down over time. Just like my previous experience in Awaji Island, this was also disappointing.

It's been a year, and many things have changed.

The staff now includes many young members and they were very polite in assisting a guest who accidentally knocked over a glass at the restaurant. The amenities were standard, and the lounge and restaurant had a calm atmosphere. This time, I was pleased that the Room faced Amanohashidate.

Looking forward to the renovation of the Room.

Stayed on 3/2 with my parents in their 80s, making a group of three. Despite the rainy weather, we enjoyed a view of Miyazu Bay from our room overlooking the parking lot. This was our third stay at a Mercure Hotel, following Awaji Island and Tosa. The buffet-style meals for both dinner and breakfast were crowded but offered a wide variety of delicious dishes. Implementing a reservation system with designated time slots might help alleviate the restaurant's congestion. While the interior felt slightly dated, it was comfortable overall. We hope this hotel will also introduce renovated superior rooms like those at Mercure Awaji in the near future (the room was clean but had some signs of age). Looking forward to our next stay!

Isn't the decline in meal quality too significant?

Check-in takes time. The lounge, restaurant, and onsen are very crowded. Children are running around, and inbound guests are noisy. While there are various issues, there were no major complaints about the renovated room, and the meals offered a variety that was satisfying. We have stayed in Ise-Shima, Awaji Island, Nara, Lake Biwa, and this time in Miyazu. However, the quality of the meals we were satisfied with has significantly declined over the past year. Some facilities respond to similar feedback by stating that they have changed menus according to the season; however, I believe this cannot be considered a change if the quality remains unchanged. After rebranding promotions ended, it seems like it has become a case of getting what you pay for in terms of quality—perhaps that's fair? Even on Grand Mercure and Mercure's official websites, meal details that were highlighted as selling points during rebranding have disappeared. Moving forward, I will reconsider staying at Grand Mercure or Mercure accommodations again.

    Dinner Buffet Information

The dinner buffet is available from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and was quite crowded with many guests. Despite the time frame, there was a lack of food replenishment, leaving many empty dishes. It felt rushed and difficult to enjoy the meal in a relaxed manner. On the positive side, alcoholic beverages were available for unlimited refills. Implementing a two-part dining schedule or other time adjustments could improve the experience.
