We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed.

I was very satisfied when I stayed two years ago, but unfortunately this time I was disappointed. The night pool, however, was great.

The Obon holiday period is very crowded.

I love this Hotel’s all-inclusive plan, and I’ve stayed at various locations such as Lake Biwa, Wakayama, Sapporo, and Zanpa Cape. This was my first time staying here, but perhaps because it was during the Obon holidays, the Hotel was packed and there were long lines even to use the elevators. Even though meal times were assigned, there was nowhere to sit and it was stressful having to wander around looking for a place. The food selection was limited, and it was disappointing that there were no freshly fried items at all. The rates were high during the Obon period as well, so coming at this time turned out to be a mistake.

The all-inclusive plan offered excellent value for money for this time of year.

The children came home completely satisfied in every way. They even said they want me to make another Reservation right away, which made me very happy to hear. Thank you very much.

    We enjoyed our stay.

It was a hot day, so right after arriving at the Hotel, I enjoyed a delicious beer in the lounge. The kids were happy too because they could have juice and snacks. Everyone at the Hotel was kind, and we were very satisfied. If I had to mention something, it was a bit inconvenient when the dining venue was in the second hall, and I felt the bed springs were a little soft. We’d like to visit again.

    Perfect for your summer vacation

After visiting Yura Beach, we stopped by a little after 3:00 PM. At check-in, there were separate lines for guests who had completed Online Credit Card Payment and those who hadn’t. However, I was concerned that even when someone cut in line, the front desk staff didn’t notice and continued assisting them. That said, we only waited about five minutes. We used the pool, and the pool itself wasn’t noticeably dirty even in the evening. I also appreciated that an automatic air pump was available. The changing room was crowded, and I noticed dirt on the floor and an unpleasant smell, so I had my child wrap up in a towel and head to the large public bath instead. I’ve stayed at several other Mercure properties as well, and among them this one exceeded my expectations overall. It almost made me worry whether it was really okay to stay during summer vacation at such a low price. The summer-vacation-only events were well organized. We could also do handheld fireworks outside near the front desk area, and entry management for meals ran smoothly, which I appreciated. The place to return dishes was clearly marked, and when we lifted our plates someone came to collect them, which was very helpful. The children’s amenities were provided separately. After my child dropped their toothbrush and I asked at the front desk for another one, they gave it to us without any unpleasant attitude. At check-in there were no slippers available left for us (which made me a bit irritated), so that point stood out. Overall it felt very family-friendly, and it was very comfortable for guests with children.

    The tatami Room was terrible.

This was my second stay. We stayed as two families.\nWe stayed in a Western-style Room and a Japanese-style Room.\nThe Western-style Room was spacious enough for two people, but four of us stayed in the Japanese-style Room.\nFirst, the 2-person and 4-person Rooms are the same size.\nThe tatami mats in the Japanese-style Room were in very poor condition—cleaner at a simple guesthouse. I was shocked by how dirty they were.\nLaying out futons for four people was barely possible.\nSince the price is the same, I would not book the Japanese-style Room again. It was very disappointing.

    The meals were excellent.

The lobby level and shared areas were very stylish. The room wasn’t brand-new, but it was spacious with a great view, well cleaned, and very comfortable. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything tasted excellent. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay.

A fun place to stay with kids.

The hotel was very family-friendly, and we had a very comfortable stay. The buffet was crowded, but the wait didn’t bother us much. We’d love to stay again if we have the chance.

    I stayed for one nig...

I stayed for one night during the July three-day weekend holiday. The Room was well cleaned and generally comfortable. I’m very sensitive to cigarette smells, and I’m fairly sure I noticed a tobacco odor somewhere on the way from the elevator hall to my Room. Since it was a non-smoking Room, there was of course no smell inside. Meals were extremely crowded as expected, but if you waited a little, seats opened up. The ramen was very delicious. I’m not fond of international cuisine. The staff cleared tables quickly and disinfected them, so I could enjoy my meal comfortably. As for other Facilities, I used the outdoor pool, table tennis, and the lounge. The pool was very crowded, with a long line at the entrance even before opening. I lined up about 10 minutes early but couldn’t get a chair with an umbrella. If you want to secure one, it seems you need to line up much earlier. For table tennis, you make a Reservation at the front desk, but there is no information posted near the tables. While we were playing, another guest we didn’t know took unused paddles and balls without asking. The lounge was great, with many kinds of drinks and several types of snacks. I also joined the kumihimo bracelet-making workshop that came as a perk. The staff kindly taught us how to do it, and I was able to make a very cute bracelet. It was fun and made me happy. There are also a few things I’d like to share with the Hotel. At check-in you receive an information sheet saying you can check bath crowding by scanning the QR code on the back of your Room key card; however, because it’s a wooden card—either due to light printing or wood grain—I couldn’t scan it at all. I think it would be better to print the QR code on paper or provide another method. Also, I would have liked the front desk phone number and instructions on how to call other Rooms. In my Room there may have been small children staying upstairs; there was loud running/stomping noise for long periods from around 6:00 in the morning until around midnight. Since it’s summer vacation season this may be unavoidable to some extent, but it may not be suitable for guests who are sensitive to noise.

    A wonderful stay experience

Mercure Kyoto Miyazu Resort & Spa was the most enjoyable and comfortable stay of our trip to Kyoto. The room was very spacious, and it did not feel crowded at all for four people. The lounge bar was excellent and free to use, and the large public bath was also a relaxing experience. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly, leaving a great impression. If I visit Miyazu again, I would still consider staying at Mercure Kyoto Miyazu Resort & Spa.

There is a pool, and perhaps because it was open for use, there were many families with children, so it was lively. There was a wide variety of food—more than we could finish—and we were very satisfied. Since it was before summer vacation and not a weekday, it didn’t feel especially quiet, but the Hotel staff were very kind, and we were able to relax in our Room. Thank you very much.

    Excellent value for money

I was shown to a beautiful, spacious ocean-view Room and had a very comfortable stay. I think the sink faucet would be easier to use if it were just a little longer. After arrival, we went to the lounge. Compared with other Mercure hotels, there were fewer types of alcohol, and there was no chocolate among the snacks. When we chose a 7:00 p.m. dinner time, the food replenishment couldn’t keep up at first. If we waited a bit, more dishes kept coming out one after another. It was very crowded even on a weekday. The sashimi was delicious, and the other dishes were also great. For breakfast, I liked the bread, and I was satisfied that there were plenty of Japanese options as well. The strawberry smoothie was also good. There were so many choices that it was impossible to try everything. Having beer, enjoying the Onsen, then dinner buffet and breakfast buffet—all at an affordable price—made me very satisfied with my stay. I want to visit again and have recommended it to friends as well.

Recommended for those who enjoy drinking.

This all-inclusive Accommodation offered drinks in the lounge from check-in (15:00–18:00), unlimited drinks at dinner, and drinks again in the lounge after dinner (21:00–23:00). There was a wide selection of alcohol, so it’s highly recommended for those who enjoy drinking. However, since we hardly drink, we were looking forward to the buffet dinner, but it was underwhelming. Breakfast was delicious with bread and Hotel-made strawberry jam, and overall our stay was good. Personally, I’d like to see more sweets added at dinner and in the lounge so that non-drinkers can enjoy it too. Also, the bath was not a natural Onsen, and the shampoo/conditioner/body soap dispensers didn’t dispense well, making them hard to use; the quality also wasn’t great. The Room was clean, and the ocean view from the window was lovely. Overall, the staff left a good impression. Thank you for taking care of us.

I was very interested in trying an all-inclusive stay for the first time, so I made a Reservation with a great-value Plan. I was surprised by the long lines while waiting for restaurant times and by some unacceptable manners from inbound visitors, but the front desk staff at check-in and check-out, as well as all restaurant service staff, were wonderfully attentive and made my stay very comfortable. While the Hotel is undeniably aging, it was thoroughly cleaned, offered heartfelt hospitality, and our spacious Room with a view of Amanohashidate made this one-night, two-day stay truly worthwhile. Thank you very much.

We stayed in Miyazu again this time.

The dining staff at Mercure Miyazu are truly thoughtful and wonderful. An older male staff member greeted guests cheerfully and energetically. However, it was disappointing to see a female guest bring an eco-bag and take a large amount of bread and other items back with her. It made me feel sad. I wish bringing eco-bags had been prohibited.

The suite offers an exceptional view.

We stayed in the same suite Room as last year and requested the same Room. The view from the top floor is outstanding. Meals were served in a separate Room, so we were able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace.

Once again, our stay at Mercure met all expectations.

This was my 16th stay at Mercure since the rebranding in spring 2024. No matter which Mercure I visit, it consistently meets my expectations, so whenever there is a Mercure at my destination, I choose it without hesitation. For retirees like us who enjoy road trips, Mercure is a favorite because weekday rates are relatively affordable, the hotels are conveniently located near expressway interchanges, and parking is available. On top of that, the all-inclusive plan, delicious buffet meals, and a spacious Onsen public bath make the stay even more enjoyable. Regarding Mercure Kyoto Miyazu specifically: dinner entry times were assigned in very fine 15-minute increments starting from 17:30. We were scheduled for 18:00, but many guests from earlier slots were still eating when we entered, so I did not understand the purpose of using 15-minute intervals. Since it was a Monday weekday and it did not feel overly crowded overall, I believe adjusting the time allocation could create a more comfortable and stress-free experience for more guests.

We stayed on the No Meals Included Plan this time, but lounge access was included, so we toasted with sparkling wine right after arrival. After fully enjoying the Onsen and sauna, we relaxed in the lounge again and had a wonderful time. There was a great selection of drinks and plenty of snacks as well! Thank you also for the gift from the Hotel as Diamond members. We were able to take in the beautiful scenery of Amanohashidate and Ine’s Funaya boat houses, making it a truly memorable trip. Thank you for your hospitality.

This is my third time in Miyazu.

This is my third stay at Mercure Miyazu. I love alcohol, but I don’t like carbonated drinks. The lounge only had carbonated options, so I’d like to see wine available as well, like in Hamamatsu. Also, for the lounge from 9:00 p.m., I don’t like sweet potato shochu, so I’d appreciate it if barley shochu were available.

    Glad to hear that.

This was my first time staying here on a trip to Amanohashidate. The exterior looked a bit old, but the lobby, baths, and the Room I stayed in were clean and comfortable. There were alcoholic drinks available after check-in, and the meals offered a wide variety of options and were delicious. I was a little disappointed that the shop wasn’t open the next morning, but it made for a very enjoyable Amanohashidate trip! I’d definitely like to stay again if I have the chance.

    Stay with Your Dog

We stayed for one night and two days as a couple with our two dogs. Mercure Miyazu has Rooms where you can stay with your dogs, and moving around inside the Hotel is allowed as long as they are in a cart. There is even a dog run, and at check-in we received an adorable gift for our dogs. We had a very comfortable stay. One thing we noticed was that when we opened the Room door, there was a dog smell, so we rated it 4 stars. We would love to stay at this Hotel again. Thank you to all the staff.

We were completely satisfied with everything.

    Recuperation Trip

I canceled once due to the bear incident, but the weather was so nice on the day that I couldn’t resist making a Reservation again and going. The Onsen was great, and the Room was spacious, so I could relax and enjoy my stay. However, the buffet dinner was a bit disappointing.

    Couples’ Trip

Last time it was Mt. Daisen, and this time Amanohashidate—both times we were amazed by the spectacular view when we opened the Hotel window (7th floor). Touring around Miyazu Bay was also wonderful. We enjoyed a variety of delicious meals at the Hotel, and the baths—especially the open-air bath—were excellent. It was a very enjoyable one-night stay.

    The meals were disappointing.

I have stayed here several times, but this time the meals were disappointing. Because there were large groups from Korea and China staying, the menu seemed mainly geared toward them. There wasn’t a single dish I could say was delicious. There was only a small sashimi selection, tucked away quietly at the very back of one corner. I came looking forward to seafood, so it was disappointing. The view from the Hotel is excellent, though.

The view of Amanohashidate from the Room is excellent.

The view from the Room was great, and we were very satisfied with the wide variety of options at both the breakfast and dinner buffets. If I may make one small request, it would be even better if the Room had enough towels and bath towels not just for one set, but also for both an evening bath and a morning bath.

Back in Miyazu after a long time

The meals were very delicious, and the restaurant staff were pleasant and kind. It would be better if the front desk staff could speak a bit more Japanese. This is a Hotel I would like to visit again.

Delighted by a smoothie made with homegrown strawberries

What surprised me first was how affordable the Accommodation was. It’s rare to find this price with both breakfast and dinner included. The strawberry smoothie at breakfast, labeled as made with homemade strawberries, was very delicious. There was a wide variety of dishes, and the restaurant was spacious, which was great. It’s quite far from Miyazu Station, but there is a Shuttle Service, and the driver was very friendly. The Room was quiet and relaxing. My husband used the large public bath and said it was very spacious and comfortable. Drinks and light snacks in the lobby were included, which is amazing. I’d love to come back again. However, I am concerned about bear sightings—I hope there will be a day when bears can live peacefully in the forest.

    It’s a wonderful Hotel.

I stayed at this Hotel with my mother, daughter, and dog. Everything about it felt exceptionally well cared for. Despite being all-inclusive and reasonably priced, the interior is sophisticated (and smells wonderful), the food is thoughtfully prepared, the views are stunning, and the staff’s hospitality is outstanding—simply amazing. There were many tour groups, so the restaurant was busy at mealtimes, but they managed it well by separating times and traffic flow, making it easy to get around without stress. I was also impressed by a buffet area designed so small children can serve themselves. There were so many kinds of dishes that I couldn’t possibly try them all—I was honestly disappointed I couldn’t eat everything (in a good way). I’ve stayed at various Accommodations that allow dogs, but this is the first Hotel I’ve experienced that had no odor at all and felt this clean. The Room was spotless and very comfortable. With thoughtful touches like an escape-prevention gate, a cozy dog bed, and an on-site dog run, everything was provided. Highly recommended for anyone traveling with a dog!
