    Recently, I invited a friend to NICA. Choosing NICA from the many accommodations in Hakone was absolutely the right decision. As soon as we entered the lobby, we were greeted by a breathtaking view. The expansive windows showcased the mountains of Hakone, and in the distance, majestic Mt. Fuji made an appearance—marking the beginning of a truly special experience from the moment we arrived. The room was compact yet thoughtfully designed with all necessary amenities, allowing us to relax comfortably. The variety of light meals available through room service was impressive and highly satisfying. Dinner can only be described as "exceptional." Each dish was meticulously crafted—not only delicious but also visually stunning and moving to behold. The wine pairing stood out in particular; it harmonized perfectly with each dish and elevated our dining experience to another level of sophistication. The onsen's water quality was outstanding—our skin felt smooth and silky immediately upon soaking! Being all-inclusive allowed us to enjoy drinks freely without any concerns—a delightful bonus for those who love indulging in fine beverages. This beautifully curated space combined with heartfelt hospitality makes it a place I am eager to visit again someday.     Thank you for the wonderful experience. It truly made for a perfect holiday. ◯ Guest Room Stayed in a Hollywood Twin Room. The interior design is stylish and geared towards younger guests, offering a functional and comfortable layout rather than traditional elegance. The bed was very comfortable, and the room's layout reminded me of the Aman Group properties. This was my first stay in the Miyagino area, but as mentioned in other reviews, the refreshing view of Hakone's mountains is truly captivating. ◯ Onsen The onsen features mildly alkaline chloride spring water with relatively high sodium content. While it lacks some of the distinctive qualities often associated with onsen water—possibly due to being piped—it still offers a pleasant bathing experience. Those seeking Hakone’s signature fresh and robust natural hot springs might find it slightly lacking; however, the semi-open-air bath on the terrace provides an open atmosphere where you can enjoy breathtaking views while soaking. ◯ Cuisine The highlight of this accommodation is undoubtedly dinner. While I was already satisfied with both the guest room and onsen, dinner brought an entirely new level of delight. The beautifully presented dishes showcased refined flavors that were light yet harmonious—a testament to the chef’s exceptional skill. Additionally, thanks to a sommelier who perfectly understood our preferences and recommended ideal wine pairings, each dish became even more enjoyable, creating moments of pure bliss. Being able to indulge in exquisite wines and cuisine under an all-inclusive plan was another major plus—though I may have overindulged! Thankfully, it’s comforting to know there’s such a relaxing environment awaiting afterward. ◯ Service A young female staff member attended us during our stay. Although her approach felt slightly unpolished at times, her genuine effort to provide heartfelt hospitality beyond standard procedures left a very positive impression. All staff members were courteous throughout. ◯ Overall Impression With its outstanding cuisine complemented by comfort and stunning views, this accommodation offers an extraordinary experience like no other auberge-style retreat can provide—perfect for food enthusiasts or discerning travelers alike!     We used the facility...

    We used the facility to celebrate our child's graduation. Based on the customer information filled out at check-in, when serving the welcome drink, they congratulated us on the graduation and also wished a happy birthday, which was a thoughtful gesture (as it was our child's birth month). The food was delicious, and the Onsen with natural hot spring water was excellent. The hospitality of the staff was wonderful, making our stay very pleasant. Thank you very much.

    We stayed at the property three years ago for my wife's birthday, and this is our second visit. The staff's attention to detail makes it a property where we would love to stay for several days if possible.     Girls' Night at Our House

    My wife and two daughters stayed from February 16th. Previously, my wife and I stayed twice and were very satisfied, so we used it for the first trip with my wife and daughters this time. Our two daughters had heard a lot about our wonderful experiences at NICA from us, so they visited with high expectations. However, the room, bath, meals, and drinks exceeded their expectations and they were very satisfied. On the way back, they were taken to a sushi restaurant near Gora Station in your group of properties where they enjoyed delightful conversations and delicious sushi until full. They said it was also very satisfying. This time I was on standby as the reservation manager but received always polite emails confirming reservations which made me feel really good about this hotel. My daughter has become such a fan of NICA that she has started saving money aiming for a dream multiple night stay there. Next time I would like to join them to fully enjoy Hakone and NICA myself too. Thank you for your heartfelt hospitality.

    Spend a blissful moment

    Welcomed by the wonderful smiles of the staff, we checked in while enjoying a welcome champagne. As soon as we entered the Room, we requested a refill of champagne and some snacks through room service. The selection of three types of cheese, prosciutto, and Basque maple cheesecake was exquisite!! From 6 PM, it was time for dinner that we had been looking forward to. Entering the restaurant with excitement, our usual sommelier offered an excellent wine selection and the dishes were as beautiful and delicious as expected. The king crab was decorated so beautifully that it could be mistaken for dessert! We were moved by its gentle taste; also pleasantly surprised by the combination of shirako (cod milt) and seri (Japanese parsley). The comparison tasting of different parts of Seiroku beef was truly delicious, making it a happy dinner time. Since last year we've been curious about breakfast because it's important to us; they seemed to have put great effort into ingredients and menu options resulting in a delicious breakfast that started our day wonderfully. Thank you very much. We will visit again.

    Almost completely satisfied.

    After making a Reservation, I referred to the Review and aimed for a 3 PM check-in. To fully enjoy the all-inclusive experience, I headed straight to the counter bar after entering the Room. There, I sampled sparkling wine and both white and red wines in small amounts to find my favorite. While drinking, the front desk staff kindly prepared a cheese platter for me—truly attentive service! It felt like enjoying drinks on my own sofa at home. For dinner, some dishes were slightly salty, but considering our age, it was understandable. The thoroughness of changing wines with each dish made it an enjoyable time until the end. Breakfast was served in our Room and it was excellent! We were very satisfied with breakfast as well. Since this was our first stay at this Property, next time we plan to make more meaningful use of our time during our stay at Property NICA by planning ahead—I definitely want to make another Reservation here again!

    It was a wonderful stay. The service, food, and drinks were excellent!

    I have been staying at the Hakone ZEN property every year, and I had always wanted to visit the Hakone NICA property, so for our 6th anniversary, we decided to treat ourselves with a stay. Both my partner and I enjoy alcohol, so we were really looking forward to the all-inclusive experience. Although we have used hotel club lounges and experienced all-inclusive stays at overseas hotels before, it was often more about the joy of "all-you-can-drink" rather than satisfaction with the content itself. This was our first time experiencing such high satisfaction with each dish and drink. Even though we arrived at the station a little earlier than expected, they kindly came to pick us up. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink of champagne. After checking in, we enjoyed room service that included "smoked platter," "Basque cheesecake," and "sausages." Since drinks from the lounge could be brought back to our room, we took two types of wine back to enjoy while soaking in the onsen before dinner. There was also sparkling wine and beer chilled in our room, which made it easy to enjoy drinks while relaxing in the onsen (with room service you need to get dressed once to receive it). The system where alcohol is available in-room & lounge drinks can be taken back was delightful. When taking drinks from the lounge back as well as when requesting additional room service items like food or beverages they would say “Please eat & drink plenty＾＾” which added warmth. The onsen is free-flowing allowing you access anytime during your stay making sure you can soak up thoroughly enjoying yourself throughout your visit. Regarding meals especially dinner full course visually stunning each dish deliciously impressive particularly shrimp tartare main meat dish truly delectable paired perfectly by sommelier’s wine selection (including different types not found within lounge) conversation included creating wonderful moments post-dinner cocktails crafted personally ensuring memorable hospitality throughout entire stay. Quality shampoo amenities appreciated especially hand cream given dry season only suggestion perhaps ReFa showerhead rental head massage availability would enhance experience further felt gratefulness towards staff definitely plan return thank sincerely much appreciated!

    Hospitality Stays

    We stayed at the property to celebrate our slightly belated wedding anniversary. The subtle hospitality was impeccable, and I understood why everyone praises it. I was surprised to find it so deep in Miyagino, but the view from the room, overlooking Gora and even seeing Mount Fuji, with beautiful night views as well, made me think it was built in a great location. At first announcement, there was no guidance on Western breakfast options; when we asked about it, they went to check for us—there were some mix-ups like this. Also, although we ordered Ise lobster and kinmedai for breakfast, we received two lobsters instead; however, they promptly grilled kinmedai for us—impressive service indeed. With room service snacks and drinks, my husband drank too much and ended up sleeping for an hour. Dinner was also very delicious; however, he drank too much of the recommended sake again and couldn't make it through dessert—they kindly brought everything including a celebratory cake plate to our room despite causing them trouble. The next morning's thoughtful gesture of framing our photo on the dining table added a nice touch. It’s delightful that you can choose between Japanese or Western breakfast—the bread was particularly delicious. We had some trouble adjusting the temperature of the open-air bath in our room but realized turning it off or on would suffice—it being winter allowed us to adjust bathroom temperature by opening or closing windows which worked well too. We change properties every year when staying in Hakone but found this one best so far—we’d love to repeat! There were minor mix-ups hence one rating is 4 out of 5 otherwise almost all are 5s—we were very satisfied overall!

    Memories of the Silver Wedding Anniversary

    I was impressed by the location with a panoramic view of Gora. Dinner in the lounge, where you can enjoy the night view, was delightful as I savored wine available on free flow while imagining dishes from a menu that only listed ingredients. The Room was well soundproofed, allowing for quiet relaxation even on a windy day. The open-air bath was just the right size for two people and allowed us to leisurely enjoy views of Gora town. Thanks to the attentive service and consideration of the staff, we had a very enjoyable and elegant time from check-in to check-out, making it a wonderful memory for our silver wedding anniversary. We would love to use this service again.

    The best Hotel

    Both the cuisine and the Room were absolutely exceptional. The view from the Hotel offered not only Mount Fuji but also a stunning nightscape of Gora at night, allowing us to enjoy both the beauty of nature and the city lights. The cuisine was a fusion of French and Japanese, with both taste and presentation being outstanding. The menu, which only listed the names of the ingredients, added an element of surprise and excitement as we imagined the next dish, making the dining experience enjoyable until the very end. The Onsen was designed as a semi-open-air bath, allowing us to enjoy the Gora Onsen while feeling a gentle breeze from outside. The excellent quality of the spring water made it so comfortable that we wanted to bathe in it over and over again. From start to finish, it was a wonderful Hotel. Thank you to all the staff for your warm hospitality. Thanks to you, we had an amazing vacation. We would love to visit again.

    Solo Travel

    I used the facility to celebrate a birthday. The staff were very kind, and I was able to spend a memorable day. Since I am not good with alcohol, I tried the gin and celebratory champagne recommended in the Review, and enjoyed tea paired with the meal, all of which were very delicious. I forgot to buy the smoked hojicha to take home... I definitely want to have a Multiple Night Stay for next year's birthday. I couldn't wait, so I already made a Reservation for spring. I wish I could drive there, but there are narrow roads, so I’m only worried if my driving skills will be sufficient. The semi-open-air bath was so pleasant that I used it multiple times. I can't express it well, but I am extremely satisfied. Thank you very much to all the staff for your great hospitality.

    It was a very good Hotel!!

    It was the Hotel we chose for our last couple's trip before our child was born, and it was wonderful. The Room, meals, bath, and service were all of a high standard, making it a very satisfying stay. It's a Hotel we would like to visit again.

    I am completely satisfied with everything!

    It was my first stay at the Property, but I was so impressed that I immediately made a Reservation for my next visit during dinner! Since I traveled by train, I appreciated the Shuttle Service to Gora Station. This time, I wanted to relax completely, so I didn’t do any sightseeing at all. The Room was spacious enough, comfortable, and relaxing. The onsen with natural hot spring water was delightful, and since it was okay to wear the in-house attire for meals, I didn’t have to deal with the hassle of changing clothes before and after meals. I enjoyed the bath a total of four times. I was lucky enough to have dinner in the lounge, where I could savor a wonderful meal and wine pairing while enjoying the spectacular night view. Although it was creative French cuisine, it wasn’t heavy at all, and even for us, a couple in our early senior years with smaller appetites, it was a truly delicious and satisfying dinner that didn’t leave us feeling overly full. The sommelier was very entertaining, and perhaps because of the free-flow option, I ended up drinking much more alcohol than usual. However, I didn’t feel overly intoxicated and woke up feeling refreshed the next morning. The meal was so fantastic that I immediately made a Reservation for a Saturday in March, even though there was only one Room left! If I had one minor complaint, it would be that the welcome champagne in the Room would have been even better if it were a half bottle. Drinking a full bottle might make me too tipsy to enjoy the dinner pairing. I’m sorry for leaving some unfinished. I’m already looking forward to visiting again in March!

    A perfect Property for ultimate relaxation

    Honestly, everything was nearly perfect. The Onsen in the Room was incredibly relaxing. The amenities were flawless. The Facility that warms towels when hung was especially great during winter. It was comforting to use a warm towel after drying off. Skincare sets and other items were already provided from the start. The brand was the same as Ritz. At Ritz, they didn’t bring the care set unless requested. Also, having pajamas and loungewear prepared was a nice touch. Being able to change into loungewear after arrival and enjoy meals was great. It’s wonderful to relax without worrying about a dress code. The all-inclusive service was also excellent. Even wine pairing during dinner was included. The sommelier provided the perfect pairing, making for a delightful experience. Because it was so good, I’d like to share a few points that caught my attention. These are minor details, but I thought I’d mention them. I wish the luggage could have been picked up a bit quicker upon arrival. It was valet parking, but when I got into the car on departure, the driving position had been changed. Since my car has memory settings, I could adjust it back quickly, but still. The staff’s name tags were hard to read. Since it’s a cozy and lovely Hotel, I wanted to address them by name. When calling for Room service, it would have been nice if they addressed me by name. Given the limited number of guests, addressing by name would enhance the sense of exclusivity. If the limited number of guests is a feature, it would be even better if luggage pickup to the Room was offered during check-out as well. I apologize for pointing out such small details. I only mention them because I thought it was so close to perfect. I look forward to staying again. Thank you very much.

    The Hotel is perfect! However, occasionally the clientele is the worst.

    The Property was truly a wonderful Hotel with excellent service, Facilities, cuisine, and baths. However, my stay was marred by being accommodated alongside a group of young men and women whose behavior was not in line with the elegance of the Property. From the moment of arrival, their loud and disruptive behavior ruined the atmosphere. While enjoying the view of Hakone from the balcony, the noise from a couple fooling around in the bath was unbearable. To make matters worse, as I was appreciating the scenery downstairs, I ended up being drenched by water spilled by the same couple from above. The noise continued into the night... Fortunately, as I stayed for two nights, I was able to fully enjoy the true excellence of the Property on the second day, including the meals, wine pairing, and exceptional service. As mentioned in other Reviews, the presence of guests who do not match the Property's standards may detract from its true charm.

    Wonderful Stays. Definitely a repeat.

    I have stayed at several Stays in Hakone within this price range, and in a word, it was the best. Being able to drink alcohol without worrying about money during the stay is an incomparable happiness. In luxury Stays, the cost of alcohol can add up significantly, so many people might worry about the drink costs during meals or regret the bill at checkout. This Property offers a great selection of high-quality alcohol, so I felt I could truly relax without worrying about the price. Not only the alcohol, but both breakfast and dinner were very delicious, and the Room and Onsen were also excellent. The staff were very kind, and I never felt uncomfortable during my stay. We were picked up by a TOYOTA, but on the way back, we were given a Shuttle Service by a Porsche. It was an amazing experience! Next time, I would love to request a Porsche for the arrival as well. Haha

    The dinner was particularly exquisite.

    Anyway, the dinner was amazing. The free flow was not just about being able to drink anything, but I felt that a carefully selected range was available. (Everything I drank was very delicious, and I was tipsy throughout my stay. Haha) The bath was also excellent, and perhaps because everything was so great, the breakfast might have been a bit ordinary. However, it's not that it wasn't delicious; it's just a reflection of the high expectations set by the previous experiences. I definitely want to stay again.

    With someone special

    We stayed with three generations, a total of nine people, to celebrate my father's birthday. The space and time were relaxing, and each private room had its own onsen bath, fulfilling my father's wish to enjoy an open-air bath in January at this wonderful property. Even I, who usually don't get to enjoy onsen much, bathed three times during our one-night, two-day stay, and my skin became really smooth! The grandchildren's generation was impressed by the beautiful cuisine paired with wine and tea. Thank you to all the hospitable staff who created a warm and happy time for us.

    Is it a hotel where you can enjoy free flow?

    It was a long-awaited visit. From the welcome to the meal service and the farewell, the smiles and attentiveness of the staff were truly wonderful. However, the disappointment was with the meals. While you accommodated my food preferences, the warm dishes were cold. Perhaps the plates being cold was the cause. Additionally, there were many dishes with sour flavors and sauces, making the meals feel lacking in contrast. The dessert was served in the room, but the cake still had parchment paper on it, which I only noticed after putting it in my mouth, leading to an unpleasant situation. The worst was the breakfast hot pot. Since I am not fond of meat, I was provided with a spiny lobster hot pot, but I was shocked by the overwhelming saltiness the moment I tasted it. I don't know who prepared it, but did they taste it? Such a level of saltiness that makes it hard to swallow is unhealthy. The simmered fish was also difficult to eat due to its poor texture. For those who enjoy a lot of drinks with the free-flow style, it might be satisfying, but for other guests, this content is challenging. This was the reason for my long-awaited visit, but I was disappointed to see no improvements. It's a delightful hotel for those who enjoy the free-flow style of drinking and eating. I feel you are doing your best to operate at this price point. I look forward to further development. Thank you for this experience.

    The best time.

    I visited for an anniversary. The cuisine was wonderful, with an excellent balance of saltiness, sourness, and sweetness. The marriage of the sauce and garnish that brought out the best in the ingredients was breathtaking. I was convinced when the sommelier told me that they used to work at Mirador, a place I loved and visited several times in the past. The pairing chosen by the sommelier to match the dishes was also perfect, allowing me to thoroughly enjoy the meal. The service staff and front desk staff all had smiles and I could feel their heartfelt hospitality, which made me feel very relaxed. The room was neatly organized, clean, and comfortable, and the quality of the Onsen, which I love, was excellent, allowing me to enjoy it multiple times. Overall, it was the best experience, and I realized once again that a good facility is really about the people. I will work hard again and visit for a reward trip. Thank you for the wonderful time.

    The atmosphere and cost performance are both excellent.

    The staff at the hotel are kind and pleasant. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were immediately served drinks and snacks in the lounge. After that, entering the room, I was impressed by the ice pail prepared for the sparkling wine bottle. The meals, which can be enjoyed in the hotel attire, are stylish and offer a wide variety. Drinks and food are inclusive, so there was a wide selection of alcohol, and although I drank too much, it was fun. The snacks, especially the smoked items, were delicious. The room was thoroughly cleaned, with plenty of towels and amenities, comparable to other top-notch hotels. Notably, the quality of the Onsen water was excellent, and by opening two windows, the bath became like an open-air bath, which we enjoyed many times. I think it was relaxing to spend time without seeing other guests in the dining area or lounge, allowing us to unwind without any worries.

    I arrived early at Gora Station, but when I called, they kindly came to pick me up, and the conversation with the shuttle service staff was just right, leaving a good impression. Also, they accommodated a change in breakfast time, allowing me to enjoy a leisurely meal in the room. All the staff were pleasant, making my stay very comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed the free-flow dinner and was very satisfied. It's the perfect property for those who love alcohol. Regarding the room, I opened the glass door of the bathroom, but there seemed to be some malfunction or missing part, making it difficult to slide, and I couldn't enjoy the onsen with the door open. I managed to open it, but closing it was quite a struggle. Well, since there was no problem with the onsen itself, I would like to consider it acceptable, but it was a bit disappointing. Overall, I am satisfied.

    We were very satisfied with the hospitality, cuisine, and location. We requested a pairing during dinner, so both of us ended up drinking too much and couldn't enjoy much else. It's a shame. Next time, we plan to enjoy dinner with less alcohol. Thank you for taking care of us.

    The weather was very...

    The weather was very nice on the day of our stay, and because the property is located on a hill, we had a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji. The room was spacious with an open-air bath, the room wear was stylish, and the room service offered light meals and all-you-can-drink options, which was fantastic. There was a drink bar at the front desk and drinks available in the room, but even the variety in the room was so extensive that we couldn't finish them all. The meals were quite filling, so I regret not ordering any snacks. Next time, I would like to try different drinks and enjoy some light meals in the room. The meals that satisfied our appetite were very delicious. In the evening, we enjoyed exquisite French cuisine with wine, and in the morning, we had a luxurious Japanese breakfast with many small dishes. There were also dishes inspired by black eggs, allowing us to enjoy the unique flavors of Hakone. We were picked up and dropped off at Gora Station by train or bus, which was free of charge, but the driving was a bit rough, and I felt slightly car sick, so I have to deduct a point for that. However, overall, it was a wonderful space, and we were very satisfied. Thank you very much!

    We had a wonderful time.

    The price was a bit high for a year-end stay, and I hesitated when making the reservation, but it was worth the cost once I actually stayed. With only 8 rooms? So, contact with other guests was only during meals. Even during meals, most were separated like semi-private rooms, so we didn't worry much about each other. The bath is only in the room. The water temperature was just right, and it was nice to take a quick dip whenever I wanted and relax in a bathrobe. The step in the bathtub was great, allowing me to sit and read or lie down and relax. The room is compact but sufficient. On the contrary, the refrigerator, bath, and bed are close, so you can relax within easy reach. Our family, who loves to eat, was very satisfied with the room service. We were impressed by the deliciousness of the smoked dishes and were soothed by the post-bath somen noodles and Basque cheesecake. I thought room service wouldn't be much, but each dish had a special taste. The meals were truly wonderful, each dish was as beautiful as art, and it was something that could be enjoyed with all five senses, not just visually but also in taste. It's a free flow. There was an opinion that it might be a loss for our family since the children in middle and high school and the mother can't drink alcohol, but the non-alcoholic lineup was also excellent. The pairing with Japanese tea was delicious and enjoyable, and we were impressed by the taste of the serious juice. The staff were friendly and provided pleasant service, making it very comfortable. The in-house wear was also comfortable, and the jacket-like design didn't look sloppy, making the photos with the French course look great. It was a luxurious stay with attentive service down to the details. There are places where you think, "The elevator doesn't come," or "There's a lounge, but it's far," even at famous luxury ryokan in Hakone, but here everything is perfectly wonderful. I hope they will continue to maintain the excellence of their service and facilities. I will definitely visit again.

    The hospitality was wonderful. It became the best memory.

    I chose this property in Hakone for a proposal, considering other people's reviews. Although I had seen reviews praising the hospitality, it was far more wonderful than I had anticipated. For the proposal, they offered various suggestions and assistance for the presentation. On the day, the staff were all informed of the details, and everyone I consulted was happy to help, making both my partner and me truly satisfied. The atmosphere of the room, the excellence of the cuisine, and the surprises were enjoyable, allowing us to spend a leisurely and quality time. It was a place that I sincerely wish to visit again.

    I stayed for the fir...

    I stayed for the first time on my birthday. The road to the hotel was a bit confusing, and I was nervous about whether I could reach it properly, but a chic and lovely hotel awaited me upon arrival. The warm welcome from the staff and the welcome champagne were very delightful. In the room, chilled champagne was prepared, and my husband was overjoyed. The dinner at night was truly beautiful and delicious, and the wine pairing was excellent. I was happy to have spent a memorable birthday. In the morning, I had a luxurious Japanese set meal in the room, and it felt like my body was rejoicing. The onsen was also gentle. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you to the chef and all the staff for taking care of us.

    A series of surprises...

    Throughout, it was a property with attentive hospitality. The scenery, the cuisine, the room... I truly felt it was great to visit. The service staff's response was particularly pleasant, and even though they had their next tasks after breakfast, they stayed to chat with us, which was very much appreciated. It was enjoyable until the end. The chef also greeted each guest individually after their meal, which was impressive. I hope to visit again. The only downside in terms of amenities was that the shampoo and conditioner were in bottles, which was a bit disappointing despite the cosmetics being well-stocked.
