    I’ve found another favorite Accommodation in Hakone.

    I visited with my daughter. The meals were outstanding. The dishes were carefully prepared without being overly gimmicky, and the ingredients really shone through. In particular, the combination of cauliflower purée sauce and red shrimp tartare was excellent. The dessert made with local citrus was also truly impressive. I was also impressed that the free-flow wine selection included Perrier and a Pauillac second wine. Just one note: the bath water temperature in the Room was sometimes much hotter than indicated, so it might be helpful to add a notice such as “Please check the temperature before entering.” Perhaps this is due to adding high-temperature spring water. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay with absolutely no complaints. I would love to visit again.

    We had a relaxing and comfortable stay. We had seen some Reviews saying it was more suited to younger guests, but as a couple in our 70s, we felt completely at ease and were warmly welcomed. We are truly grateful to all the staff. Their refreshing smiles were incredibly soothing. The meals were outstanding—we were deeply impressed by the freshness and high quality of the ingredients, and by the delicately seasoned dinner with an artistic touch. The breakfast smoothie, shabu-shabu, and fluffy rice were all delicious. Although we usually eat small portions, we ended up enjoying quite a lot because everything was so good. We hadn’t mentioned it (a secret?), but it happened to be my birthday month, so at the end of dinner a celebratory birthday plate was suddenly brought out right in front of us. The surprise made us truly happy, and the cake was absolutely wonderful. The bath was very pleasant as well, and even the futon—rare for me—had exactly the feel I like. It was a fantastic stay. Thank you very much.

    Unfortunately...

    This is a secluded Hotel with a panoramic view over Hakone Town. Starting with the welcome drink, drinks in the Room and at the front desk, as well as room service, are all-inclusive. The fluffy slippers and sophisticated interior let us enjoy an extraordinary atmosphere. Both the food and the paired wines were delicious. However, there were some disappointing moments. Since it was my birthday, they prepared a message plate and took commemorative photos for us, but the timing was extremely poor. We had requested room service after our bath, and they came at that exact moment—so the photo was taken with me bare-faced in a bathrobe. Also, at breakfast they spilled tea when placing the tray, and it was unbelievable that my name on the Receipt was incorrect. This may be a harsh Review, but given what we paid, it was disappointing.

    Thoughtful hospitality and fun

    This was our first stay, celebrating my husband’s birthday. We had often talked about visiting someday, so it was a dream come true. From the moment we arrived, we were met with thoughtful attention throughout, and we felt truly comfortable and completely relaxed during our stay. At dinner, we were recommended a variety of alcoholic drinks, each explained carefully every time. The food was delicious, of course, and it made for a very enjoyable evening. As for the Onsen in the Room, adjusting the temperature was a bit tricky—when it felt lukewarm and we raised it slightly, it quickly became too hot. That was the only small point that stood out. Overall, we were extremely satisfied, and my husband was delighted as well, so we’re very glad we chose to stay here.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    This was my first stay. All of the staff were very pleasant, and I was able to truly relax. The Room and the bath were both excellent. Perhaps my expectations for dinner were too high, but I felt a little disappointed. Breakfast was good. With such wonderful staff, I think this is a lovely Hotel where you can really unwind. Thank you very much.

    We enjoyed our stay.

    As our Room was on the second floor, we enjoyed a great view from the window. After settling in, we went down to the lobby floor to enjoy a variety of drinks, and they also served us a cheese platter, so we really enjoyed the free-flow. For dinner, we requested reduced salt, and the meal was thoughtfully seasoned. There was one tuna dish where the sinew was difficult to cut, but everything else was delicious. This is an Accommodation I would like to make another Reservation for.

    It was great!

    This Accommodation delivered an outstanding experience overall, and it’s a place I’d love to visit again. The all-inclusive offerings were excellent, and I was able to relax comfortably throughout my stay without any worries. I was also lucky enough to see Mt. Fuji from my Room at just the right time, which really added to the special, out-of-the-ordinary feeling. Dinner was another highlight—I truly enjoyed the meal in a calm, relaxing atmosphere. One small disappointment was that the morning green smoothie was sold out, so I couldn’t try it—but I’ll look forward to it next time. I imagine it must be challenging to maintain this level of service with rising costs, but I sincerely hope you’ll keep it up. It felt like truly one-of-a-kind service that’s hard to find elsewhere. I have another favorite Accommodation in Hokkaido that offers a similar level of service, so I’m genuinely glad to have found an Accommodation nearby with the same quality. I’d love to return again.

    It was the best auberge in Hakone.

    This was our fourth stay. Providing attentive service without being overbearing is not easy, but you maintained the perfect balance—present when needed and respectfully unobtrusive—so we were able to relax in comfort. Also, since we are not good with alcohol, thank you for thoughtfully preparing non-alcoholic sparkling wine in our Room. The chilled sparkling drink truly hit the spot—both after a long drive and after a soak in the Onsen. Both dinner and breakfast were an impressive upgrade compared with our previous visit. Everything was delicious. Please tell the owner-chef, “Your skills have improved even more.” From the local produce we felt the strength of the earth; from seafood, the strength of water; from the Onsen, the strength of fire; and from the surrounding forest, the strength of wood. We were able to recharge ourselves with all that Gora Miyagino has to offer. We hope to stay with you again soon. Until then, we will make use of that renewed energy and do our best each day. Thank you very much for your hospitality. The meals were wonderful. We will be back.

    I visited again afte...

    I visited again after a year, and it was a wonderful start to my stay, welcomed first by Ms. S’s bright and warm smile. For dinner, I chose game meat that I don’t usually eat, and it was surprisingly delicious; every dish showed the chef’s creativity, and I enjoyed it to the very end. Mr. T’s smart and precise service while serving the meal also made me feel very relaxed. The only issue was that my companion said the scales on the overnight-dried splendid alfonsino at breakfast were too hard and made it difficult to eat. Since we always seem to come in winter, next time I’d like to visit before the extreme summer heat. Thank you for a wonderful rest!

    The finest Accommodation for an indulgent stay

    We stayed here to celebrate a birthday. When we consulted in advance about ingredients we can’t eat and a birthday plate, they kindly accommodated our requests. Both dinner and breakfast were the most delicious we’ve ever had at any Accommodation. The pacing and portions were perfect, and the wine pairing matched beautifully. Everyone was very courteous, and the service was offered exactly when we needed it, so we could relax throughout our stay. Comfortable loungewear and sleepwear were provided. The cleaning was also impeccable, and we appreciated the thoughtful details—such as the warm heated floor in the washroom area and a towel warmer. We believe this is an outstanding Accommodation where you can enjoy a truly luxurious time. We’d love to visit again for another special occasion!

    I had a very satisfying stay.

    The Onsen, the meals, and the staff’s service were outstanding in every way. It wasn’t just all-inclusive—the quality of both the food and drinks was exceptionally high. From the excellent hospitality to the high-quality amenities, we could truly feel the Hotel’s commitment and effort to ensure guests are satisfied, making for a very comfortable stay.     This was a return visit, but I noticed changes in the service.

    When I stayed here for the first time at the end of 2024, everything—including the service and the food—was wonderful, and I was very satisfied, so I chose to stay again at the beginning of this year. However, this time I felt that the overall quality of service had declined compared with before, which was disappointing. Not only the food but also the initial guidance to my Room felt different: a non-Japanese staff member assisted us, but their Japanese was quite difficult to understand, and it did not feel as attentive as it did during my previous stay. Last time, there were thoughtful touches such as neatly arranging our shoes while explaining the Room, but this time there was no such consideration. Also, I had previously been told that dinner could be served in the Room, but this time I was informed that this is no longer available, which was also disappointing. During my last stay, they even gave me the chopsticks used at dinner as a keepsake—a heartfelt gesture that left a strong impression—so I couldn’t help but notice the difference this time. My partner who stayed with me seemed to feel the same way. Considering this price range for an Accommodation, it made me think we might have been better off choosing another place. Because it had been a Ryokan I truly liked, this stay felt especially disappointing.

    An Accommodation Experience Full of Pleasant Surprises

    I found this Accommodation on IKYU a few months ago and stayed here for the first time on this trip. Every moment of my stay was wonderful. The attentive, courteous service, along with the high-quality Room interior and amenities, was outstanding. The Onsen was exceptional as well. Everything was comfortable down to the smallest details, and I felt it was thoughtfully designed from the guest’s perspective. Both dinner and breakfast were truly delicious. I will definitely return again.

    When planning a birt...

    When planning a birthday trip, I noticed this place—one I’d been interested in for a while—had one Room available, so I immediately made a Reservation! My partner was originally going to Reserve it, but I didn’t want the Room to be taken, so I quickly completed the Reservation myself. Sorry if it was unclear whose birthday it was. The Shuttle Service to Gora Station was smooth, and the staff were wonderful throughout, making our stay truly satisfying. Everything—from room service to the meals—was delicious, and the Japanese tea pairing in particular felt fresh and memorable. They also carefully confirmed my allergy requirements multiple times (at Reservation time, by email in advance, and again on the day), which made me feel at ease. We usually don’t return to the same Hotel or Ryokan because there are so many places we want to visit, but this is a Hotel we’d love to visit again in a different season.

    This is the best accommodation.

    I’ve stayed here many times, but this is my first review. I travel a lot, and this is the first place I’ve ever returned to so often. Even though I travel every month, I always find myself coming back to NICA. All the staff are kind and genuinely welcoming, and I’m always grateful to Sommelier Mr. I for introducing me to new drinks each time. Even my mother, who can’t drink much alcohol, looks forward to it. I don’t eat a lot and may be making things difficult for the chef, but the food is so delicious that other places leave me disappointed in comparison. I’m already looking forward to next month.

    Both the Onsen and the meals were extremely satisfying. Since I was traveling with my aunt, I couldn’t fully enjoy the complimentary wine as much as I would have liked, but I was amazed by the wide variety available! This Accommodation made me want to come back next time with my daughter and enjoy everything to the fullest.

    An Elegant New Year’s Celebration… or So We Thought.

    We decided to spend this New Year’s quietly as a couple, so we chose Hakone NICA on IKYU.com. After getting a feel for it on YouTube, we headed to Hakone! Because it’s all-inclusive, unlimited drinks were one of the reasons we chose it. The food was also very good. What was disappointing, however, was the staff service—especially from the man who handles both the Shuttle Service from Gora Station and sommelier duties. His attitude felt very overbearing, as if he were doing us a favor, and he didn’t seem to have any intention of helping guests relax and enjoy their time. When I told him during sommelier service that I appreciated learning about different drinks, he replied, “First I have to assert myself!” Is it really acceptable to say something so arrogant? I suppose that’s just his personality, but my impression was that he isn’t suited to customer service. After spending a considerable amount for what we hoped would be a luxurious New Year’s stay, his self-centered remarks and behavior left us feeling uncomfortable. Next time we stay at a nice Accommodation, I’ll make sure to read more guest posts about the staff before deciding.

    We were extremely satisfied!

    Thank you for taking such great care of us during our stay. Thanks to all the staff, we were able to spend our time comfortably from welcome to farewell. The Room was clean, the bath was very relaxing, and we thoroughly enjoyed the room service as well. What impressed us most was the dining. Not only was everything delicious, but the paired teas and the timing of service were outstanding—you matched our pace perfectly—so we felt truly comfortable and left completely satisfied and happily full! As I also wrote in the paper questionnaire, the Basque cheesecake from room service was so delicious that it would have been perfect if we could have had it after breakfast. We would definitely like to visit again.

    For our second stay,...

    For our second stay, the accommodation kindly changed the menu from last time. While I was excited to try new flavors, I also felt a bit disappointed not being able to enjoy the dishes that impressed me before. However, I truly appreciated their thoughtful gesture. The staff maintained a perfect balance of attentiveness and distance, making our stay very comfortable. That said, as others have mentioned, despite being a Diamond member, we did not receive any membership benefits during our stay. It was only on our way home that we realized this oversight, which was unfortunate.

    I made the reservation as a last trip during my 7th month of pregnancy. Since I mentioned being pregnant at the time of booking, the room was stocked with plenty of non-alcoholic beverages. The room service had a wide variety, and the Basque cheesecake was especially delicious. The bathroom had a towel warmer, which made used towels warm and dry—a small but delightful touch. The bathtub in the room could be adjusted to just the right temperature for a comfortable soak. During dinner, raw food was initially served, which made me wonder if they forgot about my pregnancy. However, they noticed before I started eating and replaced it—just in time! Breakfast was served in-room with plenty of dishes to choose from, which was great. One downside: while taking a bath in the morning, I noticed a smell of cigarettes that bothered me quite a bit. Lastly, although it said that writing a review about the entire stay would earn me an exclusive novelty gift, I didn’t receive one. What happened?

    The meals were good, but

    This was our first stay here. We took this trip as a year-end getaway for the two of us, and with only a small number of Rooms and an all-day free-flow service, it was perfect for us as we enjoy drinking. Dinner, which we had been looking forward to, truly lived up to expectations—we thoroughly enjoyed everything through dessert. The menu listed only the ingredients rather than dish names, which made it even more exciting, and the paired wines were delicious as well. The in-Room room service snacks were also great, and the inari sushi we were given after dinner was perfect for a late-night bite. The semi-open-air bath in the Room allowed temperature adjustment, so it was easy to use; we enjoyed going in and out many times. The amenity selection was excellent, and having a spacious vanity area with two sinks was another big plus. However, there were a few disappointing points: the staff member who escorted us to our Room after check-in was not very pleasant; because the vanity area has floor heating, controlling both room temperature and dryness was quite difficult; and there were still water stains on the bath bucket and chair. Also, while the rice at breakfast was very tasty, overall it felt closer to a very ordinary Japanese breakfast set, which was slightly disappointing. Considering the price, this stay made us hesitate about returning.

    This was my second stay. I have stayed at various Ryokan throughout the whole country, but the heartfelt hospitality of your staff was especially memorable and truly moving. Even though you were busy, your attentive service never showed it, and I felt comfortable throughout my stay. Every meal was delicious, and it was a thoroughly satisfying visit in every respect.     It was amazing!

    The Room was stylish and lovely, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The semi-open-air bath felt wonderfully spacious, and soaking while looking at the autumn leaves and Mt. Fuji was the best! The food was astonishingly delicious across the board, and the paired drinks were a perfect match—truly impressive. The tableware and presentation were beautiful as well, making every dish a delight to look at. Above all, this Hotel’s staff provided thoughtful, attentive service that made our stay especially pleasant and memorable. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    The Room, Onsen, cuisine, drinks, views, hospitality, staff—every aspect of the Hotel was outstanding.     The Facility and service were exactly as expected, and we were completely satisfied. We thought there might be too many dishes, but each one was creative and served in just the right portion, so we enjoyed everything without any issue. Every paired wine was delicious—be careful not to drink too much. The open-air bath was also outstanding, and it was great that we could use it anytime, 24 hours a day. My wife was very satisfied as well, and I think this is the perfect Hotel for a relaxing stay in Hakone.
