    I am a returning guest.

    I have stayed here several times. The Onsen is wonderful, and the meals are always creatively prepared with seasonal ingredients, making them truly delicious. This time, we also used the private bath, allowing us to relax as a couple. I look forward to staying here again. Thank you in advance for your hospitality.

    Healing Journey

    In terms of location, it is set a bit back from Lake Biwa, so the view was not great. However, the atmosphere inside the facility was very pleasant, and the lounge had a foot bath and massage chairs, allowing for a relaxing time. On recent trips, I often can't finish all the meals, but the creatively prepared dishes and moderate portions allowed me to enjoy and savor the meal to the end. For breakfast, you can choose between a buffet or a Japanese set meal. I chose the buffet because I wanted to eat without leaving any food, but I felt it might have been nice to have the Japanese set meal in a private room like dinner. The interior was a bit maze-like, and some elderly guests got lost. Personally, it was a very pleasant stay.

    A property where you can have a pleasant stay.

    We had a pleasant stay as a couple. From the time of reservation, we received considerate service, and I felt, "This is a good property." Upon check-in, the interior was filled with flowers and decorations, exuding elegance. The room had a renewed feel, but there was no sign of aging, truly a Japanese modern room. However, the refrigerator's temperature was low, resulting in lukewarm drinks, and the TV angle was bad and couldn't be adjusted. The open-air bath was particularly wonderful, allowing us to bathe while admiring the garden trees. The private bath also had a pleasant "wood scent." The cuisine was elaborate, and the trout sashimi is unforgettable. We were also served sparkling wine for our anniversary as a couple. However, I wished the breakfast buffet had more local dishes and a greater variety. Choosing Yumotokan (Yumotokan) for our anniversary was a great decision. Thank you to all the staff for taking care of us. Thanks to you, we were able to spend a happy time.

    First visit to Ogoto Onsen

    I visited Ogoto Onsen for the first time. I initially had the image of a traditional Onsen, but my impression changed 180 degrees after this visit. The Room seemed to have been renovated? It was very comfortable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen (laughs). The meals and the staff's service were excellent, and I talked with my husband about wanting to stay here again as we headed home. Please take care of us when that time comes!!

    The meals are excellent.

    We visited Lake Biwa for the first time as part of our retirement trip. We decided on this onsen trip with our daughter and her husband after reading the reviews. The prompt service, the panoramic bath, the large public bath, and the private open-air bath were all excellent. The meals were visually enjoyable and delicious, making them the best. The rice cooked in a pot was also so delicious that we ended up eating too much. We were completely satisfied with everything.

    Wedding Anniversary

    Since it was an anniversary, we made a reservation at this more luxurious property than usual. We used the Kotone Private Suite, and the spacious room and warm atmosphere exceeded our expectations. The large washroom was very convenient, and the large mirror with lights was excellent. The open-air bath was constantly replenished with hot water and the temperature was adjusted, so we enjoyed it many times. It was a property we would like to stay at again.

    The meals were delicious. They were visually appealing and tasted great. The meals were impeccable. The interior was complex, and the path to the bath was a bit difficult. I was asked by a guest who got lost, "Which way should I go?" and I was at a loss for an answer. I couldn't use the rooftop open-air bath I was looking forward to, so I would like to visit again. I had informed in advance that my son has allergies and there are things he cannot eat, but I was a little anxious because there was no response. However, I was relieved as they handled it properly.

    I stayed for one night on 10/29. The pleasant demeanor of the hotel staff made for a comfortable stay. The shuttle service was much appreciated.

    Number 1 in Repeat Rate

    It had been a while since my last visit, and the property had been renovated with various updates. The meals are always delicious, and this time they exceeded my expectations! There was some construction noise, but I love this calm Stays so much that I can overlook it. However, the observation bath was being cleaned during my stay, so I couldn't use it when I went. I wish I had been informed about this in advance. Also, while the service upon arrival was courteous, there was no send-off when leaving, which was quite surprising due to the stark contrast. The young gentleman who attended to us during dinner was exceptionally considerate.

    A Little Luxury for Mother and Daughter

    Thanks to you, I was able to spend my third stay this year very comfortably. For my mother, who cannot walk long distances, this is one of the few onsen Stays where she can stay easily. We always look forward to the onsen, the Karoi lounge, and the meals. I heard that the dining area was renovated in September, and it was nice that it became a completely private room. Every dinner is creatively prepared, and while enjoying the beautiful presentation of the dishes, we savor the delicious food. One thing I found a bit disappointing was that the breakfast seemed a little lacking in both quantity and quality. In any case, thank you for taking care of us. We would like to visit again.

    Dogs and Lake Biwa

    It was a trip from a nearby place with a dog. In addition to the indoor dog run, there were even drinks prepared for dogs, and there were comfortable-looking chairs for dogs in the dining area, making it a very pet-welcoming property. The carpeted floor in the room was also appreciated for those traveling with dogs. There were a total of four onsen, and you could enjoy two of them each day, and it was nice to have a bath with a view of Lake Biwa. The dishes were very stylish, and the explanations of the food showed creativity. It was helpful that our luggage was carried both upon arrival and departure. The only thing I wondered about was that you have to send a consent form in advance to stay with a pet. I have stayed at pet-friendly hotels across the whole country, and some hotels allow it upon arrival, and if I had to say which feels better, it's the hotels that allow it upon arrival. Also, although it is not the hotel's responsibility at all, it was disappointing that I couldn't find a place to walk with my dog along the shores of Lake Biwa. Since I came to Lake Biwa, I thought it would be nice to have a few more outdoor walking spots.

    Yumotokan: A Long-Awaited Return

    The last visit with my mother-in-law was very pleasant, so this time I visited with my sister and her children, making a group of five. It had been a while since I visited Yumotokan, and it was a comfortable space. We stayed in a room with a newly renovated open-air bath, but I got so caught up in chatting with my sister that I missed out on both the garden bath and the room's open-air bath. However, we enjoyed leisurely conversations and delicious food (the breakfast buffet had just the right number of dishes and was very satisfying), and there was shuttle service for both arrival and departure. I look forward to enjoying the Onsen next time. The staff were courteous, and it was a comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    The staff were incredibly kind and provided pleasant service. I was able to relax in the private open-air bath in the guest room and the massage chair in the lounge, which helped relieve my daily fatigue. The meals were lightly seasoned to bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients, with plenty of vegetables, making them healthy and elaborate. Both the taste and presentation were excellent, but it would have been even better if the dinner had a bit more volume in the fish dishes. The guest room was user-friendly, well-cleaned, and comfortable. I was pleased that my requests were properly attended to. I would like to visit again in a different season.

    Birthday celebration

    I went there to celebrate my husband's 82nd birthday. At check-in, we were touched by the birthday greetings we received. During dinner, we were served champagne and received more birthday wishes. All the dishes were served perfectly, with hot dishes freshly made and cold dishes nicely chilled. The open-air bath in our room was at a perfect temperature, and we only managed to visit one of the baths in the facility. That's how wonderful the private open-air bath in our room was. When we expressed our gratitude at check-out, they replied that it was encouraging. We've visited four other hotels in Ogoto Onsen, but Yumotokan was the best. We talked about definitely going again for his 83rd birthday next year. Before that, I would like to go for my birthday as well. It is truly a recommended inn.

    A birthday with a special feeling

    I usually stay at Yumotokan, but since it was my birthday, I decided to stay at Karoi! I sat and checked in at the lounge with a view of Lake Biwa from the window, where I enjoyed tea and cake and relaxed. Also, there was Häagen-Dazs ice cream in the lounge, which I enjoyed deliciously after a bath! The room had an open-air bath with a great view, and there was a wide variety of tea, including drip coffee, cake, and gyokuro, which was very delicious! The meals were served in a private room, the food was delicious, and the staff were very kind and charming, which was very soothing. I look forward to staying again. Thank you for the relaxation.

    I stay here every year.

    This is my second stay this year. This time, it was our last family trip before giving birth. There are welcome sweets for our beloved dog, and breakfast includes bread and goat milk, making it an enjoyable trip for our dog too! I would like to come back next year with our child! The hot springs are also fantastic!

    The location from Osaka is good, and I am almost satisfied.

    We visited from Osaka. We toured places like Samegai (Baikamo), Omihachiman, and Shirahige Shrine, and stayed overnight. It takes just over an hour by car directly. We stayed at Kotone, and the room was renovated two years ago, with the 3S (Sort, Set in order, Shine) well-maintained, allowing us to have a comfortable stay. We were very satisfied with the open-air bath in the room and the panoramic open-air bath in the facility. Although it is a large hotel where tour buses also stop, despite having dinner at 7 PM, there were only two couples, including us, in the large dining area... We were able to enjoy a quiet and leisurely time. (Apparently, there are several dining areas within the facility.) Also, Mr. T, who served us, was bright, elegant, and truly wonderful. The satisfaction level of the dinner was top-notch. If I were to deduct points, the view from our room was a bit lacking, as the apartment building across was close, making it a bit awkward to have the curtains fully open. Also, the breakfast buffet, which started this spring, was a bit lacking in content. Is the building divided into classes? Despite it being a holiday, we hardly encountered other guests within the facility, allowing us to relax quietly and be healed.

    The welcome was poor.

    Even when I pulled up to the porte-cochère, no one came out to greet me. I had to carry my luggage inside and ask where to park the car before I could finally park.

    This was my second stay. In the evening, when I went to the large public bath, there was a lot of scum floating in the bath, making it impossible to soak in. I was able to soak in the open-air bath in the guest room with peace of mind. As for the guest room, last time the shower booth and the open-air bath were connected, which was nice, but this time I had to go through the room from the shower booth to get to the open-air bath, which was very disappointing. Perhaps to save water, the shower wouldn't run unless I kept pressing the button, which was inconvenient. The food was delicious as it was last time. Thank you for considering my dislike of certain ingredients, which I had informed you of in advance.
