    Repeat

    After an amazing stay last year, I returned almost a year later. The Room, the service, and the food are all excellent. Personally, when I stay in a Room with a private open-air bath, my criteria are: (1) being able to choose a colored yukata, (2) amenities, (3) lounge access or complimentary drinks, (4) a footbath, and (5) dining in a private room. This Ryokan has it all, so it’s outstanding. The Onsen is wonderful as well, and the detached annex is quiet and very relaxing.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    When we learned that our beloved dog, who is turning 13, was ill, we wanted to travel together. We chose this property because we could stay with our dog throughout the building, and the in-room bath was an Onsen. The hot water warmed us up and felt wonderful, and above all the meals were delicious—we were completely satisfied. My daughter, our dog, and I had a truly enjoyable stay. Thank you to all the staff for your warm hospitality and wonderful smiles.

    We highly recommend the Relaxation Room [Hakuraku]!

    The exterior feels old-fashioned—like a traditional Ryokan Hotel—but the staff who came to greet us ran over in the rain with an umbrella for guests, giving us a wonderfully warm and courteous welcome. On departure as well, a staff member who was waiting for the sightseeing bus kindly spoke to other guests too—and even gave us candy. Once we stepped into the lobby, my impression changed completely. It’s an impressive, well-funded design. There are paintings on the elevator ceilings, display shelves throughout the corridors, and most of the ikebana arrangements use fresh flowers—truly lovely. Our Room “Hakuraku” was also excellent: a unique, thoughtfully designed layout and very clean. You can watch the in-room TV from the bathtub angle, and there’s even a chair for foot baths. The bed is set directly on a mattress base, with a stylish wide floor chair provided, plus audio equipment as well. The food was outstanding from start to finish. Even my companion—usually picky, loves fast food, and doesn’t like course meals—praised it (rare for them) and happily ate everything. Dinner was served in a private room with dedicated staff: friendly with just the right amount of conversation, then leaving you to relax. Though he was a young man, his service was flawless as hospitality goes. As an Onsen lover, I found the water quality not particularly special; however, I was very satisfied with both: the beautiful view from the top-floor open-air bath (sunrise is especially recommended), and the atmospheric charm of the spacious rock bath. Service was attentive throughout by every employee. It’s rare to find an Accommodation where this level of pleasant “everyone serves” hospitality is so consistently practiced—so it deserves full marks.

    Very satisfied again.

    Thank you for providing Shuttle Service to Hieizan-Sakamoto Station, where the Special Rapid train stops. I was able to relax in the private bath included as a Diamond benefit. The meals were thoughtfully prepared each time and delicious. The Nanzenji-style rice was also very tasty, but I would love to try the grated yam served with sashimi together with rice. The Room was clean and comfortable as well.

    It was a wonderful A...

    It was a wonderful Accommodation. The spacious open-air bath on the 11th floor with a view of Lake Biwa and the open-air bath on the 5th floor surrounded by trees and stone were both excellent. There are also large public baths and private baths, so it didn’t feel very crowded.\nThe in-Room open-air bath was also enjoyable, with thoughtfully designed latticework that still allowed a view of the lake.\nThe food was delicious, and we were able to relax and savor it in a private dining room.\nThis time we spent most of our time sightseeing, so our stay felt too short—we really wished we could have stayed longer, and we’d love to stay again.

    I enjoyed the bath.

    We enjoyed both the in-room bath and the private bath. However, the meals and service were not a good fit for us. In particular, perhaps because there were many international guests, we felt the dining experience prioritized presentation over flavor. Thank you for your hospitality.

    We visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary a month late. The food was delicious, and the service was courteous and pleasant. The bath was clean, and we enjoyed it many times. We would like to visit again.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    For our generation, Ogoto Onsen didn’t always have the best reputation—but we were completely wrong! The food, service, and Room were all excellent, and both the Facility and the Onsen were wonderful. Great value for money as well. Just a one-hour drive from Osaka, it was an Accommodation we were truly satisfied with. We’ll be back again.

    We enjoyed a delicious meal.

    We enjoyed the delicious meals. The flavorful broth was especially memorable. The bath was a bit disappointing, as the view from the bathing area was partially blocked by a seaside Ryokan building. The staff’s hospitality was also excellent. Thank you very much.

    Reliable and reassuring “Hanare Yoshiachi.”

    Including “Dog Villa Bettei Akai,” this was my sixth stay. This time, I chose “Hanare Yoshia” because a new Luxury Floor has been added after a renovation. Until now, the only drawback of “Hanare Yoshia” was the view from the Room, but the view from the “Hanare Yoshia Luxury Floor” is excellent. I was able to see a stunning sunrise from the in-room open-air bath. As always with “Hanare Yoshia,” the lounge is convenient to use, the staff’s hospitality is outstanding, and the meals are consistently reliable. Dinner in particular exceeds expectations every time—I’d even say it’s worth staying just for dinner. I will definitely stay again.

    Congratulations on your retirement—enjoy your trip!

    This was my fourth stay. The Onsen was great, and the meals were delicious. However, we had to wait quite a while at check-in. Also, the breakfast buffet I tried for the first time was a bit disappointing. There were no large trays, and the selection was not very extensive. The setup also felt somewhat inefficient. I think there is plenty of room for improvement, such as allowing guests to take coffee back to their Room. I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity, so please consider these points.

    Stayed in the “Kotone” Deluxe Suite (Room 711) with a private open-air bath—very satisfied.

    I stayed in the “Kotone” DX Suite. The Room was truly gorgeous, and I was able to enjoy a relaxing, luxurious time in the open-air bath in the Room. In addition, I could use the private open-air bath and hinoki cypress bath for 50 minutes, and I was able to truly unwind while surrounded by the soothing scent of wood. This time I couldn’t visit the large public bath due to time constraints, so I’d definitely like to try it next time. Dinner was served in a special dining room adjacent to the Room. A wide variety of dishes made with seasonal ingredients—including Omi beef—were beautifully presented, and every course was delicious. I was very satisfied. I also slept soundly on the Simmons bed. All staff were courteous and attentive, and I felt comfortable throughout my stay. It was a wonderful Accommodation that made me want to visit again.

    In the Room

    Thank you for your hospitality. The Room closet doors were poorly fitted and difficult to open, so we left them open during our stay. The guests on the floor above made loud noises until late at night, which was a bit unpleasant. However, the staff were very kind and the bath was great. Next time, I’d like to stay in a slightly higher-grade Room. Thank you very much.

    I was able to relax.

    We stayed for one night to celebrate my mother’s birthday, one month late. The Room was old, but it was well cleaned and we were able to stay comfortably. The meals were very delicious, and because it was her birthday, we received complimentary sparkling wine, which made my mother very happy. It became a truly memorable birthday celebration. We also enjoyed all three Onsen baths and were very satisfied. We would like to visit again.

    The bath is great.

    We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath this time and really enjoyed the baths. The large public bath also rotates between men and women daily, so in one night you can try a total of four different baths, which made soaking in the Onsen especially fun. The open-air bath was a bit chilly due to the season, but we had a beautiful view of Lake Biwa. At night we could see the moon from the Room’s open-air bath, and in the morning we watched the sunrise over Lake Biwa. For dinner, we were shown to a private room and enjoyed our meal at a relaxed pace. When we mentioned it was a birthday, they also treated us to sparkling wine. The rice cooked in an earthenware pot was delicious as well.

    On a wonderful journey from Konan Sanzan to Sakamoto

    This Accommodation was a soothing Onsen retreat for both body and mind after visiting the Konan Sanzan and traveling from Saijo-in in Sakamoto to Hiyoshi Toshogu Shrine and Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine. The private room and the open-air rock bath with the sound of water were both wonderful, and true to its reputation as a “beauty bath,” the water left my skin smooth and warmly refreshed—it's easy to see why it’s popular with women. The food, service, and amenities were all excellent.\nI would love to visit again.

    This was my second stay at this Hotel and my first time staying in this Room type. Compared with my previous stay, the Room I stayed in this time was amazing—truly, truly wonderful! The in-Room Onsen was excellent, the view was great, and the Room was very clean and spacious. Best of all, having a separate dining room set up right before meals was fantastic—I had never experienced that before. Overall, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The service was also excellent!

    A stay you’ll want to book again.

    This time, we chose a Room with access to the Yoshiawashi Lounge. The lounge was available from check-in through the morning, which was great. The Onsen water was silky and smooth, and the temperature was just right, so we could relax and soak at ease. Above all, the food is absolutely delicious. We thought there would be too many dishes to finish, but it was so good that we ate everything. The breakfast buffet also offered nodoguro tempura, grilled conger eel (shirayaki), Omi beef curry, and even sake. There were so many options, and it was a lot of fun. All Room amenities were provided—along with yukata and samue, there were even nightwear for use in the Room. The staff’s hospitality was wonderful as well, and this has become an Accommodation we’d love to return to.

    The Ryokan was excellent.

    This was our first trip traveling with our dog. We stayed at Dog Villa Annex Akai, and many of the staff seemed to love dogs. Their warm, friendly way of interacting with our dog left a great impression, and we were happy to hear them say “so cute” so many times. The Room was also very clean, with well-stocked amenities, so we were able to stay comfortably without any inconvenience. When staying at a Ryokan, skincare items like lotion matter to me, and I was impressed that Sekkisei products were provided. That said, there were a few times when the staff’s explanations were insufficient, and I found myself thinking, “I wish you had explained that from the start.” Other than that, it’s a wonderful Ryokan. I’d love to come again.

    Refresh with Onsen and dining

    With well-stocked amenities, a clean Room, and the Onsen, we were able to enjoy another comfortable stay. All of the meals were delicious as well. For dinner, we wanted to enjoy the appetizer with our drinks, but we were asked about beverages only after the appetizer was served, so it would have been better if you could ask for drink orders first. We would like to visit again to refresh.

    Highly Satisfied!

    I visited for my husband's birthday. The room had a private open-air Onsen that was always warm, and we enjoyed it multiple times. However, the washing area was indoors, so moving back and forth was a bit inconvenient as we had to dry off before transitioning. Additionally, the view of Lake Biwa was obstructed by nearby hotels and apartments, which fell short of our expectations. Drinks in the lounge and refrigerator were complimentary, but only foreign beer was available; it would have been nice to have Japanese beer, whiskey, or sake as well. The meals were absolutely delicious. The staff member attending us shared stories about Koshien baseball games, making our time enjoyable and memorable.

    The Junior Suite at Kotone was amazing!

    My mother, who is about to turn 90 and has difficulty walking, wanted to enjoy a trip while she could still walk a little. We chose this place based on the following conditions: - Room with an open-air bath - Meals served in the room - About an hour from home The result was absolutely wonderful! Although we couldn’t try all the baths due to their number, my mother enjoyed using the private bath in our room twice, which is rare for her. The meals served in a private dining area next to our room were both delicious and beautifully presented. My mother even said it was the best meal she’s ever had. One small suggestion would be to provide a teapot for making tea in the room and perhaps improve the design of tea cups as they were too hot to hold comfortably. We would love to visit again someday.     An accommodation you'll want to visit again

    This is my second stay, and I am very grateful for the kind accommodation regarding my food preferences and the gentle response even when my dog barked. The Onsen in the room is available 24 hours and feels wonderful. However, there was no information about the Diamond Member benefits, so I couldn't use them. That was disappointing, but I would love to stay again someday.

    Meals and Onsen

    I stayed at the Kotone Family Suite. The private open-air bath in the room is also an Onsen, leaving your skin smooth, and every meal was delicious. I feel truly sorry for leaving so much food as I was too full. I would love to visit again!
