The Executive Lounge operations are extremely poor.

I stayed specifically for the Executive Lounge, but couldn’t enjoy it at all. The staff at the front desk and the 1st-floor restaurant were good. The guest room had a different layout than usual, which felt refreshing. The Executive Floor was being sold at a very low price on IKYU, so I assumed there would be fewer Reservations—but I was completely wrong. At tea time from 15:00, if you miss the timing, some people can’t even find a seat. Food items such as cakes weren’t being replenished fast enough. I only managed to take one slice of frozen commercial cake, and none of the other desserts were refilled. A group of about 10 people—like three generations of a family—entered the lounge all at once and took up most of the tables just by themselves. The rooftop was unavailable due to event setup work. Staff did not provide any guidance or table assignment at all. They clearly are not considering how paying guests feel. Cocktail time with food (17:30–19:30) was also full. It’s supposed to be limited to one hour, but even when I went at 18:30 there were seven groups waiting. I was called around 18:50, but the plate provided was just a coffee saucer with a dent in the middle. No proper plates were replenished. Curry rice had to be eaten from a plastic container meant for miso soup. Accor, which operates Novotel, is supposed to have stopped using plastic like this—aren’t they? Pizza wasn’t replenished. It wasn’t fresh; it was cold leftover pizza. Even though guests are paying the set fee to use this service, during food service hours there isn’t adequate replenishment—and you end up with less than 40 minutes in total. That’s unfair. I have requested that the Hotel review lounge operations several times in the past, but they don’t seem willing to address it. It has been almost two years since opening with no improvement. I won’t be inviting anyone to this Hotel again in the future. Also, I took the jointly operated bus with JW Marriott bound for JR Nara. Even when children started singing on board, their parents didn’t stop them—and neither did the driver. This isn’t a kindergarten bus. With hotels that are this child-friendly, adults can’t enjoy a high-quality atmosphere calmly and comfortably。 I concluded that management is not seriously committed to improving either the Executive Lounge or other Facility and services。 Going forward,I might consider using it only if it’s cheap enough for No Meals Included.

Private rental of the lounge and rooftop balcony

I booked this Hotel looking forward to relaxing in the lounge and on the rooftop balcony, but I was told today that they are unavailable due to a private event. If I had known in advance, I could have chosen another Hotel, which is very disappointing. If possible, I would have appreciated being informed beforehand.

    Delight

I always leave truly satisfied. Friends, sisters, brothers- and sisters-in-law—people around me stay here often, and I’m proud to have stayed many times with them. I look forward to another Multiple Night Stay next time.

    I used the Executive Lounge.

Many Reviews said it was very spacious and relaxing, but the number of guests staying in Rooms with lounge access seemed to far exceed the lounge’s capacity. It was always full with a waitlist, and when we finally got a seat, a large family group was talking loudly and it was extremely noisy—hardly a place to relax and enjoy tea. Lounge access should be limited to Suite Rooms and Junior Suites; otherwise, guests who come looking forward to the lounge may not be able to use it at all, or even if they can, it won’t be a quiet, relaxing space. Allowing children—even preschoolers younger than elementary school age—into the lounge during alcohol service hours is unacceptable. It was very disappointing.

    Revisit

This was my second stay, and I used the Accommodation for a trip to Nara with a friend. At the front desk, I was offered an upgrade to an Executive Room, which also gave us access to the lounge. They also said, “You stayed with us in May as well—thank you,” which made me feel both happy and impressed by their attentive guest management. The lounge was spacious and comfortable, and we were satisfied with the drinks and food. It truly felt like “service beyond the price,” and my friend was delighted too, so I’m glad I invited them. Breakfast was also great—we enjoyed Nara specialties such as kakinoha-zushi and chagayu—and once again it was a very satisfying stay. My friend and I decided to visit Nara again next spring when the flowers are beautiful, and when we do, I would definitely like to stay here again.

    Girls’ Trip

Thank you for taking such great care of us. A fun trip with a close friend. This stay also doubled as a birthday celebration for my friend. I reserved a surprise cake, and after check-in, a staff member brought it to our Room with the candles already lit, saying, “Happy Birthday.” My friend was thrilled—and they had also prepared a message card and a gift, which made it twice as special. The cake was truly delicious. This was my second stay, and I used the lounge again this time. The beer is now self-serve, and the food selection had changed since last time, which was great. We could relax until 9:30 p.m., and all the staff provided pleasant service that left a very good impression. Having a large public bath is also wonderful. Breakfast was delicious as well—especially the kasujiru and Asuka-jiru soups. The smoothies were great too, and I appreciated the sparkling wine. A very satisfying hotel stay. Thank you again for everything. If I have another opportunity, I would definitely like to stay again.

    A bit disappointing.

This was my second stay since the Hotel opened. Good points: (1) The staff member who assisted me at check-in—pleasant and smooth service. (2) The Executive Lounge (the offerings were good for a lounge)—I was able to relax. Bad point: I arrived by private car, and I believe it was the parking staff (an older staff member; the worst). Even though it was pouring rain, I was told to move to a nearby Times parking lot. I understand having to move, but I couldn’t even unload my luggage, and because cars were coming up behind me, I was rushed to leave quickly. Also, the shuttle bus could stop right in front of the main entrance, which made it feel like guests shouldn’t come by private car. Since there were no umbrellas available, my luggage got soaked and I checked in drenched. When it’s raining heavily or the weather is bad, if there are spaces available in the on-site parking lot, they should allow guests to park there (the driver behind me said the same thing). Alternatively, they should clearly state on their website that there is no parking at the Hotel / that guests cannot park there. If that were clearly stated from the beginning, I would have gone straight to a nearby parking lot first and then headed to the Hotel without feeling upset. I understand there may be reasons on the Hotel’s side, but regarding parking specifically, kindness from staff is also important. The front desk and restaurant staff were great, but the parking attendant experience was disappointing—the worst.

    I stay at various Ho...

I stay at various Hotels with lounge access a few times a month. Novotel Nara is new and spotless, and I really like the Executive Lounge, so I stay here often. This is my third stay this year (January, April, and June). This time I chose a plan without breakfast. This time as well, I used my Diamond benefit coupon and had the Shin-Omiya Burger for lunch—it was delicious. The fries and salad were also great. The wet towel is very small, so I’d appreciate paper napkins too. Because it’s a new Hotel, everything is beautifully clean, which makes me happy. During check-in this time, I asked the male front desk staff member for several loan items, and everything was handled perfectly—thank you very much. The Room is compact, but it’s great that the toilet and bath are separate and there’s a washing area. It was disappointing that the shower water pressure was weak. If you go to the public bath when it’s not crowded, it’s comfortable. It’s also nice that face towels are provided there. The Executive Lounge had changed again in various ways! The food selection too… It was disappointing that the canelés were gone. There was curry soup? and steamed pork buns. Switching beer etc. to dispensers helps spread out crowds nicely. This time in the evening, it was a pleasant season to sit on the terrace. I used it briefly at the end, but there was a noisy group; without them, the atmosphere would have been wonderful and perfect. During afternoon service, please provide teaspoons as well. In the morning there were no coffee cups either. Since staff aren’t always present, I’d like you to stock extra items in advance. I will visit again.”

    Smelly lobby

This was my 12th stay in a Club Room. The Room was neat and clean, and the lounge was comfortable. However, in the lobby, the distinctive Southeast Asian smell that had been mild recently was overwhelming this time—I couldn’t stay there. I wish they would create an atmosphere better suited to Japan. I strongly hope for improvements from the Asian staff. For reference, the Thai-owned Hotel that opened a few years ago in Osaka Namba does not have this odor in its lobby. If it weren’t for the unpleasant smell in the lobby, I would consider returning, but I already have a Reservation at the end of this month and I’m unsure what to do.

A Hotel with a Great Atmosphere

Stayed in an Executive Room. The Room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet. The view from the lounge was great, but it worked on an order-to-request light snacks system, and perhaps because we went late, the selection was limited, which was disappointing. Breakfast had a wide variety and was delicious. The staff were pleasant and helpful as well—this is a Hotel I’d like to stay at again when visiting Nara.

    Reflection

I learned a lot from this stay. I stay at various Hotels every month, but for the first time I decided to book after seeing so many positive reviews on YouTube. The lounge access was especially well reviewed, so I visited with my family. As a result, it made me reassess the Hotels I’ve stayed at before and realize how high their standards were. From now on, I’ll only treat YouTube as a rough reference and won’t book based on it. First, the Hotel parking is 1,500 yen. The parking lot right in front is 800 yen. Nearby options start from 700 yen, and even the most expensive one is 1,000 yen underground. I don’t understand this pricing—especially since there isn’t even a roof. The lounge snacks were very disappointing: the pizza was cold and hard. The selection and quantity were limited—worse than a business Hotel. At 15:00 there was only one staff member handling everything alone; they wouldn’t even make eye contact. At night there were three staff members, but when we struggled with an unusually complicated wine cap, no one explained anything—they just looked away as if they didn’t notice. Breakfast was also poorly arranged: the cutlery was placed in one hard-to-find spot while the food was scattered around like separate islands. If you’re going to spread out the food stations, you should also place cutlery at multiple points—don’t keep it all in one place. Many older guests seemed confused and kept asking questions. Neither the front desk nor checkout felt hospitable. I will never go again. Terrible value for money. Also, having only five places to use hair dryers in the large public bath area is far too few—especially for women. I ended up going back to my Room soaking wet. Five spots for 242 Rooms?

This was my first stay, and I was very satisfied with the outstanding value for money. Above all, I was surprised that a Hotel in this price range offers access to a rooftop terrace bar, and it was wonderful to relax while taking in the views of Nara’s cityscape. The room was clean and well equipped, and the staff were polite and attentive, making for a very comfortable stay. The location is also convenient and ideal as a base for sightseeing, and I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Nara.

A charming Hotel by the river

The riverside setting, with views enjoyed over breakfast, has a distinctly Japanese charm, while the Hotel itself feels solidly Western. The breakfast spread includes kasu-jiru and kakinoha-zushi, as well as croissants and medicinal curry—wonderful. I was a little surprised by the extra-large mug for hot drinks. I feel like I’ve only seen cups that size at resort Hotels. The bed was on the softer side. The Room was spacious, with modern furniture and a cohesive design. The power outlets for electronics were Type-C (I think). I was delighted to find decaf capsules for the Nespresso in the Room. I arrived late at night and hesitated to have coffee otherwise. The complimentary water was also much appreciated. The bath (large public bath) and fitness room may feel a bit small given the number of Rooms, but even on a Friday night it didn’t feel crowded. The staff were relaxed, with natural smiles—very pleasant. I had a calm, lovely stay. Thank you very much.

    We had a relaxing stay.

Because this Hotel is highly rated for its lounge, we chose it for our wedding anniversary stay. The Room was compact yet well equipped with everything we needed, and since it is new, it was clean and very pleasant. Thank you for including a congratulatory message card for our anniversary. The lounge was comfortable, just as reputed. It was crowded during cocktail time, but at other times it was pleasantly quiet, so we could relax and enjoy our stay. The large public bath was also spacious, comfortable, and not crowded. There is a Shuttle Service bus from Nara Station, but since it’s a Marriott bus and the boarding location is a bit hard to find, we walked both ways. However, if you’re used to walking regularly, it’s an easy distance. For sightseeing convenience, a Hotel near Nara Station may be better; however, this is highly recommended for those who want a quiet and relaxing stay or who want to truly enjoy a Hotel stay. We used the IKYU Diamond benefit voucher in the lounge by ordering pizza there, so dinner was fully covered in the lounge. I did think that having ice cream among the lounge desserts would make it even more exciting—but that might be asking too much. Breakfast also had a wide variety of options and was very delicious. They even had wine in the morning, which made it feel wonderfully indulgent. This has become one of the Hotels I would definitely like to stay at again if I have the chance.

    The hospitality is excellent.

This was my first stay here with my mother, just the two of us. My mother has knee problems and experiences pain after walking long distances, so I wrote in the Reservation notes, “If possible, we would like a Room near the elevator.” I promptly received a reply from the staff confirming they could accommodate our request. I was already grateful for that, but they also offered to prepare an armchair in the Room and a non-slip mat in the bathroom. I was truly impressed. My mother was delighted as well that they kindly suggested these items based on our request and her situation. We arrived at the Hotel on the day of our stay full of anticipation. Just as I had seen in Reviews, both the facilities and our Room were very clean and well maintained, and we felt comforted by everyone’s hospitality. We were also happy there was a large public bath; after bathing early, we relaxed with drinks at the executive lounge. The lounge was quiet and calming (and having a workspace is another great feature). Using restaurant vouchers provided for Diamond members, we had pizza at the Italian restaurant (it was incredibly delicious!) brought out to the terrace, where we enjoyed a truly luxurious time while watching Nara’s evening scenery. It was a 100% satisfying Hotel stay. Thank you very much.

    We stayed just after...

We stayed just after Golden Week in May. The Hotel staff were professional, but while we were having a light meal in the social lounge in the evening, a large group of Western guests kept gathering near the lounge entrance. In the end, about 30 people were chatting loudly right behind our table. The Hotel staff didn’t intervene for quite some time. Even when we wanted to order, we couldn’t see the staff because of the crowd, and it was very noisy and frustrating. After a long while, the staff noticed that a tour guide had arrived and asked them to move to the side, but it was disappointing that they couldn’t handle it before the guide showed up. It was great that you can also have freshly baked pizza from the dining area in the social lounge—it was very delicious. For light drinks and snacks, the social lounge was more than enough. At breakfast there was a line when we went down, so we registered our number and were notified via LINE when it was our turn. It was nice to be able to wait comfortably in our Room. The breakfast selection is limited—perhaps due to current circumstances. Considering what we paid for this stay, I felt it didn’t have to be this Hotel. The location isn’t great either, and it’s not particularly outstanding otherwise. In hindsight, I wish we had paid a bit more and stayed at JW next door instead.

This is my third stay. Each time, I stayed in an Executive Room with dinner included. I like it because I think it offers excellent value for money. One request: Dinner is Italian, but I’d like some side dishes to go with white rice. It feels wasteful to have them only for curry.

    Great value for money

It’s a new Hotel and feels very clean. The front desk service was also courteous. I used the rooftop terrace. The food was nothing special, but the view from the roof was great and it felt nice. The location is in the city, but it’s a bit far to walk from the nearest station with luggage, which feels somewhat inconvenient. Still, considering the price, I think it offers good value for money.

Clean, comfortable, and easy to relax in.

The Room was modern and clean. The large public bath was also clean. It was nice that you can go to the bath in the provided loungewear, but for me the fabric felt stiff and it was not comfortable to sleep in. In the lounge, one staff member seemed very busy with tasks, so it was hard to speak up, and I wouldn’t say it felt friendly. I would like to see nuts and crackers available at night as well. Breakfast included tea porridge and persimmon leaf sushi. The shuttle bus from the station was convenient.

    Escape the everyday and recharge.

We got a great deal. It was nice to have a large public bath. The Room is also functional. The pajamas were too warm. At breakfast, the hand towels come out automatically but are small. The bread isn’t very good either. The morning wine bottle dispenser is hard to understand how to use (even foreign guests were asking).

The lounge, breakfast, and large public bath were all excellent.

This was my second stay, and my first time using the lounge. The evening lounge had a great selection of food, and I enjoyed it even without drinking alcohol. Breakfast was also delicious, with many Nara-style dishes. The large public bath had everything I needed, and I was able to relax and enjoy it. I used the Shuttle Service both ways, which made getting around smooth and easy. There is also a Tsutaya bookstore near the Hotel, so you can spend your time at a leisurely pace. I would like to stay again when I want to unwind. Thank you very much.

The entire Hotel was very clean, and the security was excellent. The Room was also comfortable, with loungewear provided. My partner had to leave partway through due to an urgent matter, but the staff responded politely and helped us pleasantly with parking and breakfast. Perhaps there was some kind of fair or event—dinner in the evening was delicious, but there were fewer options at breakfast. I understand it may be difficult to check everything, but a previous guest’s towel had been left in the bath basket. Still, it was a wonderful Hotel.

It was a wonderful Hotel! I was looking forward to the club lounge, but drinks were no longer available at 9:00, so I couldn’t use it. At the very least, I wish last order had been 10:00. There was no point in booking a room with club lounge access.

This is a Hotel I would like to visit again, even considering the access.

Beyond the basics you expect from a Hotel—clean, kind, and reassuring—everything was perfect, and the well-designed systems made the stay especially convenient. Breakfast was a delightful surprise, with not only local vegetables but also free-range eggs. The large public bath was compact yet beautiful, and since it was before dinner time, I could take my time comparing the different ReFa showerheads. Thank you as well for kindly explaining the bus information. (It’s a direct ride to the Nara National Museum with no transfers.) Nearby there’s a Tsutaya Bookstore and a Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten that’s larger than its Nara main store, so I was able to relax and enjoy my time. Heijō Palace Site is also close by, and I’d love to see the swallows gathering at their roost someday. Thank you very much.

    Always crowded

My wife stayed here. We chose it because it’s close to our destination, but it felt like there were even more foreign tourists than when we stayed two years ago. After 4:00 p.m., the elevator from the guest floors was packed, and the next morning at breakfast there were already more than ten people waiting five minutes before opening—so much so that even a regular guest seemed surprised. I wanted to finish with coffee and dessert, but gave up after seeing the line and went back to the Room. The large public bath showed only 1–3 users on the in-room monitor, but I didn’t have the energy to go and just used the bathtub in the Room (so small you can’t stretch your legs). At check-in, an Asian male staff member who was still in training assisted us, but his Japanese was barely understandable; I assumed he was explaining information about the Hotel. Even if many guests are international, if you’re going to assign front desk duties, wouldn’t it be better to provide more Japanese-language training? The Room itself was quiet and comfortable, but throughout my stay I kept wondering what country this Hotel is actually in. The 8-minute walk from Shin-Omiya Station—which isn’t particularly enjoyable—felt long, and I’m not sure we would choose it again next time.

I was able to relax without feeling self-conscious.

At first, I thought this might be a “pretentious” foreign-owned Business Hotel, but it wasn’t like that at all. The front desk staff and the restaurant staff were friendly and made me feel relaxed. The food was Italian-style, but items like pizza, spaghetti, and mussels were slightly cool—not cold—so I’d like to see some improvements there. The Room was larger than Rooms at other Business Hotels, and the bed had just the right firmness. It was comfortable, and I had no trouble lying down or getting up. The shuttle bus to the nearby station was well coordinated with the neighboring Hotel, and they explained everything clearly, which was very convenient. The bathroom was also spacious, so I could relax and recover from my fatigue. Outside, I even saw a deer on the median strip of a busy road—somewhere you wouldn’t expect to see one.
