    For trips with children

We stayed for one night with our 3-year-old child. There were many groups with children, so even when our child was fussy, it felt like we were all in the same boat, which made us feel more at ease. The play area and amenities for children were well-equipped, and since the meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner, it was nice to be able to put together a menu that our child would eat. There were also menus using ingredients from Boso, but if I were to be a bit indulgent, I would be happy if there were more variety. Our room was on the top floor, the 6th floor, with an ocean view, and it was a nice room with a great view of the calm sea. It was an inn that made me want to visit again while our child is still young. Thank you for taking care of us.

    We stayed with our t...

We stayed with our two young grandchildren and a dog, and the room was a Japanese-style room that allowed pets. The smell was a bit of a concern, but it was okay. It was great that there was a kids' space and a large room where the children could play. The buffet was delicious, but it would be nice if there were thinner fries, udon, or ramen for the kids! I would like to bring my grandchildren again.

    Satisfied.

I also stayed at another Mercure in a different region during a family trip last time. I was able to enjoy my stay without any worries! Thank you very much. I would love to visit again!

The shared facilities are clean, but the room is old.

The shared facilities such as the restaurant and hot springs were very clean. We used a Japanese-style room because we have children, but the following issues concerned us. 1. Dirt on the tatami mats I'm not sure what the stains are, but there is dirt accumulated over the years, and it feels unpleasant to walk barefoot. 2. Dirt in the water areas It's old, so it can't be helped, but since the water areas haven't been renovated, the dirt stands out. 3. Dust in the room Since we have children, we moved the TV and small refrigerator a bit, and they were covered in dust. 4. Dirt on the tri-fold mattress This was the most unpleasant. There were a lot of stains of unknown origin on the tri-fold mattress, and we had to lay sheets over it to sleep. There were also hairs left, which was unpleasant. We won't be visiting again. I think it's a good hotel for those who can overlook the room's dirt.

    The buffet is delicious.

I liked the all-inclusive and stayed at three Grand Mercure locations, and I am almost satisfied with the consistent quality. This time, they had turban shells, which added a nice touch of Boso Peninsula flavor. However, since there are also plenty of meals for children, it feels a bit lively. I think it would be more relaxing to dine if they could make some arrangements, such as separating the spaces.

Everything except the room was perfect!

As the title suggests. The hotel was renovated from an old one, and the interior and facilities were very nice. However, the moment I entered the Japanese-style room... I was so disappointed! The tatami, walls, and unit bath were quite old, musty, and the air conditioning was full of dust. The futon had a stained mattress that I had to cover myself. I understand stains are inevitable, but I don't think they should be shown to guests. I realized from other comments that the renovated rooms seem to be priced the same as the one I booked, so I think the prices should be differentiated. Also, I believe the hotel was quite empty that day. It might be selfish of me, but I would have liked to be offered another room even if it meant paying extra. The room was that out of place with the hotel's atmosphere. However, while I cannot recommend the Japanese-style room, the hotel is otherwise good value for money, so I hope for improvements and would like to stay in a different room next time.

    Overall, it's OK.

I stayed during a weekday this time. The ocean view was lovely, and the room was kept clean. However, it seemed that room cleaning continued into the evening, suggesting a possible shortage of cleaning staff. The food was delicious. As for amenities, for some reason, only a plastic cup for washing was provided in the room, and despite several requests to borrow a clear glass for drinking in the room, it was not possible. I had to make do with a paper cup, which was not ideal. The lounge in the lobby was crowded, and drinks were also served in paper cups. The service felt cheap, which detracted from the experience, and I think significant improvements are needed for it to become a resort hotel in the future. I'm sorry to say, but I felt disappointed compared to the price.

This is my second time. Great value for money.

The facility is clean, and both the bath and the room are spacious and comfortable. Including meals and the lounge, you can enjoy an all-inclusive experience, making it a great hotel for adults. Just two points... - The cold bath in the large public bath is very lukewarm. The sauna is quite hot, so it would be nice if the temperature of the cold bath could be lowered a bit. Please keep it below at least 20 degrees! - I wish there was a vending machine for alcohol. After 11 PM, the lounge closes, and I had trouble buying beer and such.

    Used for my wife's birthday.

Used for my wife's birthday. I was completely under the impression that it was a luxury hotel, given the stylish website, the allure of all-inclusive, and the not-so-cheap accommodation fee. The view was nice and the room was clean. Although there were clearly not enough staff, I think the front desk service wasn't bad. However, you have to carry your own luggage, lay out your own futon, can't use the large bath from 11 AM to 6 PM, and the shop doesn't open in the morning. The buffet was extremely crowded and not relaxing, and orders stopped at 8:30. All drinks are self-service, and there aren't even wine glasses. Children were running around screaming in front of the lounge. It didn't match my image at all, but it might be a good hotel for "families who want to relax in their room."

It is a good hotel for families.

There were no extra decorations at the Simple Stay, but we enjoyed all-inclusive buffet meals and drinks. Chilled glasses were provided, and the draft beer was very delicious. I recommend making your own beef shabu-shabu, pho, and tanmen. The staff was very kind. Since we stayed for two nights, we were able to request transportation to the nearest location for our outing the next day, but it would be helpful if printed information about the microbus schedule was provided at check-in. The room faced the sea and had a nice view, but the toilet was separate without a handwashing area, which was inconvenient as we had to go to the washroom each time to wash our hands. There was a thick kimono for room wear, but no yukata, so it would be good to bring pajamas as it can be troublesome when sleeping. Depending on the room type, there might not be a side table next to the bed, which made it difficult to have a space to place drinks by the pillow. During our stay, there was no sheet change, and towels (one bath towel and one face towel each) were hung on the doorknob, but it would be helpful to include a hand towel for the toilet or a mini towel. We visited after the holidays, and there were many families with small children, making it difficult to relax during meals due to crying. Since the semi-private space a bit further away was also used during the buffet, it might be better to offer such areas as dining seats for families with children.

    I was able to relax.

Two female friends stayed together. We were upgraded to a twin room with more space, allowing us to enjoy a comfortable stay. The window offered a view of the sea, giving a resort-like feel. The beds were comfortable, and we slept soundly. Both dinner and breakfast were buffets with a wide variety of delicious options. We enjoyed choosing from drinks like lemon sour, whiskey highball, wine, and beer. The large public bath had indoor baths, an open-air bath, and a sauna. There was also a drink service. We used it twice during our stay. The lounge's drink and food service was also good. Overall, the space was spacious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our hotel stay. The cost performance is good, so next time I would like to come with my family.

    The worst dog room

I was looking forward to staying here due to the rebranding, but the actual room was disappointing. The smell of urine from the unit bath was overwhelming, the room was too cramped for four people, and it wasn't clean, with stained futons that felt unpleasant. I just wanted to leave as soon as possible while in the room. Since there were no screens on the windows, we had to endure the strong odor. Some reviews mentioned other rooms being clean, so I assume the dog room hasn't been renovated at all. For meals, there were too many guests, and we had to wait about 30 minutes at the entrance. When items ran out, they weren't replenished, and popular items like hamburgers required quite a wait in line. Overall, the impression of the room's uncleanliness was strong, and it was sad considering the price wasn't cheap. I will never use this chain of accommodations again.

The lounge at check-in was disappointing.

We took advantage of an affordable plan and stayed for one night as a couple. Although we don't drink much, the all-inclusive option was appealing. Recently, more hotels with lounges available for guests have been increasing, but the lounge here was crowded from check-in until dinner started, so we couldn't enjoy the welcome drink. There were scenes of groups spreading out laptops and seemingly having company meetings, so I thought it might be good to have a 30-minute limit during peak check-in times. There was no specific time designated for both dinner and breakfast, but the venue was spacious, and there was no noticeable crowding. The meals were diverse, featuring local ingredients and a live kitchen. Although the indoor bath was not a hot spring, it was spacious and relaxing. If I were to be picky, it would be nice to have a thermometer in the sauna, a clock in the bathroom, and a trash can in the washing booth. My husband mentioned there was a clock, although in a hard-to-see place, so it would be better if it were in a more visible location. Overall, we were able to refresh ourselves by gazing at the vast ocean from our room.

    The service was excellent.

With the Ikkyu Diamond benefits, I was able to check in at 2 PM and check out at 12 PM. I was satisfied with the new room and was able to relax. There were some homemade alcoholic drinks, and they were delicious. The food was average. What stood out the most was the service. Since I traveled by train, I first called to reserve the bus, and from that moment, the staff was very pleasant. During my stay, it seemed like even the smallest details were shared among the staff, as they would greet me, and the bus driver was also kind. This hotel is recommended for elderly guests as well.
