    Just one disappointment.

    One point: There was no doorman present upon arrival by car. While it's understandable that they don't need to stay outside in the heat like before, it would have been helpful if someone could monitor from inside and assist when a car arrives. Specifically, providing a luggage cart (I can handle the rest myself) and guidance on parking (especially on weekends when multiple parking lots are available) would have been appreciated. I hope this feedback is helpful. Other than that, I was satisfied.

    The kids were absolutely delighted!

    There are plenty of large play areas, making it perfect for families with children. The food was also very delicious.

    It was excellent.

    We stayed at the accommodation with our dog. The staff were very polite and friendly, allowing us to have a wonderful time. Being all-inclusive, we could enjoy meals without any worries. We would love to stay again if we have the chance. Thank you very much!

    For families...

    Located on a hill, the view was great. The room and bath were also excellent. It was all-inclusive, but the variety of alcohol and the buffet dinner did not meet expectations, which was a bit disappointing. However, breakfast was delicious, and even the children seemed satisfied with happy faces. Next time, we are considering staying at an accommodation in the same chain in the Tohoku area.

    If the meals are not satisfactory...

    When Mercure first opened, there were many reviews mentioning significant crowding, so I made a reservation more than six months in advance. The accommodation has been beautifully renovated with spacious interiors, and thanks to the numerous fun play areas for children, it didn’t feel overwhelmingly crowded during our stay. However, the dining experience seemed quite different from what was showcased on YouTube and other platforms. The variety of dishes was noticeably reduced compared to before, and the live kitchen options were very limited. Main meat dishes like steak, roast beef, shabu-shabu, and beef burgers that used to be available were missing, which was disappointing. I’m not sure if they reduce the menu selection on weekdays, but I’ve never seen a hotel leave an empty section in the middle of their dining area during dinner service—it clearly felt like something used to be served there. There was no explanation about this setup either; you had to walk across the entire space just to figure out what food was available. While there were some positive aspects such as international-style menu items reminiscent of overseas hotels, it’s unfortunate that the overall dining experience fell short. Given how central food is to a hotel’s appeal here, I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I stayed with my wife to celebrate a special occasion. I was concerned about reviews during busy times, but staying on a weekday allowed us to relax. The guest room and bath area had all the basic amenities provided. Drinks and snacks in the lounge were replenished as needed. Overall, the staff seemed limited in number, so I wouldn't expect too much hospitality for service requests. However, booking through IKYU offered great value for money, so I rated it 5 stars for satisfaction.

    It was a stay with a...

    It was a stay with a pet, and we were very satisfied as the lounge was accessible (only on the corridor side) if the pet was in a rental pet cart. The buffet-style meals offered a wide variety and were delicious, and the staff were very courteous. We would love to visit again.

    Wife's Birthday Celebration

    The bath, cuisine, and customer service were all excellent. The all-inclusive package was also outstanding. This time, I stayed in a Japanese-style room, which had a slightly old-fashioned Showa-era feel that was a bit disappointing. However, aside from that, I felt the cost performance was very high. I would love to stay here again. P.S. The free table tennis was also enjoyable!

    Highly recommended for trips with children!

    Perfect accommodation for families with children. Located within a national park, it offers lush greenery and access to the sea, ensuring plenty of outdoor activities. Inside the hotel, there are numerous areas where kids can play even on rainy days. From a playroom to a large banquet hall designed for soccer, ring toss, badminton, table tennis, and more—there's something for everyone. The festive atmosphere adds to the fun experience. Children who are usually told not to run indoors can freely run around here. Adults can also relive their childhood and enjoy themselves. If you arrive before check-in time, there is a waiting room available with games and books for indoor entertainment. Soft drinks are provided so you can relax while waiting. This is truly a child-first hotel where both kids and parents can unwind in comfort. However, couples seeking a quiet retreat might find it too lively at times. The lounge we were looking forward to was sometimes bustling like a kindergarten depending on the timing. While the lounge itself has been designed with an elegant ambiance in mind, this was slightly disappointing personally—there were many children even on Friday evenings. It would be great if spaces or time slots could be separated between families with children and other guests so everyone could enjoy without worry or disturbance. The same applies to dining areas; even on Fridays there were lines forming before meal times for both dinner and breakfast. The meals were absolutely satisfying! From tender delicious meats to fresh fish—and even oysters—the variety was impressive! Alcohol options were abundant as well. Both adults and children will find something they love at breakfast or dinner. As suggestions for improvement: guest room amenities only included toothbrushes which felt lacking; providing items like women's skincare products (lotions or cleansers) would be appreciated by some guests despite bathhouse amenities being available onsite already—it’d help if these could also be distributed from lobby counters when needed. Additionally having lounges closed during evening hours (from late afternoon until 9 PM) seemed unfortunate since dining halls tend toward liveliness during those periods—it’d feel nice having adult-focused spaces open instead then! Despite everything mentioned above though overall satisfaction remains high especially regarding food views location etc., making our couple’s trip worthwhile indeed! Looking forward now towards October plans visiting Mercure Nagano soon!!

    Stayed in a dog-friendly room.

    I stayed for one night on June 9th. Unfortunately, it was raining, and while unloading my luggage and dog cart in front of the entrance, I accidentally dropped my dog. A staff member at the front desk immediately came over, unfolded the cart, and placed my dog inside. Thank you so much for your kindness! Despite arriving before 3 PM after cutting our sightseeing short, they kindly allowed us to check into our Room as it was already prepared. It was a great help. The staff were incredibly kind overall, and I was impressed by the delicious beer and snacks in the lounge! The bath and meals were excellent as well. I've stayed at Mercure Hotels across The whole country about four times now, but even my friend who joined me this time said enthusiastically, "I can see why you'd want to stay at different Mercure locations!" This Hotel is truly accommodating for pet owners. I had a wonderful time again—thank you very much!

    Used for a high school reunion.

    Surrounded by the abundant nature of Cape Daifusa, we enjoyed a delightful walk right after our arrival. The variety of alcoholic beverages during dinner was impressive, with the beer being particularly delicious. Although the lounge after the bath was a bit crowded and small, we made the most of it until closing time. From walking trails to Onsen, meals, and drinks, everything exceeded expectations and everyone had a wonderful time on this trip. With plenty of play areas for children, it’s an ideal destination for families to enjoy together. Thank you very much!

    Newly Upgraded All-Inclusive

    The hotel has undergone a full renovation and management change, and this was my first visit. The room was very spacious, and the long sofa was enjoyable—it's about 10 meters! The room was extremely clean and exactly as shown in the photos, which was fantastic. Although it is categorized as a "Standard" Junior Suite, it felt very premium (I even wondered why it wasn't classified as Superior). The private bath in the room is not an Onsen but was clean and easy to use. The water pressure was excellent. However, there were limited beverages provided in the room, and I found the hairdryer to be surprisingly noisy. Meals were served buffet-style with a menu focused on local specialties, which were delicious. The sushi made with sea bream and amberjack stood out as particularly tasty. Compared to other hotels' meals, there were fewer dishes available at this buffet, and unfortunately, there weren't enough live kitchen options (no steak or freshly prepared sushi). The lounge offered a great selection of alcohol and drinks; however, it got incredibly crowded. If you plan to use the lounge, make sure to line up early if you want a seat—it’s that popular!

    Clean and comfortable Room

    We stayed for one night with our beloved dog to celebrate my mother's discharge from the hospital. The clean Room and the meals, including alcohol, were delightful. We also enjoyed a beautiful view of the sea of clouds. It was a wonderful opportunity to show appreciation to my mother, and she was very pleased.

    It was a truly satisfying trip!

    Our first trip since our daughter was born. We chose this hotel because we wanted a baby-friendly accommodation. The result was very satisfying. The hotel staff and other guests were all smiling at and considerate towards our baby. As for the meals, they were decent but seemed to focus more on the cost of alcohol, so I deducted one point for that.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    The beer served in the lounge during check-in was very delicious! The children were also delighted with the snacks and soft drinks. It would be more convenient if the room wear had separate top and bottom pieces for easier movement. Our Room was located next to a pet-friendly Room. Since my child is not comfortable around animals, I would appreciate it if pet-friendly and non-pet Rooms were separated into different areas. We could constantly hear barking noises. In the bath, there was a girl with long hair who did not tie it up and let it soak in the water. She was also washing towels in the water, so I think it would be helpful if Hotel management provided some notices regarding this behavior. Overall, the Hotel was very clean, with a wide variety of dishes available at meals, and both the bath and Room were spotless—everything was excellent. The staff members were polite and attentive as well; they did an amazing job. Thank you very much!

    A long-awaited trip to Minamiboso.

    I was able to reserve this hotel as I was looking for accommodation nearby due to my senior pet. Since I had reserved it quite a while ago, I almost forgot about the trip. Although there was one day with unfavorable weather, we were able to travel smoothly without getting caught in the rain. As pets are allowed at this accommodation, we enjoyed activities like the dog run and walking trails without any shortage of things to do. It seemed our pet also liked it here. If we had more time, I would have loved to explore the entire walking trail. The nearby observation deck offered fresh air and a natural atmosphere.

    A Hotel Enjoyable for Both Adults and Children

    We stayed during the Golden Week holiday. The guest rooms, Facility, meals (dinner and breakfast), and service all exceeded our expectations. In particular, the quality of the Facility for children to play within the Hotel was exceptionally high, making it enjoyable for both adults and children. The buffet for dinner and breakfast was abundant and very enjoyable. However, regarding the carts used to carry multiple trays during the buffet, they did not match the size of the trays well and were limited in number, which made them slightly inconvenient to use. Nevertheless, this was within an acceptable range. As an all-inclusive Facility, this is undoubtedly a highly recommended Hotel. We were extremely satisfied with our stay. We would like to explore other Hotels in this chain at different locations in the future.

    It was my second stay!!

    We stayed here two years ago, and since our children loved it, we decided to visit again this year for Children's Day! Having experienced both before and after the renovation, we were very impressed with how beautiful everything looked! There were indoor play areas and game spaces for the kids, as well as a great selection of kids' loungewear and slippers. Additionally, the Hotel staff were incredibly kind and attentive to all our needs. We would love to stay here again!

    Knocked out by the smell of the Room!

    Stayed for one night during Golden Week with our dog. We had previously stayed here when it was Daiwa Royal Hotel without our dog. The Room was clean, and the view was great back then, but I remembered the food being terrible. However, since it has changed to Mercure, we decided to give it another try with our dog this time! Being on a lower floor is expected when traveling with a pet, so we were prepared for that... but as soon as we opened the door to the Room, we were hit by an overwhelming smell of dogs. The Room felt outdated and not well-cleaned; there were even leftover dog treats on the floor. When setting up our futons ourselves, we noticed stains on them that looked like they could be from pet urine in several places. There were also bloodstains on some of the comforters... which left us quite disappointed. As for meals, although it was very lively and crowded due to many families with children during Golden Week, there was a wide variety of dishes—Japanese, Western, Chinese—and they tasted good. The bath facilities were nice too. Above all else though, walking around the area surrounding the Hotel is fantastic! For families with small children especially, this would be an excellent Hotel choice. For us—a senior couple traveling with our 20-something daughter and one dog—if asked whether we'd visit again... probably not.

    Discomfort After Check-In

    After check-in, I checked the Room for a Mini Bar and found a half-empty bottle left by the previous guest. I understand that prices are higher during the Golden Week period, but the quality of amenities was poor and very disappointing. The cleanliness of the futon in the Japanese-style room was shocking as well. The quality of the dog run was also very poor, which added to my disappointment. I will likely choose a different Hotel next time.

    2-night stay during Golden Week 2025

    The price was not very reasonable due to the Golden Week period, but I had a comfortable stay. The large public bath was excellent. I would love to stay again if given the chance. Highlights: - The bath was clean, spacious, and comfortable! - The vinegar drink in the relaxation area after bathing was delicious! - The beer in the lounge was great! - The milk at breakfast tasted amazing! - The seafood rice bowl at breakfast was fantastic! - The evening soup with dinner was delightful! - Chiba-grown Koshihikari rice tasted wonderful! - The sunset view from the observatory deck was beautiful! Points for improvement: - Large public bath opening time started at 6:00 AM; it would be better if it opened at 5:00 AM. - A live omelet station for breakfast would have been nice. - It would be great if seafood rice bowls were also offered for dinner (preferred over having them only at breakfast). - Saturday night’s dinner buffet felt crowded. - Lounge seating wasn’t sufficient as it got quite busy.

    Perfect for families with children

    We visited with our 2-year-old child. There was a clean and well-designed play area where we could relax while letting our child play. For older children, there is also a play area on the second floor, which ensures that younger and older kids can enjoy separately without concerns about overcrowding or collisions. The staff were incredibly kind and provided warm hospitality. The meals were delicious, and the nearby beach and park offered stunning views. We would love to visit again. Thank you!

    Stayed with my family and our dog.

    I had a great experience at Grand Mercure Munakata, so I booked this place where I could stay with my dog. The room accessible from the parking lot with my dog, the open-air bath—everything was perfect. We could take a walk to the beach right from the back, which made both my dog and daughter very happy. I would love to stay here again!

    The experience did not meet my high expectations, unfortunately...

    I visited with high expectations after reading the reviews. I assumed everything had been renovated, but the Japanese-style room I stayed in seemed almost unchanged from before, which was quite disappointing. Even though it was during Golden Week, I felt it lacked value for the price. We had to set up and put away our own futons, and there were hairs left on the mattress, which was also disappointing.

    Satisfied with the waiting area before check-in time. The play area for toddlers is also quite good. The lounge is included in the plan for all rooms, not just for club members, so it's naturally crowded. As expected, there were no complaints, and it was great that children could use it too. This accommodation is quite suitable for families with children. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of dishes and is enjoyable. However, there were no sheets for the futon—only a duvet cover. When I requested a sheet from the front desk, they brought another duvet cover instead, which left me speechless. Is it difficult for staff to distinguish between duvet covers and futon sheets? Perhaps adding some color coding or other measures would help improve this issue. Thank you for your hospitality. This room had children's yukata available but not adult ones—why? Most people outside were wearing yukata; why weren’t they provided here? Strange indeed!

    I was satisfied.

    Arrived 30 minutes before check-in, but there was a line of about 15 groups, taking around 20 minutes to proceed. The lounge space was small and unavailable for use. It was quite noisy due to the presence of many children. There was a step when leaving the bath changing area, and I tripped and got injured. It would be helpful to have clear signage or install a partial slope. Would appreciate more Japanese dishes in the buffet menu. Despite these points, overall satisfaction was high, and I would love to stay again!
