    I had a wonderful vacation.

    We stayed for one night with breakfast and dinner included. The open-air bath was a great touch, and the baths were excellent—we were able to relax. The shampoo and conditioner also seemed high quality. Meals were buffet-style, so we could choose what we liked, and we even enjoyed the desserts. Since there were three of us, one person slept on a mattress placed on the floor. They also provided pet amenities, along with treats and toys, and their thoughtfulness truly impressed us. Overall, it’s a wonderful Hotel, and we would love to stay again. My husband would like to visit with his colleagues as well. Thank you very much.

    I stayed here with my dog.

    It felt affordable, and we were able to stay with our dog. I would be happy if there were a larger dog run where dogs could play more. This time, we took a walk to the beach. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and the sushi was delicious. The all-you-can-drink alcohol option was also very satisfying. I would have liked a chair in the Room.

    We stayed here for a...

    We stayed here for an anniversary trip with my boyfriend. We chose this Facility because we were drawn to the buffet-style meals, the Onsen where we could truly relax, and the all-inclusive plan. First of all, the interior was absolutely lovely. From right after check-in, we could use the lounge, and since he loves alcohol, he was thrilled to enjoy plenty of drinks—seeing him so happy made me happiest of all. For the meal we had been looking forward to, we were able to borrow a cart and pick up lots of dishes, which was great. Even though we’re both picky eaters, there was a wide selection across Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine, so we were satisfied. Some Japanese dishes tasted a bit lightly seasoned, and a few items weren’t kept warm and had cooled down, which was slightly disappointing—but being able to choose everything ourselves made it a fun experience overall. Through the official website you can make a Reservation for bouquets, dessert plates, or cakes. We requested a dessert plate; the staff were kind and celebrated with us discreetly. They also happily took photos for us—it became a wonderful memory. Unfortunately it was rainy and very windy so we couldn’t fully enjoy the open-air bath (rotenburo), but it felt much more spacious than in the photos. The sauna was on the smaller side but at a comfortable temperature. The lounge was such a relaxing space that my boyfriend—who had been waiting there—ended up falling fast asleep. Since there is also a sauna, I thought guests might appreciate having drinks like Oropo available as well! We also enjoyed breakfast. There’s a park nearby that you can walk to easily as well—it became another favorite memory for us.

    The Room offered a superb view of the Minamiboso coastline. You can access the beach via a small path from beside the Hotel pool, making it perfect for a stroll. It was a great Hotel for a change of pace.

    My children love the...

    My children love the play area, and this is our third stay. The Accommodation was clean and well maintained, which was great, but there was almost no change in the dinner menu across all three stays. As adults, meals were the one thing we especially looked forward to, so this was disappointing. The food at your Yatsugatake location in the same group was better. We would like to stay again, so we hope you will make improvements.

    Arriving early allow...

    Arriving early allowed for a smooth check-in, and it was great to wait in the waiting Room with soft drinks until 3:00 PM when we received the key. The lounge also offers alcohol and snacks, which made it easy to enjoy a casual drink. The Room was on an upper floor facing the ocean with an excellent view, and using the elevator was stress-free. The bath area can get crowded at peak times (for example, sinks may not be available right away), so adjusting your timing might be best. The post-bath vinegar drink and amazake were delicious, and with healing music playing, it was relaxing to unwind on the sofa. We were satisfied with the meals as well. Personally, I was happy they had pho for breakfast (I love cilantro).

    Very good for children.

    I stayed here after seeing on Instagram that it’s recommended for families with children, and I was also attracted by the all-inclusive plan. First, the all-you-can-drink service in the lounge until 6:00 PM offered only wine, beer, and sparkling wine, and there were not many kinds of snacks. I wished there were a few more options geared toward adults. Since our Room was a Japanese-style room, it felt quite old, and when I opened the door I could even see dust floating in the air. Also, inside the haori worn over the yukata, there was a cigarette that seemed to have been left behind by a previous guest. It was very disappointing and made me worry whether cleaning had been done properly. The bathing area was clean, but there was only one indoor bath and one open-air bath. The open-air bath didn’t have any view either, so I didn’t feel like going in repeatedly. However, there were lots of places for kids to play, and my child seemed to have fun playing a lot both at night and in the morning! They also lend out Milton sterilizing supplies for babies, which gave me a family-friendly impression. The food included some international dishes you don’t usually see at a typical buffet, which was interesting. The cups for alcohol were nicely chilled and that was great! There were plenty of dessert options like Mont Blanc cakes and cream puffs—very nice! The donuts were smaller than I expected! All of the staff were pleasant. In particular, the female staff member with glasses at the front desk was very attentive and wonderful. Thank you very much.

    My thoughts after staying here.

    What I liked - The spacious area in front of the bathroom - The free drink Facility in front of the bathroom - An incredible variety of buffet dishes, all delicious - A welcome drink, plus an all-you-can-eat-and-drink system for drinks and snacks available until 11:00 PM What I didn’t like - When the door to the open-air bath is opened, everyone washing their hair or body feels cold due to the bathroom layout (I hope this will be considered when designing new Hotels) - There was no sashimi at the buffet (there was nigiri sushi, though) It was a truly wonderful and happy 2-day, 1-night stay.

    Family-friendly

    Although I had high expectations, there were some disappointing points. The lounge has a decent atmosphere, but perhaps because there were many families with children, it didn’t feel relaxing. The drinks and snacks were also underwhelming. The Room was missing basic amenities, which felt unusually unhelpful these days. There were no body towel, shower cap, or hair ties provided. Only a yukata was available, which also feels outdated; for moving around the property, samue would be more practical since you don’t have to worry about your feet as much. It was also disappointing that there were no disposable makeup remover wipes, toner, or lotion at the front desk—items you can often find even at a Business Hotel. The large public bath was good. The space to relax after bathing was nice. There is a wide variety of food options, but the taste was just average. If I had to pick highlights, the steamed rice and soft-serve ice cream were delicious. I took my dog for a walk, but behind the building it smelled like sewage. The location is good for walking around, but honestly I don’t think I would stay again.

    This was our first t...

    This was our first trip as three generations! Since it was during spring break and after reading other Reviews, we arrived at the Hotel around 2:00 PM. The kids’ play area was still empty, so the children were able to play to their hearts’ content inside the Hotel. We also enjoyed soft drinks at the welcome drink corner. Key pickup at 3:00 PM went smoothly. From 3:00 PM, we brought soft drinks, alcohol, and snacks back to our Room and enjoyed them together. Because we had a large group, we were prepared a spacious Japanese-style Room. We could see the ocean, and the kids had fun playing hide-and-seek in the Room! It felt like two Rooms connected together, so there were two toilets and two sinks, which was very helpful. However, one toilet/sink area was combined, one toilet did not have a washlet bidet seat, and the seat felt cold. Meals were crowded but we could enjoy as much as we liked, and everything was delicious! In the morning some items like yogurt stayed low in stock for a while, so I spoke to staff a few times. They quickly replenished everything, which I really appreciated. The baths were spacious and the open-air bath felt great!! It was a very satisfying three-generation trip. Thank you very much!

    Probably best suited for families with young children.

    We stayed as a family of three with one dog. Although more places are becoming pet-friendly, this Hotel is especially appreciated for guests traveling with dogs. The buffet offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, and we ended up eating far too much. Both the large public bath and the open-air bath were spacious and enjoyable. There were many families with small children, which felt heartwarming, but it may not be ideal for those looking for a quiet, relaxing stay.

    I would like to stay here again.

    We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days over a long weekend. My child and I really enjoyed the table tennis, board games, lounge, large public bath, and buffet. On the first day, we booked the dinner buffet as an optional add-on, and it was delicious—we were very satisfied. I only wished there had been better coffee, but we could see the staff working hard to make good use of the older facilities and finding creative ways to improve things overall. We were very happy with our stay and would like to come again. Thank you very much.

    A Hotel for Families with Children

    Before staying at this Hotel, I had read that many guests come with children, but it truly welcomed everyone—from families with babies to people of all ages. For us as a couple whose child-rearing days are behind us, the dining area was very lively and didn’t feel particularly relaxing. Still, I felt envious of today’s young parents to have a Hotel where anyone can stay so casually and comfortably. Please continue to be a Hotel where even guests with babies can stay with peace of mind.

    I had high expectations, but...

    I went with very high expectations after seeing it on YouTube and the like, and that was a mistake. I requested a Japanese-style room so my child could walk around without worry, but it was dusty and the futon was dirty, which shocked me. The comforter looked so dirty that I couldn’t use it. I thought this Hotel was mainly for entertaining children, but the staff were not kind to children, and even the person who came to fix the hand-cranked play equipment repaired it in a way that felt half-hearted. The lounge was also packed, making it hard to find a seat. Since the lobby is spacious, I thought they could add more seating there as well. We went with high expectations, and that really ruined it for us.

    We had a wonderful time.

    We stayed here as a family on this trip. The view from the Room was wonderful. There was also a great variety of dinner options, which we really enjoyed. Next time, I’d like to bring my parents.

    I went there thinking my child would be happy.

    We visited on a family trip. The play area on the 1st floor was very fun, and it was great to see the kids enjoying it. The play area on the 2nd floor felt like it could use more effort—it seemed more like items had just been placed in a banquet hall. It was nice that baby food was available, and the bath could be used for babies as well. For breakfast, guidance and seating took a very long time, and we couldn’t get in easily. Since the serving time didn’t change, some families ended up barely being able to eat at all. It felt like if you have children, parents don’t really have time to eat. If you’re going to let guests choose an entry time, I’d like it to run more smoothly. We waited over 30 minutes, and during that time we could have gotten ready in the Room or even gone to the bath. The buffet wasn’t particularly tasty. The Room wasn’t very clean, and after flushing once, the toilet couldn’t be flushed again for a while. Since we stayed on a public holiday as well, my honest impression was: for this price… is this what you get? The only real positive point was having a place where the kids could happily play.

    The sewage drain was...

    The sewage drain was clogged and couldn’t be fixed during the night. I couldn’t even wash my hands or brush my teeth. I ended up sleep-deprived, and I was surprised there wasn’t even an apology. The dining area and lounge were far too crowded, so I couldn’t get any of the items I wanted at all, which was very disappointing. Refills took a long time to come out as well. When I asked for alcohol, I was told it was already gone, so please don’t call it “all-inclusive.”

    Recommended for families with children

    The other day, I stayed at Grand Mercure Minamiboso with my 4-year-old child. What stood out most was how thoughtfully this Accommodation caters to families with children. Not only were children’s jinbei-style loungewear and slippers provided, but even a portable toilet seat was available, which made the stay feel reassuring even with a small child. It didn’t feel like a token effort; it truly seemed prepared from a family’s perspective. As for the lounge, my impression differed slightly from what I expected. During our stay, it was lively with groups—likely local guests and families traveling together—and had more of a party-like atmosphere. It wasn’t quite the calm space one might imagine from the word “lounge,” so those expecting a quiet place may be surprised. If you view it as an energetic shared space, it should be fine. The meals were highly satisfying both morning and evening. There wasn’t any live-kitchen style performance (which I understand may not be practical given the scale of operations), but the quality of the food itself felt excellent. The fried horse mackerel and tartar sauce in particular were memorably delicious. Alcohol was also all-you-can-drink, and overall I felt the value for money was very high. The Onsen was also well cleaned and comfortable to use. The vinegar drink in the relaxation area was tasty as well, making it easy to unwind after bathing. The guest room was generally clean and comfortable, but it was disappointing to find what looked like a nasal strip left stuck on the wall by a previous guest. It’s minor, but it does affect how you feel. Perhaps because there are many international staff members, there were times when miscommunication meant we didn’t receive a service we had requested. However, I did sense sincere efforts to respond each time. Overall, satisfaction relative to price was high, and I felt this is an Accommodation I can confidently consider when visiting Minamiboso with children.

    I want to eat natto.

    It was disappointing that natto wasn’t available at breakfast. Also, when I asked a staff member whether natto was available, I felt uncomfortable with the overly casual way they responded. In addition, it felt unusual that long lines formed at the buffet in the restaurant both at dinner and breakfast. Since it’s a buffet, guests should line up only for the items they want, but because people were lining up from one end in order, it created very long queues. I think staff should guide guests with clear instructions to keep things moving smoothly.

    It was a Japanese-style Room, but

    I don’t mind laying out the futon myself, but there was hair on the mattress. It was the same with both of the two we used. It ruined the resort mood. The washroom cleaning was also sloppy.

    This time, it was very disappointing.

    I have stayed here several times, but the Room was very dirty, and there was a half-eaten candy under the bed. This time, the Room also did not allow me to watch YouTube on the TV. Until now, the Rooms had been very clean and perfectly renovated. However, there were many Chinese tourists that day, so I suppose it couldn’t be helped. I look forward to my next stay. The staff are very pleasant.

    Deeply disappointing.

    We visited to celebrate my father’s 88th birthday, but the dining was disappointing. The scallops and oysters were dry, it was far too crowded, and even on a weekday we couldn’t get what we wanted because items were not replenished promptly. I would like you to reconsider how many guests you accept in this situation. In addition, the Room drain was clogged, so we couldn’t even brush our teeth. We were kept waiting for it to be fixed, which left us sleep-deprived, and there was no apology at all. Our long-awaited trip for his 88th birthday ended in deep disappointment.

    This is my favorite Hotel.

    This was my second stay, and I truly love both the Onsen and the meals. For a pet-friendly Hotel, I don’t think there is another Hotel with service this good. Check-in and mealtimes can get crowded, but it’s still a Hotel that makes me want to come back. Next time, I’d like to visit in a different season. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Unmatched comfort beyond your expectations!

    We stayed on a weekday as a family of four. We were a bit concerned about the Room’s retro feel and that the restaurant can get somewhat crowded. However, everything else was excellent. The entire property, including the Room, was very well cleaned, so we felt comfortable and at ease. You can tell they keep everything spotless throughout. The Japanese-style play area was well equipped, and not only the kids but also we parents enjoyed it. The food offered a wide variety—not just seafood but also meat and desserts—and everything tasted great. There was so much we couldn’t finish it all. There’s more I could mention, but overall we had a great time.

    Room amenities

    There was dust and fingerprints. The emergency light did not turn on. A hanger was broken. There were too many children, and even during the evening lounge time there were a lot of them, so I couldn’t relax. It would be better to group families with children on the same floor, coordinate meal times, or even prohibit children during the evening lounge time—I couldn’t unwind at all.

    Highly recommended.

    It felt more luxurious than expected, yet it was a Hotel where many families stay, so we could relax and enjoy ourselves without worry. I think it is also a Hotel where guests with babies can stay with peace of mind. We stayed as four generations, and everyone was satisfied.

    It was a spacious and gorgeous two-bedroom Room.

    We stayed on the top floor and enjoyed a great view, with a beautiful sunset. The spacious living room had a luxurious leather sofa, and each of the two bedrooms had its own sink area, bathroom, and toilet, so even four adults could relax comfortably. We also fully enjoyed the meals, lounge, and large public bath just as we did on our previous visit. The outdoor bath felt a little cool to me. The lounge was always busy with many guests, which really showed how popular it is. I was also happy that we could take drinks back to our Room. The only disappointing point was an unpleasant odor that seemed to come from the drain in the back bedroom. At first it wasn’t very noticeable, but it gradually became stronger, and if we didn’t keep the door closed, the smell seemed to reach into the bedroom as well. I mentioned this to the front desk at check-out. The sink drainage also didn’t seem very good, so that may have been the cause—I hope it can be improved in the future. Other than that, everything was satisfying and we had a wonderful trip. Thank you again for your hospitality this time as well. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

    We really enjoyed our trip with our son and his wife. <Drawbacks> - We had a dinner Reservation for the 17:00–18:30 time slot. We started lining up at 16:58, but dinner didn’t begin until 17:30, and we were asked to leave after 18:30. I wasn’t satisfied with this. - The futons are self-service. Some of the sheets were also too short. <Good points> - The dinner menu was great, and the Onsen was excellent.

    It was a good Hotel.

    There is also a kids’ play area, which makes it a good choice for families. I didn’t use the large public bath in the Hotel, but while the bath in the Room was clean and nice, there were no amenities (such as a body-wash towel or cotton swabs). The dining options were varied and alcohol was available, so it was comfortable overall, but the lounge was crowded and the paper cups for drinks were small, so I had to go back and forth to my Room many times, which was inconvenient. Still, we stayed in a great Room and the staff service was excellent, making it a wonderful family trip! I would like to say thank you to all the Hotel staff.
