    My grandchild was thrilled with the kids’ play area.

    We chose this Hotel to celebrate our grandchild’s birthday. The kids’ play areas on both the first and second floors were wonderful—there were building blocks, balls, and plenty of space to run around, and they were so excited they didn’t want to go back to the Room. It was perfect even on hot summer days or rainy days; there’s probably nowhere else where children can play this much indoors. Searching for seashells on the sandy beach outside the Hotel was also a first-time experience for our grandchild. The meals were delicious, and we also enjoyed the vinegar drinks and amazake after bathing. We were looking forward to them again after a morning bath, but they weren’t available, which was disappointing. Our Room was a Japanese-style room on the third floor, but the view from the window faced the parking lot, which was also a shame. Still, since both of our grandchildren were happy, we were very satisfied with this trip. Thank you very much to all of the staff.

    Stayed the night bef...

    Stayed the night before a golf trip with breakfast only. They upgraded our Room. It was a clean, beautiful Room on the ocean side. Everything in the Hotel was spotless; the large public bath, sauna, and open-air bath were all great. Breakfast had a wide selection. I mainly chose Japanese dishes, but it was fairly standard—Western options might be better. The evening lounge was underwhelming. There was no beer and not much to drink. It’s mostly sweet cocktails, so it may suit younger guests. Given the low Accommodation cost, it’s more than sufficient. Overall, I’m satisfied. I’m glad I chose this Hotel.

    Hmm.

    There were many families with children, and we couldn’t eat at a relaxed pace at the buffet. The welcome drinks and snacks had limited variety, and I was surprised by how short the available hours were. There were also stains on the futon in the Room, which was unpleasant. The play area had fewer options than expected, and I was also surprised at how small the dog run was. The wait time for check-in was long as well—overall, it felt like a Hotel where we ended up disappointed for the first time.

    They were thrilled and said it was excellent.

    A friend who isn’t very tech-savvy asked me to make a Reservation for a one-night weekday stay for three men traveling together. One of them checked in in the evening after work, and I later received a message saying they were very satisfied and happy with their stay. The only disappointment was that they didn’t make it in time for the all-inclusive beer hours. I’ve stayed several times at your sister Hotel in Yatsugatake and had a great experience, so I chose Minamiboso as well. I’m glad they enjoyed it so much. I’d like to stay here myself next time.

    It was a very family-friendly Hotel for guests traveling with children.

    We stayed here for a three-generation family trip. In advance, we emailed to request items such as a baby crib, and they were prepared in our Room. We really appreciated having baby wipes. ・Room It was a Japanese-Western style Room with a spacious tatami area, which was perfect for our crawling child. The entryway was also wide enough to leave the stroller there. Even though the Room was large, there was only one box of tissues—I would have liked one at the sink and another by the bed. ・Large public bath There was also a baby crib and diaper-changing station in the large public bath, so even our 0-year-old could enjoy their first public bath experience. There were no tissues at the sinks either… why are there so few tissues? (lol) ・Meals Breakfast and dinner were buffet-style, and there was a long line at opening time, so going a little later seemed smoother. There were no paper towels on the table, which was disappointing because we had nothing to quickly wipe up spills from our child. Wet towels were available in the main dining area, but not in separate rooms away from it. We arrived around 3:30 PM but waited about 30 minutes to check in. It helped that there is a wedding lounge/space, but we would appreciate a smoother process. As a result, we could only choose breakfast times of 6:45 or 9:00; when we chose 6:45, they said it would be fine even if we arrived late. I assume these time slots are meant to reduce crowding, but they felt surprisingly flexible (lol). There is a large play area, and although our child is still in the crawling stage, they looked like they were having lots of fun playing there. It seems like it will be even more enjoyable as they get older!

    The Junior Suite is spacious and comfortable.

    However, the placement of the sofa and TV is clearly awkward—when you relax on the sofa, the TV ends up behind you. The TV also seems outdated and doesn’t support Netflix or YouTube. AirPlay and screen mirroring weren’t available either, so the Facility felt a bit lacking. Other than that, we were very satisfied with this Accommodation. The all-inclusive plan and buffet felt below expectations because there were simply too many guests. At the same price point, a smaller Accommodation might be more satisfying. It does seem very suitable for families with children.

    Under the clear blue skies of May

    Set in a lush natural area, the property is ideally located for enjoying the outdoors. A walk around the small peninsula takes about 1.5 hours, making it a satisfying route for those who like a good stroll. All of the meals were delicious, and the sushi toppings were fresh—I ended up eating far more than I planned. I would have liked an even wider selection of fish dishes. The desserts also felt upscale and were excellent. The interior lighting is kept dim to create a calm atmosphere, but it may be difficult for guests with visual impairments.

    Enjoy dining with an international vibe.

    The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a variety of international dishes, and the alcohol, coffee, desserts, and salads were also delicious. The amenities were simple and cost-effective, which I liked. The Room and bath were standard. The service was efficient and pleasant.

    Unit bathroom

    We booked three Rooms expecting an ocean view, but all three were Japanese-style Rooms on the third floor with a unit bath and a view of the second-floor roof. We made the Reservation without checking carefully. In the toilet, when standing up, I hit my head several times on the unit-bath towel rack. We had hoped for more seafood, but the bread was dry and hard to eat. It felt expensive for the price.\nThere were plenty of play areas for children, which was good.

    I stayed here.

    The air conditioning in the 2nd-floor playroom was too cold, and all the batteries in the electric toys in the 1st-floor welcome room were dead. The shirasu at breakfast smelled a little fishy, but otherwise we were very satisfied and our group of 10 (parents and children) thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Tateyama. P.S. We would appreciate it if the morning bath could start a little earlier—at least 30 minutes, ideally 1 hour earlier.

    Regarding the entrance to the large public bath

    In other guests’ Reviews, I saw comments saying that some people entered the large public bath area wearing shoes. I did the same. There was a shoe rack on the left side of the door at the entrance to the large public bath, but it may be a little hard to notice. If there were a sign or some information posted near the entrance, fewer guests would mistakenly walk in with shoes on. I noticed and went back out.

    The buffet is amazing—and there’s also an all-you-can-drink option.

    The trendy dishes you can’t find elsewhere and the local ingredients really lifted my spirits. From the welcome drink to the buffet, unlimited drinks all the way through was perfect for anyone who loves a drink. It was a Room where we could stay with our dog, and we had no trouble at all. They provide paw-wiping towels, and there are carts available for getting around, so moving around inside the building was no problem. Exploring the neighborhood was also perfect for walking our dog. We ended up taking a relaxing walk for over two hours. With the sea, mountains, an observation deck, and historical sites, there’s so much to see. I was surprised at how beautiful the ocean was, and I was very satisfied with both the food and drinks. I’d love to come again. Thank you very much. Also, I appreciate your hard work changing the entrance mats from 5:00 a.m.—it honestly made me think I need to work harder starting tomorrow.

    Third visit

    I always look forward to the meals. This time it wasn’t very crowded, so we were able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. As for alcohol, my wife was disappointed that there was no hot sake available. Also, larger hand towels would be easier to use. Every time, I look forward to making a photo frame.

    Hmm?

    First, about the meals: there are many dishes, but none of them taste very good. Unless you reduce the number of dishes a bit and improve the taste... I think quality matters more than quantity. Also, the loungewear is too thick. It’s uncomfortable for this season.

    The Room was spacious but felt a bit dated. I would have appreciated cleaner floors and a cleaner unit bath. I stayed with my daughter and grandchild, and I felt this Hotel was very baby-friendly. They also loved the play area and enjoyed spending time there. The lounge was disappointing; I would have liked it to be more spacious and relaxing. If the lounge had been as comfortable as the relaxation area by the baths, I would have wanted to use it. The baths were great.

    Traveling with my wife, daughter, and grandchildren

    Overall, we were satisfied, but… Not being able to get beer at dinner was tough. The large public bath was spacious, but the strong chlorine smell stood out. It was an ideal Facility for families with children.

    We had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the welcome bar, the buffet, the baths, and the Room. The food was high quality and delicious. There was a great selection of salads, which we really appreciated. We also enjoyed the drinks. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Suitable for families with children.

    I stayed with my pet. I was grateful to be able to borrow a cart as well. However, I was surprised by how many guests there were with small children. Pets are not allowed in the lounge for the free drinks, so we had them on the sofa in front of the front desk. But children climbed onto the sofa and played around, and I was worried about contact with my dog. We went back to our Room right away. Breakfast had a good variety and tasted good, but it was so crowded that on the first night we could only get a 9:00 slot, and most items were already picked over, so we couldn’t really enjoy it. On the second day, even when we went at 7:00, it already felt picked over. I appreciate that you grouped couples’ seating toward the back, but it still wasn’t relaxing. In that case, I don’t need breakfast included. The front desk response was also inadequate. I wanted to make a Reservation for a massage and called from my Room, but I was told there would be no one available today or tomorrow. That didn’t seem right, so I went to the front desk and asked someone else; they said there would be availability tomorrow and we completed the Reservation. When I arrived at the scheduled time, I was told it was a menu item that cannot be reserved as a single service. What is going on? The massage technique itself is excellent. It’s located in a vast park and I would like to stay here slowly, and being pet-friendly is very appreciated, but it did not feel worth the price at all. The Room also felt very run-down, and I felt that guests with pets are looked down on. I checked out feeling sad.

    Traveling with Your Dog

    I loved the Hotel’s exterior and interior, the private entrance from the dog room to outside, the welcome drink and snacks, the water dispensers on each floor, the vinegar drink after bathing, and especially the bath itself. It would be even better if the dog run were a bit larger. One thing I didn’t understand: when I went to breakfast on time on the first morning, I had to wait a very long time (about 25 parties ahead).

    The perfect place for families with children.

    All the food was delicious—better than meals at top Hotels, the best I’ve ever had. The bath was also incredibly clean and spacious, truly top-class! Kids can play there too. They clearly invest in the food, bath, and family-friendly features, so it’s highly recommended for families with children. However, the service and Room are average, and if you don’t have children, it’s not recommended because kids may be running around.

    The Room and the Onsen were both clean, and the meals were great!

    We stayed in a Superior Twin Room with three people. One of us used an extra bed, and it was better than expected! We were a bit worried because the Reviews weren’t great, but the Room had been renovated in 2024 and was spacious and very clean. The large public bath was also clean and roomy, and the open-air bath felt wonderful! We were also happy with the provided shampoo and conditioner—they smelled great. The relaxation area offered loquat leaf tea and vinegar water, and we could unwind in a calm, spacious setting. The all-inclusive beer was available until 18:00, and in the evening there were options like gin lime and white liquor lemon as well. It wasn’t too crowded to find seats, so we enjoyed it comfortably! The breakfast buffet had so many choices that we couldn’t possibly try everything, and it was delicious. However, it was disappointing that some grapes were slightly spoiled and the apples weren’t very good. We really enjoyed items like the salmon cutlet burger with a poached egg, donuts, seafood rice bowls, and more! The staff were quick to respond and excellent. Thank you very much.

    I was thrilled to receive a Room upgrade at check-in on the day of arrival. The Room was wonderful, and I’d love to stay in this Room again next time. The staff service was excellent—the best!

    If you’re traveling with kids and have the budget, this is the place!

    Recommended if you have a budget for a family outing. Compared to before, the child-friendly Facility is more fully equipped, so you may also enjoy a Multiple Night Stay.

    The meals are not very good.

    I stayed in Minamiboso last year as well, and this year I also stayed at the Mercure Hotel at Lake Hamana. The Room is very ordinary. However, there is no towel rack. If towels are provided in the bathroom and you only use them once, that’s fine, but if you use the same towel multiple times, there was nowhere to hang it to dry. The Room is quite dry, so it dries somewhat anyway. When we go to the Onsen, both my friends and I bathe three times—once after arriving, once before bed, and once before breakfast. There is no clock in the bathing area—only in the changing room—which is inconvenient. We often time our bath around meal times. Also, there should be a windbreak outside the sliding door to the open-air bath. Every time it opens, cold air comes in; I think it would be very cold in winter. Even this season it wasn’t pleasant—the wind was cold. Most Hotels are designed so wind doesn’t hit you directly. The food was the worst this time. There was a notice about avoiding food loss and so on, but honestly that’s not realistic here. The sushi had toppings smaller than cheap supermarket sushi (?), yet the rice portion was unusually large for that size. Looking around, I think many people were leaving rice uneaten. Most coffee machines offer lattes and cappuccinos anywhere these days, but here there were only regular coffee and Americano. At the onsen egg station there were no small bowls. When I asked for one, they brought something as large as a donburi bowl—I was surprised. The morning scrambled eggs? I expected plain eggs only, but it seemed different somehow. The chestnut cream squeezed onto cakes by machine tasted worse than ever this time—and there wasn’t much of it either. If everything is made consistently at a factory line, shouldn’t it taste the same everywhere? I made a Reservation for both Lake Hamana and Minamiboso because of their great locations. At Lake Hamana I left dissatisfied and stayed one more night at another Hotel afterward. I had stayed in Minamiboso more than three years ago; back then it tasted reasonably good. That’s why last year I went with my son’s family including my young grandchild. It was good for my grandchild to play there, but overall it was disappointing. Maybe this isn’t really a Hotel suited for groups of older friends?

    Wonderful

    We headed toward the peninsula from Tomiura and couldn’t see it at first, which made us a bit worried, but it was located at the very tip of the peninsula. As it’s a five-story building, it wasn’t visible from far away. On a clear day, you may be able to see Mt. Fuji. The location is wonderful. Inside, it was the usual Mercure—excellent as always.

    I had a wonderful vacation.

    We stayed for one night with breakfast and dinner included. The open-air bath was a great touch, and the baths were excellent—we were able to relax. The shampoo and conditioner also seemed high quality. Meals were buffet-style, so we could choose what we liked, and we even enjoyed the desserts. Since there were three of us, one person slept on a mattress placed on the floor. They also provided pet amenities, along with treats and toys, and their thoughtfulness truly impressed us. Overall, it’s a wonderful Hotel, and we would love to stay again. My husband would like to visit with his colleagues as well. Thank you very much.

    I stayed here with my dog.

    It felt affordable, and we were able to stay with our dog. I would be happy if there were a larger dog run where dogs could play more. This time, we took a walk to the beach. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and the sushi was delicious. The all-you-can-drink alcohol option was also very satisfying. I would have liked a chair in the Room.

    We stayed here for an anniversary trip with my boyfriend. We chose this Facility because we were drawn to the buffet-style meals, the Onsen where we could truly relax, and the all-inclusive plan. First of all, the interior was absolutely lovely. From right after check-in, we could use the lounge, and since he loves alcohol, he was thrilled to enjoy plenty of drinks—seeing him so happy made me happiest of all. For the meal we had been looking forward to, we were able to borrow a cart and pick up lots of dishes, which was great. Even though we’re both picky eaters, there was a wide selection across Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine, so we were satisfied. Some Japanese dishes tasted a bit lightly seasoned, and a few items weren’t kept warm and had cooled down, which was slightly disappointing—but being able to choose everything ourselves made it a fun experience overall. Through the official website you can make a Reservation for bouquets, dessert plates, or cakes. We requested a dessert plate; the staff were kind and celebrated with us discreetly. They also happily took photos for us—it became a wonderful memory. Unfortunately it was rainy and very windy so we couldn’t fully enjoy the open-air bath (rotenburo), but it felt much more spacious than in the photos. The sauna was on the smaller side but at a comfortable temperature. The lounge was such a relaxing space that my boyfriend—who had been waiting there—ended up falling fast asleep. Since there is also a sauna, I thought guests might appreciate having drinks like Oropo available as well! We also enjoyed breakfast. There’s a park nearby that you can walk to easily as well—it became another favorite memory for us.

    The Room offered a superb view of the Minamiboso coastline. You can access the beach via a small path from beside the Hotel pool, making it perfect for a stroll. It was a great Hotel for a change of pace.
