    Great food, stunning views

    I was very satisfied. The men's and women's baths were switched the next day, and it was disappointing that the open-air bath had no view. (The view from the open-air bath in the women's section was lovely.)

    Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. Although it was just for one night, we felt truly relaxed. Thank you so much for upgrading our room. This time, my spouse and I stayed together, but next time we are considering coming with our family. However, there are two points I would like to mention: The air conditioning in the room had a very musty smell. After checking in and entering the room, we turned on the air conditioner and headed to the large public bath immediately after. Upon returning to the room about an hour later, we noticed a strong odor which was quite disappointing given how nice the ocean view and overall atmosphere of the room were. Additionally—and I apologize if this is a misunderstanding—regarding the "Night Ramen" (this time white tantanmen) served from 9 PM: We were informed that it would be offered in an adjoining lounge bar area and were looking forward to it; however, upon arrival at that location, it did not match what one might expect from such a name at all. There were many empty ramen bowls left behind by other guests as part of self-service cleanup efforts which made for an unappealing environment. No one appeared to be enjoying alcoholic beverages either. If this is how it's presented currently, perhaps there’s no need to describe it as having any lounge-like qualities when informing guests beforehand? It seems others like us who come with certain expectations may end up feeling disappointed. I apologize if these comments are unnecessary or out of place—thank you for your understanding!

    It was a one-night trip to Izu Kogen with my mother. We were very satisfied with both the room and the meals. Since my mother preferred the bath in the room over the public bath, we chose a room with an Onsen open-air bath. The room was spacious, and we enjoyed the relaxing Onsen experience. The smell of the room wear was slightly concerning, but we would love to visit again if given the chance.

    New Status

    Three years after the renovation, the Facility and amenities are well-maintained, and we were very satisfied. The meals cater to a wide range of generations and can be enjoyed quickly and pleasantly. We would love to visit again if we have the opportunity. We also appreciate the friendly staff.

    Hospitality Services

    I have stayed at various accommodations before, but here, from the front desk staff to the restaurant team and all the staff within the facility, everyone greeted us with genuine smiles and warm hospitality, which I think is truly wonderful. Even if the food is delicious, poor service from staff can ruin everything. However, the staff at this hotel are exceptional!! Additionally, the infinity pool outside of the front desk made me feel like I was abroad and was incredibly relaxing!! I would love to visit again!

    Comfortable and Affordable Accommodation

    Overall satisfying and comfortable onsen hotel. Conveniently close to Tokyo, making travel easy. Some reviews mention that all staff are foreigners, but they work diligently and efficiently, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Nowadays, most accommodations in Japan wouldn't function without foreign staff. The meals are average—neither particularly good nor bad. The dining area can be somewhat noisy, with overly loud BGM that feels unnecessary. Regarding the room furniture: it's puzzling why there is only one chair inside the room for two guests, while there are two chairs on the balcony.

    The Room is good.

    I stayed in the Deluxe Suite, and the room was incredibly spacious. There was plenty of space for my daily stretches, making it very convenient to use. The hallway leading from the entrance of the room had a textured finish that felt great on my feet—though I imagine cleaning it must be challenging. From the room, you can see islands like Oshima. Although it was cloudy during my stay, I imagine it's even more beautiful on a clear day. The bathroom in the room had a low water level, allowing me to enjoy a foot bath while still dressed—very convenient! The bed was also very comfortable to sleep in. Having access to the Premium Lounge on the first floor was great; unlike the lobby lounge, it had a calm atmosphere where I could leisurely enjoy drinks. For those who love drinking, having such a relaxed space is wonderful—I just wish they extended its operating hours! There were some books available there as well; adding more variety would make it even better. Meals were enjoyable with views of nearby islands if seated by the window—a perfect spot for dining with scenery. The parking lot allowed me to choose any spot I liked, which is reassuring when traveling by car. Personally, I appreciated not being seen off when leaving—it gave me time to organize my luggage at my own pace before heading out. However: - The layout inside the toilet area of the room could be improved; despite having such a spacious room overall, entering and exiting felt inconvenient. - While having three TVs in one suite is nice, adjusting angles for viewing from bed wasn’t ideal due to short arm mounts—though longer arms might pose safety concerns. - Walking around nearby areas wasn’t particularly exciting due to steep slopes and limited sights. In summary: The interior was clean and pleasant overall; with good weather conditions during your stay, this accommodation would be fantastic! It’s definitely an accommodation I'd like to visit again.

    Girls' Trip

    This was my first time staying at Kamenoi Hotel. My friend and I decided to take a trip every three months, and since we visited Atami last time, we chose Izu this time as neither of us had been there before. We found Kamenoi Hotel on IKYU.com and decided to stay here. My friend was looking forward to the Onsen, but both the indoor and outdoor Onsen were too hot, so we couldn't fully enjoy them at a leisurely pace. However, the breakfast buffet had a great variety of delicious options and was excellent overall.

    A hidden gem accommodation

    With clear weather, the lounge offered a stunning view of the Izu Islands. The lounge also provided welcome drinks (including alcoholic options), allowing guests to relax on the terrace with a drink in hand and enjoy a truly leisurely time.     Once again, it was amazing! Let me share a few observations.

    Thank you once again for a pleasant stay. I would like to share some feedback with you. - About Dinner: This time's dinner was also very delicious, and I was extremely satisfied! The menu had changed from before, but it tasted even better. It was gentle on the body and offered a special experience that can only be enjoyed here. The amberjack sashimi and roasted pork were particularly exceptional. - About Breakfast: I always look forward to the "Mago Chazuke," but there was a small issue this time. It seemed that the tea and dashi pots were placed in reverse, so when I poured what I thought was dashi, it turned out to be tea, which was slightly disappointing. When I asked the staff about it, they confirmed the mistake and corrected it on the spot. Labeling the pots as "Tea" and "Dashi" might help prevent such confusion in the future. - About Manners in the Public Bath: There were some concerning incidents this time. At night in the public bath, I noticed two individuals bringing smartphones inside; one of them even used their phone inside the sauna, which made me feel uneasy. Additionally, in the morning at the public bath, someone entered wearing outdoor shoes into the changing area. Both instances involved young Asian international guests. This had not happened before during my stays here when everything felt safe and comfortable; hence it left me feeling slightly disappointed this time around. It would be appreciated if measures such as guidance during check-in or regular patrols could ensure continued comfort for all guests moving forward. I look forward to staying with you again soon!     A Hotel You’ll Want to Visit Again

    The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, making the Sakura Street near Izu-Kogen Station and the view of the cherry blossoms from the large public bath absolutely stunning, creating a wonderful stay. I apologize for any inconvenience caused to the staff who kindly pointed out a possible mistake in my room category due to an error in my Reservation. Thank you for running to confirm it at the front desk. The water basin outside the front and the unobstructed view of the sea provided an exceptional sense of openness. The meals were delicious, especially the breakfast buffet, which was outstanding! I look forward to visiting again during another season.

    2 Nights in Superior Twin Room - Takami Plan

    It was a relaxing stay, perhaps because it was the end of Golden Week. The bath was almost like having a private one. At night, I enjoyed Sichuan-style Dan Dan noodles. Despite being labeled "Sichuan," the spiciness was mild and suitable for all age groups. Overall, I was satisfied, but one disappointment was that a different menu item from what was listed appeared. If there’s a change from yellowtail collar to rockfish, it would be nice to have been informed beforehand. The golden eye snapper (kinmedai) was very large and delicious. The staff were approachable and friendly as well. I would love to visit this Hotel again if given the chance!

    A quiet, refined, delicious, and elegant space

    The view from the lobby's water feature to the sea was breathtaking and beautiful. The scenery visible from the room's window, with blooming azaleas, was also stunning. Hearing the chirping of bush warblers was soothing. Both dinner and breakfast were enjoyed in the dining area, where we were guided to a very relaxing spot by the window, making for a comfortable and delicious experience. The staff's service was exceptional and kind. The room was clean, and we were delighted with the wine gift. The Onsen was truly wonderful, showcasing an incredibly high-quality Hotel experience without any flaws. I would love to visit again. Thank you so much!

    Highly satisfied.

    I visited to unwind from daily fatigue. The staff's hospitality, the cleanliness of the room and facilities, and the ocean view were all excellent with very few negatives. If I had to mention anything, it would be that the bath in the room was slightly too hot and that the distance from the room to the restaurant was a bit far. During my stay, I enjoyed relaxing while looking at the ocean, drinking, reading books, soaking in onsen, and spending time leisurely in areas like the lobby, water terrace, or my room. Highlights: - The variety of alcohol in the premium lounge was impressive; just looking at them made me happy. It was also great that I could take drinks back to my room. - Refa hair iron. - Comfortable and easy-to-move-in loungewear provided by the facility. - Breakfast variety and service (staff replenished items promptly). I wish I could have tried everything! Dinner portions were moderate—perhaps that's why there’s late-night tantanmen available. In the morning, I found a stink bug inside on a screen door! After that discovery, I hesitated to open windows leading outside. I realized having a terrace might not be necessary for me next time; I'll book a different type of room for my next visit.

    Relax in the Nature of Izu

    The overall architecture and interior design of the Hotel are excellent. It was a clean and comfortable space. However, having to use two elevators to reach the restaurant might be a bit challenging for elderly guests. If room situations could be selected based on age, it would be even better. Dinner had just the right amount and quality, allowing for a leisurely experience. While many may enjoy the breakfast buffet, it can be inconvenient for elderly guests to select and carry their food; offering a set meal option in the morning would make it even better.

    The view was spectacular.

    This was my first visit. The Room was spacious with a great view, but the couch that could be used as a sofa was too high, making it difficult to sit. The amenities felt slightly lacking, and there was only one door lock without a chain or door guard, which made me feel uneasy. However, aside from these points, I had no major complaints and enjoyed a comfortable stay. The staff were all kind and helpful, making my first experience at this Hotel worthwhile.

    This was my first stay at the accommodation. When the shuttle service arrived at the hotel, staff members lined up to welcome us, creating a ryokan-like atmosphere. The view from the entrance was stunning. At check-in, a staff member explained everything clearly using a facility map since the restaurant, bathhouse, and room were in separate buildings. Thank you for upgrading my room at that time. Breakfast had a wide variety of options and was enjoyable. It was a hotel that perfectly combined the efficiency of a hotel with the hospitality of a ryokan.

    Stayed here last year, and my husband insisted on returning for a second visit. Even though we arrived quite early, we were warmly welcomed at the outdoor reception and guided to our accommodation. We loved relaxing on the terrace by the front desk as well as the room's terrace. Dinner was delicious, perfectly balanced, and enjoyable until the very last bite. We also enjoyed multiple visits to the bath—it was absolutely wonderful. We would love to come back again!

    I made a Reservation...

    I made a Reservation to relax. It was my first time using this Hotel, and I enjoyed the beautiful view and the perfect temperature of the private open-air bath in the Room while looking at the sea. The Room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of face towels provided, which was great. We visited for a special occasion and received wonderful hospitality—thank you very much. The meals were delicious and perfectly portioned for us, making it stress-free to enjoy them. We often visit Izu, but this Hotel is just as lovely as my favorite one we usually stay at. My husband and I are already talking about coming back soon. The check-in process was excellent thanks to the amazing staff; however, during check-out, there were some moments that made me pause (?). Still, it’s a fantastic Hotel where we could truly relax—thank you!

    Very comfortable, it became a great memory.

    We visited for a retirement celebration trip. The hospitality was excellent, and everything from the amenities, meals, tableware, to the guidance was wonderful. From the bath, we could see fully bloomed cherry blossoms right in front of us, and the view of the sea from the open-air bath on the second floor was breathtaking. One suggestion would be regarding the Room wear and tabi socks provided with sandals; however, the thong part of the sandals was uncomfortable and could use some improvement. The beef served at dinner felt a bit tough; that was slightly disappointing. From our Room, we had a beautiful view of Izu's Seven Islands. The complimentary late-night spicy noodles were also a memorable treat. Overall, we were very satisfied!

This accommodation excels in all aspects—meals, onsen, and service—offering an overall high standard of hospitality. Access to the premium lounge is particularly recommended for those seeking an even more luxurious stay. - Note - Although unrelated to the hotel itself, it was unpleasant when someone (likely not Japanese) repeatedly dipped their towel into the communal bath as if washing it after cooling off inappropriately in the large public bath area.

    Universal

    The universal room was very helpful as my son uses a wheelchair. During our stay, I noticed several other wheelchair users, which made me feel that this hotel is friendly to people with disabilities. The dinner was very luxurious and satisfying. The staff's service was also kind and excellent. Although the sky was covered with yellow dust on the day, we were able to enjoy the ocean view from the open-air bath in the morning.

    What a shame about the rain.

    Due to the rain, we couldn't visit the Grinpa Illumination near the accommodation and decided to relax in the room. Since the room was at the far corner, there was no view from the window. It would have been nice to know this during the reservation, but it was unfortunate. The meals exceeded expectations and were delicious.

    The service was excellent, providing a comfortable and friendly experience throughout our stay. Our room was upgraded to one with a terrace, offering stunning views and an open-air bath, which was absolutely amazing. Dinner was another highlight, enjoyed with breathtaking ocean views and served in beautiful tableware. The dishes made from fresh local ingredients were truly delicious and impressive. This is an accommodation I would definitely want to visit again!
