    Premium Lounge

    There is a good selection of alcoholic drinks, but very few snacks. I would have liked items such as cheese and salami. I didn’t feel it was “premium,” so it was a bit disappointing.

    It is a good Hotel.

    This was my first visit. The Room was spacious and the view was great. Not only the Room, but also the bath, changing area, and the entire Hotel were spotless. It felt like it had just opened or been renovated. Every staff member was very pleasant. At mealtime we were served by international staff, but they explained everything properly and everyone was friendly. The crab was delicious. Some Reviews mentioned that the bath water temperature is a bit hot, but it was just right for me and felt wonderful. There were hardly any negatives, but just one... the bed mattress felt quite firm and I had trouble sleeping; my lower back hurt a little in the morning. After making my Reservation, I realized Kamenoi Hotel has locations in many prefectures, so I’d like to look into other areas as well. Thank you for taking care of us.

    This is the second time.

    We stayed for one night from Wednesday, January 28. As with our previous visit, Kamenoi Hotel Izu Kogen is a Hotel we can be fully satisfied with in every aspect, including hospitality, service, and meals. Neither of us likes sashimi, so when we mentioned this to the front desk at check-in, they kindly accommodated us by changing the menu. They did the same on our last stay as well, and we truly appreciate it. If we have the opportunity, we would love to stay again.

    A complimentary drink corner in the lounge, now with wine and beer!

    Two years ago, I stayed here once and felt it was a very good Hotel considering the balance between what you get and the price. Since then, I have stayed about three more times. I stayed again after a year, and the lounge’s complimentary drink corner had added beer and wine. The food was as delicious as before. The staff who assisted us at check-in and during dinner were polite and pleasant. There were more foreign staff members than before, but it was clear they were working hard, which left a good impression. However, during dinner, the dishes were served quite quickly. I chose the plan with all-you-can-eat crab; previously they checked our pace and brought the next dish around when we had finished the crab, but this time dishes kept coming one after another, which felt rushed. That was my only disappointment.

    Impressed by the view right after arriving at the Hotel!

    Upon arriving at the Hotel, I was amazed by the ocean view through the glass and how the sky reflected like a mirror on the water terrace. Every meal was delicious. The Onsen made my skin feel smooth, and the view from the open-air bath was breathtaking. I also appreciated having drinks available anytime in the lounge.

    Rooms, meals, hospit...

    Rooms, meals, hospitality services, Onsen... At such an affordable price, I can't think of any other accommodation that offers this level of satisfaction. I was deeply moved by the kindness and pleasant demeanor of each staff member and spent my time feeling very warm-hearted. Thank you so much.

    I would love to stay here again.

    The main reason for choosing this accommodation was the good reviews, and it truly lived up to expectations as an excellent hotel. First, I was amazed by the beautiful view upon entering the lobby. The staff kindly assisted with a small request regarding my family's meal, which was very helpful. Dinner was elegant and delicious, with plenty of dishes that left us completely satisfied (we couldn't even fit in the late-night tantanmen noodles!). Breakfast also offered a wide variety of options and was both enjoyable and tasty. The onsen was very relaxing, and I could tell it was well-maintained and clean. The morning bath was especially soothing. Depending on the season, there didn’t seem to be many guests during our stay, allowing us to enjoy a peaceful time overall. I would love to visit again in the future—thank you!

    The meals are not satisfactory.

    The room is a terrace twin with a semi-open-air bath. The room was clean and the size was just right. Although the bath was not a natural hot spring, its size and temperature were quite good. Many of the staff were polite, and the premium lounge had a wide variety of drinks, which was great. However, it was slightly disappointing that there were few snacks or sweets—just nuts, one type of biscuit, and small cakes (which ran out quickly). The large public bath and sauna were also satisfying. However, the meals were not very delicious. Most dishes seemed to use inexpensive ingredients with simple flavors. I had high expectations for the breakfast buffet after seeing it on YouTube—it looked delicious—but even the rice wasn’t tasty... It turned out to be an ordinary buffet. On the other hand, the late-night ramen (tantanmen) served at night was very delicious! Overall, I was very satisfied except for the meals.

    Gourmet Accommodation

    I went on a trip for my companion's birthday. The reviews were excellent, yet the price was reasonable, so I was curious and excited. The exterior was beautiful, the water terrace and the staff's smiles were wonderful. The room, which I had been slightly worried about due to its appearance in photos, turned out to be very clean. The bath facilities were convenient and enjoyable multiple times without needing to bring anything. However, what stood out the most was the food. The creative Japanese kaiseki dinner showcased impeccable skills with every dish being delicious. The black tantanmen served as night soba was also exceptional. And then there was breakfast—the buffet was the best I've ever had! The Japanese dishes like sea bream with grated yam and squid patties were outstanding. Surprisingly, even the French toast exceeded expectations with its light texture and perfect execution. From appetizers to desserts, everything left me completely satisfied. As someone who values gourmet experiences during trips, this stay exceeded all expectations! On our way back home, we bought some of the hotel's special red tantanmen noodles as souvenirs and stopped by their welcome sweets shop. I would love to visit again!

    A safe and comfortable accommodation you can visit anytime.

    I travel with my elderly mother for a one-night trip about twice a month, and before I knew it, this accommodation became our regular choice. The lobby, room, and meals are always comfortable and flawless. It seems this will continue to be our monthly go-to accommodation.

    It was a relaxing experience.

    The accommodation was clean with an outstanding view, and I enjoyed the Onsen in the room multiple times. The meals were delicious, especially the sashimi and simmered golden eye snapper, with just the right portions. I also had a late-night snack, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options to choose from. Local ingredients were creatively prepared and tasted great. Additionally, the in-house wear was stylish and came in various sizes, making it comfortable to relax. However, the washing area in the large public bath's changing space felt slightly cramped, and I wished there were chairs at every spot. Also, there was only one chair in our room; since we were two people, having another would have been ideal. The weather on our stay was perfect for enjoying breathtaking views. My friend who accompanied me was very satisfied as well and mentioned feeling rejuvenated after this stay!

    It was a very satisfying stay.

    We stayed for two nights in a room with a private semi-open-air Onsen. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and extremely comfortable. The highlight was the semi-open-air Onsen in the room, featuring a large bathtub with an excellent view and perfectly balanced water temperature. We thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen throughout the second day. The premium lounge offered a wide variety of options, including alcoholic beverages, which added to our satisfaction. The staff provided exceptional service, making this one of the accommodations we would love to revisit.

    The quality of meals has significantly declined, which is disappointing.

    This is my third stay at this accommodation, having used it every New Year in recent years (including two stays of Multiple Night Stay and this time with the second night at a different Accommodation). Initially, I was captivated by the creative Japanese cuisine served in a French course style during dinner, with each dish being small yet intricately prepared and delicious, which led me to return annually. However, over the past year or so, I have noticed a decline in both taste and quality compared to three years ago despite similar menus. During this visit, appetizers appeared dry as if they had been plated for some time; even the sashimi lacked freshness and was served in smaller portions. That said, dishes like simmered golden eye snapper and Izu rice were as delicious as before. I am unlikely to return next year.

    The service and cuisine are excellent.

    The sound of water running through the pipes from other rooms' toilets and showers was quite loud, and the noise from the air conditioning made it difficult to sleep well. It was very disappointing, especially since other services were excellent. To reach the outdoor open-air bath from the large public bath, you have to climb a considerable distance of stairs in the cold. I think measures like providing warm air along the way would be helpful. The breakfast buffet was outstanding in both quality and quantity—the best I've ever had.

    We look forward to welcoming you again.

    This was my first time staying here, and I was very satisfied with the spacious and relaxing accommodations. The balcony view was great, and the open-air bath, large vanity area, and amenities were excellent. Dinner included an all-you-can-eat crab option, Shizuoka Wagyu beef, and other delicious dishes. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of Japanese and Western options, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Lastly, the staff's Shuttle Service and attentiveness to guests made for a pleasant stay. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Unfortunately.

    The experience might have been better with regular pricing, but paying several times more during the New Year made it feel very disappointing. - Check-in: We were guided to a sofa and waited for quite a while without any indication of timing. - Room: The cleaning was not thorough, as there were small debris and hair on the bed. - Restaurant: We dined with our 1-year-old child and were seated at a sofa table. Since our child couldn’t sit still, it was challenging throughout the meal. By the end of our meal, we noticed there was a baby chair available. It would have been helpful if staff had informed us about it earlier. - Meals: The website mentioned dishes like spiny lobster and simmered alfonsino; however, the ingredients served were significantly downgraded in quality. The breakfast buffet lacked timely replenishment and wasn’t tasty either—most items were cold. Lastly, when filling out the in-room survey using the provided pen, I found that its ink had run out. Having stayed at various accommodations before, this is my first time feeling so disappointed. The only positive aspect was the ocean view from the semi-open-air bath in our room. While presented as a premium accommodation, both dinner/breakfast offerings and room quality felt more like mid-grade hotel standards.

    I stayed in the Prem...

    I stayed in the Premium Terrace Twin Room for one night. The check-in process overlooking the water terrace was delightful, and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at 5:30 PM as planned. Afterward, I visited the Grandpal Illumination. It’s about a 5-minute drive from the Hotel, and tickets were conveniently available at the front desk, making it easy to enjoy the illumination. Since I had hesitated to visit Izu Kogen just for this nighttime event due to its distance, being able to go was very satisfying. After returning, I relaxed in the large public bath and enjoyed the open-air bath in my room before having a drink at the Premium Lounge! It was great that drinks from the lounge could be brought back to my room. If anything, it would be nice if there were more snack options and better takeaway cups available. Having to go back and forth between the front lounge and Premium Lounge felt slightly inconvenient. I also tried their late-night tantanmen noodles—it’s such a treat having late-night snacks included! The breakfast buffet was exceptional. With plenty of local ingredients used, including half portions of dried horse mackerel (aji), it left me thoroughly impressed. Breakfast turned out to be my favorite memory!

    First Stay

    It was my first time using this accommodation. I decided to stay here on my wedding anniversary as a trial visit since I wanted to bring my elderly mother with walking difficulties. When I noted in the reservation comment section that it was for our wedding anniversary, I was surprised to find that our room had been upgraded to the premium floor. In the room, there was a decorative cake made of towels with a message card and even a gift of bite-sized chocolates, which deeply moved me. During dinner, we were offered complimentary drinks, and they carefully asked about alcohol preferences before serving. The hot springs, meals, and staff service were all excellent. I feel confident bringing my mother here again. Looking forward to staying with you next time as well!

    A lovely accommodation with a great view

    We chose a room with an open-air bath this time, as we had such a great experience before. The attentive service, stunning views, and delicious meals featuring melt-in-your-mouth meat and fresh seafood made for a truly relaxing stay. Since it was the year-end season, there were noticeable foreign staff members serving meals, but their enthusiastic service reflected the excellent training provided by the accommodation. However, there were a couple of points that caught our attention this time, so we hope for improvements in the future. First is about the wagyu steak. My partner mentioned it was too fatty to eat. Upon checking, three-quarters of their three or four slices of steak consisted of fat. While mine was high-quality marbled beef, most of my partner's portion was just fat. This level of quality felt unacceptable and needs improvement. The second issue concerns dinner service as well. When asked about drinks and I mentioned that I don't drink alcohol, the staff simply left without offering anything else. There wasn’t even water or tea on our table afterward. This particular staff member was Japanese; perhaps they misunderstood me but not suggesting soft drinks or tea and leaving us unattended seemed unprofessional. Compared to our previous visit, this room cost about 30,000 yen more but felt worth it for its value. On the other hand, dinner pricing also had a similar increase but didn’t feel justified in terms of quality or experience—check-in wasn’t particularly smooth either—and there wasn’t much difference in food quality compared to before. Also curious why guests with less expensive meal plans got window-side seating? That said though—it remains an incredibly lovely accommodation we’d love to visit again!

    I want to visit again!

    I have visited Hakone and Izu countless times, starting from my childhood due to their proximity. However, this accommodation was truly the best. From the moment of check-in, the hospitality was exceptional. The meals were carefully prepared, with refined and delicious flavors. Although it rained on the first day, the stay more than made up for it. I will definitely visit again!

    Hotel with Ocean View

    Stayed for one night on December 20, R7. Upon entering the Hotel, the ocean view from the lobby was stunning, and the Facility was very beautiful. Drinks were available freely, giving an all-inclusive feel which was great. I had requested a sea-facing room in my comments, and they kindly accommodated this request. The Room also had a view of the ocean and Oshima Island. The building seemed slightly old as voices from people passing through the hallway could be heard clearly. Regarding meals, there were two similar dishes served consecutively, and it would have been nice if staff could explain the names of the four sashimi items; perhaps they were busy at that time. The bath was excellent. The price was very reasonable for such a satisfying stay. I would love to visit again!

    It was a nice accommodation with a distant view of the sea!

    The large bath and dining area were spacious and thoughtfully designed, but the dining area felt a bit too large, giving it a slightly lonely atmosphere. This might have been because there were only a few guests at the time.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I stayed here with my wife for my birthday trip. The Room offered a breathtaking view of the vast ocean and the islands floating on it. Of course, the spacious Room was impeccably clean and wonderful in every corner. The meals were delicious, and the staff's attentiveness was exceptional. I will visit again!

    Highly Satisfied

    Despite many accommodations experiencing staff shortages, this accommodation has well-organized staffing. The hospitality and attentiveness of the staff were excellent. Since it was a weekday and not crowded, I was able to relax and unwind. The free drink service in the lounge was also very satisfying. Thank you for promptly accommodating our last-minute change in the number of guests on the day of arrival. I will visit again!

    My favorite Hotel.

    The staff are always kind, and I truly appreciate it. I can return home feeling refreshed. When I stayed in September, I mentioned wanting a handrail in the bathroom, and this time there was one, which made things much easier. My husband takes several baths during our stay, so it would be great if yukatas or bathrobes were provided.

    I had an incredibly satisfying and elegant stay.

    I was captivated by the photos of the water terrace and decided to stay on short notice, but this turned out to be an even more wonderful hotel than I had expected. The view from the water terrace was truly stunning. I was amazed at how close Oshima appeared, and in the morning, watching the sunlight pour over Oshima was incredibly beautiful and moving. (The evening menu featured a drawing of the Seven Islands, which made it even more enjoyable to gaze at them while referring to it.) Dinner wasn’t a buffet, allowing for a calm dining experience with just the right portion sizes. At the lounge, alcoholic beverages were complimentary, and personally, I found their green tea exceptionally delicious. Since it was available for purchase at their shop, I bought some green tea along with sake from Shizuoka as souvenirs. The free-flow drink service was also a delightful touch. Including the excellent hospitality provided by all staff members, this hotel offered an overall high-quality experience that left me completely satisfied. The Onsen and hospitality washed away all my fatigue from the year and left me feeling rejuvenated. I will definitely visit again—thank you very much!

    My first stay at the...

    My first stay at the Izu Kogen Kamenoi Hotel was wonderful. Thanks to the prior phone call confirming allergy-friendly meals and wheelchair arrangements, all my concerns were addressed, and I looked forward to the day with excitement! During check-in, as part of the IKYU Diamond benefits, I was able to check in smoothly at the premium lounge. A bottle of Spumante was prepared in the refrigerator, and a wheelchair was ready from where we got out of the car, which gave us peace of mind. When guided to our room, we were surprised by a two-tiered cake-like arrangement made from bath towels and towels tied with ribbons on the living room table. Alongside it were a cute message card and chocolate treats for celebration—everyone took photos and shared joy together! At dinner, they kindly asked about alcoholic or non-alcoholic preferences for celebratory drinks. The meal was delicious and brought us happiness—thank you so much! The hotel interior is very clean with an excellent sense of cleanliness. The water terrace is stunning; both its view and that from our room were breathtakingly beautiful. Some guests enjoyed taking photos or relaxing on deck chairs there. The loungewear provided is comfortable yet stylish, amenities are carefully selected—it lifted our spirits! The late-night ramen warmed us up again; it was also delicious. Our room matched this high standard: spacious with TVs in each area allowing everyone to relax while watching their favorite shows comfortably lying down—it had everything needed for a pleasant stay without lacking anything essential. We enjoyed using massage chairs while watching TV in living spaces or soaking up magnificent views through private open-air baths & balconies—the experience made leaving difficult because every moment felt fulfilling! All staff members displayed kindness & professionalism reflecting thorough training; services exceeded expectations throughout—from well-stocked shops where hats/souvenirs could be purchased too! Discovering how many Kamenoi Hotels exist nationwide during this first visit inspired thoughts about exploring others someday soon beyond just here within beautiful Izukogen itself. Lastly regarding meals: among four course options offered overall portions seemed slightly modest unless choosing seasonal crab buffet plans (which sufficed).     I had high expectations.

    The check-in service was excellent and very soothing. However, during check-out, the staff seemed busy and focused on their tasks, even when guests with lots of luggage or wheelchairs passed by, which felt a bit disappointing. The Room's private indoor bath had stairs, making it safe for my elderly mother to use comfortably. However, the floor after bathing was uneven due to drainage design, making it difficult for elderly individuals to walk. The bed was slightly high; a step stool would be helpful. The toilet door opens inward, making the space tight and challenging for elderly or physically impaired guests; an outward-opening door would provide more space and comfort. For breakfast time, adding features like film coverings or blinds to soften the morning sunlight would allow guests to enjoy their meal while admiring the beautiful ocean view. I understand this might be challenging but hope you can consider these suggestions.
