    Amidst ongoing domes...

    Amidst ongoing domestic travel, I spontaneously decided to visit an onsen with an open-air bath and made a reservation at Kamenoi Hotel. Having traveled extensively both domestically and internationally, I was delighted by the modest yet attentive service that provided a comfortable and relaxing experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the onsen. The food was incredibly delicious!! I want to eat it again!! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

    Summer Vacation in Izu Kogen

    I have a villa in Amagi Kogen, so I spend every summer going back and forth between my home in Tokyo and there. One of my favorite things is staying for one night at an Onsen Ryokan in Izu Kogen before returning to Tokyo. This was my first time staying at Kamenoi Hotel. Having stayed at various Ryokans and Hotels in Izu Kogen, I must say the cost performance here is exceptional. The dinner was delicious, featuring simple yet exquisite dishes made with seasonal ingredients from Izu. The room had an open-air bath, making it comfortable to stay while enjoying the beautiful scenery. The view from the entrance lobby was also stunning, with a lovely water feature adding charm. This has now become one of my go-to accommodations in Izu Kogen!

    Reliable Accommodation

    Great value for money. Not a luxury hotel, but you can enjoy touches of luxury here and there. Resources are focused on essential areas by eliminating excessive services. It would be perfect if there were more flexibility with dinner times, but it's not a major concern. This is an accommodation where you can feel at ease and want to visit anytime.

    What a shame, it's so good...

    A disappointing stay where the negatives overshadowed the positives. The "cold towel" service on the shuttle service from the station... very good. Smooth welcome upon arrival at the accommodation... very good. Room guidance and explanation... very good. However, regarding meals, it was disappointing overall. Dishes that should have been warm were all served cold, clearly prepared in advance. The next dishes were already placed on a wagon beside the table, and even tea orders were charged extra—an unprecedented experience for an accommodation in this price range. It felt like a staff-first approach rather than guest-first service. There was no farewell gesture from the dining area either. If only warm dishes had been served warm, they would have undoubtedly tasted much better—but unfortunately, they weren't. Even the final rice dish was cold; none of the dishes had any steam rising from them—a single word: disappointing. The breakfast on the following day also lacked warmth; there wasn’t even hot tea provided—only iced tea with ice cubes—and even miso soup was served cold. It’s unfortunate because it feels like this place has potential to be much better than what we experienced during our stay.

    It was disappointing in many ways...

    I visited to create memories before giving birth using the Maternity Plan, but many things were disappointing. [Meals] After being shown to our table, my chair was pushed in immediately before I had even sat down, and my belly was pressed against the table. It hurt. A blanket was offered, but since it was midsummer, a cushion for back support would have been much more helpful. Because it was the Maternity Plan, I was told raw items could be changed; however, the sashimi (splendid alfonsino, butterfish, and tuna) was replaced with yellowtail shabu-shabu. I could understand sea bream shabu-shabu, but why yellowtail...? In addition, there were plenty of yellowtail sashimi at the breakfast buffet the next day. It felt like choosing this plan lowered the dinner quality, which was extremely disappointing. What surprised me further was that while the pot for the yellowtail shabu-shabu was still being heated and my family were eating their sashimi, we were each served the next Western-style plate (steak) with “It’s ready,” leaving us to eat fish and meat at the same time. When asked, “Shall we serve the grilled vegetables later?” I requested they be brought later—but then they arrived alone after both fish and meat were finished, which left me feeling very uncomfortable about how everything flowed. After we finished the rice dish as well, our plates were cleared right away and dessert was placed in front of us with “Please take your time,” but our total time at dinner was only 1 hour 10 minutes. Being rushed from one dish to another like that was truly painful—nothing but exhausting. Pregnant guests cannot eat at that speed... For something advertised as a Maternity Plan, this is unacceptable. [Lounge] I understood that Premium Room guests can use the Premium Lounge; however, perhaps because no Hotel staff were present there at all times, I saw several non-eligible groups quietly using it. [View Information] I was told we could see the sunset from the restaurant, but due to its layout it wasn’t possible. [Smell of Cigarettes] There were occasional cigarette smells in places such as by elevator halls and along corridors. [Amenities] The cups in the washroom had been placed upside down while still wet. Also, there were only wooden clogs and sandals available for indoor footwear options inside; it was uncomfortable. As others have mentioned as well: it seems loungewear also serves as sleepwear here; I felt uncomfortable having to use facilities around Accommodation in that outfit and then sleep in it as-is. For these reasons overall، I did not feel this Accommodation is suitable for Diamond members.

    Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we had a very satisfying trip in the beautiful Room. We also made great use of the drink bar in the lounge. Since we were traveling with children, it would have been nice to have a wider variety of snacks. We look forward to staying again next time!

    It was excellent.

    The meals, Onsen, and guest rooms were all highly satisfying. In particular, the meals were excellent. Dinner was served in just the right portions, allowing us to enjoy fresh seafood. Breakfast was a buffet with freshly prepared delicious dishes, and I ended up eating too much. Additionally, the lounge was freely accessible, and I enjoyed a delightful morning café latte there. The guest room, Onsen, sauna, and karaoke were also great. The only thing that caught my attention was the temperature of the cold bath; personally, I thought it could have been a bit colder. I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity.

    Stayed at the accommodation for my birthday~

    I celebrated my birthday here. The terrace next to the lobby had sparkling water, offering different beautiful views in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The lobby was lovely, with clouds you could gaze at endlessly. I really appreciated the drink service and yukata service. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and having a late-night snack was a wonderful bonus! The bath was great as well, and I enjoyed karaoke too. All the staff were very kind and welcoming. Thanks to everyone, I had an amazing birthday celebration! I would love to come back again if I have the chance! I've already recommended it to my mother as well. Thank you so much for everything!

    Excellent service, room, meals, and bath - unbeatable value for money!

    I stayed here with my friend for a final trip before giving birth. The staff were considerate of my pregnancy during meals, and the food was absolutely amazing. The golden eye snapper was incredibly delicious, and even the appetizers exceeded all expectations. The room and public bath were impeccably clean, making our stay very comfortable. This was my first time staying at Kamenoi Hotel, but I became such a fan that I want to visit again with my family after my child is born! This is a wonderful accommodation that I can recommend to families with children, couples, or friends traveling together!

    Everything is good!

    The scenery, meals, and Onsen were all extremely satisfying. The drink service in the lobby and the late-night snacks were particularly delicious and wonderful. This is a truly lovely accommodation that prioritizes hospitality over profit. I would love to visit again.

    Satisfaction - Cold towels provided on the shuttle bus - Breathtaking view as soon as you open the entrance door - Lobby with a free drink and alcohol bar - Onsen open-air bath in guest rooms with a roof, allowing a pleasant breeze to flow in - Large public bath equipped with face and bath towels - Friendly staff who greet you as they pass by - Open-air bath overlooking Sagami Bay at the top of the stairs - Kaiseki cuisine made with plenty of local ingredients - Freshly brewed coffee made by grinding beans yourself after breakfast Disappointments: - Morning dry sauna was not powered on, temperature at 52°C (quickly resolved) - Black mold above the ice machine outlet Overall, highly rated.

    Comfortable Stay

    I had a pleasant stay from check-in to check-out. The water terrace was comfortable, and I enjoyed relaxing with free-flow drinks. The ocean-view bath had such a beautiful scenery that I didn’t want to leave. The meals were not overly large in portion but were satisfying and delicious when eaten slowly. Thank you for the luxurious birthday dessert plate! The late-night tantanmen was also very tasty. All the staff members were very kind, and I never had an unpleasant experience during my stay. One thing that caught my attention was the loud voices of guests from a certain country, which slightly disrupted the atmosphere. However, this is not the Hotel's fault, so it can't be helped. This has become one of the Hotels I’d like to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Always amazing, no matter when you visit!

    I made a reservation for my parents because I had such a great impression when I visited before. When I informed the accommodation in advance that it was for my parents' birthday and appreciation celebration, they kindly prepared a wonderful gift in the room on the day, which we deeply appreciated. My parents were delighted, saying, "The staff everywhere were so pleasant, and we had an excellent stay." The weather was perfect throughout their stay, and they enjoyed stunning views of the sea and Oshima from their room. They were especially impressed by the breathtaking scenery from the lobby and pool terrace in the evening. As with our previous visit, they thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in both the private open-air bath attached to their room and the large public Onsen. The meals were also exceptional. My parents loved it so much that they requested an extension of their stay at short notice. Even then, you kindly arranged for them to move to another room smoothly—thank you very much for your thoughtful care! I hope to spend another wonderful time at your hotel myself next time! Thank you again!

    First Visit

    I stayed here for my husband's birthday. Since we both love alcohol, we were delighted to find sparkling wine available in the premium lounge! The accommodation was spotless, both inside and out, and we enjoyed a relaxing time on the waterfront terrace. My husband loved it as well, which made me very happy! This has become one of the accommodations I’d love to visit again!

    Recommended for those who want to relax.

    Stayed in a room with an open-air bath. Completely satisfied with the cleanliness, facilities, meals, and staff service. However, the premium check-in had a long waiting time in the lobby and did not feel particularly special. The parking lot was spacious and easy to maneuver, which was excellent.

    I stayed here for a ...

    I stayed here for a trip with my parents. The Hotel staff were very kind, and the food provided was delicious. Scent sensitivity may vary by person, but I reserved two Rooms, and in one of them, there was an odor coming from the sink in the toilet area. Without opening the window for ventilation, the smell from the drain would fill up the Room. The next day, they kindly provided an additional air purifier, which helped reduce the odor. The Onsen in the Room and public bath are not free-flowing but use a circulation system; occasionally, insects or hair float on its surface, which can be concerning.

    Room, hospitality, and service were all excellent value for money.

    We were able to relax and enjoy our stay without stress, even with children. Since the kids couldn't wait for a long dinner, we chose a breakfast-only Plan this time, but next time we'd love to try dinner as well. It's rare to find such a comfortable Hotel for families with children, so we definitely want to visit again! Thank you very much.

    Deluxe Suite Room

    It was a very good Hotel for families with babies. We appreciated the diaper box provided. The upgraded meals were also very delicious. The baby basket and blanket rental were extremely helpful. On our departure, we had a commemorative photo taken on the terrace, making it the best first trip for our 4-month-old grandchild.

    It used to be good, but...

    I have stayed at this accommodation several times, including in the suite room, as it is one of my favorites. To summarize briefly, the staff's thoughtfulness and service used to feel more personal and satisfying in the past, but this time I was a bit disappointed. Swallows came to build a nest in the private open-air bath of the guest room, leading to multiple visits for removal, and maintenance staff had to come due to air conditioning issues. These disruptions made it difficult to relax during my stay. What surprised me most was that there were no words addressing these inconveniences at checkout. Overall, it is a well-balanced onsen accommodation; however, it seems that the level of service has been declining year by year.

    A Hotel That Meets Your Every Need

    Thank you for the wonderful experience. Kamenoi Hotel is truly a hotel that pays attention to every detail. 1. The layout made it easy to move between the bath and dining areas, which was very convenient. 2. It’s a very senior-friendly hotel. In the restaurant, I noticed many people using walkers with trays for their meals, which was thoughtful and helpful for those with mobility issues. 3. Free ice and water were available in the hallway (there was also a pitcher with a lid provided in the room). This saved us from having to stop at convenience stores during our trip just to buy drinks—such a relief! 4. What I appreciated most personally was how cool the dressing area in the bathhouse was! Usually, dressing rooms are so hot that you start sweating right after getting out of the bath, even if there’s only a fan available—and standing directly in front of it can feel awkward too! But Kamenoi Hotel had air conditioning in their dressing area, making it refreshingly cool and comfortable to change clothes. Additionally, instead of serving welcome beer from draft machines like many hotels do, they offered chilled bottled beer—a small but thoughtful touch that stood out. The souvenir shop next to the lobby had an excellent selection of snacks and treats; everything looked delicious enough that we didn’t feel like we needed to shop elsewhere. The pamphlet provided by the hotel introduced us to an amazing manju shop nearby—it turned out to be one of my favorite places for manju in Izu-Kogen! There was also information about a handmade bakery close by; unfortunately, when we visited on Tuesday, it happened to be their day off—something worth noting for future visits. Honestly, I wonder why I hadn’t discovered this hotel sooner—it’s such a hidden gem! While part of me doesn’t want too many people finding out about this place (to keep it less crowded), I wholeheartedly recommend Kamenoi Hotel with confidence. I’ve heard there’s another Kamenoi Hotel location in Chiba—I’m looking forward to visiting there next time! This review ended up being quite long as I tried reaching my word count goal—but thank you again for creating such wonderful memories!

    Always satisfying, no matter when you visit.

    I usually stay from autumn to winter, but this was my first time during the hot season. The dinner featured delicious seasonal dishes with exceptional taste. In the private open-air Onsen in the guest room, I relaxed while listening to the chirping of bush warblers, soothing my daily fatigue. Time passed slowly, and although I haven't decided on my next stay yet, I'm looking forward to visiting again.

    Upon arrival by car, windmills and wind chimes created a refreshing atmosphere near the entrance. Inside the entrance, there was a terrace with a panoramic view of the ocean, offering a sense of openness. The meals were delicious, and the monthly special late-night tantanmen was excellent in both portion size and taste. The staff provided good service overall. The large public bath allowed access to both sides on alternating days, and private options were also available, which was appreciated. However, one downside was that only one staff member managed the car drop-off area during check-in. This caused delays as they attended to earlier arrivals first, leaving us waiting in a hot car. Having an additional staff member during this time would improve the experience. While there was a free-flow drink service available, it had limited variety and often ran out of stock, which was disappointing.

    Travel for Three Generations

    Last year, we stayed in the Deluxe Suite for our three-generation family trip and were very satisfied, so we decided to return this year. For our grandchildren's birthday celebration, a dessert set with fireworks was provided, which made them very happy. The meals were excellent in presentation, taste, and portion size—we finished everything. The sake tasting set of Isojiman was also delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed both the private open-air bath in the Room and the bath on the basement floor. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Satisfaction...

    We stayed in a Deluxe Suite as a group of five women. We enjoyed a wonderful time at the Premium Lounge with alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Dinner featured dishes made with local specialties from Izu, which were truly delicious and served in just the right portions. The entire accommodation had a relaxing atmosphere, making it one of the top three hotels or ryokans I've ever stayed at. I would definitely love to stay here again—it was such an exceptional hotel!

    Izu Trip

    This was my first time staying here. The female staff member who guided us to our Room during check-in was very polite, and my wife was delighted that she understood her feelings about disliking insects. The Facility, which was renovated four years ago, was very clean. However, the outdoor bath in the Room had a slight chlorine smell that bothered me a bit. The dining area was spacious and tables were set apart from each other, allowing us to relax. The dishes were served with perfect timing, showing great coordination among the staff. We also used the premium lounge; however, my wife, who doesn't drink alcohol, found it somewhat lacking. While there were many types of tea available, she mentioned it would have been nice if there were desserts or snacks that paired well with tea. As for the late-night tantanmen noodles offered as a snack—personally, I didn't enjoy them as they resembled somen noodles too much for my taste. If you're using those noodles anyway, I think plain somen or regular ramen would be better options unless there's some special reason behind serving tantanmen this way. Breakfast felt like it had fewer options than expected; however, the grilled fish was exceptionally delicious. As others have mentioned in their reviews as well—it felt slightly disappointing that no staff members were present near the automatic doors after we checked out to see us off properly. Even if not escorting guests all the way to their cars—having at least a few staff members by those doors would leave a more positive impression. Overall though—it was an enjoyable stay! We’d love to visit again during a season when there are fewer insects around!

    Hotel I want to stay at again

    I found a hotel that made me want to stay again after a long time. This time, I stayed in a room with an open-air bath to celebrate my birthday. I was very happy that I could see the ocean from the open-air bath. Additionally, everything from the front desk and premium lounge to the restrooms and dining area was clean and well-maintained. Next time, I would like to plan a multiple night stay, but there were a few concerns: First, the room key was difficult to turn and hard to lock properly. While it worked right after check-in, by nighttime it became unresponsive. This caused inconvenience as my husband and I had to take turns going to the large public bath. Second, the water pressure in the room's shower was weak, which felt slightly unsatisfactory. Third, during dinner service, staff communicated via intercoms about meal orders or timing which we overheard at our table; this made us feel rushed while eating as if we needed hurry up finishing meals quickly despite wanting relaxed pace especially enjoying alcohol drinks leisurely longer instead. Despite these points mentioned above overall experience positive thanks warm hospitality shown by all staff members!

    60th Birthday Celebration

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. The staff were extremely kind, and we truly appreciated their thoughtfulness. They shared information about her health condition from the front desk to the on-site staff and took great care of us. It is a wonderful hotel that makes us want to visit again in the future.

    It was a very nice accommodation. While it is understandable that there are many foreign staff nowadays, I believe they were well-trained. The service provided by the Japanese staff was particularly excellent. The meals were delicious, and the lounge and other services were also great. If I had to point out something, although it can't be helped, the pathway leading to the open-air bath was quite long and had many flying insects, which made me hesitant to walk through naked; in the end, I decided not to use the open-air bath. My family was also very satisfied, so we would love to stay here again!
