    This was my second stay, but I felt that the quality of the dinner buffet had declined compared to my previous visit (about three years ago). Overall, the quality of the ingredients seemed to have dropped; the fish lacked flavor, and the sashimi (tuna and sea bream) had an unpleasant smell. On the other hand, I was very satisfied with the hotel bread at breakfast, which was delicious. The Hotel itself, Room, and Onsen were excellent as always, so it is truly disappointing. I understand that maintaining quality can be challenging given rising labor costs and inflation; however, meal satisfaction greatly impacts overall travel satisfaction. I hope this feedback will be helpful for future improvements.

    You can enjoy the Ryujin Festival fireworks display from the Room.

    We visit twice a year. While Yokohama experienced extreme heat over 35°C, the area around Lake Ashi was a pleasant 25°C. There was an unusual odor in the Room, which surprised us at first, but we got used to it by the next day and it was fine. The meals have improved significantly, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. We enjoyed watching the Ryujin Festival fireworks from the balcony of our Room. My wife expressed her wish to stay here again for her birthday, so we look forward to visiting again.

    The timing of my stay was great!

    This was my first time staying here. I had read reviews mentioning that the buffet area could be crowded and noisy, but perhaps because it was before summer vacation, while it was busy, there were no issues enjoying our meals. The food was replenished promptly when it ran out, warm dishes were served warm, cold dishes were served cold, and everything tasted delicious. Alcoholic beverages were free as well and offered a wide variety. My husband, who loves beer, was especially surprised to find even premium beers included for free. Our room was at the far end of the building, so it took a bit of time to get to the restaurant or large public bath; however, since we didn’t have to walk outside, this wasn’t an issue either. The large public bath had spacious indoor and outdoor baths with plenty of washing stations available—it was excellent! I would definitely like to stay here again.

    The meals are excellent and delicious, making it likely to become a repeat guest.

    We decided to take a drive to Lake Ashi this time as Yumoto was too crowded. Since it was the 31st, the day of the fireworks, we chose a Hotel near the pirate ship dock, and it turned out to be an amazing Hotel. Although there were many foreign guests and we didn’t have high expectations, both the meals and desserts were plentiful with a variety of dishes served in small portions that left us full. Drinks were all-you-can-drink. The Onsen was spacious, and the Room was clean. The private open-air bath in our Room was also excellent. We plan to visit again with friends next time!

    Excellent meals! Post-bath experience could be better!

    The meals, which I had checked online beforehand, were truly delicious with a great variety of dishes and drinks. However, one disappointment was that I couldn't buy milk after bathing because the vending machine only accepted cash. Other guests who came to check the vending machine had the same reaction. Interestingly, other vending machines in the hallway accept PayPay and similar payment methods, so I assumed it would be fine if I brought my phone. I really wanted to enjoy some milk after bathing! This is my honest feedback.

    The Room is new, clean, and well-maintained. Meals are buffet-style with high quality and delicious options. A wide variety of alcoholic beverages is available as free drinks. The mountain breeze in the open-air bath was refreshing. Both guests and staff include a high percentage of international individuals.

    It's a popular Hotel.

    I stayed at this Hotel conveniently located near Lake Ashi. It seems to be popular not only among families but also with many international guests, which is a testament to its appeal. The staff appeared relatively young, but their service was satisfactory. The view overlooking Lake Ashi is absolutely stunning. Meals are served in a buffet style for both breakfast and dinner, with some creative touches in the menu. The inclusion of alcoholic beverages in the drink selection brought a smile to my face. I had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Thank you very much!

    Third bed

    The child's bed was a sofa bed. In the evening, a foreign staff member came empty-handed to set it up and quickly pulled out the comforter and sheets from a small gap under the sofa bed, spread them out hastily, and left. After that, I couldn't stop sneezing until the next day. Everything else was fine though.

    A Gift for Parents

    We stayed at this hotel for one night as a gift to celebrate our parents' retirement and birthdays. The room was in the farthest building, so it was quite a walk from the front desk, and we got a bit lost at first—quite amusing! The highlight of the hotel experience was definitely the meals. Both breakfast and dinner were buffets, and everything tasted amazing! Even my mother, who rarely comments on food, said everything was delicious! Dinner reservations were made via mobile phone. Since we had a large group, our preferred time slot wasn’t available, and we could only reserve during the last time slot. This was unfortunate as my parents are not very young anymore... However, the staff in charge of dining were incredibly attentive and thoughtful. We even felt apologetic because they went out of their way to accommodate us so kindly. They rearranged our initially separate seats so that we could all sit together in the end—it made for such a satisfying evening with everyone dining together. Thank you very much for your hospitality! This has become a hotel we'd love to visit again.

    A perfect accommodation with no flaws

    A long-awaited stay at this accommodation. We visited on the final day of the July holiday weekend, which was likely fully booked. The weather in Hakone was a pleasant 26°C with clear skies. Check-in was handled by multilingual staff, many of whom appeared to be foreign nationals. The bright, glass-walled lobby was bustling with guests of all ages and nationalities—families, couples, and more—coinciding with the arrival of the 3 PM shuttle service. Despite the crowd, it didn’t feel overly packed as everyone enjoyed self-serve welcome drinks (tea or coffee) or took photos by the water feature offering a great view of pirate ships passing through Togendai. The facility consists of three buildings connected by uncovered walkways. While we were fortunate to have no rain during our stay, these walkways also serve as excellent photo spots. Our room faced Lake Ashi and accommodated four people in a standard room setup: two beds plus a sofa bed and futon prepared by staff around 5:30 PM. Though not spacious, it felt clean and well-equipped with amenities like yukata robes and bath baskets. The baths included three indoor options and two open-air ones (similar layouts for men’s and women’s areas). There were plenty of washing stations separated by partitions on both sides to ensure privacy. We never experienced overcrowding in either washing areas or bathtubs; instead, we relaxed peacefully while listening to cicadas chirping. The changing rooms featured lockers, shoe racks, sinks with ample facilities for comfort. Amenities such as towels and yukata belts (brought from your room) were provided at the large communal bath area along with cold tea service near massage chairs outside—a thoughtful touch! Meals offered an extensive selection including Japanese-Western-Chinese dishes alongside desserts plus unlimited alcoholic beverages—all delicious! Highlights included tender lamb chops & signature curry dishes that stood out exceptionally well among other offerings served within their efficient yet attentive dining system operating under timed sessions lasting approximately ninety minutes per seating period managed via QR code-based dinner reservations made upon check-in itself ensuring smooth scheduling flexibility depending preferences accordingly beforehand ideally earlier better chances securing desired slots availability-wise respectively overall satisfaction guaranteed undoubtedly throughout entire experience altogether     We stayed with our baby, and it was such a kind and thoughtful accommodation! Even before completing the reservation, during the phone inquiry, they suggested "rooms and services recommended for families with babies," which gave us peace of mind from the start. They also pushed the twin beds together to prevent our baby from falling, which reduced small worries and was very helpful! The room had a baby bath and a diaper disposal bin, which was incredibly convenient for traveling with a baby who tends to require lots of luggage. Additionally, having baby food available at the buffet dining area was another delightful point! We could enjoy meals at our usual pace, allowing even our 6-month-old to join in on mealtime fun. All staff members were friendly and warmly interacted with our baby, creating such a welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay. The food was delicious, the onsen was relaxing, and we would love to stay at this accommodation again!

    I stayed alone.

    I stayed alone. The Room was clean, and the bath and relaxation facilities were excellent. The food selection wasn't extensive, but each dish was delicious and very satisfying. However, the Room was quite far from the bath and restaurant, which felt a bit inconvenient. I understand this might be due to the building's structure. The staff's service was polite and efficient, so I would love to stay again.

    Comfortable and cost-effective accommodation

    We revisited, drawn by the comfortable Room with a view of Lake Ashi. During our previous visit in July, the guest demographics seemed quite different. This time, there appeared to be fewer couples and inbound guests, and more families with small children. A pleasant change was that drinks, including alcohol, were free during dinner. The meals were incredibly delicious, making it feel almost too good for the price we paid. Thanks to Hanawori, we had another wonderful trip!

    The meals were all incredibly delicious. During my previous visit, I don't recall it being a buffet, but I enjoyed the free-flow alcohol options. I was surprised but delighted to find that even beer was available as a free drink in the morning. The cleanliness of the facility was impeccable, making for a very pleasant stay. I stayed for two nights, and while the dinner menu remained the same both evenings, it would have been nice if at least the main meat dish had varied slightly. It was a bit disappointing that the sauna in the women's bath was only available in the morning... But I will definitely come back again!

    I had a relaxing time.

    My daughter invited me to celebrate my birthday. Although the distance from the guest room to the main building was a bit far, I was very satisfied with the bath and meals. The amenities were also well-prepared. I would love to visit again. However, when we arrived by car, a staff member offered to take our luggage while we parked the car. Upon returning, that staff member was nowhere to be found, and I had no idea where my luggage went. After completing self-check-in near the entrance of the building, I searched around and eventually found my luggage left on a sofa in the lobby. The lobby was crowded with many international guests at that time, which made me uneasy as my bag without a lock had been left unattended in such an environment. In addition, at the large public bath area, some international guests unfamiliar with customs entered wearing shoes or brought earphones and smartphones into the bathing area. It would be helpful if instructions on how to use Japanese baths could be provided for overseas visitors.

    First Hakone Trip for Visitors in Their 60s from Osaka

    I had always wanted to visit Hakone after seeing it on travel shows, and my dream finally came true. I visited places like Owakudani via cable car. The location of Hanaori is incredibly convenient. From the moment I entered the hotel, everything was wonderful and truly impressive. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with all-inclusive alcohol options, and the staff provided excellent service. It became an accommodation I want to visit again as soon as I returned home. Next time, I hope to visit with my children and grandchildren. Thank you very much!

    Satisfied.

    This was my second visit, and I was very satisfied with the staff's service and hospitality. The meals, room, and bath were excellent, and even the family member I brought along was happy and satisfied. The Shuttle Service from Odawara was also a great help amidst crowded public transportation. I would love to visit again.

    I visited for the first time with a friend. Check-in was smooth, and thanks to the staff's detailed explanation, we found our room without any trouble. Both the public bath and the room were clean. We thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast.     First Time in Hakone

    My first visit to Hakone and stay at "Hanaori" was truly wonderful! I am extremely satisfied. The dinner and breakfast buffet were incredibly delightful, filled with my favorite dishes! I enjoyed the room with an open-air bath to the fullest.

    It was a wonderful Hotel stay.

    Direct shuttle service from Odawara to the hotel. The hotel is bright, stylish, and the staff were very kind. Meals are served in a buffet style, with a wide variety of delicious options for both dinner and breakfast. While waiting for the return bus, I was able to relax in the lobby. I look forward to staying here again in the future. Thank you!

    The inbound tourism was overwhelming...

    The foreign guests were impressive. Perhaps it felt overwhelming because we stayed here after visiting Atami Kairaku. The Hotel was clean, and many of the staff were from overseas, but the service was excellent. The young women serving at the restaurant were especially efficient and made the experience stress-free. However, I was surprised by how many international guests there were. The water feature at the entrance was occupied by one group for a long time, so we couldn’t take any photos. Additionally, there were too many people during meals; even the hamburger I had been looking forward to was served cold. While I appreciate the inbound tourism effect, I hope to visit again during a quieter season.

    First Trip to Hakone

    It was my first trip to Hakone. I had a hard time deciding on a Hotel, but I happened to see Hanori on TV. The Room was clean and comfortable, making my stay pleasant. However, it was quite inconvenient to get from the Room to the restaurant or large public bath as it required going up and down elevators and walking long distances. It was a bit tiring! What bothered me the most, though, was during breakfast and dinner when staff would come to clear plates even before I finished eating. While I understand there is a 90-minute time limit, it felt disappointing that they were so eager to take away dishes despite us adhering to the allotted time.

    Although the weather was unfortunate, I had a comfortable stay at the clean Hotel. A minor point, but the shower pressure was a bit too strong, which was slightly inconvenient.

    Unfortunately.

    As with the previous stay, despite being a Room on the Lake Ashi side, it was on the second floor and mostly blocked by trees, making it difficult to see the lake. The meals have become more delicious compared to before, and the service from the staff is excellent, which makes it all the more disappointing.

    Great value for money!

    The meals and baths were excellent. I stayed in a Room with a private bath but also enjoyed the large public bath and private baths. However, there were only two private baths despite the scale of the facility, so it felt limited as I couldn't use them at my preferred time. Given the current times, it might be difficult, but as a smoker, I would appreciate having at least one smoking area per floor.

    The service was very pleasant. Although there were many foreign staff, their greetings and customer service were excellent. However, some spoke too quickly, making it hard to understand at times, but their effort was evident. The Room was clean and comfortable. I had a very pleasant stay. However, due to the structure of the Hotel, perhaps it couldn't be helped that the bath was far from my Room... Since I brought my elderly mother along, we could only visit the bath once. During check-in, there was no explanation about emergencies, so I checked the map myself. I also saw people getting lost in the elevator area; as someone with a poor sense of direction, it was challenging for me as well. Other than that, everything else made for a very pleasant stay. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
