    A Relaxing Accommodation Surrounded by Nature

    The accommodation is located about a 10-minute drive from Yugawara Station, surrounded by nature. It was surprising to see baby wild boars along the road. The room is functional and comfortable, with thorough cleaning. The private open-air bath in the room is spacious and relaxing. The view from the window is stunning, and the facilities are excellent, though the table was slightly small. Complimentary drinks after using the large public bath are a delightful touch. The staff's attentive service made for a very pleasant stay.

    I was very satisfied.

    We stayed as a family and had a wonderful experience. The overall atmosphere was great, and the staff provided exceptionally pleasant service. The Room was fantastic, with breathtaking views from the window and stunning mountain scenery from the terrace. Even the view while soaking in the private bath was incredibly relaxing. The meals were satisfying in quantity and beautifully presented dishes were served. Not only were they delicious, but enjoying such an extraordinary experience made for a truly delightful time.     A tranquil accommodation for adults.

    We stayed in the semi-suite "Hagi." The reason we chose this room was because there is a large cherry blossom tree right in front of the private open-air bath, and we wanted to enjoy a hanami bath. Although it rained the day before and made us anxious, on the day of our stay, while it wasn't completely sunny, the rain had stopped, and patches of sunlight broke through the cloudy sky. We were able to enjoy the hanami bath as expected. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Many staff members appeared to be non-Japanese; however, they were fluent in Japanese and communication posed no issues. As for the food, it leaned towards being quite lightly seasoned. My spouse and I enjoyed it very much; however, younger guests might find it slightly lacking in flavor. Overall, this ryokan offers a relaxing and pleasant experience where you can spend your time at ease.

    Satisfied with the thoughtful accommodation

    We stayed here for my sister's 60th birthday celebration trip. The room was very lovely, and we were able to relax. We chose a course with fewer dishes for the meal, but it was more than enough considering our age. Every dish highlighted the natural flavors of the ingredients and was beautifully presented. I had informed them about my sister's 60th birthday in advance, and they surprised us by lending a special celebratory red vest set for her. We enjoyed taking commemorative photos in the room with it. Additionally, I was impressed by the Mikimoto skincare products and shampoos provided in the room and bath area. I also experienced the relaxation spa as an optional service, which was amazing. I would love to use it as part of my stay again!

    We had an extraordinary experience.

    A gift of an Onsen trip for my mother's birthday. We stayed at Ashikari and were well taken care of. The room was bright, just like in the photos, and meticulously maintained. It was literally spotless and very clean. We enjoyed a relaxing in-room dining experience with delicate dishes. The staff who prepared our meals left a lasting impression by gently knocking each time they brought food to avoid disturbing us during our meal. The food was so delicious that it made me look forward to visiting again in a different season to see what other dishes might be offered. Most of the staff were young, giving off a refreshing impression. This allowed us to enjoy our stay without feeling overly self-conscious or formal. Although navigating stairs was slightly challenging due to some mobility issues, the accommodation left such a positive impression that I would love to visit again.     Thank you for your patronage.

    I thought it might be too cold for cherry blossoms in March, but thanks to the unseasonably warm weather during the week of my stay, I was able to enjoy cherry blossoms in 50-70% bloom. I was kindly upgraded to a room called "Takama," where I could relax in a bright and spacious room. The bathroom in the room was large enough for two people, and I enjoyed soaking in my favorite Yugawara hot spring water while listening to birdsong. ○ Highlights: - The response when I called beforehand was very polite (this alone raised my expectations for the accommodation!). - All staff members had wonderful smiles, and even foreign guests were given thorough explanations with great effort, which left a positive impression. - We were able to choose a smaller meal course, so we didn’t feel overly full after dinner. Both dinner and breakfast were truly delicious! - During meals, families with children and adults-only groups were seated in separate rooms, allowing everyone to enjoy their meals without concern for others. - Drinks from the refrigerator were free of charge; there were also capsule coffee machines, tea bags with black tea options, mini beers near the public bath exit area as well as juice cartons or Yakult (which personally made me very happy), plus small ice cream treats—there was an abundance of drink options available! - Perhaps because our room had been renovated two years ago? There seemed plenty of power outlets & USB ports around; additionally having full-length mirrors placed conveniently at two spots proved useful too! -The accommodation appeared quite busy yet remained remarkably quiet throughout our stay. ○ Slightly Disappointing Points: - The pick-up car did not arrive at its designated time (for accommodations at this level one might expect arrivals five minutes earlier than scheduled—but if delays stemmed due station rotary issues apologies are extended). - Considering how many towels provided overall perhaps adding some within restroom areas inside rooms would enhance convenience further? - Whether due low battery levels affecting washlet functionality—or outright malfunction—it stopped working unexpectedly three times across two days causing brief panic moments before resolving manually pressing buttons repeatedly until fixed temporarily again(!) Though understandably difficult detecting such issues during cleaning routines likely just bad luck encountered here instead. Despite these notes above overall experience staying here felt genuinely wonderful hence look forward returning someday soon hopefully again soon enough!! Many thanks sincerely extended towards all hardworking staff involved making visit memorable!!

    The cuisine was exce...

    The cuisine was excellent. The dinner, especially the filet steak and its accompaniments, was particularly delicious. The rice was very tasty, and breakfast also made me want to keep eating. Additionally, I requested accommodations for various dietary restrictions, and I have never experienced an accommodation that responded so proactively. It felt like the chef's dedication came through in every dish, allowing me to enjoy the meals in a great mood throughout. The room was new, clean, and comfortable. The balcony with a private bath was spacious and offered a great view. The shuttle service was much appreciated. It was especially helpful that we could specify the return time. I also had to make a request via phone to the front desk during my stay; they came to my room so quickly that I was amazed. I felt their spirit of hospitality truly shone through in every aspect of their service.

    I wanted to stay soaking in the Room's bath forever.

    The day we stayed at Ashikari was blessed with perfect weather, and we spent the entire day soaking in the open-air bath in our room. Recently, we've been traveling to the Izu area quite often, and upon discovering Ashikari, we immediately made a reservation through IKYU. We stayed in a room called "Katsuragi," which offers a stunning view of Hakone's mountains right in front of you. This year, it seems that the cherry blossoms bloomed later than usual, so unfortunately, there were no blossoms visible from our room. However, the view through the large glass windows was absolutely breathtaking. During our stay, except for mealtimes, we spent most of our time relaxing in the room and enjoying baths to our heart's content. Thanks to IKYU Diamond Member benefits, we were able to enjoy late check-out as well and had a rare opportunity to spend quality time together as a couple. Being originally from Kanagawa Prefecture ourselves, we rarely travel within Kanagawa; however, we never knew there was such a quiet and relaxing accommodation nearby until now! If given another chance someday, we'd love to stay here again. The staff treated us with kindness and warm hospitality throughout our stay—it truly left us feeling touched by their care.     An accommodation you'll want to stay at regularly

    Recently, I have been enjoying the Plan that includes both abalone and spiny lobster, so I booked the same Plan this time. The Room is "Ouka," where I also stayed in July last year. In March last year, I stayed in the neighboring Room "Hagi," but unfortunately, the cherry blossoms were not in full bloom this time either. Still, the breathtaking view was more than enough to enjoy. When I stayed in March last year, the temperature of the private open-air bath was slightly lukewarm and adjusting it to a comfortable level each time was challenging. However, it had improved this time, so aside from using the public bath right after check-in, I enjoyed multiple relaxing moments in my private open-air bath. What made me happiest during this stay was that there were more varieties of champagne available. Including these improvements, this Accommodation makes me want to return regularly!

    It was an accommodation that brought great satisfaction.

    Our 10-month-old baby's first Onsen experience was shared with our son's family and grandparents, staying in two rooms. As an accommodation that welcomes babies, the service was impeccable. The spacious room allowed our grandchild to crawl around freely. The meals for adults were visually and tastefully exceptional, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The thoughtful preparation of baby food also deeply impressed us. Although we initially thought it was an old accommodation, everything was polished to perfection, leaving no sense of age at all. The Onsen was delightful as well; we look forward to visiting again!

    The private open-air bath in the guest room is comfortable.

    The private open-air bath in the Room was spacious and comfortable. The frequent flow of water and temperature adjustments were great (though the operational noise during sleep was a bit distracting). The Room itself was spacious and comfortable, but it was unfortunate that the interior could be seen immediately upon opening the entrance door. A partition or additional door would be a nice improvement. For dinner, I chose a smaller portion Plan, which offered an enjoyable variety without being too much—very satisfying overall.

    It was a wonderful stay.

    It was our first family trip in a while, and we were deeply impressed by the warm hospitality of the staff and the meticulous service from the moment we arrived. The Room, open-air bath, and meals exceeded all our expectations.     The room lighting is wonderful!

    Positive Points ● The numerous lights in the room were impressive, creating a unique and special atmosphere. ● Yakult, juice in paper packs, beer, and bite-sized ice cream were provided as post-onsen treats, which were perfect after enjoying the onsen. ● Skincare products and shampoo from MIKIMOTO were provided, which was great. Having a hair iron available in the room was also a nice touch. ● The meals had a gentle flavor that allowed us to fully enjoy the natural taste of the ingredients. ● The staff always greeted us warmly, making our stay very comfortable. Slightly Disappointing Points ● The stains on the sofa in the room caught my attention. ● The public bath was slightly small, so it felt crowded during busy times and wasn’t as relaxing as I had hoped. Although I mentioned some disappointing points, it was still a wonderful accommodation that I would like to visit again. Next time, I’d love to stay in a different room than this time’s choice.     It was the best accommodation!

    Stayed at Awayuki. The clean and spacious room, along with the open-air bath, delighted the children. The public bath was a bit hot, but we enjoyed a refreshing break with a 135ml beer can! Dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and we especially appreciated the staff's attentiveness. It was a very child-friendly accommodation! Thank you so much!

    Baby-Friendly Accommodation

    We stayed here for our first trip with our 8-month-old son. From the moment we arrived, the staff warmly interacted with our son, which made us feel at ease. Since we chose the Baby Plan, the room was pre-equipped with a bed rail, diaper box, baby soap, and more. During our stay, they also assisted with bottle cleaning and warming up the baby food we brought along. The accommodation itself offered a stunning view from the lobby upon arrival, and the room was clean and beautifully maintained. The meals were all delicious and prepared with great care; I believe they are satisfying in portion size for women. This has become my favorite accommodation among all those I've stayed at so far. I will definitely visit again!

    We stayed for one ni...

    We stayed for one night in the Room "Sagami-ji" during our family trip. The weather was perfect, and it was such a lovely space that both my father and mother were delighted. The open-air bath was very relaxing, and the Doctor Air massage chair in the room was a big hit. My mother even started considering buying one for home (laughs). We also enjoyed using the large public bath. In the relaxation area, there were drinks like mini canned beer, strawberry milk, oolong tea, and small ice creams prepared in the fridge! It was wonderful. At night, we borrowed a Blu-ray movie disc from the lobby and watched it in our room while dozing off. The food was delicious, and the staff provided excellent service that made our stay very comfortable. We would love to visit again with our family. Thank you so much!

    The open-air guest room bath was excellent.

    We stayed at the property to celebrate our marriage registration. We loved the open-air bath with its sense of spaciousness. The temperature was just right, and at night, we soaked for about an hour like a footbath while gazing at the stars. We were a bit surprised that there was no door in the shower room, but it was refreshing and interesting. We definitely want to stay again.

    Overall, very satisfied.

    The Room, bath, and staff service were all very satisfactory! However, there were two minor points that caught my attention, and I hope you find them helpful. This time, we had in-Room dining, but when the meals were brought in, the Room door remained open, making the entire living area visible from outside. There was something like a noren (curtain) that could be hung up for privacy; it would be more relaxing if some kind of screen could be used. Another point is that we stayed with an infant this time; it would be helpful if items for infants provided as amenities could be detailed more on the website so we can reduce what we need to bring. That's all! I hope to visit again if there's another opportunity! Thank you very much!

    I was very satisfied from the initial welcome to the final farewell. Due to structural issues of the building, it might be desirable to have an elevator installed as lower floors can be dangerous for elderly guests. I also noticed that it was cold inside the facility. Other than that, I am satisfied!

    I stayed at the Property in Hagi. The Room was very clean, spacious, and nice. The meals were also delicious. As mentioned in the Reviews, there were many foreign staff members, but they were all nice people and it became a very enjoyable and memorable experience. There were many people who wrote negatively about the foreign staff in the Reviews, which made me a bit anxious, but I realized those people must have been narrow-minded. It was a very pleasant stay. I would like to use it again.

    A reward property that you can visit even with small children.

    This was our second stay. The first time was for my son's first birthday, and this time we stayed for our wedding anniversary. With a small child, we were hesitant about buffets and large public baths, but since this property offers in-room dining and rooms with open-air baths, it is truly relaxing. The room is separated from other guest rooms so there is no need to worry about noise, and the room is spacious enough that even without a partition between the bed and living area, you can relax after your child goes to sleep without any concerns. As it is registered as a "Welcome Baby" property, all the amenities you could want are available, and there are plenty of meal options as well. Additionally, when we requested toys this time around they brought toys that seemed appealing based on our order preferences with thoughtful consideration saying "Feel free to ask for new ones if they get bored." Their sense was excellent resulting in continuous play until checkout without getting bored at all! Usually concerned about drinking alcohol due to having children around; however here there's an extensive selection allowing us leisurely enjoy beer wine sake among others slowly savoring them one by one! Furthermore surprised by finding beer & Anpanman juice (for kids) at post-bath free drink corner - everything catered perfectly beyond expectations! All staff members were kind making us look forward eagerly towards next visit again soon too!

    I want to visit again!

    The service provided by the staff was very warm and heartfelt, making it a very pleasant experience! Additionally, the Room was bright and spacious with plenty of natural light, and the private open-air bath in the Room was large and well-equipped with a chair, which was excellent. We also enjoyed various ingredients with pleasant service and drinks during our meals. When leaving, we were given a ride to the park we wanted to visit and were even recommended some great shops. Everything about this Property was top-notch! I definitely want to visit this Property again.

    Very disappointed with the restless dinner.

    The room was sophisticated and lovely, just like the photos. We had breakfast and dinner at the dining area. In the cozy dining area, besides us as a couple, there were two families with babies. During dinner, naturally, the babies screamed and cried, making it feel like a family-oriented property's dining venue. The parents of the babies kindly apologized to us for the noise, but there was no word from the staff. Is there no consideration to separate families with young children from other guests? It was extremely disappointing and unacceptable treatment for a luxury property where we hoped to spend our time leisurely.

    This is my fifth time, and the newly built room with an open-air bath was spacious, and the Onsen was excellent. The dinner also had a smaller portion suitable for seniors, which was sufficient. Furthermore, the breakfast content ranked among the top 3 in the whole country. I will use it again.

    A wonderful property that welcomes babies

    We stayed at the property for a trip with our 0-year-old child. We were grateful to borrow baby supplies. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The open-air onsen was also excellent. Of course, the meals were visually beautiful and very delicious. Above all, we appreciated the warm hospitality of the staff. Thanks to them, both my child and I were able to relax during our stay. We would love to use it again in the future. This property is recommended for those who want to enjoy onsen and meals with babies or small children.

    Both the meals and service were exceptional. We traveled with a toddler, and the foreign staff member was incredibly kind and accommodating. The sparkling wine recommended during dinner was a big hit with the whole family. The sake was also delicious. Both dinner and breakfast were impressive in terms of quality and quantity.

    I had a great time.

    It was a girls' trip with kids, and we were very satisfied with the meals and onsen. The room was spacious, and even with 5 people including children, it was comfortable. Since it’s a kaiseki-style ryokan, I thought the kids might not eat much, but they served dishes that children liked, which made us happy. Some reviews mentioned issues with customer service, but everyone was very kind and pleasant. One concern is that the large open-air bath didn’t feel very "open-air" and was a bit small. It might be nice to have time slots for private use when visiting as a family.

    Relaxing Solo Trip

    "I was looking for a place where I could enjoy an Onsen in a snow-free area, close to the city, and relax—and I found it here. The Shuttle Service from the station made it so convenient. Above all, the Room and its attached open-air bath were absolutely amazing! The dinner was luxurious as well. It was such a wonderful experience. Staying in a Japanese-Western style room allowed me to relax on tatami mats, which was delightful. So, I've decided to bring my mother next month for another visit! Looking forward to your hospitality again!"
