    From check-in, we had a very positive impression, and the rest of the staff were equally wonderful. The dining staff were all from overseas, but they served us with smiles and great dedication, and it was clear they are well trained. The food was delicately seasoned and served at just the right time to enjoy it at its best, and at breakfast we appreciated the thoughtful touch of having warm tableware. The bath was also spacious and very relaxing. We visited in midsummer this time, so we would love to return in a different season.

  • Welcoming you with our best smiles

    The front desk staff provided courteous service with a wonderful smile.All the other staff were also friendly and welcoming.I was surprised to learn that the bath in the Room has Onsen water!This time I booked with breakfast included, and I was truly impressed by how delicious the steamed rice was. I wished I could have had it as tamago kake gohan (rice with raw egg). Next time, I’d like to try dinner as well.

Notice from the Accommodation

  • [Notice Regarding Future Operations Due to Suspension of Onsen Water Supply]

    Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Yama no Takodaira Ryokan.
    Due to torrential rain on August 8, a landslide occurred on the Nakabusa Prefectural Road, washing away both a bridge and the hot spring pipeline. As a result, our Onsen supply has been suspended.
    Our Accommodation purchases natural hot spring water drawn from the Northern Alps foothills and the Nakabusa Valley through the Onsen Public Corporation; however, due to this disruption, we will operate with the measures below until service is restored.

    We sincerely regret to inform you that the water in our large public bath, open-air bath, and in-room baths will be changed to heated water (groundwater diluted and warmed).
    For this heated water, we will use natural Azumino water pumped from 120 meters underground.
    Bathing facilities will remain available as usual. Day-use bathing will also continue using heated water.

    In addition, due to the suspension of our Onsen supply, we will not charge overnight guests the Hot Spring Tax that is normally collected.
    *If you have prepaid the Hot Spring Tax under certain Plans, we will refund JPY 150 per adult at check-in.
