1 Day 8 Groups Limited - Taiza Crab and Local Fish Cuisine - Adult's Scenic Hidden Inn Jukaitei

Kyoto Prefecture/Tangocho Taiza, Kyotango City

An adults-only Accommodation in the fishing town of Taiza, Tango, offering panoramic views of the Sea of Japan from every room.

Jukaitei is a small Accommodation limited to 8 groups per day, perched on a hill in Taiza, a fishing town in Tango. Watch the large sun quietly and slowly sink beyond the long, endless horizon. Enjoy a luxurious moment with someone special as the scenery of the Sea of Japan changes from one moment to the next. While we are not a luxury Ryokan, we invite you to relax and enjoy our carefully seasoned cuisine and warm hospitality—made possible only by a small fishing-town Accommodation—and the nostalgic charm of rural Japan.

  • I chose this Accommodation because I wanted to relax while watching the sunset on the Tango Peninsula. Since I wanted to see the sunset at Kotobikihama Beach, we decided to go to a nearby local restaurant for dinner. The view from the Room window was amazing, and I was truly impressed by the design that carries that view all the way into the bathroom. I was also happy to find a variety of drinks and snacks in the Room, and the amenities were high quality, which really lifted my spirits. The breakfast venue also has partitions, so it feels spacious and relaxing. The small side dishes had such gentle flavors and were very comforting. The after-meal sweets and carefully selected cup-brewed coffee were also delicious. Next time, I’d like to book with dinner included and visit again!!

  • It was a small, cozy Accommodation with a warm, homey atmosphere. We were served by staff from Myanmar, and everyone was smiling and very pleasant.A parfait was served at breakfast, which surprised us, but it was delicious. This trip was to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday, and we were truly touched that you wrote a congratulatory message on the dessert plate and also took photos for us.Thank you very much.

We hope you enjoy the freshest catch.

Taiza, Tango Town—home to Jukaitei—is a traditional fishing village. A wide variety of fish, carefully brought back to Taiza Fishing Port by small boats, is sold at auction. We hope you will savor truly delicious, freshly caught seafood while reflecting on the rich waters of Taiza that nurture it and the hard work of the fishermen. From sashimi to simmered and grilled fish, we focus on simple seasonings that bring out the natural flavors of each ingredient, and serve every dish prepared in its most delicious way.

[King of Winter Delicacies] Savor the Legendary Taiza Crab!

    ■■■【What Is Taiza Crab?】■■■
Taiza Crab is also known as the “phantom crab.”
It is called the “phantom crab” because it is landed on day trips by small local ports and fishing boats, meaning exceptional freshness. Its sweetness and firm texture are simply incomparable to other crabs.
In recent years, catches have become even smaller and prices have continued to rise, making it increasingly rare—hence the name “phantom crab.”
It has been featured many times in magazines and on television as the “phantom crab.”
The fishing season runs from November 6 (opening day) to March 20, making it a true delicacy available only for a limited time each year.
With the hope that our guests at Jukaitei can enjoy this precious Taiza Crab, we carefully purchase it at auction and prepare it with care.

If you love crab, we invite you to try Taiza Crab at least once.

    * Our crab Plan is available for a limited winter season only, from around November 10 until the end of March of the following year.
    * In the unlikely event that rough seas prevent fishing and Taiza Crab cannot be secured, we will substitute another tagged crab.

  • Fresh local fish sashimi from Taiza Fishing Port.

[Seasonal Local Fish Cuisine] Freshly Landed “Local Fish Dishes” from Taiza Fishing Port

■■■[Fresh Local Fish Dishes Landed at Taiza Fishing Port]■■■
With nearly 30 years of experience as a broker at Taiza Port, the owner attends the daily auctions to purchase fresh local fish from Taiza.
Using an expert eye refined over many years, he selects the best seasonal catch and bids on it himself.
The fish bought at auction is served on our guests’ tables that very day.

“We want you to taste truly fresh catch.”
That’s why we are uncompromising about our ingredients.
Another appeal of Jukaitei is that we can also serve seafood caught by free-diving—unlike net-caught seafood, it is undamaged and of assured quality.

  • 【Tajima Gen】Known as the "legendary cow" Tajima Gen

[Tajima Gen] The Finest Wagyu That Melts in Your Mouth Instantly

    ■■■【What is Tajimaguro?】■■■
A top-grade wagyu that melts the moment it touches your tongue.

Raised at Ueda Livestock Farm in Muraoka, Kami Town, Hyogo (the only farm that produces “Tajimaguro”), this exceptional Tajima beef is shipped in limited numbers—only about 10 head per month. It is fed a special diet that results in fat with an unusually low melting point; this beef is known as “Tajimaguro.”

While the fat of typical Japanese Black wagyu begins to melt at around 25°C, Tajimaguro starts melting at about 12°C. Because it melts at such a low temperature, the fat feels light and clean—similar to tuna belly fat—melting instantly like otoro and then giving way to rich umami and a gentle sweetness.

Drawing on years of experience and research, Ueda Livestock Farm provides attentive care along with high-quality feed and a well-managed environment, prioritizing the cattle’s health above all while also practicing environmentally considerate husbandry.

Ueda Livestock Farm’s original Sesame Health Feed contains many essential amino acids that cattle cannot produce on their own. Cattle raised on this feed develop fat rich in unsaturated fatty acids as well as omega-3 fatty acids, which are often said to be absent from beef.
Component analysis has also confirmed Tajimaguro’s notably low melting point and its higher levels of oleic acid (an umami-related component) and linoleic acid (an essential fatty acid) compared with others.
