A tranquil hideaway in the heart of Misasa Onsen, featuring an open-air bath

Enjoy Misasa’s hot springs—renowned for over 850 years—in complete privacy in your Room’s open-air bath. With high ceilings and a spacious living area, this airy retreat promises deep relaxation that lets you lose track of time. Savor exceptional seasonal flavors from the San’in region and indulge in a special stay away from everyday life. After enjoying the bath in your Room, take a short trip to “Hanareyu Ujo” or “Hanareyu Yakumo” to experience hot springs with a different atmosphere.

  • This time we stayed in the annex “Hisui.” As it is still quite new, the moment we entered the Room we noticed a gentle scent of wood, creating a wonderfully pleasant atmosphere. The interior was spacious and spotless, and the in-room open-air bath and massage chair made the amenities especially well equipped. We were comfortable throughout our stay. The calm ambiance unique to the annex was also very soothing, allowing us to enjoy a quiet and luxurious time. The Onsen here was truly outstanding. We had been looking forward to Japan’s renowned radium Onsen, and it exceeded our expectations. In addition to the in-room open-air bath, there are also hand-carved baths in the main building’s basement—such as “Iwa no Oto” and “Ujo”—each with its own distinct character, making them so enjoyable that we wanted to return again and again.Above all, the food was excellent. Each dish showed thoughtful creativity—not only delicious, but also conveying the chef’s passion and dedication. Dinner was extremely satisfying. Breakfast was also good, though we felt that one more touch of ingenuity could make it even more satisfying. At dinner, we enjoyed Hojo Wine “STANDARD,” which we were told is from the only winery near the Tottori Sand Dunes area. Being able to taste local wine is one of the pleasures of traveling. We savored it slowly with our meal, and it became a memorable glass that felt uniquely Tottori. The staff were wonderful as well; starting with the head concierge, everyone provided courteous service with genuine warmth. Their attentiveness made our stay truly pleasant. One small drawback was that there was no full-length mirror in the Room, and there wasn’t a chair or magnifying mirror at the vanity for applying makeup. Especially for women, having these would make staying here even more comfortable. On the other hand, we were very happy to have a massage chair in our Room—it helped relieve travel fatigue. We were also impressed by “Misasa Yogurt,” which we stopped by while strolling around town.【Early summer only】The seasonal melon yogurt (Tottori-grown Perle melon) and drinkable yogurt were both delicious; it’s a shop I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Misasa Onsen. It was a wonderful stay that refreshed both body and mind. We are truly glad we chose this Accommodation as part of our trip after visiting Izumo Taisha Shrine again in gratitude. We would love to visit again in another season as well.
