About a 1-minute walk to "Hagoromo Pine." Relax in the scenic beauty of Miho no Matsubara.

【Established in 1907】Our establishment is a traditional Japanese Ryokan located in a corner of the World Heritage Site, Miho no Matsubara. "The Song of the Waves," "The Scent of Pines," and "The Mystique of Mount Fuji" resonate through the pine branches. In this land that conveys the legend of the celestial maiden's robe, we assist you in creating your own travel story and provide a memorable stay.

  • We stayed with my grandparents and uncle to celebrate my grandparents’ 90th birthday. They were delighted to receive a pair of matching chopsticks as a gift. During the meal, my grandfather accidentally bumped his hand while serving one dish and spilled everything, causing trouble; we were very grateful that it was kindly prepared again. Most of the staff were non-Japanese except for the proprietress. At times we weren’t sure if we were fully understood, but everyone was very kind and we had a comfortable stay.

  • A historic, Showa-era retro Accommodation where members of the imperial family, movie stars, politicians, athletes, and other notable guests once stayed. A Nepalese attendant provides heartfelt hospitality—more Japanese than Japanese—from welcome to dinner and breakfast service through to farewell. A two-room Room with a cypress bath and a beautifully maintained garden. Each dish is prepared with great care; the abalone and sakura shrimp sashimi in particular are as vibrant as they are delicious. The Hotel is located at Miho no Matsubara, and after breakfast we enjoyed a relaxed walk of about two hours to Hagoromo no Matsu, Kamagasaki, Kami no Michi, Miho Shrine, and Mihoshirube.

1-minute walk to the World Cultural Heritage: Miho no Matsubara.

If you ascend the slope in front of our facility, you will reach Miho no Matsubara. Passing through the pine forest, you will encounter the world of ukiyo-e, with Miho no Matsubara on your left and the majestic view of Mount Fuji and Miho Beach ahead. You can easily enjoy a walk from our facility to witness the changing scenery of Mount Fuji at Miho Beach during the morning and evening. Additionally, Miho no Matsubara features numerous power spots, such as the Hagoromo Pine, said to have held the celestial maiden's robe, and the divine path connecting Miho no Matsubara to Miho Shrine.

Miho no Matsubara

World Cultural Heritage Designation - Mount Fuji and Miho no Matsubara

In June 2013, Mount Fuji was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site under the name "Mount Fuji - Object of Worship and Source of Artistic Inspiration." Miho no Matsubara is also recognized as a component asset of this World Cultural Heritage. Along the approximately 7 km coastline, about 30,000 pine trees stand, and the view of Mount Fuji from the shore is truly worth seeing! The ancient pine tree "Hagoromo no Matsu," the setting of the Hagoromo legend, is just a one-minute walk from our facility.
