Limited to 5 groups per day, an accommodation by Lake Shikotsu with jet baths in every room.

With only 5 rooms, you can relax quietly and leisurely. You can also use the main building's large public bath, 'Shikotsuko Daiichi Hotel Suizantei,' free of charge.

  • Shikotsuko Onsen was very quiet, with no convenience stores or restaurants nearby, so we were able to relax peacefully. The front desk, lobby lounge, and restaurant areas felt calm, spacious, and comfortable—perhaps also because the Hotel was not fully booked that day. I have often stayed at small guesthouses and pensions recently, so it was great to experience proper Hotel-style service again, even though this was an annex of a major Hotel. Meals at a Ryokan are often more than I can finish, but here the portions were just right. The pasta in particular was excellent. I was also very satisfied with the services such as drink service at dinner, 24-hour coffee service, gelato after dinner (especially the liqueur-topped gelato, which is available for an additional fee), replenishment of towels and water after dinner, and more. It was also nice that we could use the main building’s private open-air bath at a very reasonable price. The complimentary ramune soda was delicious as well. Two points concerned me: first, the Hotel’s Reservation page stated that they would contact guests by phone or email a few days before arrival for confirmation, but we did not receive any contact. Since it also said that staying might not be possible if there is no response, I called the day before; they simply replied that my Reservation existed without any apology for the lack of notice. Second, while the large in-room jacuzzi filled quickly despite its size and was enjoyable once inside, it was difficult to get out because it is deep and high-sided. This could be dangerous for older guests; having steps or at least a non-slip step stool would make bathing much safer.

  • The food was simply delicious.I still can’t forget the flavor of the potage. It was a bit of a hassle having to go to the main building for the Onsen, but it was wonderful and the water was great, so I was satisfied. The lighting was dim and it was hard to do my makeup,so I would appreciate it if at least the wash area could be brighteror if a hand mirror could be provided.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Exterior

A long yet short day.

This is a quiet property with only five rooms. Time to hold your favorite book and gaze at the sunset sky. Time to listen to the sound of rain and leisurely enjoy gelato. Time to feel the wind and the sound of waves across the lake, admiring the serene beauty of Lake Shikotsu. It is time that flows more slowly than usual. But before you know it, time has passed in the blink of an eye. Long yet short. Here, such a magical day awaits you.

Milk

Keep it as is as much as possible.

In Hokkaido, there are countless opportunities to encounter amazing ingredients. At "Ame no Hi to Yuyake," we create gelato and pizza that allow you to enjoy the natural flavors of these beloved ingredients. For our gelato, we use Jersey milk from Biei Town as the base, and craft flavors using seasonal fruits and vegetables from our own garden, aiming for a gentle, natural taste with minimal sugar. For our pizzas, we use homemade prosciutto aged for over a year, crisp, fresh vegetables from our garden, and locally produced cheese. We keep things simple, as natural as possible. This is what we value most.
