    The pool is excellent, but the cleaning and management could be improved.

    The pool is one of the largest in Okinawa, and with numerous water slides, there was minimal waiting time, allowing for repeated enjoyment. The beach activities included in the All-Inclusive package were excellent, offering free options like canoeing, SUP, and athletics. While breakfast was the same every day and could be improved upon, the wide variety of options ensured it wasn’t an issue. However, there were some drawbacks. Check-in for non-luxury members was uniformly set at 3 PM, resulting in a long queue that took 50 minutes. Additionally, the limited number of elevators caused long waits each time—sometimes 10 to 15 minutes—which seemed to frustrate other guests as well. On one occasion we had to use the stairs up to the 6th floor due to this issue. Unfortunately, snacks like rice crackers distributed for free were spilled on stairways and remained uncleaned even by the next day. Furthermore, while the public bath was spacious with good facilities, cleanliness in areas such as hair accumulation on changing room floors left much to be desired. On a positive note, complimentary alcohol at the first-floor lounge showcased generosity and most facilities apart from elevator availability were well-equipped. However, it felt that services and cleaning standards couldn’t keep up with guest numbers; attention to these details would greatly enhance overall satisfaction.

    Satisfied, but...

    Stayed at the accommodation to create summer memories with the kids. The pool and beach were great, and the room was spacious and comfortable. However, the air conditioning was not very effective, and the elevators seemed to operate poorly. There are a total of four elevators, and while I understand it may be challenging, I hope for improvements in this area.

    Summer Travel

    We stayed for three nights again this year for our family trip. The pool and bath were excellent, and the kids had a great time. I also enjoyed myself. However, while the free drinks allowed us to enjoy delicious beverages, the food lacked uniqueness and felt no different from last year, which was disappointing considering the price.

    Check-in is slow, and breakfast service requires waiting and is quite slow. However, the activities are enjoyable, the pool is excellent, and the hot springs are great.

    It was excellent!

    The Room was spacious and clean, and the executive lounge was excellent. The pool was a big hit with the kids, and we had a lot of fun. The only downsides were the long check-in process and the extended wait times for the elevators.

    Stayed last year with an all-inclusive dinner plan and had a very comfortable experience, so I visited again this year. However, I noticed some disappointing points this time: ➀ The cleaning of the changing room did not seem frequent. There was a lot of hair on the floor, which was unpleasant. ➁ There are too few washing machines and dryers for the number of guests. Many guests seem to stay long-term, leading to competition for their use. Additionally, many were confused as new bills could not be used for currency exchange. ➂ During dinner, I couldn't get a seat because it was fully booked and was asked if I had made a reservation. However, there was no mention of this during check-in. ➃ It would be helpful to have facial cleansers in the public bath area and lotion or moisturizer in the room (I expected more from an all-inclusive plan).

    The pool was amazing!

    We stayed as a family of four. We reserved a slightly more luxurious hotel than usual and fully enjoyed the accommodation. Our child loved the pool slide and went on it multiple times. Unlike local pools where slides have long waits, we only had to wait about 5 minutes, making it very enjoyable. The night pool was also delightful and felt like a great value. The large bath after the pool offered beautiful views of the stars. We would love to stay here again!

    Stayed for 3 nights.

    The pool was incredibly enjoyable. It was our first trip to Okinawa with kids, and they loved the pool so much that they didn’t even want to go sightseeing outside the hotel! Additionally, there were plenty of staff around the pool and beach areas, which gave us peace of mind as we were most concerned about water-related accidents involving children. The waterslide was a lot of fun for both adults and kids. We felt that safety management was very well handled! However, the all-inclusive meals were almost the same every day, and by the second night, we got tired of them... It would be great if there were more variety in meal options for guests on a Multiple Night Stay. There were also limited lunch options within the hotel... It would be nice if there were more lunch menus or restaurants available. All staff members who assisted us provided excellent service with great care. Although the hotel has been renovated, it still felt somewhat old. However, for families with children focusing on pool and beach activities, this might not be an issue at all. As others have mentioned in their reviews as well, there are too few elevators which made moving around slightly stressful. The public bath was overcrowded to a disappointing extent; we only went on our first day because it wasn’t worth going back after that experience. Meals also tended to get crowded—whether reservations could be made or not wasn’t clear due to lack of guidance—and having to wait during vacation time felt unfortunate as well.

    The pool hours were disappointing.

    Overall, I was satisfied with the Hotel. However, if I were to use it again, I would strongly request extending the pool usage hours on check-in and check-out days. On both days, we had to wait outside of operating hours, which was especially tough for children. It wouldn't incur extra costs and is a standard practice at other Hotels, so please consider this. Also, there were no towels in the Room upon check-in, and I had to go to the front desk myself to get them—just a minor inconvenience.

    【Positive Points】 - The Room interior has been beautifully renovated, making the building feel modern and fresh. - The pool is well-equipped with features like a water slide, allowing for a full day of fun. - Meals in the morning and evening are luxurious and highly satisfying (among hotels in the Onna area of Okinawa, this one ranks at the top level for satisfaction). - Facilities such as the poolside bar and lounge are abundant, ensuring no inconvenience when it comes to drinks. 【Negative Points】 - Check-in explanation was minimal; only an A4 paper with a brief overview was provided. → Calling the front desk later for inquiries often resulted in no response. → Even when asking at the front desk directly, answers were often not immediate (while it's understandable that there are many foreign trainees, proper support systems should be in place). → Fireworks were displayed on our stay date but there was no prior notice about it. - Pool towels are limited to one per person per day: → Signs inside ask guests to "dry off" before entering buildings to get drinks from lounges; however, it's difficult to dry off properly with already soaked towels after one use. → As a result, floors around lounges tend to be wet and slippery. - Many people using lockers with locks near public baths during pool usage left fewer available lockers for actual bath users.

    The Facility was clean and well-equipped, making for a very pleasant stay. The buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, which was highly satisfying; however, having some daily menu changes would make it even better as the menu was the same for two days. Additionally, it would be great if the changing room by the poolside were a bit more spacious. Thank you very much!

    The pool itself is fantastic, but...

    During our stay, a typhoon hit, and the pool was closed all day. However, the pool at Alivila, which has reciprocal access, was available. That aside, the next morning the pool remained closed due to restoration work. We had no choice but to visit Alivila again. I expected restoration work to start early in the morning, but there were no signs of it—disappointing to say the least. It seemed there was no intention of returning deck chairs or other amenities either. Whether due to a lack of staff or simply not prioritizing it, it felt understaffed overall. Check-in took a long time as well. The breakfast venue also appeared delayed in preparation. Instead of focusing on free drinks in the lounge and similar services, could more staff be allocated here? As for other aspects: Room noise from hallways is very audible; ceilings are low; sounds from upper floors echo; and there are steps between areas like the bathroom and balcony. While this may sound overly critical, I have no complaints about individual staff members—they were great! And we were very satisfied with the pool itself. For this reason alone, I hope staffing issues can be improved. Otherwise, one might consider staying at Alivila just for its accessible pool facilities instead!

    A well-organized Hotel

    The lobby and rooms are stylishly designed. The large public bath is excellent, and the staff's service is commendable. However, there are too few washer-dryers, and having only one dining venue with almost the same menu every day is disappointing. We recommend actively utilizing Alivila facilities for variety. The pool may not meet high expectations, but it could be enjoyable for those who like heated lazy rivers or slides. A minor dissatisfaction is that towels are not unlimited throughout the facility.

Not suitable for those seeking a quiet and elegant resort experience. ■ Self-Service Luggage to Guest Rooms ■ Carts are available on each floor. ■ Elevator Issues ■ Three main elevators, with one near the large public bath. The elevator near the public bath is crowded in the evening but less busy during the day. During breakfast hours, using the stairs may be faster. ■ Breakfast Crowding Issue ■ If you line up at 6:15 AM for 15 minutes, you can easily enter during the first round of opening at 6:30 AM. The wait time for pancakes is long, so pancake lovers should go early. ■ Limited Pool Chairs Issue ■ During peak season, pool chairs are often unavailable due to early morning reservations by some guests disregarding etiquette rules. If no chairs are available, you'll need to place your belongings directly on open spaces nearby. The cabana pricing plan has been updated and is now more user-friendly; reserving a cabana (for an additional fee) offers higher satisfaction. ■ Dining Space by Poolside Issue ■ Without pool chairs or cabanas reserved ahead-of-time finding dining spots becomes challenging; however indoor seating adjacent next-door bar allows food purchased there exclusively consumed comfortably indoors w/ ample tables provided strictly prohibiting outside food brought-in premises. ## Daily Wristband Collection Required ## Front-desk distribution occurs mornings post-breakfast descending staircase avoiding congestion efficiently retrieving wristbands necessary accessing facilities smoothly thereafter throughout stay duration hassle-free manner ensured!

    Okinawa Family Trip (2 Adults, 3 Children)

    The pool is fantastic. Additionally, the drinks, snacks, and Orion Beer service were very satisfying for both adults and children. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options, so much that we couldn't try everything! The Onsen was nice with an outdoor bath, but the shampoo could be improved.

    Recommended for Families

    We chose this Resort Hotel for our three-generation trip after considering other options. We have stayed here several times since it was the Royal Hotel, and the newly renovated large pool delighted our grandchildren. The breakfast crowd we were concerned about was manageable thanks to the reservation system. Although breakfast ends early at 10:00 AM, we appreciated the takeaway option for family members who enjoyed sleeping in. (It would be even better if breakfast hours could extend until around 10:30 AM.) Our family loves alcohol, so being able to enjoy Orion draft beer was a plus. However, this hotel is truly family-oriented and may not suit those seeking an adult vacation. For guests without children, using the Alivila pool with reciprocal access might be a good alternative. Please note that there is a step in the bathroom of your room. Our family members who used the public bath found it more comfortable and enjoyable; although it can get crowded, you can check its congestion status beforehand. The balcony area has not been renovated yet and lacks chairs or tables. The laundry facilities are limited and often busy—we ended up using them late at night—and detergent needs to be purchased separately.

    Perfect for families with children.

    Visited during the affordable period from weekdays to weekends in early July. The service matched the price, with minimal gaps in expectations. There were no notable services. No doorman to greet guests, and luggage had to be carried to the Room by oneself. Even calling the front desk for towel replacement did not connect at all. However, it seems they are accustomed to handling large numbers of guests efficiently as a large-scale Hotel. By evening, bath towels were piled up at the front desk for exchange, breakfast was managed with a ticket system, and takeout options were available. If casual service doesn't bother you and you're visiting primarily for the pool, this is an excellent choice. The scale of the pool attached to this Hotel is truly one-of-a-kind. (Positive points) - Pool - Free soft drinks at the poolside bar (Negative points) - Only one pool towel per person per day? No towels provided in the public bath area. - Breakfast lacked live kitchen options; surprising that there was no natto or seaweed during my 3-night stay.

    Wonderful Resort Hotel

    The pool and water slide are enjoyable, and the beach and sea game facilities are well-equipped. The breakfast and dinner buffets offer a wide variety of options. The rooms were renovated just last year, making them very new and comfortable. I have stayed at this hotel for two consecutive years, but the only point I hope to see improved is that only one beach lounge chair is allocated per room. This is inconvenient for families who need to take turns using it. Other hotels I have stayed at did not have such a rule, so I hope this can be addressed in the future.

    A Hotel That Kids Will Love: Grand Mercure Okinawa Zanpa Resort

    Thank you for the room assignment at check-in. This time, I could only book a 2-night stay as May 21st, which I hoped to include in my multiple night stay reservation, was fully booked. As a result, I stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Nikko Alivila Okinawa nearby. My children’s favorite hotel in Okinawa used to be Ryukyu Hotel & Resort, but it has now been replaced by Grand Mercure Okinawa Zanpa Resort.

    It was a very lovely Hotel!

    The staff at the front desk and security were all wonderful, which made for a great experience! For dinner, we initially planned to go to a nearby izakaya, but it was crowded, so we decided to eat at the Hotel instead. The buffet was exceptional and of very high quality—I wish I had come with a bigger appetite! If I may suggest something, it would be convenient if guests could walk around inside the Hotel in their room wear (?), especially when going out for drinks. Also, since the pool is one of the highlights of this Hotel, there were many families with children. Unfortunately, we could hear noises like kids jumping off beds and voices in our Room late into the night, which made it noisy during bedtime.

    Exciting Marine Activities

    For the second night of our Okinawa trip, we switched to a Junior Suite after meeting up with a friend. The spacious Room allowed us to relax comfortably. The pool was very large, and we also tried the ocean athletics. We were surprised at how much fun we could have within the Hotel, including meals! While the staff at the ocean athletics might not be part of the Hotel team, there was some unnecessary back-and-forth on the beach after check-in. If they are affiliated, it would be great if they could better anticipate guest needs and provide smoother guidance. This is our fourth stay at Grand Mercure, and as always, we enjoyed their extensive buffet selection and ample seating. This time, we especially loved trying various Okinawan dishes! At other locations, guests could move around in loungewear inside the facility; however, that wasn’t allowed here. Since there’s a beach and pool available, having loungewear for indoor use would be appreciated. We’d love to stay again!

    Best Value Family Delight Hotel

    This was my second stay. I enjoyed the all-inclusive drinks, the well-equipped pool, and both dinner and breakfast buffets with a wide variety of exciting options that satisfied both my heart and stomach. Since I had such a great experience, I would like to suggest the following improvements to make it even more enjoyable for more guests: 1. Waiting time during check-in. 2. Room cleaning concerns (a toothbrush wrapper from a previous guest was found behind the sink). 3. For buffet meals, warming up items like foie gras burgers at dinner or hot dog buns at breakfast would enhance their taste since the ingredients are excellent. Perhaps adding a sign suggesting guests use the bread warmer could be helpful as well. 4. The ping-pong room had broken balls, and since it's a popular facility with people waiting in line, regular checks would be appreciated. Overall, I love this Hotel! I'm looking forward to seeing it become an even better place! I'll visit again!!

    About Meals

    I stayed for a multiple night stay of 2 days on weekdays in June. I was satisfied with the dinner on the first day. However, on the second day, possibly due to fewer guests, the menu was reduced. There were fewer dishes that paired well with alcohol, and I had no choice but to eat the same items again, which was disappointing. The pho I had researched before my stay was also unavailable. The rafute I ate on the first day was delicious. Additionally, since air conditioning adjustment is automatic, the dressing room in the large public bath was hot and there were no fans available, so I managed with cold air from a hairdryer. A foreign guest asked me where to find bath towels; when I told them they needed to bring one from their room, they seemed unaware and troubled by this. Proper explanation should be given at check-in. Overall, the all-inclusive system with unlimited alcohol was great. The brown sugar available in the lounge was delicious and I purchased some as souvenirs. In general, considering the accommodation cost, it met my expectations satisfactorily.

    The end of the rainy season was fantastic!

    Stayed in the Executive Junior Suite Japanese-style Room from June 7th to 11th! Since our child is 1 year and 7 months old, we chose a Japanese-style room where they could walk around freely! The pool was amazing, and the ocean was fantastic too! We would love to stay again! Highly recommended for families with small children!

    Good and Disappointing Aspects of Anniversary Accommodation

    The reserver celebrated their birthday with a 2-night, 3-day stay for two people. The plan offering "1 dinner buffet for stays of 2 nights or more" was very appealing, so they decided to use the dinner on the first night as part of the celebration. After receiving a confirmation email from the reservation staff, they sent a reply in advance with "requests and inquiries regarding their stay." The hotel's response was prompt and left a positive impression. Here are comments based on their actual experience during the stay: ● Positive Points - The explanation about the plan details and services during check-in was thorough and polite. - Upon entering the room, there was a message along with an "anniversary celebration cake," and later they realized that their room had been upgraded—a delightful surprise! (They had requested a room with good views in advance but were thrilled by this unexpected gesture.) - The child especially enjoyed the pool! They repeatedly used two types of slider pools and found even one canoe session at the beach activity not enough because it was so enjoyable! - For dinner buffet seating, their request for specific seating arrangements resulted in securing great seats where they could enjoy meals comfortably. The variety of dishes, drinks including alcohol, made them indulge more than expected (in a good way). Breakfast buffets were equally satisfying—choosing Western-style on day two and Japanese-style on day three kept things fresh and delicious. ● Negative Points - Due to certain circumstances requiring strict checks of their room beforehand: issues unrelated arose such as body soap being replaced by hand soap inside bathrooms; security box dials malfunctioning; TV remote batteries running out—all slightly disappointing moments despite quick responses from front desk resolving these promptly afterward. - While overall dining experiences exceeded expectations—the fruit corner featuring syrup-soaked pineapples felt underwhelming compared against freshly cut ones better suited digestion-wise post-meal enjoyment. Staying within an all-inclusive hotel setting marked its debut here delivering meaningful memories throughout making them eager already planning next reservations soon again expressing gratitude wholeheartedly towards everyone involved ensuring unforgettable hospitality experiences altogether!

    It was excellent.

    I visited with a senior who has always been kind to me! The lounge was comfortable, the bath included a sauna, and the ocean-view open-air bath was refreshing with a pleasant breeze! There were plenty of shops, and even on rainy days, there were various activities and events to enjoy. The Room was clean and well-maintained. Looking forward to visiting again!

    Dinner and breakfast included, stayed in a room with Ryukyu tatami. The reception was polite, and we were able to smoothly proceed to our room. Since the weather was unfortunate on the day of arrival, we decided to enjoy the pool and beach before checking out the next day. First, regarding the public bath: children under 12 could use it without supervision (two 8-year-old girls). The lounge offered a wide variety of soft drinks and chocolate snacks for children. There were also two Orion beer dispensers with automatic pouring functions. Red wine, white wine, and sparkling wine were available for unlimited consumption. Both adults and children enjoyed using hygienic paper cups. From 9 PM to 11 PM, more alcoholic options were added for a deeper adult atmosphere. Meals were buffet-style with an extensive selection of side dishes. Alcohol was also unlimited! The variety of Okinawan cuisine, Japanese food, Western dishes, noodles, desserts ensured that even during a multiple night stay you wouldn’t get bored! As for the pool: while there is an adults-only pool restricted to those over 18 years old, the water slide was fantastic! However, small children should be cautious as their bottoms might get stuck in certain float boats used on slides like Ultra Boomerang—our daughter experienced this issue which caused her pain and tears. There is a changing room within the pool area equipped with an automatic swimsuit dryer machine along with coin lockers & shower booths (2). You can change either inside your accommodation or by poolsides—both are convenient! We didn’t use Poolside Bar services during our visit. To reach Beach takes about five minutes walking via designated paths; however note access gates require Room Keycards upon return entry. Four foot-washing showers installed near-beach areas allow thorough rinsing off sand/saltwater thanks long hoses provided making cleanup easy after playing around sandy shores! Regarding activities at beaches themselves rentals such parasols alongside inflatable sea athletics require registration beforehand directly onsite where lifejackets mandatory supervised lifeguards ensure safety though limited operating hours smaller scale may leave some less satisfied overall experience-wise depending expectations/preferences involved here too perhaps? For multiple night stays: Adults will enjoy alcohol offerings alongside pools/beaches/dining experiences whereas kids delight soft-drinks/snacks/pool fun mealtime adventures alike given diverse menu selections keeping things fresh exciting throughout duration stays assuredly so!

    Stayed for 2 nights. It was almost as described in the reviews, but I wish there were amenities provided in the room (as mentioned in other reviews). It's a shame since there is a large public bath available. The Orion beer offered upon arrival was very delicious, but the snacks were quite underwhelming. For meals, I found the dining experience at Nikko Alivila, which allows reciprocal use, to be more relaxing. The view from the room on a high floor was excellent.

    The buffet and pool are excellent.

    Every year during Golden Week, we visit Okinawa with my grandchildren's family. Choosing a Hotel is always a challenge, but this year we picked one for its pool, and it was the perfect choice. The Room was a bit small and felt dated, but the bathroom had been renovated, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast included plenty of sparkling wine being opened generously, and the buffet offered a wide variety of dishes—so much so that I ended up eating and drinking too much! However, after six meals over our 3-night stay, it did get repetitive by the end. One issue was that calls to the front desk didn’t go through; I had to go there in person each time. At the pool, only one towel per person is provided—this wasn’t enough to dry off completely before entering indoors. If you visit both in the morning and afternoon or use the large public bath later on, you have no choice but to bring towels from your Room or share them among family members. It would be great if they could provide at least two towels per person at the pool. My grandchildren said they want to stay here again next year—and as someone who enjoys good drinks myself—I agree!
