    The Unrivaled Number One

    I’ve stayed at Hotels all over The whole country, and this one was by far number one. The Facility and lounge offerings were excellent, and every dish in the executive lounge was truly delicious. What impressed me most was the staff’s service. There was none of the tiredness or “jaded” vibe you sometimes see when it’s busy; instead, they made conversation genuinely enjoyable, and I felt very comfortable throughout (something that’s rare at Hotels in the city center). Also, the kids’ area in the lounge was clearly separated, so we didn’t have to worry too much about disturbing others even while our child played, which made it easy to relax. This is a Hotel I’d definitely love to return to.

    We recommend booking with lounge access and breakfast included.

    My daughter stayed here last month and said it was wonderful, so we decided to visit as well. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. The Room was spacious, and the in-room bath had a separate washing area, which made it very convenient. The large public bath was also clean. We also fully enjoyed the outdoor pool and water slide. The lounge snacks and drinks were plentiful, but depending on the time of day, only Australian Chandon sparkling wine was served. If the lounge menu could be changed up a little for a Multiple Night Stay, it would make it even more enjoyable. For breakfast, on the first day we went to Hotel Nikko Alivila (available through reciprocal access). Both the service and the food were excellent—truly wonderful. On the second day we ate at Mercure, but breakfast in a banquet hall felt more like a food court. For middle-aged couples like us who are looking for something special, I strongly recommend choosing Hotel Nikko Alivila. We will stay with you again when we visit Okinawa.

    Excellent value for money

    This was our second stay. It was our first time on the club floor. This is an excellent Hotel that gets better every year. The afternoon tea was also outstanding. We could use the pool, and there is a large park nearby, which makes it perfect for families with children. We will come again next year.

    The Best Hotel for a Trip with Your Grandchildren

    The Executive Lounge on the 13th floor has great views, a playroom, and a luxurious afternoon tea. We were completely satisfied with our three-night stay. We also tried the Shisa lottery at the shop and won the huge second-prize Shisa twice. If I had to mention one thing, the display on the coffee machine on the 13th floor is hard to understand. Many guests seemed confused, so it would be helpful if it could be improved so people can use it even when staff are not around. If you ask a staff member it’s easy, but everyone was struggling because they didn’t realize they needed to insert the cartridge. Also, one pot isn’t enough for the shabu-shabu meat—there’s always a line. Everything else was delicious, and we’ll definitely come again—for nourishment and for a refreshing reset. We enjoyed Pilates as well, and took a gentle lantern walk at night with our grandchild. It was wonderful to be able to swim in chilly March—such a great memory. After dinner each time, despite being busy, the restaurant reception staff kindly took family photos for us; all three turned out great. Thank you very much. We plan to return when the turtles come ashore in May or June—please let us know if you have any information.

    The Executive Lounge was amazing!

    I stayed on a Plan that includes access to the Executive Lounge, and it was simply outstanding. Even compared with club lounges at more expensive hotels, the selection and quality felt exceptional. The pool also has a slide and a heated current pool, so you can enjoy it even in colder seasons without any issues. Simply the best!

    Recommended for families.

    The large public bath was not very clean, was dark, and had a lot of insects, which was disappointing. Since the bath in the Room was clean, we used that instead. Above all, there were an extremely large number of families with children, and wherever we went the noise from children made it hard to relax. I think it would be fine to prohibit children from entering the lounge.

    From February 16, we stayed for three nights in one Room on the 11th floor for a total of three people: myself, my middle-school daughter, and my elementary-school daughter. Overall, I was generally satisfied, but there were a few disappointing points. First, the amenities. The Room had toothbrushes for the number of guests, one comb, and only one pouch containing cotton swabs, cotton pads, and a nail buffer. There were no body-wash towels, hairbands, or lotion. We managed without them, but considering the price, I felt they could have been provided. Next is breakfast. We used it three times and the menu was almost the same each day. This is common at many hotels, but I would have appreciated a bit more variety. The all-you-can-drink soft drinks and beer (for set hours) were helpful. My children also enjoyed that there was chocolate as a snack. The pool was heated as well. We were able to use the large public bath without it being crowded, but personally I would have preferred hotter water. Since there are three tubs, it might be nice if at least one were kept at a higher temperature. I would like to stay again during a warmer season.

    Business Hotel or below

    I chose a Junior Suite because I prioritized Room size and the Reviews were good, but I was disappointed by the low quality of the amenities. Despite being marketed as an executive floor, there were no disposable slippers—only reusable cloth ones. There was no bottled water in the Room; instead, you have to take a water jug to the elevator hall entrance and fill it yourself. For the public bath, you’re expected to bring towels from your Room, but there’s no bag or anything to carry them in. There is no ice machine; ice must be purchased at the shop. There was also no ice bucket—what are guests supposed to do? It was very inconvenient. I had read that it opened in 2024 and assumed it would be a new, clean Hotel, but that wasn’t the case—it seems they simply rebranded an existing property, and areas not shown in photos on IKYU look quite dated. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone expecting even a slightly luxurious atmosphere. It was truly disappointing.

    The pool is amazing!

    It was my first time staying here, and the Room was spacious with a great view. The all-inclusive plan included beef shabu-shabu, and we could enjoy both beer and wine, so we were very satisfied. Even though it was February, we were able to use the lazy river pool, and the heated water felt wonderful. Next time, I would like to bring my children.

    It was the best stay!

    The Hotel had a wonderful resort atmosphere overall. The Room was spacious, clean, and had a large bed—plus an adorable pool, palm trees, and an ocean view, which made it perfect. Lounge time felt like a dream. Dinner came with a buffet and all-you-can-drink options with a wide variety of alcohols, and my husband—who loves to drink—was thrilled. After dinner, we enjoyed a relaxing walk by the poolside as it lit up in different colors with lovely music, fully soaking in the resort vibe. For breakfast, we ate at Hotel Nikko Alivila (available through reciprocal access) and were very satisfied. The only disappointment was that I tried to use the large public bath before checkout but couldn’t because it was outside operating hours. Other than that, it was an excellent stay. It’s a Hotel I’d definitely love to visit again!!

    The lounge on the 13th floor was great.

    We didn’t add a meal plan, but the breakfast in the lounge was more than enough. It was relaxing at any time of day, and I’d like to stay again. Since there is a large public bath, it would be appreciated if slippers were allowed throughout the hotel.

    Enjoy reciprocal access to the consistently reliable Grand Mercure and the highly recommended Hotel Nikko Alivila.

    I arrived late and checked in after 9:00 p.m. Even though I hadn’t made any special request, you assigned me a room on the same view floor as my previous two stays—thank you very much. Once again, I was very satisfied with your consistent hospitality and the buffet’s wide variety of menu options. As my reservation included a breakfast Plan, I had breakfast at Hotel Nikko Alivila on the third day. Next time in April, we plan to stay for four nights as a family, so we look forward to seeing you again.

    Great value for money!

    We used the club floor. The lounge staff’s guidance and service were excellent, and we were able to relax. The lounge menu was delicious, the entire Facility was clean, and the view from the lounge was especially outstanding—overall, it was a very satisfying stay that exceeded the price. We stayed for an anniversary, and we were happy to receive thoughtful consideration from the Hotel. One disappointing point was that there was a fairly large, noticeable stain on the bed sheet. It had been cleaned, but it should have been noticed during bed-making, so that was unfortunate. That said, our whole family was very satisfied with this Hotel, and we would definitely like to visit again if we have the chance.

    The club lounge was excellent.

    Last time we chose a Plan without club lounge access, but adding it this time was the right decision. The staff were very friendly, and it was fun chatting with them. Our child was able to use the lounge without any time restrictions. The lounge breakfast also had a great selection, and we were very satisfied. The Room has been fully renovated, but some areas still felt dated, such as the Room windows and the restrooms in the common areas. We were able to swim in the heated pool even in winter. Next time we’ll visit in summer.

    Not suitable for important trips such as adult getaways or anniversary celebrations,

    I booked a Room with lounge access to relax, but I was shocked by the staff’s lack of hospitality, and it became my worst travel memory. If you expect it to be like other hotels’ club lounges, you’ll be disappointed. A lot happened in the lounge as well, but it would take too long to write—there are no good memories. I will never stay here again. For an adults-only trip, an anniversary, or any important vacation, I strongly recommend avoiding this place. I thought a Review score in the 3-point range seemed questionable for a hotel of this size, and I learned that low Reviews exist for a reason. The overall service—staff quality and amenities included—felt worse than a Business Hotel. Prices may be low in the off-season, but they likely rise during peak periods, making the service feel even less worth the cost. Hotel front desk: Even for simple questions that other hotels answer immediately, they took a long time to respond—as if they had to go ask someone in the back. Other Reviews mention crowded check-in; with this kind of response time, it’s no surprise. Room: The Wi‑Fi was unusable; streaming videos was impossible. Even in a club Room, amenities were below Business Hotel level. There is no body towel/scrub towel, so you end up washing with only a face towel. There were no women’s cleansing products either—items that even many Business Hotels provide were missing. Music plays at the pool on the 1st floor; even on the 11th floor, if you open the window you hear loud music louder than the sound of waves. It was still playing at 12:30 a.m. before bed—how late do they keep it on? With the window closed it becomes faint. Lounge breakfast: below Business Hotel level. Restaurant breakfast: limited variety, and if you have a Multiple Night Stay it stays exactly the same every day.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    This was my first stay, and the Room was spacious. There was also a large public bath, so I could relax and take my time. Breakfast offered a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes as well as Okinawan cuisine, and everything was delicious. I think this Hotel is just right for families and guests traveling with children.

    We were very satisfied—there was a wide variety of dishes and everything was delicious! The crispy cream puff pastry and the strawberry Mont Blanc were especially amazing, with the juicy sweetness of the strawberries shining through.

    Everything is great.

    This time, I made a Reservation for the Executive Lounge Access plan (dinner and breakfast included) and chose a Room with a pool view. In the Executive Lounge, premium drinks such as Moët & Chandon were available from 9:00 PM, so I was able to relax in the Hotel. The nighttime lighting around the pool was beautiful, and it was fun to take a walk. For those who want to unwind at the Hotel, I think the off-season—when rates are lower—is an excellent value.

    Your First Time in Okinawa

    This was my second stay at the Grand Mercure, following Miyagi Zao. For my first trip to Okinawa, I researched thoroughly on YouTube in advance and chose this Hotel—and it was absolutely the right choice. The location is excellent, with a beautiful sunset view from the beach right in front of the Hotel. The Room with Ryukyu tatami mats and the clean public bath were both very comfortable. I was also very satisfied with the breakfast and dinner buffets I had been looking forward to, and I would definitely like to stay here again on my next trip to Okinawa.

    The Executive Lounge is exceptional.

    We stayed for 5 nights on a family trip to Okinawa Main Island. Our room included access to the Executive Lounge, which we used multiple times from breakfast to nightcaps. After 9 PM, champagne was served, and the high-quality drinks selection allowed us to enjoy some relaxing time after our child went to bed. We tried the dinner buffet once, which offered a wide range of dishes from classics to Okinawan specialties. However, it felt slightly overpriced. It would have been even better if non-alcoholic beer or sparkling wine were available. The room was a spacious Japanese-Western style that allowed our family to relax comfortably. The beds were very comfortable, and everything was kept impeccably clean. There is also a large public bath, perfect for those who enjoy spacious baths. While many reviews mentioned issues with the elevators, we didn’t find it inconvenient as long as we traveled between the higher floors with lounges and the first floor. Even in winter, there is a heated pool available for activities and enjoyment. Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. We will definitely stay again!

    Great value for money and highly satisfying.

    I stayed in late January, and although the location was different from where I live, it was very warm and extremely satisfying. The meals, especially breakfast and dinner, were excellent and fulfilling. Since it was the off-season in January, it wasn’t crowded at all, which made for a very pleasant stay. However, this is just a personal preference—taking a bus from Naha Airport took about an hour and a half, which felt slightly far. The facility isn’t new but is clean and comfortable. The room I stayed in was particularly comfortable. The price was affordable, offering great value for money. Highly recommended! Of course, there are more luxurious hotels if you’re willing to spend more on accommodation fees, but in terms of cost performance (value for money), this place is outstanding!

    A Wonderful Trip

    Thanks to this accommodation, our three-generation family had a very satisfying trip. 1. Room Condition The wooden flooring in the room was perfect for traveling with a child. The room size was ideal, offering enough space to open suitcases comfortably. An air purifier was provided, which added to the comfort. The hair dryer was powerful and efficient. 2. Dining The breakfast restaurant was spacious and offered a wide variety of food options. To avoid crowds, it’s recommended to go early. A convenient to-go option is also available if dining in isn’t possible. 3. Executive Lounge Staying in an Executive Room gave us access to the lounge on the 13th floor with an excellent view and ample space, which we appreciated greatly. While the food selection wasn’t extensive, its quality was impressive. The lounge operates across four time slots for added convenience.

    We had a wonderful family trip.

    We stayed to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We had reserved a room with lounge access and initially planned to add meals depending on the situation, but the afternoon tea, evening appetizers, and lounge-exclusive breakfast were more than enough to satisfy us without additional meals. Additionally, we informed the accommodation in advance about our anniversary trip and baby product needs. To our delight, there was a surprise cake and chopsticks in the room, which made us very happy. The bathroom and toilet in the room were separate, making it very comfortable. Baby items such as a stroller, baby bath, and baby guard were also prepared for us. The lounge staff were all very polite and approachable; they helped warm up baby food for us and even assisted by bringing food to our table when I struggled while holding my sleeping child—truly exceptional service! Thank you so much for your care. The lounge also had a spacious kids' room where we could spend an entire day comfortably; because of this experience, we will definitely choose a plan with lounge access again next time! If I may make one small suggestion: having a nursing room would be great. Also, since there is already breakfast at the lounge included in some plans, it would be nice if breakfast-inclusive plans could be switched to lunch or if there was an option for next-day lunch-inclusive plans so that guests can enjoy 1.5 days of hotel stay fully. Overall, we are extremely satisfied! We created wonderful memories here—thank you so much!

    I want to swim in the pool in January.

    We visit Okinawa every year for a family trip, and this was our first stay at this hotel. The deciding factor was the availability of the pool even in January, which made our children very excited from the moment we arrived. Although it felt slightly chilly when the wind blew, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves thanks to the heated pool, water slides, and lazy river. The nighttime illumination was beautiful and added a sense of escape from everyday life. The presence of changing rooms and shower facilities within the pool area was also very convenient for families with children. The room matched the photos provided on the site; however, there were some signs of mold in part of the bathtub, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, certain areas showed signs of aging in the building. That said, considering how well-equipped and enjoyable the pool facilities are during this season, we found it to be excellent value for money. Check-in took some time as many staff members were foreign trainees still undergoing training. However, snacks and drinks available in the lobby lounge kept our children entertained while waiting, so it wasn’t an issue. We also used the 13th-floor lounge both at night and in the morning. Although there was a short wait at night, there were plenty of food and drink options that both adults and kids could enjoy. While we didn’t use their public bath this time around, this hotel is highly recommended for family trips—especially if you’re looking for accommodation where kids can fully enjoy playing in pools. We’d love to visit again during summer next time! Thank you very much!

    Perfect for family trips!

    We stayed for 3 nights as a family. For the first night, we chose the Ryukyu Japanese-style Room with breakfast and dinner included Plan. For the second and third nights, we stayed in a Junior Suite with no meal Plan. The buffet dinner is enjoyable but can get repetitive, so one night is enough. The Grand Mercure Buffet offers all-you-can-drink including alcohol, which kids also enjoyed. Since there is reciprocal use with Alivila Hotel, we had breakfast at Alivila on the first morning, which was a great choice. From the second day onward, we changed rooms and gained access to the Executive Lounge where we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks or post-dinner bar time. However, since the menu tends to be similar each day, two days of this experience felt sufficient. If you have access to an Executive Lounge that serves breakfast with both Western and Japanese options in a relaxed atmosphere without crowds like regular dining areas, adding breakfast may not be necessary. The lounge was frequently used by our family as it provided a comfortable space to relax together. There’s an Okinawan izakaya restaurant in front of the Hotel where you can dine-in or take out food—perfect for enjoying meals in your Room! Additionally, about 10 minutes away by car is a fishing port where you can buy fresh sashimi and side dishes to enjoy back at your Room. The heated pool allows for enjoyment even during winter months and features water slides that thrilled our kids! Adults also appreciated facilities like large baths and saunas. The interior design feels very clean; Rooms are well-maintained and comfortable. However, there are no slippers provided for moving between areas like pools or lounges—bringing sandals or Crocs would be helpful. We would love to stay here again!

    I had a very relaxing time.

    The view was excellent, and it was great to have easy access to the executive lounge. The pool was heated, and we ended up enjoying it unexpectedly. The kids mentioned how much fun they had on the slide. We would love to stay here again!
