    The Pitfalls of All-Inclusive Packages

This time, I made a Reservation for an all-inclusive Plan with access to the Club Floor lounge, taking advantage of an early-booking benefit. 1. Check-in: Unlike other Hotels, there were no staff welcoming guests at the entrance. I unloaded my luggage at the drop-off area and parked in an available space while following the signs. The priority check-in counter was full, so I checked in at the regular front desk counter. There was no luggage delivery to the Room; I carried it myself. The explanation of the on-site Facilities at the front desk was very minimal, so I had to look things up and figure them out on my own. 2. Room condition: Although it was on the 11th floor, it had only a partial ocean view and the outlook was not very good. In addition, some wallpaper was peeling and left unrepaired in places. Amenities were quite limited—only bare essentials. Because the vanity area is narrow, it is difficult to place personal toiletries or cosmetics on either side of the sink. At another Hotel where I stayed the previous day, floors were separated between adult-only guests (such as couples) and families with children, so it was quiet; this Hotel does not make that distinction, and voices from corridors and elevator halls could be heard clearly—making it unsuitable if you want a quiet stay. Also, Room air conditioning can only be adjusted in three levels (high/middle/low), and you cannot set a specific temperature like in newer Hotels. 3. Public bath: The card-key entry system is good, but you need to bring towels from your Room. Since it was a weekend, there were many foreign guests and families with children bathing together, so it did not feel suited to relaxing quietly. I also saw children playing in the cold bath next to the sauna and even jumping into tubs. 4. Club lounge: What surprised me most was that during bar time after 21:00, several families—including toddlers through elementary-school-aged children—took over central seating with more than 10 people total, creating a casual family-restaurant-like atmosphere. Older couples like us gave up because they could not find seats, while several foreign women ended up sharing tables with Japanese families due to lack of space. Throughout this situation there was no consideration shown by Hotel staff toward other guests; it became a chaotic Club lounge with none of its expected quietness. As this is something I have never experienced at other Hotels before, I have explained it here in detail despite the length of this review.

A Hotel You’ll Want to Stay at Again

We stayed on a Plan with Executive Lounge access. Breakfast and cocktail time in the lounge were excellent, with unlimited Moët champagne, making our stay very satisfying. The large public bath and sauna were great, and we think it is a good Hotel. It was a little disappointing that the elevators were crowded and the lounge BGM was always the same. We had a wonderful time in Okinawa.

    I’m satisfied.

Some parts of the Facility are a bit dated, but everything is kept clean. I had been concerned about elevator crowding based on Reviews, but it didn’t bother me that much. In May it can still be a bit cool for swimming, so the warm pool water was a big help! My child especially loved the floating water obstacle course. It’s a lively, family-oriented Hotel, and there were many international families as well. We chose the Plan with Club Lounge breakfast and dinner included, and it felt like good value compared with other hotels. If you’re looking for a luxurious atmosphere or a quiet stay, this may not be the best fit.

    Large Public Bath, Sauna

Since my morning sauna is part of my daily routine, I went right when it opened at 6:00, but perhaps it had just been turned on—the temperature was only 60°C. As a sauna lover, I was disappointed and decided not to use it. Also, the view from the panoramic bath is blocked by trees and isn’t good at all, which feels like a missed opportunity.

I won’t be staying here again.

The Room was dusty, so I couldn’t enjoy my stay from the first day due to sneezing and a runny nose. Also, the in-room bath had a strong, unpleasant odor. I understood the building was old when I made the Reservation, but the inadequate cleaning and smell were extremely unpleasant. The staff were all kind, but I will not return.

The perfect Hotel for a family trip

Stayed on April 28: Zanpa Misaki Royal Hotel has been rebranded and renovated. With no tall buildings nearby, the views are outstanding. It is clearly focused on families with children. Kids were running around energetically from morning until 11 p.m. The property is filled with complimentary services so families can relax. There are also many lifeguards at the pool so children can play safely. The lifeguard team is the best in the prefecture—serious, hardworking, and reassuring. The Review score is 4 out of 5; it’s a perfect fit for families with kids, but without kids it feels like a 3–4 out of 5 experience. Accommodation Fee pricing also follows school vacation periods for elementary school children. When school is in session, rates are set quite low. We will stay again.

    Recommended for families with children

We chose this hotel because it offers plenty of free activities—water slides, a floating obstacle course, and canoeing—and we thought our daughter, who loves them, would be happy. We were right. There were also paid ocean activities available, and at the Executive Lounge adults could enjoy beer as well as red wine, white wine, and sparkling wine all day. It was also great that we could use the heated pool on the chilly first day and the regular-temperature pool on the sunny next day. Overall, we felt our family enjoyed more than what we paid for.

    Not suitable for adult travelers.

This was our first stay here. As a couple traveling together, we used the club lounge, but it was completely different from what we expected based on other club lounges we have experienced. There were far too many children, and the overall guest behavior was poor. At the beach, we were told that one parasol and chairs would be free once per night, but only one chair was provided—despite us being two people—which did not make sense to us. We also had to carry all of our luggage ourselves, and there was no doorman. Overall, it left us with the impression of low quality throughout. For two people we paid 100,000 yen, so this was a very disappointing Hotel.

We stayed as a family during Golden Week. The kids loved the pool, and since it was open until 9:00 p.m., we were able to enjoy it. The staff guiding the water slide were also kind. We appreciated the free drinks and snacks after the bath. There were also balloon art and magic events, which looked fun. In the large public bath, some lockers did not have keys, which was inconvenient. We were also a bit concerned that there were no children’s amenities provided, the disinfectant in the shared restroom had run out, and there were no cherry tomatoes at breakfast. Perhaps because there were many guests, it seemed like there weren’t enough staff, so we’d like to visit again during a less busy season.

    This was our first s...

This was our first stay as a family of four. The outdoor pools were excellent, and our 7-year-old grandchild was thrilled. It was a 3-night, 4-day trip; the first two days were sunny and warm—perfect for the pool—though it was quite windy, perhaps because the property is close to the sea. We had assumed all pools would be heated, but it seemed only the lazy river was, which was a bit disappointing. However, our daughter and grandchild didn’t mind at all and enjoyed themselves all day long. After dinner, there was a magic show in the lobby, which our grandchild really loved. Overall, I think it’s an ideal Facility for children.\n\nWe plan to stay again next year, but we do have one request. It was disappointing that dinner offerings were the same on all three nights. Also, there didn’t seem to be many Okinawan dishes. We would appreciate having more Japanese-style options that are also suitable for older guests. To be honest, Western-style dishes were a bit heavy for us as a couple in our 60s.

    Family-friendly

Perhaps because it was during the Golden Week holidays, there were many guests: first there was a queue at check-in, then congestion for the elevators to get to our Room, and breakfast in the morning was also very crowded and difficult. We were very satisfied with the Room facilities and how delicious the food was. I would like to see improvements at least for the check-in queues, such as increasing the number of staff.

As a budget all-inclusive option, it’s important to set expectations in advance.

I stayed at a Hotel with a large pool that has been a hot topic even among Okinawa residents. I love alcohol, so I was thrilled that it was all-inclusive. However, because it is relatively affordable among all-inclusive Hotels, there were many families and children. They are adorable, but when children run around in the dining area, it feels dangerous—I couldn’t help imagining what might happen. I was nervous thinking, “What if someone bumps into me and I accidentally spill hot soup?” or “What if they fall and cut their forehead?” In fact, an older child stepped on my foot without saying anything, and the parents seemed completely absorbed in drinking. I understand that people can get excited on vacation because it feels different from everyday life, but I would appreciate some measures such as regular announcements reminding guests not to run or shout in particularly risky areas like the dining venue and the public bath. Also, check-in took a very long time. Since I feel I am paying for 21 hours of stay time, I would like check-in to be smoother.

It was a wonderful Hotel with everything well balanced.

The meals, the pool, and the beach-related services were all wonderful. The renovated areas of the Facility were clean, with a cool and lovely design. The unrenovated areas felt a bit dated. If I had to mention a few disappointing points: The executive lounge was consistently noisy with children, and it felt too loud for those who want to relax quietly. In the Room as well, we could hear footsteps from people running around in the Room above. Also, the background music in the executive lounge was somewhat intense—like what you often hear in apparel shops—and it felt slightly mismatched for such a stylish space. Overall, I felt this was a truly wonderful Hotel with many memorable moments, so I think it could become even better if these points were improved. I would love to stay again.

    We had a relaxing stay!

From April 20 to 23, we enjoyed three wonderful days with great weather, and the Executive Lounge was excellent—it had been a while since we were able to spend such an elegant and relaxing time. We would love to visit again.

    Highly satisfied

The lighthouse view from the Room, breakfast in the lounge, and cocktail hour made for a very satisfying stay. The only minor drawbacks were that the elevators were crowded and the lounge background music was always the same. My lost item arrived today! Thank you for your prompt assistance—it really helped.

A Hotel popular with travelers from Japan and abroad

Although it was not peak season, the property was bustling with many guests, showing how popular it is. The outdoor heated pool lets you enjoy a tropical vibe even when the weather is not hot. However, I felt that some Facility improvements have not kept pace with the number of guests. Depending on the time of day, there were lines at the front desk, elevators were so full we could not get on, and at breakfast there was even a wait of about 20 parties—scenes that reminded me of big-city crowds. I hope these issues can be improved. Also, if an airport luggage delivery service were available, guests could travel light on their last day, so I would like you to consider introducing it.

Overall, it felt like a Hotel that can only operate strictly by the manual. You might not notice if nothing goes wrong, but it was shocking that they couldn’t respond even when we pointed out issues. It left me with the impression of a Hotel I never want to use again.

    The Club Floor was excellent.

Since last year, whenever I go to Okinawa, I stay at this Hotel.

We stayed here for the first time last October and loved it, so we returned again this April. The pool for kids had a slide, and adults could enjoy it too. The large public bath was clean and great as well. This time, we enjoyed nightcaps on the 13th floor.

We’d love to welcome you back.

The kids loved it so much they didn’t want to leave and kept saying, “Let’s stay here again!” The free-flow selection was excellent, and everyone—from adults to children—was able to relax and enjoy themselves. And above all, the pool was fantastic. They had so much fun on the Ultra Boomerang slide that they went down it again and again. It was a shame it was closed for longer due to strong winds, but we’d love to come back for another try!

Worth considering if your children can use the pool.

I don’t think there are many Hotels as luxurious as this one, with three water slides. There’s also a night pool; when I visited in late March, it was open until 9:00 PM. There was almost no waiting time for the slides, and you can ride them as many times as you want—though you’ll probably get bored eventually. Dinner was great and very filling, but my child said there wasn’t much they could eat at breakfast (they’re a picky eater). They especially wanted potato salad, which is their favorite. The only disappointment was that, with as many as 1,100 guests staying at the Hotel, the three elevators were running almost constantly but were still hard to get on. We ended up using the stairs most of the time. I’d be happy if this could be improved a bit.

The quality of service varies greatly depending on the Hotel staff member.

While some Hotel staff were polite and handled things properly, others were careless, and the gap in service quality was far too large. Their ages and work areas varied. When I asked about beach activities at the front desk, an older staff member acted overly arrogant and spoke down to me, saying I should go there because they wouldn’t know until I did. But when I went to the activity desk, they told me that the front desk and Reservations are linked. Also, when my Diamond member benefits were not included and I called the front desk, someone speaking broken English said they didn’t understand and told me to wait—then hung up (in the end, I had to go down to the first floor myself to ask at the front desk). Although I had informed you in advance that this was a university celebration trip for my nephew, no one mentioned it anywhere. The pool was very fun. There was some trash in it at times and my feet hurt a bit. It was cold climbing up, but we could ride the Boomerang repeatedly without waiting, which was great. At the dining venue, having all-you-can-drink alcohol included was excellent and delicious. The Executive Lounge was spacious with good coffee, and it was great that children could play there—our 5-year-old really enjoyed it. However, snacks and drinks were only available in the free area on the first floor; I would have liked more kid-friendly treats upstairs as well. Also, seeing Executive Lounge staff walking around as if they were more important than guests did not feel “executive” at all.

    Definition of All-Inclusive

As it’s a large Hotel, the elevator wait times were intense. And even when the doors finally opened, if a big group rushed in, the people at the end often got caught—yet the doors wouldn’t stop—so everyone would panic together. This became a regular occurrence throughout our 2-night, 3-day stay. Families with small children should be especially careful. We also realized later that this Accommodation was described as “all-inclusive.” However, there were also Plans without meals, so their definition of “all-inclusive” seemed different from other Accommodations. Maybe only the Plan that includes access to the upper-floor lounge is truly all-inclusive? In any case, thank you for taking care of us!

I was very satisfied, but there’s still a little room for improvement!

◯Dining We added the dinner buffet for two nights, but the selection was almost the same both days. There was a wide variety and it was tasty, but by the second night we got a bit tired of it. ◯Guest Room The room was very clean and comfortable. There was a TV in the bathroom, so we could relax in the bath. ◯Pool The water felt a little dirty. It can’t be helped to some extent, but we noticed snack trash, hair, small insects, thread-like debris, and cracked tiles on the pool wall. Also, in mid-March it was still chilly; although it was said to be heated, the water temperature felt lower than expected and it was cold. The lifeguard checked things very carefully with a strong sense of responsibility, which made us feel safe. The slide was fun. ◯Shop With a Multiple Night Stay, if you decline housekeeping you receive a 500-yen voucher that can be used at the shop. However, due to sudden system maintenance we couldn’t make purchases at checkout time; there was no notice of temporary closure either, so we ended up receiving something we couldn’t use. ◯Checkout Time Our Plan included 12:00 checkout (normally 11:00), but we received a call at 11:00 telling us to check out. We said that wasn’t correct; they hung up to confirm but never followed up afterward. We should have been able to relax until noon, but instead spent the last hour feeling unsettled. At the front desk they apologized and said it was their mistake, but since this is private time during our stay, we didn’t want unnecessary interruptions or distractions. ◯Sea In the afternoon there was an extreme low tide, and we were able to observe many sea creatures. ◯Lounge It felt well stocked overall, but many items were repeated day after day—two days seemed enough for us.

    At the Executive Lou...

At the Executive Lounge on the 13th floor, there was a great variety of food and drinks, all very delicious. We relaxed and enjoyed them while looking out at the ocean, the sunset, and the white lighthouse through the windows. I wasn’t sure how to use the coffee machine, but a staff member kindly showed me. When I asked the lounge reception staff about Zanpa Lighthouse, they recommended it, and I was able to visit before check-out. It became one of my favorite memories from this trip. The spa (bath) has an open-air bath, and if you go up to the next floor by stairs there is also a large bathtub. I was able to soak comfortably and relax. It felt like many of the staff were from overseas. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Thank you very much for taking care of us for four days. I would love to visit again.

Perfect for a New Year’s Eve countdown!

Even in Okinawa, you can enjoy a fun stay with your grandchildren at an affordable price. It’s not luxurious, but there are plenty of activities, and our little grandchildren had a great time.
