    The best ever

    It's a shame that there are only five-star reviews. First of all, regarding the meals, the head chef personally selected the finest ingredients and presented them in the best way possible. Although the head chef was still young, the level was amazing. The attentiveness of the hall staff was also excellent, coordinating with the kitchen to serve the meals at the perfect timing. The explanations of the dishes were neither too long nor too short, making it easy to understand and providing the best time. The front staff also responded to our questions and requests with a smile (not a forced smile) and were very kind and attentive, providing us with truly the best time. Even though it took six hours by car, it was worth the trip. Thank you very much. We will definitely visit again. I have stayed at various hotels and ryokans through IKYU, but this was the best ever.

    I'm glad we had the opportunity to connect.

    Located less than a 10-minute leisurely walk from Izumo Taisha, the facilities, cuisine, and service were all satisfactory. Thanks to this, we were able to create wonderful travel memories. Thank you to all the staff. I am truly glad I found it on the IKYU site. I would love to visit again next year. (Because of the good location, we were able to walk to Izumo Taisha for an early morning visit before breakfast.)

    Couple's Trip

    We wanted to visit Izumo Taisha on our couple's trip, so we searched for a place within walking distance. This time, we stayed at the property, and everything exceeded our expectations. The staff's hospitality, the meals were all delicious, and the explanations of the dishes were detailed. We had enjoyable conversations and truly had a wonderful day. Next time, we will visit Shimane with the purpose of visiting Kamutakarai-san. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you very much.

    The food is delicious!

    I used it for a solo trip. Although I was alone, I was able to enjoy the delicious and creatively prepared meals without feeling self-conscious during dining. The tableware was also lovely. I felt full, but perhaps because of the gentle ingredients, I didn't feel heavy. It was a bit expensive since I was alone, but I would like to use it again in a different season.

    Delicious cuisine and Onsen and

    All rooms have an Onsen, and there is no large public bath, which is a high point for me. When the room has an Onsen, I don't go to the large public bath, so I feel a bit like I'm missing out. Therefore, it's better to focus on the room's bath without a large public bath. I was very satisfied with soaking in the Onsen many times until checkout. The room amenities even included a foaming net for face wash, which impressed me. Also, the wooden toothbrushes and razors seem to be environmentally friendly. It's the times we live in. The standard room was just the right size for two people to stay and relax. Since it's in the city, you can't see outside, but I could relax like at home, taking a leisurely bath without worrying about the surroundings, lounging around, and enjoying drinks and tea. The food was delicious no matter what I ate, and the presentation was outstanding. They used plenty of local ingredients, and being able to enjoy local specialties is one of the pleasures of traveling. I'm not good with things like salmon roe, sea urchin, or turban shell, but the salmon roe was so bursting and delicious that I was moved. The sea urchin was fragrant and delicious without a flat taste. The turban shell was delicious with sake lees sauce. The sake lees sauce was so delicious that I asked for more. Needless to say, the fish was delicious, and the meat was surprisingly tender and odorless, even though it was from a mature cow. Also, I could try various Shimane sake, whiskey, and shochu, which I used as a reference for souvenirs. The food paired very well with the alcohol, making it an irresistible dinner for someone like me who loves alcohol. Of course, I bought all the sake, whiskey, and shochu as souvenirs. By the way, by the end of dinner, my fullness level was off the charts. Breakfast was also beautifully presented, and since I love Shimane rice, I had seconds. I'm not a fan of buffet style, so I was happy that it was served as a set. In any case, the food was excellent! Regarding customer service, the moderate distance was nice. However, when I arrived, I couldn't find the front desk and thought it was upstairs, so I took the elevator. It would be kind if the front desk guidance was clearer. The interior seemed to have various elaborate designs, but there was no particular explanation, so I only took a quick look, but I thought it was beautifully arranged.

    Impressed with the cuisine!

    The cuisine was excellent. It exceeded my expectations. I would love to visit each season. The staff's service was wonderful, and they had deep knowledge of both the cuisine and the drinks. It was professional work. The bath was a semi-open-air bath, so it was a bit cold.

    There is no better place than this!!

    Thank you very much for the other day! We used it for the first time on our trip to Izumo for my wife's birthday. First, from the parking guidance upon arrival, the bright response blew away the fatigue of the long journey! The Room was clean, the amenities were well-stocked, and even the orientation was corrected thoroughly!! The meals we were looking forward to were all worthy of being the main dish, and they were so fulfilling that we were completely full! (I am a man who eats a lot, haha) The first glass of beer was incredibly delicious, and the glass had a thin rim, making it very pleasant to drink from, just perfect!! I also love sake, and they had a wide selection of rare sake, allowing us to choose ones that matched each meal, which was very nice! I requested a surprise dessert for my wife's birthday, and they provided a wonderful presentation that made my wife very happy! The breakfast was also very cute in presentation, perfect for photos, and absolutely delicious!!! There were so many good things that I can't write them all here, and we were completely satisfied! When traveling to Izumo, this is the place to stay! In fact, I can't think of anywhere else because the hospitality and service were all excellent! Thank you for the best memories! We will definitely come again~!

    Izumo Travel

    For my first trip to Izumo, I stayed at kararako. I felt very comfortable with the impeccable hospitality of all the hotel staff. As for the meals, I was completely satisfied with the fusion of the chef's wonderful presentation and flavors for both dinner and breakfast, and I finished everything. I would like to stay at kararako again on my next trip to Izumo. Thank you very much.

    Simply grateful for the encounter.

    It may be very rude to express it in what is commonly known as a review rating, but since 5 is the highest rating, it's all 5. The meals are prepared with care and attention to the ingredients, without forgetting the basics, and the taste is simply delicious. The young head chef, who comes out of the kitchen several times during the meal to check on the guests and clear the dishes, showed us the ideal image of a head chef, which was a wonderful answer for us as a parent and child. The staff are well-trained and approach at the right timing without us having to call them, as if they could hear our inner voice. Thank you for choosing this property for our trip to ease my son's burdened heart and for drawing out his words that he was glad to come. The suggestion of delicious sake from Shimane was not forced, and we were taught the perfect brand, which we promptly purchased. While many ryokans focus only on dinner, the breakfast here is also wonderful, with no shortcuts, and it's amazing that the head chef and the same staff from the previous night are there in the morning and evening. My son is left-handed, and he was even happier to find that the chopsticks were set for left-handed use at breakfast, which he said was a rare and delightful gesture. The staff are incredible, focusing all their attention on observing, listening, feeling, and proposing to the guests. The shuttle service was also a pleasant hospitality, truly embodying the good heart of Japan here. It's a healing place that we must revisit, as words cannot express how perfect everything is. When I asked about the chopsticks used during dinner, which were very handy, they properly researched and informed us at checkout. A property that can properly respond to even small questions is of rare value. Thank you to the head chef and all the staff. We hope you remain unchanged and look forward to revisiting while working hard every day.

    Comfortable Auberge

    I stayed for the first time. Dinner was full of seasonal flavors. Breakfast was so wonderful that I ate too much. Moreover, the service surpassing the cuisine is top-notch. This perfectly embodies the purpose of Michelin's establishment. The cuisine and service were on par with or even better than those at Hotel de Mikuni in Nara. I can confidently recommend it to everyone. I found an exceptional property in my beloved Izumo that I want to visit.

    Family Trip

    This is my first stay at Kararako in two years since my last trip to Izumo. The room was very clean and I was able to relax. The meals were very delicious, utilizing ingredients from Shimane, with elaborate tableware and excellent service. The location was also great, just a 3-minute walk to Izumo Taisha, allowing us to visit early in the morning and avoid the crowds. I would definitely like to stay here again when I come to Izumo.

    It was truly a wonderful Stays.

    I have stayed at many luxury ryokans, but I have never written a review. However, this property was the best! Especially the food was all wonderful and truly delicious. I couldn't help but exclaim "Delicious! Delicious!" with every dish. The chef seems to be very young, but the dishes were so sophisticated that it was hard to believe given his youth. Also, the timing of the food service, which I always pay attention to, was perfect, and I was very satisfied. It was also nice that delicious sake was offered for less than 1,000 yen. The room was not very spacious, but it was clean and comfortable. Considering that it is just a few minutes' walk from Izumo Taisha, there is no problem at all. This time, I stayed at Kamutakarai-san to visit Izumo Taisha. From next time, I will come to Izumo Taisha to stay at Kamutakarai-san. It was truly a great property. Thank you very much.

    Everything exceeded expectations.

    I made a reservation to let my parents enjoy delicious meals and onsen as a token of appreciation for their wedding anniversary and daily gratitude. Thanks to you, we were able to create very good memories. I felt the chef's passion in each dish, and the presentation and tableware were wonderful, satisfying both the palate and the eyes, exceeding expectations. Additionally, the staff had extensive knowledge of the food, drinks, and tableware, and their attentiveness and consideration were all excellent. My parents were also delighted, and it turned out to be a truly happy and enjoyable trip. Thank you very much!!

    Truly a Japanese Auberge!

    Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely wonderful. The taste was, of course, excellent, and the presentation, including the dishes, was superb, making it a feast for the eyes as well. Each dish left a lasting impression. Since I am pregnant and wanted to avoid raw foods, they accommodated my request with great care, allowing me to enjoy my meal with peace of mind. The Room was compact yet spacious enough to feel comfortable, and the amenities showed a thoughtful touch. Being so close to Izumo Taisha, we were able to take a walk before breakfast, making it a very satisfying trip. Thank you very much.

    Visit to Izumo Taisha Shrine

    About 10 years ago, we visited Izumo Taisha as a family of four, and this time, my husband and I found the newly established Kamunagara and stayed for one night. The shrine is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk away, and the room was very clean and relaxing. As expected from an auberge, the dinner and breakfast were extremely delicious and satisfying. Even my husband, who is particular about food, was very pleased. It was one of the few places we would like to visit again. PS No Meals Included is a waste.
