    I had heard the rumors, but

    For the price, both the hard (although the building itself is old, the bed comfort and cleanliness are excellent) and the soft aspects are wonderful at this Hotel. I would like to use it again when I come to Kyoto. It was a wonderful stay. Thank you.

    I had a pleasant stay.

    The staff greeted us often, allowing us to have a pleasant stay. Thank you very much. What was a little disappointing was that there were hairs left on the floor of the Room, and the creaking of the bathtub bottom was concerning.

    I always use this place when staying in Kyoto. The rooms have been renovated and have a sophisticated Kyoto-like atmosphere. The SDGs initiatives are also a wonderful perspective. The water server was thoughtful and appreciated. I always have a hard time deciding on breakfast, but I enjoy the Japanese cuisine at Uoman. Very satisfied.

    We have upgraded your Room.

    Conveniently located right after getting off the Shinkansen at Kyoto Station, you can store your luggage immediately! The Room is simple with no unnecessary amenities. The breakfast featuring Kyoto-style yudofu had a slightly sweet taste. The staff were kind, as expected from a city Hotel. I would like to use it again.

    South Wing

    I was recommended to check in using the check-in machine and completed the procedure. The screen displayed that I had been upgraded, but since my reservation was for the main building, I didn't realize it was the South Wing, nor could I tell the floor from the room number, which caused confusion with the elevator. There was only one employee near the machine, so they probably couldn't handle the situation, but I felt it was unhelpful. Also, the check-in machine's screen is visible from behind, so I was concerned that fields like the signature were large and easily visible. The room was spacious and had a sense of cleanliness, but there was hair left in the bathtub. Additionally, voices from other rooms echoed at night. I also felt it was inconvenient that there was only one elevator on the floor, considering the size of the floor. The access is good, and I have stayed here many times, so it was disappointing this time.

    It was very quiet and I was able to rest well.

    Arrived in the morning, left luggage with the bell, and headed to Arashiyama. The weather was nice, the autumn leaves were at their best, and I was moved by their beauty. Despite the many foreigners, I was able to enjoy a yudofu lunch without much wait and returned to the hotel in the evening to check in. As was the case when I arrived in the morning, the staff's response was quick and very pleasant. The room was upgraded, facing the courtyard, very quiet, and the large bed allowed me to relieve the fatigue from walking around all day. Kyoto Station is right in front, and you can walk to Toji as a stroll. During the autumn leaves season, I was impressed by the nighttime illumination of Toji. Next time, I would like to stay during the cherry blossom season.

    Comfortable stay

    The Room felt much larger than its actual size. I wonder if there is some ingenuity in the Room's design. The bed and pillows are comfortable. The breakfast buffet is luxurious and very satisfying. The rice was truly delicious and I was impressed. When I was looking for a taxi early in the morning, the bell staff went out of their way to call one for me. Thank you very much. I would definitely like to use it again.

    As expected of a long-established Hotel!

    I stayed at the beginning of December. Since it was close to my birthday, I received cookies as a celebration. They were delicious. A student part-time staff member talked in detail about recommended spots for autumn leaves, and it was wonderful to see even part-time staff sincerely engaged in their work. I had reserved a standard room, but it was a room on the renovated premium floor. It had a large bed and a comfortable sofa, which was relaxing. The wallpaper had a calm color scheme and was lovely. The bathroom was a three-piece unit bath, but the bathtub was large enough to stretch my legs. I couldn't find any skincare products, so it's better to bring your own. There were three breakfast venues, and I chose the buffet by the courtyard. The variety of bread was impressive. If I have another opportunity to stay, I would like to stay at this hotel again.

    Stayed after a long time

    It was very comfortable. Unlike the hotel I stayed at the previous day, I could feel the hotel's policy. Everything was smooth, and there was no decline in service during the busy season. I would like to stay again. Thank you.

    I had too high expectations for the Japanese breakfast.

    I didn't feel it the last time I stayed, but while the automatic check-in is good, I couldn't tell the difference between the buildings and ended up going to the wrong one. It's hard to understand for first-time guests. I chose Japanese breakfast, but there were few items, no drinks, and not even tea was served (it seemed to have been served to other guests, so it seems to have been forgotten). With Western breakfast, you get dessert, but there was no fruit. I was disappointed, thinking, "Is this it?" The salmon was delicious. The service was mechanical, lacking warmth, and poor. I will never choose Japanese breakfast again. I might have expected too much from the name of the Miyako Hotel.

    It was a comfortable stay, accommodating our prior requests.

    Due to my sleep disorder, I requested a quiet Room, and I was given a room at the far end of the top floor, which allowed me to have a comfortable stay. However, since my last stay, there were no coffee cups provided, so I brought paper cups and coffee this time. I would appreciate it if at least coffee cups could be provided as amenities.

    The First Stay at Miyako Hotel

    I have visited Kyoto many times, but this was my first stay at the Miyako Hotel. It was very comfortable. The access from the station was more convenient than I expected, and I would like to use it again!

    Weak shower.

    During the automatic check-in, I was upgraded to a room on the top floor. If you are a member of the Miyako Hotel, check-in is very easy and speedy. The difference in check-in time compared to some famous hotel in Tokyo is like night and day, which makes you feel good. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of dishes and was satisfying. However, I have one complaint. It is the weak water pressure and the fluctuation in water temperature of the shower. I hope this can be improved somehow. That being said, overall it was a comfortable hotel. I will use it again.

    The location was good.

    I stayed with a focus on location for a one-night short-term stay, and I was able to spend my time safely. However, it would have been helpful if the access information on the website was a bit more specific. After getting off the JR Shinkansen, it seems that only those who are very familiar with the station and the area or those who are quite fit can reach the hotel in "2 minutes on foot from the Hachijo Exit."

    Satisfaction

    The Room was very spacious, and I had a pleasant stay. The bath was also large, allowing for a relaxing experience. I would have preferred pajama-type sleepwear over the separate type.

    Upgrade

    It is in a very convenient location, whether you want to go shopping or sightseeing, as it is very close to Kyoto Station. Being able to leave our luggage and go out was very helpful. Thank you very much. Thank you for upgrading us to a very spacious Room. However, the smell of dust from the carpet was concerning, so we kept the window open for a while. The hallway also smells. The cleaning was done nicely everywhere. The noise from the motorcycles outside was quite audible from the Room and was noisy until around midnight. The bed was hard, and I couldn't sleep well. For breakfast, we chose the Japanese and Western buffet. There were various Western dishes, but for Japanese dishes, there was only miso soup, fish, and simmered dishes, which were just enough to fill us up. The service and cost performance were good, so the rating is high.

    The location was excellent and it was clean and pleasant. The self-check-in was convenient and saved us from having to wait in line.

    The main building with a sense of antiquity.

    Both check-in and check-out have become automated, so you cannot expect customer service from so-called hotel staff. How do you differentiate from a Business Hotel? Due to staff shortages, it may be unavoidable, but I felt that the price and service do not match. Also, the bathroom's age is undeniable, which was disappointing.

    I was able to use it without any excess or deficiency.

    Thank you for your hospitality. The check-in took quite some time due to the Accommodation Tax, but everything else was satisfactory, and as it is very close to the station, I find it a convenient Hotel to use.

    I was very satisfied!

    I used it for the first time in 10 years. I booked a single Room, but it was upgraded to a corner Room in the South Wing. It was a bit far from the elevator, but it was so comfortable that it felt like a waste to use it alone. However, the wear and tear due to the age of the building was noticeable, such as the wallpaper in the Room peeling off. The response from the Hotel staff was as expected from a Hotel. Also, the Japanese and overseas guests I met were calm, well-mannered, and sensible, allowing me to have a comfortable stay within the Property.

    We were upgraded to a larger, quieter room, which was very relaxing. Thank you very much. The staff were friendly and helpful, which was great. For breakfast, I chose a Japanese set meal because I wanted to take my time, but I noticed a few things. Even for someone like me who eats small portions, it felt like a diet meal, so if I stay again, I would like to try the buffet. After breakfast, I went sightseeing for a bit, and as expected, I got hungry before noon. The yudofu (two small pieces of tofu) and grilled salmon (soft and delicious), with fish paste next to the grilled salmon, and two types of side dishes called obanzai (both seemed to be just taken out of the fridge, cold), felt like home-cooked dishes. The chirimen sansho, miso soup with tororo kombu and fu, overall gave a simpler impression than a home breakfast. I could choose between rice and porridge, so I chose porridge, but when I asked if there was a spoon, as there was a ladle for the yudofu, I was told there wasn't. It also felt strange that dried seaweed was served with the porridge. When ordering a Japanese set meal at a hotel, it's often said that you can have refills of rice or porridge, and I often feel that the staff ask if you'd like more without us having to request it, but that wasn't the case. On the same day, I was organizing a reunion lunch at the hotel's Chinese restaurant, and porridge was included in the course. I talked a bit with the person in charge about delaying the timing of serving the porridge, and they said they prioritize the customer's wishes, but if too much time passes after it's ready, the porridge becomes sticky and cools down. They said they could serve it later than when it's ready if that's okay. I was impressed by the coordination between the cooks and the servers, their effort to serve the dishes at the best timing, and their attitude of respecting the customer's wishes. The food and atmosphere were great, and it was an enjoyable reunion. I thought it was convenient and nice that there were vending machines for drinks throughout the facility. However, it was disappointing that there wasn't anything I wanted to buy. I would like to request the sale of sweet soft drinks made with sugar, unsweetened carbonated water, and 100% fruit juice.

    Conveniently located near the station.

    The Room was clean and relaxing. The Room amenities included drip coffee, so it was nice to be able to enjoy it leisurely in the Room after breakfast. The 11 a.m. checkout time was also helpful as it allowed us to prepare for departure with ease.

    Close to the station, convenient, and comfortable!

    Thank you for the upgrade. The spacious desk and the sofa where I could place my luggage were very helpful. The bathtub fills up quickly, but the showerhead was disappointing. No matter which switch I used, it was neither here nor there. The water pressure is weak, so it takes time to rinse out the shampoo foam. I'm concerned about water droplets falling because the place to hang the showerhead is close to the outside. It would be helpful if the water and hot water were not separate, but a combined faucet. I enjoyed the Japanese set breakfast very much.
