    Kyoto Sightseeing

    The Room was very clean, and the breakfast (Japanese-style) was delicious—we were very satisfied! It seems our Room was upgraded. Thank you very much. It was also great that an AEON Mall is next door, making it easy to buy snacks for late at night. At night, we were slightly bothered by the sound of passing trains and motorcycles... Thank you for your hospitality. We will stay again.

    Convenient location

    It would be nice if the amenities I need were available at the front desk, since they are already provided in the Room. It made me want to try staying in other Rooms as well.

    As always, it was comfortable.

    This time as well, we made a Reservation for two Rooms and thought it couldn’t be helped that we would be split between the new wing and the main building. However, the front desk staff kindly asked if we would prefer adjacent Rooms, found available Rooms, and arranged them next to each other. They also delivered our luggage to our Rooms, and I can only express my gratitude. Thank you very much. Thanks to you, we had a very comfortable stay.

    Stay for 5 nights and 6 days from December 28.

    Stayed 5 nights/6 days over the New Year holidays. It’s right by Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit, so it’s very convenient. [New Year Holiday Events] - Year-end event: Joined the “Daiku” (Ninth Symphony). - New Year’s Day event: Joined the rooftop first sunrise viewing and a visit to Inari Shrine. [Room] - The bath water temperature was good. - Amenities: no makeup remover, toner, or emulsion/lotion. - The window was hard to open and close. - The air purifier was tucked behind the table and confusing to use. It was also hard to ask for a humidifier; my throat got sore and I caught a cold. - No bottled water provided. - The Room is spacious. - The view from the window didn’t feel closed in. [Meals] - On New Year’s Day, I paid 4,000 yen for a Japanese breakfast, but everything except the white miso soup (ozoni), coho salmon, and rice was served ice-cold as if taken straight from the refrigerator. At least bring it to room temperature. [Other] - Massage and spa services were not available during the year-end/New Year period. The Hotel staff didn’t seem aware either, and there were no alternatives—missing out for all 5 nights/6 days was disappointing. A unit bath is already tough in Kyoto winter. - No welcome drink. - There is a doorman. - There is a concierge. - Service was good overall. - Taxis are available outside. - Many international guests stayed here too.

    Before I knew it, it had turned into a business hotel.

    I made a Reservation for the first time in several years. I was surprised to find an automated check-in kiosk at check-in, like you’d see at a Business Hotel. I had expected the feel of a well-known brand Hotel, but the Business Hotel-style check-in was too impersonal and took away from the sense of hospitality. It was unexpected. The Room facilities have been renovated to some extent, but the hallways and Room walls felt quite worn. Breakfast wasn’t crowded, so it was stress-free, but it was disappointing that there was no chef-made egg station service.

    Regular Accommodation

    I visit Kyoto two or three times a year, and this is my regular Accommodation. It’s very convenient, close to the station. The Room is spacious and clean, and I’m very satisfied. I’m also satisfied with the meals.

    Conveniently located...

    Conveniently located near Kyoto Station. The friendly, calm service makes for a relaxing and comfortable stay. This was the case again this time. However, it was disappointing that the bathroom is small and not very easy to use.

    Very convenient.

    I used to stay here often. After a long time, I stayed again and found it very convenient as it is close to the station. The lobby is spacious with high ceilings, and the Room was clean and comfortable to use.

    It had been a while since I stayed in the main building.

    This time, I stayed in the main building instead of the new building. I have been staying here for over 10 years and always feel at ease. The room was clean and well-maintained, but I wished there had been another type of pillow on the bed. I later found one in the closet when leaving and regretted not checking earlier. The shower water took a while to get warm, which was a bit concerning. Breakfast was consistently good as always, and my son, now a high school student, said he likes how whole oranges and bananas have always been available since he was a child. The parking lot is spacious, it's close to the station, and this time it was convenient as we wanted to visit Nara with easy access to Keihan Railway stations nearby.

    I stayed at the accommodation on New Year's Eve. It was my first time, but I arrived without any trouble as it was close to the station. At check-in, there were both self-service and staffed counters, but since there was only one line and no guidance from staff, someone who came later cut in front of me. I didn’t mind using either counter, but being skipped in line doesn’t feel good. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was also large enough for my family to relax together. The breakfast buffet the next morning had a wide variety of options and featured a festive New Year’s theme that we enjoyed. It’s a hotel I would like to stay at again. Thank you very much!

    Convenient

    Parking is available, and the location near the station is convenient. There is a parking fee, but it is inexpensive. The building is old, but the Room was clean. Great value for money. I chose a Japanese set meal for breakfast. It was delicious.

    3 consecutive years of accommodation

    This is a reliable Hotel we stay at every year. While the bed's sagging and the aging toilet are concerning, the front desk answers calls promptly, and their response is excellent. I forgot to mention it this time before leaving, but the batteries in the bidet remote ran out, so I couldn't use it on the last day. The staff's service is great, so I'll make another Reservation! (laughs)

    Christmas dinner at its best!

    We booked an affordable accommodation plan without high expectations, but the Christmas dinner was incredibly delicious and very satisfying. The room was spacious, clean, and had a more subdued color tone than in the photos, which we appreciated. However, one disappointment was the breakfast buffet (Japanese and Western style). Items like rolled omelets, grilled fish, and simmered dishes were surprisingly cold—almost as if they had just come out of the refrigerator—which was unexpected during this chilly season.

    Great location!

    Located right in front of Miyakomichi inside Kyoto Station, this Hotel offers an excellent location, allowing you to enjoy Kyoto sightseeing until the very last moment before your Shinkansen departure. The Room was impeccably clean and comfortable. Drinking water is provided through a dispenser on each floor, making it surprisingly more convenient than bottled water as you can refill at any time.

    It was excellent.

    Older hotels often have issues with dust and mold in the rooms, but this Hotel was incredibly clean and spotless, which made me very happy! The staff's service was excellent, and I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much.

    Before the New Year

    I stayed here during a trip to the ancient capital before New Year's. The location, room, and breakfast were all very satisfying! Especially appreciated the affordable price near Kyoto Station. The room has been modernly renovated and is well-prepared with sufficient amenities. The buffet breakfast was not crowded and had plenty of variety and quality. I would love to stay here again when visiting Kyoto.

    I received an upgrade for my first stay.

    I had reserved a Premium Floor Twin, but I was upgraded to a Superior Room (31 sqm) at check-in and had a comfortable stay. The water pressure in the bathroom shower felt slightly weak, but I was satisfied with my first stay at Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo.

    Indeed excellent.

    Convenient location, attentive service, and excellent value for money. Check-in was smooth, possibly due to the timing. The Japanese-style breakfast, one of the reasons I chose this accommodation, was as great as ever. It had been a while since my last stay, and I noticed a new café in the basement specializing in coffee. It seems they also serve breakfast, so I’d like to try it next time. Thank you for upgrading my room. Next time, I’d like to try a room in the South Wing.

    Enjoy your Hotel Life

    I used the plan with 1-night stay and 2 meals included. I arrived at the Hotel early and had a half-buffet lunch at the on-site restaurant "Rondo." I was very satisfied with the deli-style salads and a variety of desserts. There was a line waiting for the 2:00 PM check-in, but thanks to the self-check-in machine, I was able to check in smoothly. My room was upgraded, and I enjoyed relaxing in a twin room with a great view. Dinner was a Chinese course meal at "Sichuan." Every dish was delicious, and they even checked my preference for spiciness in Mapo Tofu. After eating, I could return directly to my room to relax further. For breakfast, there were three restaurants to choose from, and I had a Japanese set meal at "Uoman." It felt like breakfast served at a Ryokan, which left me very satisfied. This plan allowed me to enjoy both Hotel gourmet dining and staying experience thoroughly. I would love to use it again—thank you!

    Quiet and pleasant

    I stayed for one night on Sunday in a double Room, which was more than enough for one person. Despite being right south of the station and facing the road, it was quiet. There is an Aeon Mall nearby, and many shops inside the station area, making it very convenient. I was also happy to stay at an affordable price this time.

    Christmas dinner is exceptional.

    I used the accommodation plan with a Christmas dinner. The dinner was excellent, beautifully presented, and delicious, making it very satisfying. This time, it was unfortunate that the room upgrade benefit for Diamond members was not available. It was probably because the hotel was fully booked. Last time, I stayed in an upgraded room. Overall, it is a very comfortable hotel, and I would like to stay again.

    It was my first stay in a long time, but...

    I was impressed by the Facility, truly befitting a long-established Hotel. I had used it quite some time ago, back when Business Hotels were not yet widespread, and I remember it giving the impression of being a more affordable version of Miyako Hotel. In an era where Hotels are abundant and Business Hotels are sprouting up like mushrooms after rain, I was pleasantly reminded of the well-maintained facilities and cleanliness of this traditional Japanese-origin Hotel. It left me feeling refreshed. I chose this place because I needed to stay near the station by chance, but now I feel confident about using it again in the future. While I understand that automated reception processes and staff responses are inevitable given both this Hotel's category and modern times, as someone from an older generation, there were moments when I felt inclined to be a bit demanding—this became a slight downside for me. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Couples' Getaway

    We stayed as an elderly couple and have used this accommodation multiple times. Now that we are older, we truly appreciated the excellent location and the subtle kindness of the staff. As expected from a long-established hotel, it was exceptional. We chose a plan with a 5 PM check-in and 10 AM check-out, which was more than enough to feel refreshed. We had an enjoyable trip.     The Christmas trees are beautifully decorated, and each one is stunning!! The atmosphere, the Hotel staff, and the food are all excellent. No matter how many times I visit, this Hotel is always wonderful. Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo is simply the best!!

    We have been continu...

    We have been continuing our family trips during the autumn foliage season for over 20 years, and for the past few years, we have been staying at this hotel. It is located very close to Kyoto Station, making it an excellent spot for sightseeing. This year, we stayed in two rooms that were connected by an interior door without needing to go out into the hallway—such a wonderful setup. The staff were courteous, and despite being a large hotel, it had a warm and familial atmosphere that made our stay very comfortable. Thank you again this year!
