    There are many good points, but...

    There were many good things. The restaurant served delicious dinner and breakfast, and the large Onsen bath was pleasant (although the outdoor bath was a bit hot), and it was nice that many things were free. A slightly disappointing aspect was that the open-air bath in the room was not very usable. It was just a bathtub placed on the balcony, and it felt like you had to fill it with water yourself. Since we stayed in the middle of winter, the balcony was extremely cold, and we didn't feel like going outside much. Lastly, the bed was very comfortable to sleep in, but I woke up in the middle of the night feeling itchy all over and realized I had been bitten a lot by something. My wife said, "Could it be mites?"

    Reminiscent of an overseas Resort Hotel

    It was a hotel just as the reviews described. The interior was clean, with a hint of aroma that gave a sense of an overseas resort hotel. The room was stylish and spacious, offering an ocean view with Sanshiro Island right in front. Since it has just been renovated, it is beautiful and relaxing. The restaurant staff guided us to our seats without any wait, and the toast drink was delicious (I chose a non-alcoholic option). The fish bones in the Acqua Pazza were removed, so you can enjoy your favorite part, and the special curry by Il Azzurri is recommended with lemon olive oil and grilled vegetable toppings. I was very satisfied with the staff's knowledge of the dishes and the many seasonings and dressings, which made for meals I couldn't make myself. The lounge also had drinks prepared, and I thought it was excellent. Next time, I would like to visit with my children. Thank you to all the hotel staff for providing a comfortable stay.

    The best Stays!

    As a travel enthusiast who has lived for half a century, this was the best property I have ever stayed at. An open atmosphere from the entrance. Beyond the lobby, there is a foot bath and the sea. The lounge offers draft beer, gin, whiskey, wine, and various soft drinks. You can watch the sunset while enjoying the foot bath. The room is spacious. You can also see the sunset from the open-air bath. Without any obstructions, the sense of unity with the sea is incredible! The food is excellent in both ingredients and taste. In the morning, you can order turban shell grilled in its shell, seafood dashi chazuke, panini, and soup. Since it was a multiple night stay, we received a ticket to order something special for dinner, and abalone and golden eye snapper were served right in front of us. Guests on a multiple night stay can use the lounge even when others are not around. A bottle of champagne is gifted for each night of stay from IKYU. It was an incredibly luxurious and refreshing trip. I will definitely come again! Thank you!

    A Reliable Izu Accommodation

    My first visit since the December menu started. It’s rare to find an Accommodation that prepares buffet dishes this thoughtfully. To highlight a few: the classic acqua pazza is simple yet full of flavor, with a rich broth from sea bream and shellfish—I recommend taking it early if you love good food. The original curry is also distinctive, with carefully chosen sides. The attention to detail in everything from salts and sauces to drink service really boosts satisfaction. Breakfast also showcases local production for local consumption beautifully: starting with tokoroten, then two turban shells. If you drink alcohol, try them with local craft beer—an adult taste with a pleasant bitterness. The dried fish depends on how it’s grilled, but I prefer the mirin-dried one; it’s plumper and juicier. Finish with mago chazuke—so satisfying. The terrace view is wonderful, and Nishi-Izu is packed with breathtaking scenery everywhere, so I highly recommend taking a walk around. The sunset is truly beautiful!! And on top of that, free drinks from check-in—Il Azzurri might be the closest place to heaven. I’ll be back!

    Everything was the best at this Stays!

    This is my first trip to Nishi-Izu! I booked this property seeking a spectacular view from the room and delicious meals! First, from the check-in lobby, the breathtaking view of the vast sea and islands brought cheers. I was surprised by the variety of welcome drinks, and during the stay, you can take them back to your room for free! Beer, wine, soft drinks, and several types of snacks like chocolate. The room is on the 6th floor, 92 square meters with four beds, a sofa, a kotatsu, a hammock, and an open-air bath, which was very exciting! Of course, the vast sea view from the room is spectacular. Since it's winter, I quickly went to the open-air bath on the balcony before sunset. It was cold, but enjoying the view of the vast sea was the best. Dinner was an Italian buffet, which was of unexpectedly high quality and variety, making it hard to choose, and the table was full of plates! I was also surprised by the free drinks. It was so delicious that I spent a full two hours, and even the variety of desserts at the end was abundant, with no shortcuts taken, making it a very satisfying buffet. I returned to the wonderful room full and relaxed. After a short rest, I went to the large public bath, which was also pleasant and relaxing. Breakfast was also a buffet with Japanese and Western dishes. There was a variety of sashimi, the classic grilled horse mackerel, freshly made Western set meals, and more! Of course, it came with free drinks. I was very satisfied again from the morning. In any case, even though the accommodation fee is not expensive, everything was fulfilling, and I was very satisfied, deciding to repeat in the summer next time. I have stayed at various expensive properties before, but this was the first time I was so satisfied at such a reasonable price! I was completely refreshed. I highly recommend it! I will definitely visit again.

    I was healed.

    This is my second stay following last year. Both my friend and I love alcohol, so we had a draft beer as soon as we arrived, and then headed straight to the bath! The open-air bath in the cold December wind is the best! This time, the room came with an onsen, so I lost count of how many times I took a bath. I went in quite a few times, haha. Also, the food was very delicious both in the morning and evening! The alcohol went down smoothly too. I was able to heal the fatigue of the year. Thank you very much. I would like to visit again next year!

    Perfect score.

    Exceptional value for money! The level of service and hospitality is so thorough that it makes you wonder how they manage to sustain the business. We were blessed with perfect weather, but due to a mix-up in our itinerary from Kansai, we missed the sunset. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the breathtaking views of the islands and stargazing in the open-air bath. The facility, which must have been old at some point, has been meticulously renovated with great attention to detail. With free-flow services and cheerful yet professional staff providing impeccable hospitality, this hotel feels like a perfect blend of a traditional Japanese Ryokan and an overseas Resort Hotel. Even though it’s free-flow style, you can sense the thoughtfulness behind every aspect—from meal options to drink selections and even how everything is presented—reflecting the dedication of their team. I would love to visit again in summer next time. Thank you very much!

    The staff and the Fa...

    The staff and the Facility were both very good. It was our first family trip and it became a very good memory. Our child was small, but we are grateful to the staff who provided excellent service. The wind was a bit strong and the bath was cold, but we will definitely come again at a different time.

    The lounge and break...

    The lounge and breakfast were very satisfying. Even if you're not a fan of alcohol, there was a wide variety, and the breakfast was not the usual buffet but had a unique touch, making it enjoyable. There were saunas in both large baths, and I wanted to use them, but it was disappointing that it was difficult to enter when it was dark, even during the available hours. The smell when I entered the room, was that the scent of the sea? The scent in the hotel lobby and elevator was calming, so I felt a slight sense of discomfort for a moment. If it's natural, it can't be helped, and I felt that the cleaning and maintenance were done carefully, so please don't worry about it.

    Perfect for our family.

    This time, we visited for a long-awaited trip with my parents and my middle school-aged son and daughter. I was a bit nervous after reading various reviews, as the most recent ones weren't very good, but I was relieved and comforted by the fresh and youthful yet polite service, and everyone's wonderful smiles. The family had a generally good impression, and my parents were pleased, which was a positive point. The room was clean, spacious, and convenient for the family to use. Although there were comments about the jacuzzi being too open, there was no problem as long as we wore the provided bathing suits. It was nice to enjoy foot baths with drinks and snacks from summer, and the view was fantastic! The basket and carafe to take to the room were cute, making it enjoyable to drink in the room without any hassle. My parents were in a good mood. Furthermore, we were very satisfied with both dinner and breakfast! The variety and taste were great, and since we weren't particular about Japanese cuisine, everything was delightful, and my parents liked it too. So, we definitely want to use it again.

    Although we arrived ...

    Although we arrived later than planned due to construction traffic, the gentleman at the front desk guided us to the parking lot and waited outside in the cold for us. He then provided detailed explanations, which made us feel warm and welcomed. The meal was Italian, and everything was delicious with a fantastic location. We enjoyed snacks, wine, and beer in the Room, and were very satisfied taking a bath while watching the starry sky. We would love to repeat our stay.

    Stay for Couples

    Overall satisfied. However, it was disappointing that the dinner buffet was limited to 80 minutes, making us feel rushed. The food was excellent, but we couldn't enjoy it at a leisurely pace. It's great that drinks are all-you-can-drink, but perhaps there could be more options for those who don't drink?

    The view is excellent.

    The view from the Room is amazing. I forgot the time while soaking in the bath. The Room was spacious, equipped with an air purifier, and very comfortable. The meals were delicious, especially breakfast, which scored quite high. It offered a variety of Japanese and Western dishes, all of which were tasty and very satisfying. I ended up eating too much. The only slight disappointment was dinner. Since breakfast was so well done, I would love to see a Japanese food corner for dinner instead of just Italian. Honestly, having only Italian was a bit monotonous. I believe children and the elderly would also be delighted.

    Delicious meals and barrel sauna

    First stay, all the staff were smiling and kind. The Italian buffet at night was all very delicious and impressive. The acqua pazza, meat, and tiramisu were wonderful. Furthermore, the free-flow drinks in the lounge and the drinks during meals were all delicious. The system to take them to the room was excellent! The large public bath, although the weather was not good, had a great view and was relaxing. However, the open-air bath was a bit hot. The barrel sauna was nice. I understood why it's not available at night. It's pitch dark. I really had a good sweat. I will definitely go again!

    Spectacular Sauna, Stays.

    This is my third time, but this time I stayed in a room with a sauna that wasn't available before. In a word, it's the best! All rooms have a great view, but being able to see the sunset, Dogashima, and the Tombolo phenomenon from the sauna is amazing! I also used the sauna in the large public bath, but the sauna attached to the room had a better view of the Tombolo phenomenon due to its location. The dinner and breakfast are not the typical menu you often find at an Izu property, so I personally liked it and was satisfied. The sangria served at dinner was very delicious, so I would be happy if it could be available as a free flow in the lounge, even if only at night. For breakfast, I was satisfied with just the Piatto Unico. The salt and cream received from Instagram posts had a very nice fragrance and high moisturizing power. The only thing I would like to see improved is that I would like the property to provide a phone number for guests to contact in case of an emergency. I felt very anxious because I didn't receive a reply even after emailing. Other than the email issue, I am very satisfied. I would like to stay in this room with a sauna again.

    It was our first stay with our one-year-old child, but we were able to spend our time comfortably without any inconvenience. The meals were buffet-style, and everything was delicious. Although the options for children were quite limited, there were still some available, and our child seemed to enjoy them, eating heartily. The high chair with a belt for children was helpful. The free-flow drinks mainly consisted of alcohol, but there were also juices available, so I think even children, those who are not fond of alcohol, or those who need to refrain from drinking can enjoy it. I wanted to try a cocktail, but as a beer enthusiast, I wasn't sure how to make one, which left me with a slight regret. The staff were very pleasant, responding with smiles from check-in to check-out. The room was one where you take off your shoes, so it was clean, and I had no worries about letting my child walk around. The open-air bath in the room was not an onsen, but it was nice to be able to enjoy it while looking at the sea. Since the property has been renovated, there were some minor areas where the old parts of the facility were visible, but most of them were not bothersome. I was surprised when the washlet in my toilet activated when someone in the adjacent stall activated theirs in the men's restroom on the first-floor lobby (laughs). There were many considerations for those with small children, so we were very satisfied. However, I also think that if we came as adults only, we could have fully enjoyed the charm of this hotel.

    On the morning of the stay, I was troubled by the phone being out of service.

    This time, it's a guide trip for foreigners. The foreigner is staying at an acquaintance's house, but since I can't stay without a bed, I made a reservation here alone. The room has an open-air bath and sauna, so I wanted to see inside. However, no matter how many times I called from 10 a.m., the voice message said it was a closed day today, and to contact after 9 a.m. on the 26th. But today is the 26th, and it's well past 9 a.m. Anyway, I received a reminder email from IKYU, so I headed to Dogashima around noon. Finally, I received a call from IKYU, and they replied that they didn't know why the phone wasn't answered. Anyway, when I went to the hotel at 3 p.m., it was open. When I asked why they didn't answer the phone, they just said, "We apologize." They also said that entry other than for stays is not allowed. Anyway, I left my luggage and went to the neighboring hotel's day-use bath with my friend, but no matter how good the subsequent service was, the wasted time worrying because the phone didn't connect won't come back. It might be due to a staff shortage, but please consider allowing messages to be left. This incident made it a property I don't want to visit again! Also, I mistakenly thought breakfast was until 10:30 a.m., and when I went at 9 a.m., they coldly said it was until 9:30 a.m. and started clearing the buffet. I quickly chose some items, but I wondered if there was a better way to say it. The breakfast staff showed no hospitality spirit. However, I am grateful to the staff who kindly accompanied me to the site when I said I forgot my iPad in the parking lot the night before.

    It was the best trip ever.

    I was finally able to stay at Il Azzurri, which I had been curious about, by making a Reservation six months in advance. Since there is a bath and sauna on the terrace, I checked in early and fully enjoyed the Room. The weather was nice, and I had a great view of Dogashima, which was fantastic. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were extremely delicious and very satisfying. I made the next Reservation as soon as I got back. I look forward to the day I visit again.

    It was my first stay...

    It was my first stay. I have stayed at several properties with a bath on the balcony, but the location of this hotel is the best. The sunset while soaking in the bath was wonderful. The large public bath also had two open-air baths with alternating access for men and women, which was satisfying. The ice cream after the bath was also appreciated. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were delicious, and I was very satisfied with repeated helpings. I would like to visit this hotel again in a different season.

    I stayed in Suite Ro...

    I stayed in Suite Room 602 on the top floor. The room was very spacious and clean for two people, but the shower room and the open-air bath attached to the room were separate, which was a bit inconvenient. Moreover, the open-air bath was fully visible from the road, and the shower room had no blinds on the windows, so it was also fully visible. I couldn't relax, but the large public bath was comfortable. For dinner, I personally couldn't eat meat, so the portion was small. The breakfast was Japanese-style with dishes like magochazuke, and it was delicious. I wished there was a vending machine. Although drinks are free until 10 PM, it was inconvenient as I ran out of water in the middle of the night. There were various rules, such as having to wear casual clothes in the restaurant, but overall it was clean and the view was nice. Thank you for taking care of us.

    With my daughter

    It was my first trip with my 5th-grade daughter to Shimoda. The reception staff were mostly young, efficient, and had wonderful smiles, providing excellent service. The ocean view from the open lounge was very pleasant, and enjoying the foot bath with free-flow drinks and snacks was the best! The open-air bath in the Room had some insect issues due to its openness, so we couldn't stay long, but the hospitality more than made up for it, and we felt very relaxed. Thank you for all the thoughtful gestures! Next time, we will visit with three people.

    Thank you to all the staff. I had a very relaxing time. The Facility may not be new. However, I could feel that it has been renovated and cleaned beautifully. The cuisine was also assumed to be qualitatively analyzed and was very good. I would like to stay again next spring. Regarding the place to stay, as a demanding guest, my wife plans to book a suite room for our annual trip to Miyakojima. Thank you very much.     A hotel with a high level of satisfaction beyond its price

    We stayed in a luxury ocean view room as a family of three. In every aspect, from the facilities to the services, it stood apart from the usual resort hotels, and there were no bad practices based on resort pricing prevalent in the surrounding area, making it a very pleasant experience. The staff, mostly young, were very attentive without being overly intrusive, which was appreciated. Since the dining options in the area are not particularly good, if you're not averse to Italian cuisine, having dinner at the hotel might be a more enjoyable experience. The view was excellent, and the sauna while watching the Tomporo phenomenon was superb. The only concern was the loud noise from the air conditioning, but it's a hotel I would like to visit again.

    The handling of the ...

    The handling of the check-in congestion was not great, and we had to wait quite a while. If that could be resolved, everything else would be perfect. The staff's attentiveness and greetings were excellent, and the food was delicious no matter what we ate, with the buffet being replenished immediately when something ran out. The large public bath seemed to be no different from other hot spring areas. The open-air bath in the room was very relaxing. The free-flow drinks and snacks were also very good.

    First, a word of criticism. At check-in, other guests were escorted to the elevator, but we were not. The difference in treatment by staff is critical. If you are going to guide, guide everyone. If not, then don't guide anyone to avoid making guests feel the difference. Also, the sofa in the room was dirty and smelled bad. I didn't feel like lying down on it at all. I felt that the sauna time in the large public bath was short, as it was only until 6 p.m. on the day of arrival. However, the view was nice and the sauna in the room was excellent. I was also happy to be able to take drinks from the lounge to the room, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I would like to visit again, but please do something about the sofa in the room by then!

    I stayed for two nights. Since the weather forecast wasn't great, I planned to relax at the hotel. I enjoyed drinks, including alcohol, and some snacks both in the room and the lounge, which was nice. The meals were buffet-style, so I honestly didn't have high expectations, but they were very delicious. On the second night's dinner, there was a special menu offered in addition to the buffet, which was a thoughtful touch. However, please do clean the air conditioner filters. There was quite a bit of dust accumulated in both the guest room and the large public bath. Other than that, as the title suggests, I thought the location and service were excellent.
