    Unfortunately

    Reservation made to coincide with a child's concert in Makuhari. We used the New Otani in Tokyo for dining, so we went without any worries. The room is old. The age is acceptable. Upon entering the bathroom and using the toilet, I noticed dirt on the lower inside part of the door, which seemed to have been neglected for years. There was dirt on the inner edge of the washbasin (visible when sitting on the toilet). When entering the bathtub, there was dirt on the wall. I thought it was a scratch, but when I touched it with my nail, it was black dirt. At first glance, it looks like the surface is cleaned nicely. However, dirt remains in corners, edges, and walls. It's disappointing for a city hotel to have such cleaning. There was nothing noteworthy about breakfast. There was a lack of fruits, and the rice and bread were disappointing. I was speechless when I saw a staff member adding rice to the rice cooker in front of me, on top of the remaining rice. I don't expect them to make shiny rice balls in front of me (there is a hotel in Ebisu that does that), but I want them to serve delicious rice properly. The front desk staff were polite and friendly, which was a passing grade. The room and breakfast were disappointing. The age is fine. I want them to clean thoroughly. I want them to improve the quality of breakfast.

    About the In-room Washroom

    The temperature control in the bathroom of the guest room was not working, and hot water came out every time. It returned to normal after about 3 minutes, but it happened every time. The next day, when I informed the female front desk staff at checkout, I was brushed off with a simple "sorry." I understand that Facility malfunctions are unavoidable, but the employee service has significantly declined compared to the past.

    A Nearby Resort

    I stayed for a little remote work as a change of pace. The Room was a corner one, but unfortunately, there was a tall building right in front, so the view was disappointing. However, it was spacious and comfortable. The building itself is old, but it's not too big or too small, just the right size. I was pleased with the amenities, which included coffee, tea, and plum kelp tea. It was nice that you could see a bit outside from the bath. The desk was large, and the Wi-Fi speed was sufficient, allowing me to work efficiently. I had meals at the Chinese restaurant and the teppanyaki. The muscat oolong tea I drank at the Chinese restaurant had a sweet aroma but was refreshing and not sweet in taste, making it a very delicious tea. The teppanyaki is recommended for its entertainment aspect. I enjoyed the chef's excellent cooking and delicious wine. It seemed to be a fair, as I could drink Dom Pérignon by the glass. This is rare, so I would like to try it again if I have the chance. A bell girl guided me, but I was unsure whether to tip or not. In Japan, it's usually unnecessary, but in a Ryokan, you do. (In the end, I didn't tip.) I think it's a Hotel where you can work and relax.

    Excellent hospitality.

    Although I had a negative experience with one staff member in Tokyo, my stay in Makuhari was excellent and satisfying. I would love to stay here again.

    This is my second st...

    This is my second stay. The room and bathroom are spacious and clean. The staff provided very courteous service during check-in, check-out, when requesting a humidifier, arranging a taxi, room service, and other interactions. We were nervous about my child's exam, but we were able to stay with peace of mind. The breakfast omelet and other items were delicious, but I would have been happier with a little more fruit. Thanks to you, we were able to pass the exam, so if we have to move or anything else comes up, we would like to stay again.

    If the Wi-Fi is comfortable, 5 stars

    The Room was spacious, the breakfast was very delicious, and the service generally felt attentive. However, there was one issue: the Wi-Fi in the guest Room was very weak and frequently disconnected, making it almost unusable. I called the front desk to discuss the Wi-Fi situation, but they simply said there was nothing they could do and did not offer any suggestions such as changing Rooms. This was the only disappointment in terms of Facility and service. (Even though it was late and I didn't intend to change Rooms, I felt that just being told there was nothing they could do was lacking. It might be a matter of feeling, but I would have appreciated at least being told they would check the equipment.)

    I stayed for two nights in different types of rooms due to a last-minute reservation. The staff kindly helped move my luggage to the room for the second night and took photos for me in front of the tree in the lobby, providing a pleasant service. The breakfast was delicious, but I would have liked some lighter vegetable dishes (not salads). Additionally, it would have been nice to have amenities like lotion. One disappointing thing was that there was a clearly visible hair under the made-up sheets.

    Hotel New Otani Makuhari, directly connected to Makuhari Messe

    After enjoying a live performance at Makuhari Messe, you can stay at a hotel directly connected to the venue, allowing you to relax without taking crowded trains. If you're attending the live performance the next day as well, this place is an oasis. Although staying overnight was not planned due to budget constraints, I found that I could stay from 5 PM to 12 AM check-in and check out by 11 AM the next day at a relatively budget-friendly price, so I decided to use it. The condition was to leave the room selection to the hotel, but I stayed alone in a spacious room prepared with twin beds for pairs. Amenities were well set. However, I thought it would be more convenient if there was a built-in charger. The hotel staff always greeted tired guests with a smile and kind words, as expected from a long-established hotel in Makuhari. Please continue to be an ally for those who enjoy live performances.

    Breakfast Onsen

    I had breakfast for the first time in the first-floor lounge. The omelet was as delicious as always. Unfortunately, the tray was arranged in the Japanese food corner, so I had to go back to get it, and since I was eating Western food, my plate quickly filled up. In the end, I carried it by hand, and the sushi roll was hard, which was disappointing. Chopsticks were in two places, and one place only had one chopstick? Why? I understand if there are two, but the staff replenished the spoons carelessly! That's disappointing. The picture on the hot water machine looked like tea, making it hard to understand. The Onsen hours felt too short. Next year, I definitely want to take my time and relax.

    A hotel that makes you want to use it again

    I use nearby Hotels for events several times a year, and not only is the location excellent, but the warm response from the staff was wonderful. The Room and amenities were well-equipped, allowing for a relaxing stay. I would love to stay again. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Check-in takes time.

    I have been staying during events at Makuhari Messe, and this is my fourth stay this year. Since check-in is not possible before 15:00, there is a line when I arrive at 15:00... Rules are rules, so it can't be helped, but it's stressful as time becomes tight before the event. I always think it would be nice if there could be some time difference based on the room level.

    Check-in at 3 PM and...

    Check-in at 3 PM and check-out at 11 AM offered a great rate for a short stay (usually, check-in at 2 PM and check-out at 12 PM). The Hotel had a calm atmosphere, and I enjoyed using both the bar and restaurant inside. Both were excellent. As for the Room, it was clean and comfortable.

    The room facilities and the interior of the building are quite old.

    Even though I chose a rather expensive Room, I was surprised at how small the TV was, and it couldn't even connect to a smartphone, which is common these days. The bathroom was also quite questionable in terms of hygiene, as the toilet was right next to the shower. More money should be spent on the Facility; it feels like it's relying solely on its brand name. It's disappointing.

    It was pleasant.

    This is my several stay. It was mainly for attending an event, so I just slept there, but the response from the woman at the front desk during check-in was good. I was on the 20th floor, and the water pressure in the shower, etc., was adequate, which was impressive in a way. I would like to use it again when staying in Makuhari.

    I was able to relax very much!

    I used it for the first time for a 2-night, 3-day stay. Due to the hotel's circumstances, my room was changed to one two ranks higher than the one I had reserved. It was very spacious and clean, and I was able to spend my time leisurely. There was no trash bag in the room, so when I called the front desk, they said it was okay to put it in directly, but I was concerned, so I bought a bag from the convenience store and put the trash in it. It would be helpful if you could provide trash bags in the room. Also, I would like you to improve the fact that the faucet in the washroom makes a squeaky sound every time you turn it. Other than that, it was very good, so I would like to use it again. Thank you very much!!

    Close to the station and had a comfortable stay.

    Since our itinerary was late at night, it was convenient that it was a 5-6 minute walk from Kaihin-Makuhari Station. As expected from New Otani, the Room was spacious, and we were provided with a Room with a wonderful view of Tokyo Bay, allowing us to enjoy the evening scenery before going out at night. At the breakfast buffet, the Danish pastries were particularly delicious. The morning newspaper service was also appreciated, and I will use it again when visiting Chiba Prefecture. Thank you very much.

    Bathroom cleaning

    The cleaning of the bath was sloppy, and there were hairs from the previous guest in the bathtub, which was very unpleasant. It makes me question other aspects of hygiene. It's disappointing.

    I was really looking...

    I was really looking forward to staying at such a nice Hotel, as I don't usually have the opportunity to do so. Although it was only for one night, the Room was spacious and clean, which was impressive, and I enjoyed the night view. However, the shower in the bathroom was a bit difficult to use. I had cake at the lounge on the first floor in the afternoon, and it was very delicious. The staff at the front desk, cloakroom, and lounge were all very kind. I would definitely like to stay here again when I come to Chiba!

    Soundly

    I stayed for the LIVE. I had booked a nearby hotel, but I had mistaken the venue, and it was a bit far from the venue. After the LIVE, I was tired, and walking made my feet hurt. However, the night was very quiet, and I slept well. I was pleased that I couldn't hear the sound from the next room or the hallway. As expected from the Okura Group. Once I got into bed, I slept soundly until morning and felt refreshed. On the way back, I bought some bread. Both the Kouign-amann and the heart-shaped pie were delicious. Next time, I would like to have a meal as well.

    Odor from the drainpipe.

    The bathroom was so smelly that it made for an unpleasant stay. I understand that the Facility is old, but the lack of basic maintenance is not what I would expect from Otani. I mentioned this at checkout, but they just said sorry without even checking how bad it was. I will never stay at Otani again.

    I stayed with the Relaxing Plan. The spa was private, and I could use the bath, massage chair, and enjoy unlimited drinks. It was very clean and relaxing. The room was on a high floor with a great view and was spacious. The hospitality was excellent, and whenever I wandered around, everyone immediately offered help. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and I ate too much. Everything was of the quality expected from New Otani. It's a hotel I definitely want to stay at again. Thank you for a very satisfying stay.

    I used it for the first time.

    Staying at hotels is a hobby of mine, and I enjoy it in various places. Being my first time at Hotel New Otani, my expectations for this long-established hotel were high. I arrived earlier than the check-in time, so I headed to the bell desk to leave my luggage and explore the surroundings. However, even as I approached, no one spoke to me, so I had to ask, "Is it okay to leave my luggage here?" to an older person who seemed to be a chief or something near the desk. When I mentioned that I was staying, I was handed a number tag, and they only checked for fragile items before taking my luggage away. I was a bit surprised when I asked, "Is that all?" and received a response of "It's fine" without even turning around. I felt a bit uncomfortable, wondering if they were too accustomed to customer service due to being a long-established hotel. I thought it was a shame, as depending on the response, I might have become a regular in the future. However, the young staff members were all pleasant and their earnestness was evident, which cleared away any unpleasant feelings. The superior room with a bay window offering a view of the sunset allowed me to experience a brief escape from the ordinary. Thank you for taking care of me.

    It was good.

    I stayed for one night because I found it troublesome to go home. I was satisfied with the spacious and relaxing environment. It was a pity that the water pressure in the shower was weak. Other than that, I am satisfied.

    Near Makuhari Messe

    It takes a bit of a walk from the station, but it was very convenient being close to Makuhari Messe. The Room was clean and spacious enough. All the staff were pleasant and provided a comfortable service.

    The children were also very satisfied.

    We had a Child Sharing Existing Bedding, and the Property kindly responded to our emails before our stay by placing the bed against the wall. They also provided a bed guard on the other side to prevent falls, allowing us to stay with peace of mind. The Room had some parts that felt old, but it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Enjoying Netflix on the iPad with the children on the sofa was also a great memory. The view of the sea from the Room, with the sunset and the sparkling morning water, was truly moving! At SATSUKI, we purchased a super melon shortcake and borrowed tableware through room service to enjoy it in the Room! We were grateful for the suggestion from the staff at SATSUKI. Although we couldn't eat as much as we thought at the breakfast buffet, the omelet made on the spot was incredibly delicious! There were Asian dishes like pho and shumai, and some dishes you could warm up yourself, which the children enjoyed. There was plenty of time until checkout, allowing us to relax. There was an outlet and shopping mall within walking distance, with many restaurants, so we had dinner outside. A convenience store was also nearby, making it very convenient. This time, we went with the sole purpose of a Hotel stay, without any other plans like Disney, and we were very satisfied with the quiet and leisurely experience. We definitely want to visit again!

    The facilities are old.

    I think it used to be a nice room, but it's quite old now, the sink drains poorly, and the bathtub was difficult to use. In terms of service, we ate in the room and asked to borrow some soy sauce, but they said it wasn't possible. That was disappointing. As for amenities, I was told that women's skincare products are available upon request, so I asked for them, but there were two razors provided even though there were two women staying, which I didn't quite understand. The sparkling wine and late checkout were very nice. But if those are the only benefits at this price, I might look elsewhere next time.
