    Whenever I stay in Makuhari, this is the place I choose! I’ll definitely stay here again.

    The breakfast was terrible.

    I stayed for two nights, but only about five items changed; the rest was the same as the previous day. There were many egg dishes (Onsen egg, boiled eggs, rolled omelet, scrambled eggs, and omelets), and for some reason there were also yudofu and takoyaki. For rice options, there were white rice, brown rice, and rice porridge, plus kama-age udon and ramen. There were also items that seemed like frozen foods such as broccoli and mango, hash browns, and shrimp dumplings. There were salads, granola, bread, etc., but the quality did not feel like a Hotel breakfast. The service was good, which made it very disappointing.

    A bit dated...

    Compared to my stay about 15 years ago, signs of age were more noticeable. Although the Room was old, it was clean and felt comfortable. However, I would suggest refurbishing the elevator interior, as it feels like one of the Hotel’s “faces.”

    It was great.

    I stayed for one night to attend a live concert at Makuhari Messe. I had made a Reservation for a single room, but they upgraded me to a twin, and I had a very comfortable stay. The Facility felt a little old, but I thought it couldn’t be helped. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options—I wished I had come with more of an appetite. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were also very thoughtful.

    The Room was comfortable.

    The Room was comfortable. It is an older Hotel, but it was very functional and I had a pleasant stay. I requested nail clippers and a sewing kit, and they brought them to me right away. Thank you. Regarding the service, As expected from a well-known Hotel, overall it was good, but there was one issue. I ordered room service, but the staff member who delivered it had a sulky attitude, which was unacceptable. It made me uncomfortable, so I only used room service once. Regarding the food, I ate sushi and tendon at the Japanese restaurant, and everything was very delicious. However, the dinner buffet didn’t really suit my taste. I think that may simply be a matter of personal preference. Regarding laundry service, Is it really appropriate for the laundry service to be closed three days a week? I understand it is outsourced, but it felt like too many days off.

    Overall, low quality.

    I stayed here because there was an event nearby. Since it was an early-booking No Meals Included Plan, I didn’t expect much, but I chose this place for the sense of security that comes with a long-established hotel. However, it was far below my expectations and very disappointing. The Room did not feel clean. In the bathroom, there was a clump of hair left behind, and there was also hair in the bathtub. When I turned the faucet handles, black mold came out from the gaps, which shocked me. Later, after looking up photos of other rooms, I felt there is a significant difference between the cheaper Plan rooms and the more reasonably priced ones. Why not renovate all rooms? The plumbing fixtures were far too old—dirty and genuinely difficult to use. I also think separate top-and-bottom pajamas would be better than a one-piece loungewear set. It was cold, so I requested an extra blanket, but it was brought in a crumpled mess, which was unbelievable. The staff also seemed unfriendly (especially the men). Since my stay was No Meals Included, I made a separate Reservation for the teppanyaki restaurant upstairs, but it wasn’t particularly good either—just expensive. Unless there is a major renovation, I don’t think I will stay here again.

    I was able to spend a relaxing, unhurried time, but...

    I was able to relax. Although it isn’t new, everything was attentive and well taken care of.\nHowever, the shower was a bit hard to figure out, and I wasn’t sure whether the water pressure was weak or I was using it incorrectly. I finally understood how to use it on the third day.\nIt wasn’t easy to grab something casual to eat. In this day and age, I think it would be helpful if there were a convenience-store-style shop in the Hotel where you can easily buy food. Since I stayed for a live event, the nearby Daily Yamazaki was closed at times, so I had trouble finding something to eat at night.

    A Scent of Tradition

    It truly felt like a first-class Hotel. However, some signs of age-related wear are becoming noticeable in places, so I would appreciate a thorough check down to the details. I used room service for both breakfast and dinner, and the staff member in charge was pleasant and left a very good impression. The front desk staff seemed a bit cold.

    I have stayed at various hotels before, but the breakfast at this Hotel is No.1. It was absolutely delicious! There was a good variety, and both the fruits and bread were incredibly tasty. If I get the chance, I would love to come back for breakfast again.

    It was great.

    Stayed again for an event following last month. This time, I was able to stay in a spacious room, which was great, but perhaps due to the busy holiday season, some cleaning seemed a bit careless. It was nice to relax and enjoy tea in the lounge. The staff were excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. I would like to stay here again during future events.

    The winter sunsets were magnificent.

    This was my first time staying at the accommodation, though I had visited several times for meals. Despite being the last day of the New Year holiday, the hotel was not overly crowded, allowing for a comfortable stay. The highlight was undoubtedly the view from the high floors on the ocean side. Blessed with good weather, I thoroughly enjoyed the stunning gradient of colors across the sky and sea, along with Mount Fuji from dusk to after sunset. Although over 30 years have passed since its opening and there is a sense of age in some room interiors, features like spacious marble-tiled bathrooms with separate shower booths and bathrobes provided a nostalgic yet luxurious experience. However, noticeable brown stains on parts of the floor around areas like toilets detracted from an overall sense of cleanliness. Another point that stood out was how lighting adjustments in rooms were somewhat inconvenient. A single switch controlled everything from entrance lights to those near dressers and closets, making it impossible to fine-tune lighting except by bedside controls. This lack of flexibility felt more akin to a business hotel than luxury accommodation. Regarding meals: this review pertains specifically to breakfast included in our plan—a buffet at "SATSUKI." While lunch at their Chinese restaurant Taikan-en matched stellar experiences I've had in Tokyo or Osaka (5-star quality), breakfast fell short. Aside from an omelet station worth noting, offerings such as self-serve ramen or udon noodles and freshly made rice balls leaned heavily toward carb-heavy options that quickly filled you up without much variety in vegetables beyond salads. With rising food costs affecting buffets everywhere—not just here—this lineup wasn’t particularly impressive unless included within your stay plan; paying ¥5,000 separately wouldn’t feel justified compared to ¥3,500 for NOC members' pricing which seemed reasonable but still not compelling enough for repeat visits solely based on breakfast quality alone.

    The service was truly excellent.

    This was my first trip without my husband, and I stayed here. Although it was a non-smoking Room, there was a slight smell that bothered me, so I contacted the staff and received a significant upgrade. The staff were incredibly kind, and when I was worried about not being able to board the bus because of my child being fussy, they calmly reassured me with kind words. Thanks to them, we made it to the airport safely! The location is excellent, and my children said they want to come back again—it became an unforgettable memory for us! Thank you so much!

    It was great.

    I stayed for one night during an event at Makuhari Messe. Since I arrived at night, I got lost trying to find the front desk from the entrance (it wasn’t the main entrance). I regret arriving late as there were no staff around to ask for directions, which would have been possible during the day. The front desk staff were great, but they didn’t explain where breakfast was served. I had to ask myself, and since not all guests are repeat visitors, it would be helpful if this information was provided upfront (especially because the Hotel is large). The Room was clean, spacious, and had a very comfortable bed—it was excellent! Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options that left me completely satisfied. Although I felt a bit confused initially, my stay turned out to be wonderful. I will definitely stay here again when attending events in Makuhari. Thank you!

    The bathroom has an ammonia smell...

    It was a very disappointing stay. There was an ammonia smell coming from the toilet. Especially when using the bathtub, while soaking in the water, perhaps because my head was lower, the smell became even stronger. I was surprised by the ammonia odor in the bathroom at a hotel of this class. I also noticed a thin layer of dust on the bottled water in the room, which bothered me. Was it a room that hadn't been cleaned for several days? Regardless of room rank, I had expected proper hospitality from New Otani, so it was very disappointing.

    I enjoyed a relaxing...

    I enjoyed a relaxing stay with first-class accommodation and hospitality. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and the staff guided me to my seat, allowing for a leisurely meal. For dinner, I chose the hotel's sushi restaurant as I wanted to dine at my own pace. Both the taste and service were exceptional, though it was quite expensive, which slightly affected my rating—understandably so. Since I stayed for an event, having such a comfortable experience was truly helpful. Thank you very much!

    It was a great value, but...

    The metal part of the handle on the heat-resistant glass cup still had a bandage stuck to it, presumably left by a previous guest. The bathroom had dirt around the metal drain and tile grout, which came off when scrubbed with a used toothbrush. It was appreciated that the staff kindly carried my luggage to the room out of concern for my condition. Reserving conveniently at a good price through IKYU.com sometimes results in being assigned to rooms with low occupancy rates and insufficient cleaning. This happened not only at Akasaka Monterey but also at Hotel Okura, which was unexpected. I will no longer stay at either hotel, and my trust in IKYU.com has also been shaken.

    Perfect for a relaxing adult getaway

    The spacious and well-cleaned Room allowed us to relax comfortably. The croissants at breakfast were so delicious that we enjoyed them for three consecutive days. We also appreciated the free shuttle bus exclusively for the Hotel, which took us to the Disney Resort! From check-in to check-out, the staff's attentive care and excellent service made our trip enjoyable. My husband was very satisfied, and it became a wonderful celebration of his 60th birthday. Thank you very much!

    A calm and traditional Hotel

    This was my first stay as I attended the Messe event for consecutive days. Rather than having a trendy vibe like international hotels, this accommodation offered a sense of security with excellent traditional Japanese service. The view from the room was fantastic, and waking up with the sunrise was very pleasant. I chose a breakfast-included plan and enjoyed the meal; I especially appreciated that they made rice balls fresh on the spot. From classic dishes to hotel-style options, I had more than enough to eat. The only downside in the room was that the bathtub stopper seemed worn out—it wouldn't close properly unless stepped on firmly, causing me to lose one round of filled water... Other than that, it was an entirely satisfying stay!

    Conveniently located, clean, tidy, and trustworthy Hotel.

    In mid-November, we stayed for one night as a parent and child due to an event at the nearby ZOZO Marine Stadium. Coming from Tokyo, we wanted to relax after the event, so we searched for a Hotel last minute and found only the "No Meal Smoking Junior Suite Twin (Twin)" available. Although it was expensive, we decided to stay since it's rare to experience a Junior Suite Room. The Hotel is close to JR Kaihin-Makuhari Station. While there is no convenience store within the Facility, there are plenty nearby, so it was not inconvenient. The Room was spacious and beautiful—so much so that one night felt too short! With separate bedroom and living areas, it offered a luxurious atmosphere. The bathroom had a shower booth for convenience and even featured a small window for an open feel. Bathrobes were provided along with plenty of towels. Amenities were well-stocked, including welcome bath salts subtly placed as souvenirs. The interior design had a modern Japanese-inspired style with elegant furniture and decor. Storage space was excellent. Complimentary water, tea, coffee, an espresso machine, multiple cups hygienically wrapped in plastic—all were provided thoughtfully. The Room also included two TVs, a refrigerator, an air purifier with disinfectant spray available as well as reliable internet access. Nightwear was provided too; the bed's comfort ensured restful sleep. Even inside the toilet area had its own handwashing sink—a convenient touch! The washroom and powder room featured stylish marble-like finishes while air conditioning controls were user-friendly. The ocean view from our window was stunning; blackout curtains worked perfectly with their heavy-duty quality adding elegance to the space. However—as only smoking Rooms were available—the smell lingered in both our Room & hallway which might be challenging for non-smokers like us but otherwise everything else exceeded expectations! Morning newspapers delivered added thoughtful service alongside smooth late checkout allowing relaxed preparation time before departure arrangements handled efficiently by kind staff ensuring luggage delivery home seamlessly organized! Seasonally festive decorations such as large beautifully adorned Christmas trees graced lobby spaces enhancing overall ambiance further complemented by attentive professional hospitality making this stay truly satisfying experience worth repeating especially given prime location walking distance proximity towards ZOZO Marine Stadium itself ideal amidst varying temperatures strong sea breezes requiring appropriate clothing adjustments accordingly recommended future visits anticipated eagerly ahead!

    Used during a Disney trip.

    It was our first time staying at Hotel New Otani Makuhari. We stayed as a group of five, including my parents and my family, for a two-day Disney trip. From the warm welcome to the assistance with our luggage, the staff were friendly and engaging even while helping us load our bags. During check-in, they noticed our address and chatted with us in such a pleasant way that it made us happy. The service was excellent, and we’ve decided as a family to stay at this hotel for future Disney trips. The Room was spacious and clean, which delighted the kids. They especially loved the cute toothbrush amenities provided for children! The parking lot was large and convenient to use as well. We had an amazing trip overall! However, since we returned late on both days, we missed out on trying the desserts that many others have recommended in their reviews—especially the Mont Blanc I wanted to try so much! Next time for sure! Thank you very much!

    The Room was spaciou...

    The Room was spacious and comfortable. The water-related Facility is a bit outdated, with separate taps for hot and cold water, making it difficult to adjust the shower temperature and inconvenient to temporarily stop the hot water. Overall, I am satisfied.

    The selection was original and abundant, including items like rice balls and fried horse mackerel. During my 3-night stay, I had breakfast twice, and even the Danish pastries I couldn't finish looked delicious. It was convenient as the concourse was directly connected to the Messe.
