Renovation Work Begins on the Private Scenic Open-Air Bath “Koyuden”

We would like to share some good news, and also offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by upcoming construction.
This winter, our top-floor panoramic private open-air Onsen will be renewed.
Our private open-air Onsen has been enjoyed by many guests over the years. With the hope that even more guests can relax in Ogoto Onsen while taking in views of Lake Biwa—comfortably and with greater ease for everyone—we will be creating a new universal-design private open-air Onsen.
We especially hope it will allow families with small children, expectant mothers, guests using wheelchairs or those who feel unsteady on their feet, and anyone wishing to spend precious time with family or friends who love Onsen to unwind at leisure while enjoying the presence of Lake Biwa.
The new facility is scheduled to open on December 5. Until then, there will be no private open-air Onsen available at Kikunoya during the construction period.
In addition, due to work on the top floor, scaffolding must be installed near guest Rooms. We deeply regret that this may obstruct the view from Lake Biwa–side Rooms and sincerely apologize.
At the same time, construction will also take place in the shared corridor on the first floor; partitions will be installed and some sections of the corridor will be narrower.
Please accept our apologies for these inconveniences as well.
Construction work will be carried out during daytime hours when guests are not present whenever possible, and all staff will do our utmost to ensure your comfort.
