A member of the Japan Association of Secluded Hot Spring Inns, an "Accommodation to Revitalize Your Mind and Body".

Surrounded by the natural beauty of Setouchi, we offer you a tranquil and warm retreat. Our lobby lounge, filled with natural light, features a terrace with a foot bath. Rooms are intentionally designed without televisions to provide an escape from daily life and allow for true relaxation. Our pride is the Onsen, offering rare high-concentration radon hot springs directly sourced and flowing continuously. Experience alternating hot and cool baths to promote circulation, relieve fatigue, and refresh both body and mind. The mildly alkaline water is gentle on the skin with beautifying effects, enriched with minerals from ancient geological layers—enjoy this "ancient Onsen" at your leisure. The lounge includes a mini-library where you can explore carefully selected books or try glass pens paired with Sailor Ink made in Hiroshima/Kure at your convenience. At dusk, admire the twilight over Seto through large windows; by nightfall, relax by the soft flicker of our bioethanol fireplace. Throughout our facility, you'll find wallpaper crafted from local textile company paper cloth (Shifu) as well as works by Japanese washi artist Eriko Horiki—designs that harmonize beautifully with regional culture. At the "Hidamari Counter" next to the lobby, enjoy complimentary drinks or sample local spirits; in the evening, savor special late-night snacks prepared by our chef.

  • We decided to take a family trip after seeing a YouTuber’s video. When you open the Room door, straight ahead is a fixed center window with an unobstructed ocean view. It’s a refreshing scene where the blue sea and blue sky feel as if they blend into one.For three of us, the staff prepared two beds plus a futon in the tatami corner. We rested very comfortably. The Onsen information explained that the source water is lukewarm, and that alternating between the mist sauna and the regular-temperature Onsen is effective, so we tried it.Dinner was a course meal.Because we made an all-inclusive Reservation, it applied during meals as well—we enjoyed wine and beer, of course, and even the apple juice was delicious. The presentation was beautiful, and we had freshly baked bread with olive oil.Breakfast was titled “Mom’s Breakfast,” and in the kitchen all of the women were working energetically.Having freshly cooked rice served straight from the pot was especially delicious. There was also a morning yoga class, which we joined.Even though it was mostly gentle poses, I sweated an incredible amount during the lesson. And after loosening up comfortably, it was time for another dip in the lukewarm source Onsen! The lounge offered sake tasting and a coffee machine as well, and for late-night snacks we had curry. There’s actually no TV in the Room, but we didn’t miss it at all.An aroma set with a wood-themed design was provided in our Room too, which also felt very relaxing. The Facility throughout the building was spotless. You can choose from samue loungewear, pajamas, or T-shirts for indoor wear—many guests paired pajama bottoms with a T-shirt as their outfit around the property.I kept thinking “I want to go again!” but since it takes five hours by car from our home, we won’t be able to visit for a while. Still, this is an Accommodation I’d love to return to.I hope this helps others.

  • This was my first stay at Etajimaso. As it is a member of the Japan Association for the Protection of Secluded Hot Springs and offers free-flowing natural Onsen, I chose this place to relax in the Onsen while also celebrating my birthday.I felt soothed from the very first welcome drink—sparkling wine.At the sunny counter, Hiroshima sake, wine, soft drinks, coffee, and tea were available,so you can unwind at your own pace with a drink whenever you like. There were also snacks such as cookies and chocolates, as well as fresh local vegetables, which was wonderful. There was even miso; I enjoyed it with cucumber sticks—it was delicious. After bathing, I poured some into a shot glass and enjoyed it outside in the garden while taking in the fresh air.The baths are salt-spring water, and alternating between the hot bath and the lukewarm bath (cold spring) is said to be effective.Since it was already a hot day, the lukewarm bath (cold spring / almost like water) felt especially refreshing. Although it’s a salt spring, it didn’t feel sticky. The open-air bath was also very pleasant—true to a seaside salt spring—and I even saw crabs walking around in the courtyard in front of it.Towels are provided in the changing area as well, so you don’t need to bring towels from your Room, which I personally really appreciated. There is no TV in the Room, creating a space where you can truly relax at ease. From the large window in my Room, I could see the coastline stretching out before me and a small island offshore with a red torii gate floating nearby.Apparently you can cross over only when the tide is out; if timing works out next time, I’d love to go.This time I chose a Room with a shower as well—but honestly didn’t need it (lol). Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. At dinner dessert came with a message on the dessert plate—I really appreciated that thoughtful touch. And of course I also enjoyed the staff meal served from 10:00 p.m.; it was hearty beef hayashi rice with generous pieces of meat.I’ll be back when I feel like slowing down again.Thank you very much.

Experience the rare "Ancient Onsen" with natural free-flowing hot spring water available only here.

Our Onsen features a rare radon hot spring with a natural source temperature of approximately 30°C. With a high concentration of 11.8 Mach radon, this unique spring water is known to promote blood circulation, relieve fatigue, and enhance skin beauty. Indulge in the "ancient Onsen" that flows from geological layers formed 120 million years ago. Enjoy various bathing options including indoor baths, open-air baths, reclining baths, and steam saunas. Additionally, semi-open private baths are available on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the main building for a more personal experience. The bathhouse ceiling is adorned with an artwork inspired by the moon, created by Japanese washi artist Eriko Horiki. The enchanting light resembling a full moon reflected on water creates a soothing atmosphere. After your bath, unwind in our exclusive lounge. At night, it transforms into "Night Bar," where you can savor cocktails and drinks crafted by our veteran bartender.

We offer ingredients sourced locally with a focus on sustainability.

Pass through a corridor inspired by the seagrass meadows, known as the "cradle of the sea," and you'll find our restaurant, "Locavore." The name combines "local" and "vore," meaning to eat food sourced locally. Etajima, surrounded by the sea and mountains, is a treasure trove of fresh ingredients. Our course meals feature seasonal ingredients from Etajima, directly sourced from local producers. These are crafted into unique dishes using French and Japanese culinary techniques—available only at Etajimaso. Enjoy our signature "Etajima French Dinner," made with abundant local ingredients, and a breakfast themed around "Island Mother's Home Cooking."
