    Group guests from overseas,

    Everything was wonderful, but most of the guests around the Room where I stayed were foreigners. Until around midnight, many of them kept their doors open and talked loudly. As a result, I was repeatedly woken up. This incident was very disappointing.

    Thank you very much.

    We had a very enjoyable stay, with great views, attentive service, and a clean room. We also felt this Hotel is very welcoming to families with small children. If possible, we would have appreciated having separate seating areas during meals for families with children and other guests. Since the concept is a Hotel that children can enjoy as well, this is simply our personal preference. In any case, we think it’s a Hotel you can enjoy in every season—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—and we would love to visit again.

    We had a great time!!

    For this price, it was more satisfying than we expected!! We went back and forth to the play area many times, and the kids were thrilled. The unique playground equipment and unusual rides made our time there even more exciting with experiences you can only have here. Check-in took a very long time, so it would be helpful for families with children if it could be made a bit more efficient.

    The lounge was excellent.

    I stayed in a Room with access to the executive lounge and used it. The lounge was excellent, with a calm atmosphere and a good variety of snacks. The Room was spacious and easy to use, but I was disappointed that the cleaning was not thorough. I noticed hair in the toilet and washroom. I would appreciate it if a shower cap were included in the amenities.

    A Hotel for Families with Young Children

    We stayed as a couple in an Executive Twin. The spacious Executive Room with a view of Mt. Fuji was very comfortable. The front desk and lounge staff were also considerate and helpful. However, we were looking forward to the all-inclusive plan, but the Executive Lounge closes once at 6:00 PM, so there are times when you can’t do things like have a beer after a bath. It reopens at 9:00 PM, but it gets very crowded with guests after dinner, making it difficult to find a seat. Also, the Häagen-Dazs ice cream that was available from 3:00–6:00 PM had already been discontinued, so we couldn’t have any. The bath area was spacious as well, but since there were many families with children, it was noisy at night and we couldn’t relax. If you want a quiet soak, morning is recommended. This Hotel is geared toward families with small children and offers services specialized for that audience; if you understand that in advance, I think it’s a good Hotel to stay at.

    It was the perfect accommodation for a trip with children.

    This trip was planned for our children to enjoy, and the setting was wonderful. The play areas encouraged them to try things they had previously been afraid of, and at mealtimes they were able to eat foods they usually dislike. We could also see the starry sky, and the kids were thrilled. There were meals for babies as well, which made it appealing to visit with less luggage. We would love to stay again.

    Noisy

    It was disappointing that our Room did not face Mt. Fuji. We often saw toddlers crying and screaming. The large public bath did not feel clean, so we decided not to use it. In the lounge, the only thing that tasted good was the beer you could open yourself.

    Thank you very much. This was our first trip since our baby was born. As our child is still an infant, we couldn’t fully enjoy everything the Hotel has to offer, but we were able to make wonderful travel memories. Dinner and breakfast were so enjoyable that it felt like there wasn’t enough time, and we had many delicious dishes. Since the dining venues were split into two locations, we even found ourselves wishing we didn’t have to spend time going back and forth. At check-in, we received a dinner number, and I assumed it indicated the order of guidance—so when we arrived a little after the scheduled time, service had already started. The next morning, remembering what happened the day before, we made sure to line up before the time. Due to our circumstances, we also used the bath in our Room. However, it was a bit difficult to use because the bathtub was deep and it was hard to get the shower direction right. The next morning we used the Onsen instead—it was spacious and very comfortable. There were many families with children staying here, so once our child is a little older, we would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The view was great, but...

    The Accommodation was very good, but I was disappointed that the Wi-Fi was not easy to use during my 3-night stay. I would like to stay again next time. I would appreciate it if you could make the Wi-Fi easier to use, such as by allowing access with a password.

    The view was beautiful and very relaxing.

    From the rooftop observation deck, we enjoyed beautiful mountain views and felt very relaxed. The Hotel was clean throughout, so we felt comfortable and at ease during our stay. However, we found the buffet and lounge offerings a little disappointing.

    We thoroughly enjoyed the all-inclusive experience.

    I stayed on May 7. I’ve used Mercure several times, but this was my first time at Yatsugatake and I was really looking forward to it. Room / View From my Room on the 5th floor facing Mt. Fuji, I could enjoy a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji—it was a truly moving moment. Well-equipped lounge After washing off in the large public bath before dinner, I relaxed in the lounge. In addition to two kinds of draft beer (Asahi and Kirin), there was also an excellent selection of wines, which helped me unwind after a long journey. Dining / System The system that lets you register for dinner check-in via LINE is extremely convenient, as they call you when it’s your turn. There are two restaurants with different menus, so you never get bored. Food Alongside familiar, reliable dishes common to other Mercure properties, they also offered local specialties using regional ingredients such as hoto noodles, which added to the enjoyment. Breakfast also had a wide variety of options and was very delicious. Activities At night, there was a guided stargazing session on the rooftop, which made me very happy. I would definitely like to visit again.

    Wonderful time for three generations

    This time, our son’s family from Osaka—two children aged 4 and 8 months—and we grandparents stayed together as three generations. With the play equipment, lounge, and Onsen, we were able to spend a busy and enjoyable time. We would love to come again, and we plan to stay here again for our once-a-year family reunion.

    I stayed here with my 2-year-old child.

    Everything—from the Facility activities to the meals—was satisfying even for our children. However, when dining with kids, we barely made it in time because the restaurant has a time limit. It would have been nice to have a clock in the bath area.

    Compared to before

    This Accommodation is excellent for families with children. A new forest lounge has been added, offering plenty to enjoy. Regarding meals, I noticed there is now a time limit that wasn’t in place before, and the selection of hand towels and tea seemed to have been downgraded. However, overall we were satisfied. I called in advance with a question, and the staff were very kind and helpful on the phone.

    The service has gotten worse.

    Unsanitary, with a poor-quality crowd. Even though I paid an extra fee for an extra bed, it was just a sofa bed.

    Well-equipped for children, but the Accommodation’s core comfort and dining need improvement.

    [Overall] While the kid-friendly offerings—such as the play area and planetarium—felt like a great improvement, there were unacceptable shortcomings in the basics expected of a Hotel (sleep, dining, and amenities). [Guest Room] The curtains are not blackout; there are only thin curtains and non-blackout blinds. The Room became bright early in the morning, and our child woke up at 5:00 a.m. As a Resort Hotel, improving the sleep environment should be an urgent priority. [Dining] To be honest, my overall impression was “convenience-store quality,” which fell below expectations. The salads were the only standout—fresh and tasty—which made the gap in quality with the main dishes even more disappointing. [Bathroom] The provided shampoo is low quality. Our child’s hair is usually smooth, but after drying it became stiff and rough. If you are targeting families, you should reconsider your amenity selection. [What was good] Our child really loved the newly added play area and the nighttime planetarium and enjoyed our stay because of them.

    A great family-friendly Accommodation designed for guests with children

    We stayed as a family of three—my husband, our 1-year-old daughter, and me. She wasn’t quite ready for the full-scale playground equipment yet, but we still had plenty of fun with stimulating activities in the wooden pool and the music room. The meals were delicious with a wide variety of options. The large public bath also had a baby tub available, so we could use it with peace of mind even with a child.

    A great Hotel where kids up to around 4th grade can have a blast.

    We stayed with three children: a 6th grader, a kindergartener (senior class), and a 3-year-old. The two younger ones were completely absorbed in the play area, while our 6th grader spent most of the time at the table tennis corner and in the Forest Lounge’s spacious kotatsu area where you can read manga. Everyone seemed to have a great time. Since it was our oldest child’s birthday, we requested a birthday plate in advance. After finishing dinner at the buffet, we handed the ticket for the plate to a staff member whenever we liked, and they brought it out for us. We expected it to be delivered quietly to our table, but instead it was presented in a way that involved other guests as well—everyone applauded while our child blew out the candles. The birthday child was shy, but thanks to this fun presentation it became a wonderful memory, and we still sometimes rewatch the video and smile. Thank you very much. Since the selection of drinks, snacks, and desserts in the Executive Lounge changes, I highly recommend adding it if there is still an available Plan—it makes the stay even more enjoyable. The Room was also spacious and comfortable. With such high satisfaction at an unbeatable value for money, we would love to visit again. Thank you for taking care of us.

    Recommended for families with children

    There were many families with children, so we felt at ease letting our young child stay here. The Facility and amenities were well prepared for small children, and there was also space where adults could relax, which was great.

    This Hotel is specially designed for families with children.

    Our 3-year-old boy who came with us had a wonderful time. The indoor play facilities are well equipped, and he stayed entertained the entire time we were at the Hotel. There are many families with children, making it a very lively Hotel, so you don’t have to worry too much even if your child gets a bit noisy. On the other hand, for adults traveling without children, it may not feel very relaxing, as the dining areas, baths, and even the executive lounge in the evening can be quite lively with kids. Since there are time limits for using the play facilities and lounge as well as for meal times, I felt it would be better if there were a bit more flexibility to enjoy each service at a more relaxed pace. For better or worse, it felt like a large daycare where you can stay overnight. It’s not really a place for parents to unwind; it’s an excellent choice for those who come expecting a place where children can have fun.

    A Hotel resort mainly for families with young children

    [Facility] Having been rebranded in 2024, the lobby and play areas are very clean and well maintained. Because everything is inside the Hotel, children can play to their heart’s content without worrying about the weather or getting muddy—enough to be happily worn out by bedtime. Also, since it’s all within the Hotel, restrooms are close by, which is a big plus for families with small children. The Forest Lounge on the 3rd floor also has manga available, so guests who enjoy that will likely be satisfied as well. On the other hand, for older elementary school girls and junior/high school students, entertainment options felt limited to things like tennis and table tennis. Our child got really into table tennis, and we had a great time taking turns for about 30 minutes after dinner. We visited the large public bath after 9:00 p.m., so it wasn’t crowded, and we were able to relax in the open-air bath as well. The Room itself was quite different from the Facility areas—still an older style with what seemed like only new wallpaper. The tatami mats were worn (which did make it easier not to worry too much with kids), paint on pillars was badly chipped, and there was heavy mold buildup around the edge of the in-room bathtub. Paying Suite rates for this was disappointing. [Dining] The restaurant has also been renovated and is very clean. The top recommendation is definitely the grilled shabu-shabu made with Koshu Wine Beef—it was excellent. The Koshu miso soup was simple but delicious as well. We were also able to enjoy whole strawberries in season, which was very satisfying. One concern: when we entered first thing in the morning, there was quite a lot of trash under our table left from the previous night, which made it seem like overnight cleaning wasn’t being done. It’s such a shame given how nice everything looks after renovation—and it made me worry about how it will hold up in a few years. [Other] Perhaps because there are many Executive Rooms (about half of all Rooms), the Executive Lounge gets crowded as well; during long holiday periods you likely need to go early or you may not find seating for some time. Compared with the Forest Lounge, aside from alcohol offerings there were mainly Häagen-Dazs ice cream and dried fruit—both tasty but somewhat underwhelming given its name. Overall, operations felt efficient with staffing kept lean; while each staff member was kind and polite, cleaning seemed insufficient at times. Personally, I would have liked more thorough renovation throughout since this was a Suite Room stay.

    It was a very nice Hotel!

    The Room was spacious and clean. The meals were buffet-style with a wide variety of options, and the fresh highland vegetables were delicious. When a large group arrived all at once, the lines became long, so it would have been better if we could have been seated in a separate area from the group. With the all-inclusive plan, we were also able to relax in the lounge.

    The 144 m² room is comfortable.

    Planning a last-minute trip for three generations with kids can be tough, and securing a Room is always a challenge, but we’d been interested in this Hotel for a while. We managed to book it this time—lucky! The 144 m² space was easy to use and very comfortable. Everything we needed was provided, and the B1 kids’ park was great—our child loved it. It would be even better if the opening hours were a bit longer. The Onsen and the lounge were both convenient, and we really enjoyed the delicious breakfast. Among family-friendly hotels, I think this one is truly excellent. We had a great time. We’d love to come again. Thank you very much.

    It was a fun place for children.

    We used this hotel for my son’s birthday trip. Having a large indoor athletic play space was incredibly helpful for an energetic 6-year-old boy, and he was very happy. He was also delighted to find a handwritten message card in hiragana left in our Room—thank you very much. At check-in, I believe we were told something like, “This is our newest family Room,” but it was a standard carpeted Western-style Room with two beds and no chairs, sofa, or table—only one low table and 2–3 cushion-like items placed directly on the carpet. Honestly, it felt like a Room still under renovation where the furniture hadn’t arrived yet. There was a note at the entrance saying to take off shoes there, but having to sit directly on a carpet that didn’t look clean felt very uncomfortable. It may be intended for families with small children, but if there were tatami mats like in a Japanese-Western style Room and cushions set up as a relaxing area, I could understand. This was the first time I’ve seen a Room where you essentially have to sit directly on the floor. The corners of the Room also felt dusty, so I had my child stay on the bed most of the time. Overall, the Room did not feel very comfortable. Also, the stairs leading up to the rooftop area for stargazing gave me the impression they hadn’t been cleaned in months. It’s such an appreciated Facility for families with children, so that was disappointing. The executive lounge was very crowded, but I was happy that we could have Häagen-Dazs ice cream!

    Overall, we enjoyed ...

    Overall, we enjoyed our stay even as adults, but I have a few suggestions for improvement. 1) I couldn’t tell whether the slippers were properly sanitized. They looked clearly well-worn. If disposable slippers aren’t possible, please ensure they are thoroughly disinfected. 2) If guests are expected to take towels to the bath, please provide a bag to carry them. I’d also like a plastic bag for wet towels. Even though you offer lounge service and post-bath drinks, it’s hard to enjoy them when both hands are full of towels. 3) Even though it’s called an Executive Lounge, the snacks selection felt quite limited. When the lounge is crowded, it would be great if takeout were available. Since only guests on floors 5–7 can use the Executive Lounge, it would be nice if it could be located on the 5th floor. 4) The restaurants are split into two areas, and moving between them takes time. I want to eat hot food, but it cools down while waiting in line and going back and forth. I wonder if this could be improved. Please consider these points. Next time, I’d like to bring my grandchildren.

    Executive Room

    Second stay. This time I chose an Executive Room with access to the Executive Lounge. The lounge was excellent. Previously, there was no beer when I visited after dinner, but this time they had local craft beer available. The wine, whisky, and brandy were all delicious. There were also snacks including duck, which was very satisfying. I would like to stay again.

    An Executive Lounge Open to All Guests

    I made a Reservation because I wanted to relax in the Executive Lounge, which is supposed to be available only to Suite and Executive Twin guests. However, people who mistook it for the night lounge came in, and since the gate is just a small plastic barrier, some people simply slipped in from the side. Also, it doesn’t require each person to scan their card—once one person scans, the gate stays open for a while. In that case, it’s easy for others to assume it’s meant to stay open and walk in. As a result, anyone can enter the Executive Lounge, so I felt I could have booked a cheaper Room. The lounge is open until 11:00 PM, but there were many preschool children and infants even after 10:00 PM. It was strange to see lots of very small children running around late at night while adults were drinking. As for dining, the food is split between two separate areas that are too far apart, so by the time you go get something and come back, it gets cold. Breakfast hours also felt very early—despite an 11:00 AM checkout time, breakfast starts at 8:10 AM at the latest. The Room was very clean and well maintained.

    Adults Only Prohibited! A Hotel for Children!

    I have stayed at other Hotels in the same group overseas, but this was my first stay here and I didn’t realize it is a Hotel designed entirely for families with parents and children. Unfortunately, since we were traveling as adults only, it felt completely out of place and was difficult in many ways. The restaurant is spacious, but it gets crowded so you have to wait in line, and although it’s all-inclusive with various alcoholic drinks available, it’s noisy and lively so you can’t enjoy a relaxed drink. If you are traveling as adults only, you may feel out of place throughout the Hotel Facilities, so I think it’s best to keep that in mind during your stay.

    The Executive Twin is correct.

    I stayed with my daughter and two grandsons (boys aged 7 and 4). The on-site activities were simply wonderful, and the kids played from the moment we arrived until just before we left. As it was spring break, it was crowded with families even on a weekday. Check-in was staffed and there was quite a line, but executive guests were given priority. The Executive Lounge—an adult treat—also had an excellent selection of drinks, which we really enjoyed. The buffet dinner offered more dishes than we could possibly try, and everything tasted great. Even my usually picky grandchildren ate an amazing amount, so we were very satisfied.

    Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom

    This was a trip with my grandchildren—one celebrating their 2nd birthday and the other 4 years old. From the morning, both were thrilled with the Facilities on B1 and F3. Even on the second day, despite heavy rain, they played all day and slept soundly. On the third day, they enjoyed the Facilities before breakfast and again after breakfast right up until check-out. I relaxed while admiring Mt. Fuji from our Room. My daughter was also delighted to see the children’s smiles, and we left already eager to come back again. We were happy to see cherry blossoms in full bloom everywhere we went. Thank you for taking such good care of us.
