It was nice to be able to stay at a low price, but…
I have two concerns. First, the air conditioning in the large public bath changing area didn’t seem to be working, and it was far too hot. Even after bathing, I couldn’t stop sweating. I would like better temperature control or the addition of fans. Second, I stayed in an Executive Family Room and found a pair of glasses under the sofa that didn’t belong to me. It was in a spot that should have been noticed with proper cleaning, which made me wonder whether the room had really been cleaned and left me feeling uncomfortable.

Please improve the meals.
The good point was that there is an indoor play area, so the children had a great time. Areas for improvement: dinner and breakfast were not tasty, and the buffet selection was limited. I would like bath towels and washing towels to be provided in the Onsen changing room. The three elevators were far too crowded, and we had to wait quite a long time to go up or down. I don’t think I would use this place for an adults-only trip.

Front Desk Operations
My husband and I booked two Rooms for ourselves and our son’s family. There were many Facilities that children enjoy, and our grandchildren had a wonderful time—we were very satisfied. The buffet selection was extensive, the quality was high, and everything was delicious. The alcohol selection was also excellent, with good-quality options available. One disappointing point was the front desk service when we purchased souvenirs. While I was still putting the change into my wallet after paying in cash, a male staff member called the next guest. Also, although we (the parents) paid, we did not receive an itemized statement for the stay. Since our son checked in separately because we arrived at different times, was it given to him at check-in?

Traveling with My Grandchild
This was my second stay. I stayed about a year ago as well, and the service had improved significantly. The lounge service was also better, with items like duck and cheese served in the evening. Last time I felt that drinking bourbon from a paper cup wasn’t ideal, but that has been improved too, which was great. Above all, this Hotel’s children’s play area is amazing. It has been expanded even further, and my grandchildren were very happy. Thank you very much. I will stay again.

Probably not next time.
Stayed for one night from Friday. We traveled in the afternoon and checked into the Hotel just before 6:00 pm, which was late, and we didn’t end up starting dinner until 8:30 pm. It was crowded on Friday, so we checked in on our phones and were told we would receive guidance, but nothing came. When we asked, they said they didn’t know what time it would be but that they would guide us by 9:00 pm. Since we couldn’t predict the timing, we went to soak in the bath first, and right after that the guidance finally arrived. I understand our check-in was late, but this was my first time having dinner at a Hotel at this hour. If it were adults only, it might be unavoidable, but we were traveling with two children (one older preschooler and one younger), so considering them it was far too late. Also, the Room had a slight pool-like smell and felt unpleasant. Given these points, my wife and I agreed there’s no reason to go out of our way to stay at this Hotel again. We’ve stayed at Grand Mercure in Hamamatsu and Chiba as well, but dinner never ended up being this late there, so perhaps this location was just unlucky. It’s not a particularly high-end price range either, so I suppose it can’t be helped. If you plan to stay here, I recommend checking in early. If you’re sensitive to smells or details like that, you may want to choose a higher-grade Room. Of course, it may simply have been because our check-in was late and we happened to get a smelly Room this time—but I hope this helps as a reference.

Family-friendly travel
The all-inclusive plan was very satisfying for both children and adults. All the staff were kind and attentive, making our 2-day, 1-night stay very comfortable.

The Facility is old, but the staff’s hospitality and service were excellent. The hot spring water was mild and very pleasant.

If you could make Wi‑Fi readily available, I have no other requests.
I stay here for 3–4 nights every time. It’s very comfortable, and I’d like to stay again. However, unlike other hotels where you can quickly enter the details and connect, I end up staying without Wi‑Fi each time. I would really appreciate it if this could be improved. Thank you.

I’ll definitely stay here again.
I’m very satisfied. Since you operate across the whole country, I’ll use your service in other prefectures as well.

I often feel stressed overall.
This was my second stay since it became Grand Mercure, after staying more than 10 times back when it was Yatsugatake Royal. Last time I stayed in a standard Room, and that floor had not been renovated—it felt old, with stained carpets and wallpaper, and even torn sliding doors—so I was very disappointed. This time I chose an Executive Floor Room. The Room itself had been renovated and felt more like a city Business Hotel, but amenities that used to be provided (lotion, drip coffee, mineral water) were not available even in the Executive Room. In name only, it didn’t feel “executive” at all—honestly the Facility level felt like a Business Hotel or even below. Regarding the drip coffee, I asked at the front desk just in case, but no one could answer immediately and I had to wait for a response. They even suggested I go buy it at the nearby 7-Eleven. In the end they brought some to my Room (for some reason decaf), but their attitude felt impersonal and reluctant rather than thoughtful. Even at check-in/check-out there were times with no staff despite this being a large Hotel; when I went to a counter where someone was present, I was told “Please wait—we will call you,” which didn’t leave a good first impression. The lounge experience also felt underwhelming in many ways. There is an Executive Lounge and a regular lounge, but again it felt “executive” in name only—the offerings seemed fairly standard. The Executive Lounge was almost full most of the time; if anything, the regular lounge had more open seating and felt more relaxed. Since I booked an Executive Room I could use the Executive Lounge as well, but because it sits right next to the regular lounge—in an area beside reception where guests from both sides pass back and forth—I honestly felt this way of creating “tiers” leaves neither side with a good impression. Also, access to the lounge is limited to specific hours. In the morning I wanted to have coffee while reading the newspaper, but you can’t even enter during that time. It made me wonder whether this is truly all-inclusive; it felt inconvenient and restrictive. For a resort-area Hotel overall it came across as business-hotel-like—or worse—in its mechanical feel, which was disappointing.

It was perfect for our family with children.
It was our first time using the Executive Lounge, and we were very satisfied. Our child was especially happy to be able to have ice cream. The food was excellent and everything was delicious, with plenty of options that were easy for children to eat. Above all, the well-equipped Facilities such as the play area were perfect for us traveling with a child.

This was the worst Accommodation I stayed at in 2026.
I stayed on the most expensive Plan for the most expensive Room. Even then it was only a little over 100,000 yen, so I didn’t have high expectations—but the “all-inclusive” offering was shockingly poor. First, nothing from the lounge can be taken back to your Room; even coffee is lounge-only. On top of that, calling it a “lounge” is laughable—it’s basically just a few cheap snacks like you’d find at a small candy shop. I usually don’t stay anywhere under 150,000 yen per night, but this time we decided late the night before—“Shall we travel tomorrow?”—so I couldn’t be picky. Still, I wanted the best experience available there, and choosing this was the worst decision. They throw around terms like “executive,” but check-in and check-out were done in a long line on the lobby staircase leading up to the 2nd floor. Normally, if there’s a lounge—or if it’s called a suite or executive—you check in at the lounge or in your Room, right? That’s standard at international luxury hotels. Also, you can’t choose dining times at all, and there is no meal service in the lounge. The food itself was terrible—so low-quality that I honestly couldn’t tell what they were trying to serve us. The whole time I kept wondering what exactly was “all-inclusive,” seriously. The Room had three tiny old TVs that looked like something from early Showa-era Japan; even combined they were smaller than my TV at home, so I stopped watching TV altogether. The bath had a tub less than half the size of mine at home and there wasn’t even a chair—am I supposed to sit on the floor!? As expected (and worse), there were no amenities like toner, emulsion/lotion for face care, or body lotion—nothing. Since I wasn’t expecting them anyway, I used my own (and even if they had provided some, mine would probably have been better). What I learned is simple: I will never stay at any Hotel with “Grand Mercure” in its name again—and I won’t recommend it either. I could write endlessly more things like this, but just remembering makes me feel unpleasant—I disliked it so much that while still staying there we decided where to travel next week instead: an Onsen trip costing 300,000 yen per night with pools, saunas (including stone sauna), and fire pits to relax and recover! It was truly unpleasant. One last thing: The front desk attitude was unbelievably bad. If staff are going to make guests uncomfortable like that, they should just automate everything with machines instead. No one pays money because they want to feel miserable.

First-time guest
This was our fourth Grand Mercure stay, following Ise-Shima, Nagano, and Nasu. We usually focus on sightseeing, but since it rained this time, we made a Reservation mainly for a Hotel stay. Of all the locations we’ve visited, this one had the best kids’ play areas—our 4-year-old daughter really enjoyed it! Meal times were fixed; I think dinner was 90 minutes. With kids, you easily lose 20 minutes just going to pick up their food, so it would be great if families with children could get an extra 20 minutes or so. The one-hour breakfast slot also felt short. The lounge had a separate area that only Reservers of Executive Rooms could access, and the drinks and snacks were better and different from what we’ve seen in other lounges. It would be even nicer if Häagen-Dazs were available at night as well! However, we did see a couple get past the entrance anyway, so I think it would help to have at least one staff member stationed there like a doorman.

The Facility for bab...
The Facility for babies and children was great, and I was happy to see how much our child enjoyed it. The meals were satisfying too, with all-you-can-drink alcohol and a buffet style that my husband enjoyed. However, there weren’t many dishes that suited my taste, so I personally felt a bit disappointed, though the overall variety seemed plentiful. At night, we tried to go to the place open until 11:00 p.m. where you can get drinks and light snacks, but we couldn’t find it and ended up going into the members-only area by mistake. Apparently the space next door was available for us as well, but no staff member guided us there, and we were brushed off by an older male staff member. That was the only disappointing part.

Fireflies
I stayed with my elementary school-aged daughter on the “Firefly Forest Restoration Project” Plan. The staff’s explanations and guidance were courteous, clear, and very helpful. It was disappointing that there were too few hair dryers in the large public bath, and that there was a long line while waiting to be seated for breakfast.

First Stay
We stayed in an Executive Twin family Room. This Accommodation is perfect for families with children. The play area, meals, Room, lounge, and baths are all designed to delight kids, and adults will be satisfied as well. The play area in particular was outstanding. There were two things we noticed: there was no laundry bag, and breakfast is limited to a one-hour time slot, which feels a bit rushed with children. Our child was very happy, and we would like to stay again. We also appreciated that the Room air conditioning temperature was just right.

Kids will be very satisfied.
Since we arrived early, we were able to start enjoying the facilities from 1:00 PM, and it was great because it wasn’t crowded at all! The lounge also had lots of board games, so we could relax and still have fun. Snacks and juice were freely available, and our child was thrilled. We chose a plan with breakfast and dinner included, but it was extremely crowded. With time-slot reservations and so many guests staying there, it couldn’t be helped, but the crowds were a bit tiring. Still, overall it turned into a trip that our child really enjoyed.

The service was disappointing.
No one answers when I call the front desk. Even on a Multiple Night Stay, the meals are the same. The buffet hours are far too crowded; they should properly assign time slots and clear tables once so some guests don’t stay and eat for a long time. There are no seats in the lounge at night; this should also be managed with time slots. Overall, the service is not good. It wasn’t like this at the same Hotel before.

A Wonderful Time for Four Generations
Thank you very much for a wonderful stay. Four generations of our family gathered—my mother and my grandchildren as well—and we spent a truly heartwarming time together. Hearing the grandchildren’s joyful laughter and seeing my mother watching her great-grandchild made it an especially moving experience.

Unbeatable Value Accommodation
This was the best value-for-money Accommodation I’ve ever stayed at! (Highlights) ・The Facility is still new and very clean ・Reasonably priced (All-inclusive with dinner and breakfast, plus all-you-can-drink beer) ・The baths are spacious and spotless (the open-air bath is also impressive) ・The bathwater feels gentle and moisturizing ・Great buffet selection (Includes grilled shabu-shabu with Japanese wagyu and roast beef—everything was delicious) I’d definitely love to stay here again!

The kids’ reactions were even better than we imagined!!
I stayed here with my parents and my younger brother’s family. The kids’ area is very well equipped, so we expected the children to enjoy it—but they had even more fun than we imagined. We stayed for two nights, and they were so excited, saying, “I want to live here!!” The kids’ area is open from 7:00 a.m., and they were already playing there before breakfast (lol). It was wonderful to be able to show my parents how happy the children were, and it felt like a meaningful way to give back. In addition to the kids’ area, there were plenty of other things to enjoy, such as the lounge and the firefly event. We would love to stay again soon—not just next year. Lastly, all of the Hotel staff were always kind and helpful. Their smiles were lovely, and thanks to them we had a great time. Thank you very much.

The Room was clean, but it was disappointing that the sofa cushion where you rest your head felt unhygienic due to oily stains. Overall, including the meals, I felt this Hotel offered good value for money.

We had a great time!
All the staff were so warm and welcoming, and my husband and I agreed it was wonderful. The play area was huge and unlike anything else, and the kids were thrilled—saying “This is the best!” over and over! With the lounge, we really enjoyed it—it even brought back memories of Hawaii.

A Hotel Highly Rated by Children
We stayed as a family of three, including a 3-year-old child. Since we stayed on a Saturday, it was so crowded that there seemed to be no available parking spaces. Many of the guests also appeared to be traveling with children. The Facility offered an especially wide range of kid-friendly activities, making it a dream environment for children. It was also great that the activities were indoors, so we could enjoy them regardless of the weather. We stayed in a Japanese-modern family Room. It was spacious enough for three people. However, we did notice that the air conditioning felt somewhat weak; we only really felt it working after setting the fan speed to high. The Room also had an enclosed veranda area, but it was a bit disappointing to find several spots where dust had accumulated in the ceiling corners like cobwebs. Meals were all-inclusive with unlimited food and drinks, and both the quality and variety were excellent. Although there were some concerns about housekeeping in the Room, overall this was a Hotel with very high satisfaction. In a good way, I don’t think this is a Hotel where adults (traveling with children) can truly relax and take it easy.

A Relaxing Hotel
We stayed as a family of four—my husband, our daughter, and our grandchild. It was very helpful that the kids’ play area was available even before check-in, and we could relax in the Forest Lounge until 1:00 p.m. The Executive Lounge from 3:00 p.m. was amazing! We loved the all-you-can-eat Häagen-Dazs, snacks, and unlimited drinks. At night, we were moved by the breathtaking starry sky from the observation deck. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and everything was delicious. I tried a peach milk smoothie for the first time. Our grandchild was thrilled with the cotton candy, soft-serve ice cream, and shaved ice. Since breakfast is only one hour long, using a cart that could hold two trays made it easy to pick up food efficiently. Both Mori no 8 and the Forest Lounge had plenty of activities and were wonderful. The children’s samue loungewear was also very helpful. We would love to visit again if we have the chance. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

I’ll give you an honest Review. Leave it to me.
We stayed on a Plan with breakfast and dinner included in an Executive Twin Room. The Room was very clean. The meals were a typical buffet style—not amazing, but there was a good variety, which was nice. The large public bath had only one indoor and one outdoor bath, so it felt a bit lacking. There is a sauna, but no relaxation area. There were table tennis and foot reflexology (acupressure), which were fun. One concern was that when the fire alarm went off due to a malfunction, the announcement volume was too low. It was hard to hear not only inside the Room but even in the hallway; if people were shouting in panic, you definitely wouldn’t be able to hear it at all. I hope this will be improved. There is a lounge available to all guests, as well as an Executive Lounge for Executive and Suite guests only. The Executive Lounge had fewer people and a calm atmosphere, which we really liked. Whether we would stay again depends on the price. It’s recommended for families, especially those with small children. For couples, I definitely recommend choosing a Plan that includes access to the Executive Lounge.

Great value for money
For this price, it includes meals and an Onsen. I imagine they’ve put a lot of thought into streamlining their operations. The food tends to be a bit on the salty side, and my 4-year-old even said, “Too salty!”—so I’d be even happier if there were more lightly seasoned options. That said, the variety is impressive. There are many families with children as well, and thanks to the shared understanding, you can relax without feeling self-conscious.
