    First-time visitors might find it enjoyable, but returning guests may feel disappointed due to numerous changes. The most disappointing change is the gourmet bar—it used to be worth around 10,000 yen and was incredibly exciting. Amenities have also been replaced with standard ones, and the tea selection was much better before. Will these downgrades continue in the future? It's unfortunate.

    I had been curious about Fauchon Hotel Kyoto for a while. The reviews were excellent, so I visited with high expectations but also some apprehension, as I've been disappointed before when my expectations were too high. The result? Absolute satisfaction. From the interior design to the staff's hospitality, the room's treats, and breakfast—everything was perfect. At check-in, I was informed that there are shops along the street behind the hotel and that Kawaramachi and Gion are within walking distance. I tried walking around myself—it truly is in an ideal location. I learned that the hotel pumps up well water and processes it hygienically for use throughout its facilities. The water from the tap was incredibly smooth to drink. The room's treats were all delightful! Since this trip was solo, they were all mine to enjoy this time around. Breakfast was absolutely delicious—the omelet fluffy, unforgettable bacon, and corn soup like no other I've ever had before! As a soup lover, I wish I'd also tried their minestrone. Above all else, what stood out most was how exceptional the staff’s service was. It felt like everyone took pride in their work and truly understood what makes a luxury hotel special—I couldn't help but feel impressed. I've experienced subpar service even at hotels costing more than double this one’s price point; however, this time everything exceeded my expectations—it really did. The eco-bag gift featured a winter-themed design—now I have another reason to return during a different season! I'm already looking forward to it. This is definitely a hotel I'd recommend to someone special. Thank you for such an amazing stay!

    Xmas Fashion & Autumn Leaves in Kyoto: Enjoy a Maximum Experience with a 1-Night, 2-Day Trip!

    This was my 7th one-night, two-day stay at my favorite Hotel in Kyoto, where happiness overflows endlessly. After being charmed by last year's Xmas decorations, I adjusted my schedule and plans this year to fully enjoy the "Xmas Fauchon & Autumn Leaves in Kyoto." Since I wanted to explore the Gion area before check-in, I left my luggage at the Hotel in the morning and enjoyed sightseeing with ease. By the time I arrived at the Hotel after exploring nearby areas, I was cold from walking around. The warm reception lounge where I could rest until feeling comfortable again was much appreciated. Within a 10-minute walk, we were able to fully enjoy the autumn leaves at Kennin-ji Temple during their peak season. The excellent location of the Hotel became evident. At night, considering both cold weather and physical fatigue, a taxi was arranged for us to Eikando Temple. However, since it’s just a short walk from Kiyomizu-Gojo Station, returning by train after sightseeing was also very convenient. We took many photos with the Xmas tree and were touched by handwritten comments and illustrations on our card key holder, luggage tags, and even on our room mirror that made us feel truly glad we chose "HAPPY HOLIDAYS Fauchon." Upon arrival, we upgraded to a Kamogawa view room. While resting from fatigue in our cozy room due to cold weather outside, we enjoyed breathtaking views of Higashiyama's autumn foliage during sunset & dawn magic hours as well as sparkling nightscapes while listening to Xmas songs. We couldn’t stop indulging in delicious new vegetable chips and snacks from their gourmet bar—an absolute delight! At night in their bar lounge with champagne served perfectly chilled—it quickly warmed me up but when tipsy exhaustion hit earlier than expected—the thoughtful gesture allowing soft drink bottles brought back into rooms added comfort beyond words. The flower bubble bath booked via official website options exceeded expectations; its sweet wine aroma combined cuteness created ultimate relaxation moments immersed amidst blissful bubbles melting away stress—a heavenly experience indeed! Breakfast featuring steamed vegetables paired beautifully alongside traditional Japanese cuisine provided not only health benefits but also immense satisfaction for both body & soul alike—truly memorable dining experience reflecting Kyoto essence perfectly captured here too! Post-checkout highlights included eagerly anticipated Xmas Afternoon Tea session featuring pink stollen bread alongside chocolate fondue treats marking perfect finale moments spent savoring every bit till departure journey began homeward bound filled w/ cherished memories galore!! Even back home sipping green tea reminiscently evoking “Kyoto Nights” ambiance coupled w/ macarons or cookies shaped like BizBiz purchased directly onsite shop extended lingering joyfulness further making this trip undoubtedly best-ever personal milestone memory closing out year-end spectacularly!

    Following early autumn, we also enjoyed our winter stay.

    I had a wonderful stay here again in December, following my visit in September. The Room had a "Welcome back" message card, and there was also a cute message in the bathroom, which made me very happy. The clean and well-maintained Room was so relaxing that I didn’t even feel like going out. Breakfast was excellent as well; this time, I mainly ordered Japanese dishes. Everything is served freshly prepared, so you can enjoy it at its best. The white miso soup is my favorite! I also appreciated the allergy check when placing orders. With great weather on our side this time, it turned out to be the perfect Kyoto stay. Thank you very much!

    It is truly excellent.

    During my previous visit, I had a wonderful impression, which is why I decided to return this time. The Hotel offers excellent access to Kennin-ji Temple and Gion, and its proximity to the station makes transportation very convenient. The functionality and beauty of the Facility, including the Room, are also remarkable. Additionally, I was impressed by how each staff member's unique personality shone through in their interactions, all of which were delightful. The selection of food and beverages in the club lounge was outstanding, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing time while trying various options. I was touched by the warm message attached to my luggage that I left before check-in and appreciated all the thoughtful gestures extended during my stay. This is truly a wonderful Hotel that I would love to visit again!

    I came with great expectations.

    I had high expectations. The Room was charming, the reception service was satisfying, and the evening cocktail time at the lounge was delicious and enjoyable. However, perhaps due to timing, I found that tea tasted better when brewed at home. The gourmet bar in the Room and breakfast were noticeably less impressive compared to past posts on social media. Overall, I couldn't help but feel a lack of excitement. ... The services for enjoying tea were quite limited. While having Nespresso in the Room, I couldn't help but wonder why this was happening at Fauchon Hotel... which left me disappointed. In conclusion, my expectations for Fauchon's brand image were consistently unmet. At this price range, it feels like there are many other Hotels that could offer higher satisfaction. It has been a valuable learning experience in many ways.

    Excellent hospitality

    The warm and homely atmosphere made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Although my preferred dinner time was unavailable, the staff were very considerate, offering two complimentary welcome drinks exclusive to IKYU and upgrading my Room. I also appreciated the delicious gourmet bar. The stylish Fauchon-exclusive tea was delightful, but having simple Japanese tea (like sencha or hojicha) teabags would have been even better. The bath with a washing area was convenient, though adding bath salts to the amenities would enhance the experience—I happened to bring my own this time. With a checkout time extended until 1 PM, I could fully enjoy a leisurely Hotel life at my own pace.

    Wonderful

    The Room is spacious and cute. There are plenty of desserts at the dessert bar to enjoy. Breakfast is delicious. I ate a lot of tasty bread. The staff are very kind, and I will choose this place again when I visit Kyoto. I bought a lip-shaped cake at the shop on the first floor and enjoyed it in the Room!

    Wonderful Hotel!

    I stayed here during my visit to see the autumn leaves in Kyoto. Recently, I have been disappointed even with top-tier hotels, but this was an exceptional Hotel. The female waiter at breakfast felt a bit cold, but the other staff were lively and provided excellent service. The interior of the Hotel was elegantly decorated with tasteful pink tones. I will definitely visit again!

    Small changes?

    I stay here about once a year, and it has become my regular accommodation when visiting Kyoto. The breakfast menu had changed since my last visit, but the main dishes were quite varied. It was a bit confusing to have steamed vegetables and an omelet treated as equivalent options. Since I stayed with a family member, we could share, but it might be difficult to decide if staying alone. Also, the variety of tea in the room seemed to have decreased, while there appeared to be more snack-type sweets (dry snacks?). I felt that the amenities were adjusted in line with recent trends to avoid waste. I also used the spa service and found it very relaxing. My next visit may be a year from now, but I look forward to staying here again. Thank you!

    The staff's smiles and thoughtfulness were wonderful. There were also snacks in the Room. After enjoying afternoon tea, I was so full that I couldn't try the salmon pie, which I regret. I'll make sure to have it next time!

    A Hotel Combining Excitement and Relaxation

    I stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my sister's birthday. The sophisticated and luxurious atmosphere combined with the excitement of pink everywhere, along with the thoughtful care from the staff and chef, made for a truly wonderful stay. While I would love to share more details, I’ll keep it brief so as not to spoil the surprise for others. The hotel is all about pink, pink, pink! However, it never feels overdone or tacky thanks to accents of black and gold that create a cute yet mature and elegant ambiance. Regarding amenities mentioned by others before: they now ask about them during check-in, which shows an improvement in service. Although we had planned some sightseeing on our arrival day, our room was so cozy—perfectly blending "cute" with "chic"—that we ended up staying in instead. We enjoyed sweets from the gourmet bar in our room while chatting and admiring the furnishings and decor throughout our stay. Dinner was exceptional; as expected from a renowned culinary brand! It featured both unfamiliar ingredients and familiar ones prepared in surprising ways that left us amazed at every bite—it was absolutely delicious. Additionally, during both dinner and breakfast times, there were no other Asian guests around us (including Japanese), which gave us a little taste of Parisian vibes—a delightful bonus! My sister said this experience became a truly memorable one for her birthday celebration. While it was meant to be her special day, I also thoroughly enjoyed myself beyond expectations! Thank you for providing such an incredible time—we can’t wait to visit again!

    Stylish Hotel

    A lovely Room with charming Fauchon pink decor and a well-equipped gourmet bar. The concierge and reception staff were friendly and provided excellent service, which was greatly appreciated. However, one female staff member at the breakfast restaurant appeared unfriendly and expressionless, leaving a negative impression in the morning. Other than that, it was a good Hotel.

    I used to enjoy stay...

    I used to enjoy staying here for Multiple Night Stays due to the charming spa, lovely Room decor, and original sweets provided in the Room. However, during my recent stay, I was not informed at check-in that cleaning services were only available until 2:00 PM. Unaware of this, I placed the cleaning sign on the door before going out, but my Room was not cleaned. The Hotel's response afterward was also disappointing. The Bar lounge was not open during its stated hours, and I couldn't use the free drink ticket either. On a previous visit while enjoying tea time, staff behind the counter were loudly discussing their shifts and engaging in personal conversations—this detracted from what should have been a pleasant atmosphere. In this particular stay's Room alone, there were multiple stains on the carpet and a bathroom door reinforced with layers of tape that prevented it from closing properly. As someone who has enjoyed staying here multiple times before, this experience was disheartening. I hope more consideration can be given to guests' perspectives moving forward.

    From check-in to check-out, I had a truly wonderful time. The staff were all unique and provided exceptional service, making my stay very pleasant. The Room's amenities were more than sufficient for a comfortable stay, and the Hotel's exclusive gourmet bar and original tea leaves added a unique touch that can only be experienced here. Although the Club Lounge is not large in scale, its atmosphere and offerings were outstanding. The original champagne, liqueurs, and delightful food selections were impressive. During my visit, there was an exquisite lineup including beautiful cup sushi with shrimp and colorful pickles in small dishes, hearty sandwiches, blinis with caviar and sour cream, freshly sliced prosciutto from the bone stand, as well as handmade sweets by the patissier—all of which exceeded expectations. The tea prepared by the master was exceptional as well. Breakfast was also delicious with a menu designed to accommodate both those who prefer larger portions or smaller meals—a thoughtful touch indeed. With attention to detail from the staff throughout my stay, I truly enjoyed every moment. This is such a wonderful Hotel that I would love to visit again someday.     I used the Hotel for a friend's birthday, and the staff's response was very courteous. They also cooperated with the surprise, allowing us to have a wonderful time.     The guest rooms were clean, and the service was excellent. The amenities in the Room were tidy, and the provided snacks were delicious. However, the lack of a parking lot was slightly inconvenient, and there was limited space to park in front for unloading luggage.

    Triple rooms are a bit tight.

    We stayed as a family of three using a value plan. I was curious about the extra bed, and while it was squeezed in, the difference from the regular beds was significant, which was a bit disappointing but understandable given the price. The gourmet closet seemed to have more than enough for our group size. Everything was delicious, and we took it all home. I brought my elderly mother along, but unfortunately, she didn’t find anything particularly impressive. When I first visited, I had felt something special like "Fauchon" vibes. Dinner at the restaurant was completely different from room service—naturally warm and fresh. The meat was tasty but overly marbled; lately, leaner cuts are easier for us to enjoy. The staff serving cheese seemed to lack knowledge about it. Since we’re not experts either, we wanted to ask about flavors or whether certain cheeses were strong-tasting but couldn’t get answers—this part was disappointing. That said, overall everything tasted great and left us satisfied. As someone who cannot drink alcohol due to health reasons, having non-alcoholic pairing options would be appreciated. Was adjusting the bath temperature always this difficult? It felt like there were only two options: scalding hot or cold water.

    Perfect for a Girls' Trip

    I stayed with my mother, and the Room was very lovely, allowing us to spend a wonderful time together. We chose the plan with breakfast and dinner included, and the view from the restaurant was amazing, making our stay at the Hotel very relaxing. The dinner was delicious, showcasing the natural flavors of each ingredient. The croissants and omelets at breakfast were outstanding. The shop sells cakes—be sure to try the "Lips" cake! Lastly, regarding the skincare set: it is not provided unless requested. Since check-in is done individually, please ask about it during that process. This could be improved.

    It was a comfortable stay.

    We thought this stylish hotel might not suit us as an elderly couple, but the staff were very kind, and we had a comfortable stay. Thank you for upgrading our room. We were unsure whether to come with friends, but since we stayed as a couple, I was happy to keep the snacks and eco-bag for myself. The staff uniforms are very cute. Thank you so much!

    I was excited to stay at the Fauchon Hotel in Kyoto as soon as I heard about it. Check-in was a relaxing experience with delicious tea and matcha macarons, and the staff provided kind and attentive service, offering a truly soothing Kyoto atmosphere. The Room, decorated in pink and black, showcased Fauchon's attention to detail everywhere. Everyone was thrilled by how adorable the Room was. Breakfast was delightful with omelets, croissants, and chocolate bread that were absolutely delicious. The sweets in the Room were all exquisite—truly living up to Fauchon's reputation. The kids' special treat of cigar ice cream was also a wonderful touch. Both my daughter and granddaughter were very satisfied—thank you so much!

    Love Fauchon Kyoto!

    A space where Paris and Kyoto merge, offering the delights of Fauchon's gastronomy and aesthetics. The deliciousness and excellence I felt were thanks to the warm smiles and thoughtful care of the Hotel staff, which brought me comfort. This was my second stay, and each visit makes me love it even more. The bedding is among the best in Kyoto's many hotels, providing a soothing experience for a restful sleep. The round Shigaraki bathtub allows you to stretch your legs and relax fully. Every dish at the lounge was delicious, perfectly complementing drinks. Breakfast by the window with a panoramic view of Higashiyama included freshly baked croissants and omelets—pure satisfaction! Fauchon Kyoto shines with impeccable taste in every detail. Recalling my stay fills me with happiness. Thank you so much to all the staff for your exceptional hospitality. I eagerly look forward to visiting again!

    I used the lounge, and both the content and quality were excellent. They served freshly sliced prosciutto on-site, along with Kyoto-style obanzai dishes. The desserts were authentic, and the matcha tiramisu was particularly delicious. Breakfast was also tasty and befitting of a gourmet Hotel. Points for improvement: - The TV remote control was difficult to use (it took time to switch channels). - The shower water pressure was weak. - The gourmet bar had fewer options than expected (based on past social media posts, it seemed more extensive before...).

    As a reward for my hard work in the first half of the year, I stayed with a one-night, two-meal plan. In conclusion, it was a wonderful stay. The entrance had a special and elegant atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant, and the room was adorable. The dresser in the room was stocked with plenty of delicious-looking snacks, making it hard to decide which to try first. I was surprised that there were not only Western-style sweets but also Kyoto-inspired selections, which added to my delight. I traveled alone but was guided to a lovely seat with a night view during dinner and enjoyed chatting with the staff—it made for an enjoyable evening. Breakfast the next morning wasn’t buffet-style; instead, dishes were served as they were prepared fresh, allowing me to enjoy them at my own pace—completely satisfying! If I had one request, it would be regarding the vivid colors of the room decor; any scratches on furnishings tend to stand out more prominently because of this. Regular repairs might enhance its charm even further!
