    Cleanliness, well-equipped amenities, and attentive staff.

    The entire Hotel was clean and very comfortable. The amenities were thoughtfully selected, appealing to women, which made me happy. I didn't know I could use the MUJI café, so I would like to try it next time. The staff's service was also very polite.

    Thoughtful attention to detail

    This was my first stay at this accommodation. I arrived feeling exhausted from the heat and crowds, but as soon as I entered the hotel, I was greeted by a pleasant fragrance, and the clean and comfortable room immediately put me at ease. I was assigned a spacious room with a large sofa where I could relax. The separate bath and toilet allowed me to wash up leisurely in the washing area before enjoying a relaxing soak in the large bathtub with bath salts. The drawer at the sink contained thoughtful amenities like hot eye masks, foot sheets, and bath salts that helped relieve travel fatigue. As part of my Diamond Member benefits, I received a skincare set, water (which they kindly replaced when informed that I don’t drink alcohol), and delicious nuts—these gestures made me very happy. The three-sided mirror near the window by the TV provided bright lighting for makeup application—a great feature! There were two bottles of room-temperature water on the sink and two chilled ones in the refrigerator—perfect for staying hydrated during this hot season. It was evident that every detail of this room was designed with guests' comfort in mind—it truly felt like an excellent space to stay in. The location is also ideal for visiting Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, with convenient access to nearby facilities such as FamilyMart next door and a local supermarket across the street—great for picking up snacks or any necessities during your stay. All staff members were warm-hearted with kind smiles and provided attentive service throughout my visit, making it an incredibly comforting experience overall. Thank you very much!

    We stayed during the hydrangea season and had a wonderful time. The calm atmosphere allowed us to relax. Above all, the staff's hospitality was exceptional. The location was close to our destination, allowing us to move at a leisurely pace. We look forward to staying again in the future. Thank you very much!

    Prime Location

    Clean and simple interior design, without unnecessary luxury but not too plain, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The Hotel is in a perfect location, making it an excellent base for sightseeing in Kamakura. The garden terrace is lovely, offering privacy from outside views. I enjoyed a solo beer garden break during the day and a nightcap in the evening. One minor downside was that the bed felt slightly short; at 176cm tall, my feet would touch the edge of the bed when lying with my head on the pillow, which was a bit uncomfortable.

    It was truly relaxing!

    As soon as we entered the Hotel, the pleasant fragrance and cool interior instantly made us forget the heat. Its close proximity to Kamakura Station made sightseeing, dining, and shopping very convenient and enjoyable. My two friends and I even talked about how we didn’t want to leave. The staff provided exceptionally polite service. We would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you very much!

    Everything was excellent!

    The staff's service during check-in and check-out was exceptionally polite, and the Facility and Room were of outstanding quality. The breakfast was also incredibly delicious! I will definitely stay here again when visiting Kamakura.

    If you’re sightseeing in Kamakura, this Hotel is an excellent choice. We only stayed for one night, but we’d love to stay for about two nights and fully enjoy Kamakura.

    The front desk and the room were spacious and clean! There were plenty of conveniently located outlets, which was very helpful. The amenities exceeded expectations and were well-stocked! The sliding door between the entrance bathroom and the bedroom helped block outside noise, which was great. On the other hand, breakfast was a bit underwhelming. While it’s nice that they offer menu items from MUJI Diner in Ginza, I wished there were more variety. It would be great if the bread and desserts could be upgraded. Additionally, having a few more types of MUJI curries besides butter chicken would make it even better. I look forward to staying here again during my next visit to Kamakura!

    It was comfortable.

    The room was compact, but the bathroom and toilet were separate, and the layout was very user-friendly and comfortable. It is conveniently located near the station and close to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, allowing for a peaceful early morning visit—a wonderful experience. I would love to stay here again.

    A wonderful place!

    This is my go-to accommodation when visiting Kamakura. First, the access is excellent. A clean hotel with a wonderful staff who maintain a perfect balance of attentiveness and respect for privacy. Previously, I had an issue with my reservation due to my own oversight, but they handled it graciously, for which I am very grateful. The rooms are cleverly designed within the limited space and provide a relaxing atmosphere. The toilet and bathroom are separate, the sink area is spacious and convenient to use, and amenities like eye masks, foot sheets, and bath salts are much appreciated. The sliding door that separates the bathroom/sink area from the bedroom is also a nice touch. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that I'm personally not fond of the scent in the entrance-to-front desk area; it could be removed entirely or made milder or changed to another fragrance for improvement. I look forward to staying here again!

    Conveniently located with excellent accessibility

    The Room has steps as mentioned in other Reviews, so we were cautious during our stay. The amenities felt a bit lacking, especially towels; adding hand towels would be appreciated. The bathroom is Japanese-style and very convenient to use. Above all, the location is excellent—close to the station and perfect for sightseeing. There is room for improvement, but I would like to stay here again next time.

    Conveniently located near the station

    Conveniently located near the station. However, the Hotel entrance is situated far from the station, and the front desk is at the very back on the second floor, making it a bit hard to find. The Room was user-friendly, but the area with a sofa is slightly elevated, which could cause tripping. The TV was difficult to watch from the bed. It was nice that the toilet and bathroom were separate. The breakfast tables were too small, making it hard to eat comfortably. Switching the locations of side dishes and salads might make it easier to serve food. Overall, it was a clean and comfortable Hotel. I would like to stay again!

    The location was excellent, and I enjoyed my stay. The separate-type Room allowed me to relax comfortably. However, the rice served at breakfast felt hard and lacked flavor (perhaps due to the type of rice).

    Comfortable Room and Service, Conveniently Located Near the Station

    Close to Kamakura Station and right in front of the approach to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, with famous shops within walking distance. The staff provided excellent service, and the Hotel is modern and newly designed. The Room features a separate bath area with a chair and bucket, making it very convenient to use. All amenities were excellent. One suggestion would be to provide towels for handwashing in the toilet area of the Room. In the lobby restroom, having a sound system for privacy (like "Otohime") would be appreciated, as well as improving accessibility for paper towels and ease of use for waste disposal boxes.

    The bath feels just like home.

    The bathroom had a washing area like at home, which was surprising. There were a bath stool and washbasin, and of course, the bathtub was spacious. Next to the bathtub was the washing area where you could sit on a stool and take your time washing your body, just like at home. It’s very rare for a Hotel to have an independent washing area in the bathroom. Thanks to this setup, I could relax thoroughly. The amenities were also excellent, including basic skincare products from the Sekkisei set and even warming eye masks. However, the Hotel entrance was hard to find. I wandered around with my suitcase trying to locate it. The distance from the elevator on the front desk floor to the lobby was also quite far and confusing to navigate. Additionally, the luggage storage area was tucked away and located at some distance as well.

    No major complaints. Everything was delicious. However, it would be great if you could offer a wider variety of bread. Additionally, we would appreciate more options for side dishes that pair well with the bread.

    I reserved through IKYU as a Diamond Member, but the room on the 2nd floor faced a busy alley with poor soundproofing, allowing even conversations of passersby to be heard, making it difficult to sleep. Since people walk right below the window and it feels like someone could reach the window ledge by jumping, it may not feel safe for female guests. The service level and breakfast are comparable to a Business Hotel, so if you can avoid being assigned a 2nd-floor room, it might be worth the price. However, being placed on the 2nd floor feels like a punishment (the alley across has a garbage collection point for nearby residents; depending on the day of collection, this could make things worse—I noticed this when I opened my curtains in the morning). For those who consider hotels reserved through IKYU (excluding Business Hotels) to meet certain standards, this might fall short due to potential assignment to undesirable floors. While other reviews are positive as well, please take this as just one perspective.

    This is my third visit.

    This is our third stay. We usually visit as sisters, but this time we stayed as a couple for 2 nights and 3 days. My husband was very satisfied with the clean Room, well-equipped amenities, excellent service, quiet and calm environment, and the fulfilling breakfast. Due to heavy rain, we had dinner at MUJI on the first floor of the Hotel and enjoyed a delicious meal. The staff at MUJI were also very pleasant, making it a stress-free experience. Poor service can really ruin a trip with unnecessary stress, but after three stays here, we've never had any unpleasant experiences. When we visit Kamakura again, we'll definitely choose Metropolitan Hotel. To all the staff members: Thank you for taking care of us!

    This was my first time staying here, and I opted for a Multiple Night Stay with different room types. I was very satisfied. First of all, the location is excellent. It’s right near Kamakura Station and in front of the second torii gate, making it very convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and dining. The room had just the right amount of space, was functional, and easy to use. The bathroom was spacious with an easy-to-use faucet system that made it comfortable to use. If I may add one suggestion—it would be nice if there were a bit more space around the sink area. The only downside is that being so close to neighboring buildings and a convenience store made it feel like people could see into the room from outside when opening the curtains—but this is understandable given its prime location. Kamakura has become quite crowded with tourists lately; even calling taxis through apps or at taxi stands didn’t go as planned during my visit. However, when I asked at the front desk for assistance, they kindly helped me arrange transportation smoothly so I could reach my destination without any issues—and they even followed up later to check if everything went well! This level of care was greatly appreciated. On the second day, unfortunately, we encountered rain that turned into a storm during our sightseeing trip—but thanks to this conveniently located hotel near the station and their preparation of our room at our desired time upon return—we were able to rest comfortably until the weather improved without much trouble caused by bad weather conditions! Thanks to all these factors combined—even amidst unpredictable weather—I had an incredibly enjoyable trip overall! Thank you so much for your hospitality; next time I visit Kamakura again—I’ll definitely choose this hotel once more!

    Super convenient!

    Arrived around 1:30 PM and planned to leave my luggage, but surprisingly, the Room was already prepared. I was quite tired, so I could take a rest in the Room. The Room wasn’t very spacious but was bright, clean, and had a bath with a washing area. It was also nice to relax and enjoy the view outside from the raised seating area. However, you need to be careful when stepping up there as it can be dangerous. The next day, since the weather was great, I took a walk to Hachimangu Shrine during some free time. It’s also very close to Toyoshimaya for souvenirs. Even after check-out, I could leave my luggage and use the restroom—truly appreciated all these conveniences! Thank you so much!

    A hotel I would like to stay at again.

    This is my third stay at Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura. The room I stayed in was a Superior Twin with large windows, featuring a cozy space by the window equipped with a sofa, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The food at MUJI CAFE on the first floor was also delicious. I would definitely love to stay at this hotel again!

    From check-in to check-out, everything went smoothly without any issues. The front desk staff were very polite and accommodating. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The breakfast at the MUJI Café offered a great selection of Japanese dishes, making for a delightful start to the day. After checking out, they kindly stored our luggage, allowing us to fully enjoy sightseeing in Kamakura on foot. Our 1-night, 2-day stay became a truly wonderful memory.

    Close to the station

    The best point is its proximity to Kamakura Station and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. I think it’s the best Hotel for sightseeing in Kamakura. The building is new, and the elevator arrives without waiting, which was also great. It was nice to have a chair and bucket in the bathroom washing area as well.

    Perfect for sightseeing in Kamakura.

    This is my second stay at this accommodation. Conveniently located near Kamakura Station and in front of the approach to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, with many dining options nearby. The front desk staff are very kind, and it’s a relaxing place. I would love to stay here again during my next visit to Kamakura.     A Hotel You'll Want to Visit Again

    We enjoyed our 3-day, 2-night trip to Kamakura once again. The summer uniform (Aloha shirts) was cool and lovely, but the March uniform worn by the front desk staff was elegant and complemented their smiles beautifully. This Hotel is exceptional in terms of hospitality, cleanliness, and convenience. The Diamond benefits are also very appealing and greatly appreciated. We look forward to visiting again in a different season!

    We truly appreciate the thoughtfulness of the reception staff. They promptly accommodated our early arrival, allowing us to check in smoothly. Additionally, they kindly stored our suitcase during check-out, enabling us to enjoy sightseeing (such as the Great Buddha of Kamakura and Hase-dera Temple) comfortably. The lobby front had a pleasant fragrance, was clean, and gave a sophisticated impression of the Hotel. Breakfast was a delicious buffet at the MUJI café on the first floor.
