    Stay at the Metropol...

    Stay at the Metropolitan Kamakura for one night with a great Plan: check-in at 6 PM and check-out at 10 AM. The sophisticated design throughout the hotel is so impressive that even elderly family members might get lost, and the minimal yet perfectly provided services ensured complete relaxation in a short time. Highlights include separate bath and toilet, numerous charging desks in the lobby, a coffee machine with take-away options next to it, high-quality mugs and tea sets in the Room, and incredibly kind staff. There were so many things I loved that I didn’t want to leave! Thank you for your hospitality. I look forward to visiting again!

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    It was my first time visiting Kamakura, and the excellent location, service, and meals made for a very comfortable hotel stay. The luggage storage before check-in was smooth, allowing us to head out for sightseeing right away. In addition to being close to the station, its proximity to major attractions like Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine was incredibly appealing. This time, I used IKYU for the first time to make a reservation. Since there was a limited-time offer to experience Diamond Member benefits, I enjoyed an upgraded room, an amenity set with smoked nuts and Kamakura beer as part of the service—such delightful surprises! Everything tasted great. The room had a clean atmosphere with separate bath and toilet facilities—a feature I really appreciated. The loungewear was comfortable and came in a separate type design which added convenience. The amenities in the room were particularly impressive; from hot eye masks and foot relaxation sheets to bath salts—it felt like luxury at its finest! This level of detail truly stood out as my favorite aspect of the stay. The MUJI Café breakfast buffet was another highlight that appealed greatly as a fan of MUJI products—I had been excited about it since making the reservation! It exceeded expectations with delicious options like mixed rice dishes that left me fully satisfied. Overall, this experience went beyond my expectations—I’m so glad I chose this accommodation! Thank you for such wonderful hospitality! Although everything felt perfect overall, if I may suggest improvements: having a large public bath would have been nice or perhaps expanding the lineup of welcome drinks in the lounge could enhance future stays even more!

    It was amazing again!

    Every March and September, I visit Kamakura for a three-day, two-night stay. I always choose the same type of room when making my reservation. This time, due to heavy rain in the morning causing traffic delays, check-in became crowded and took longer than usual. Additionally, on the first night, I was disturbed by noise from the neighboring room until late at night, which was disappointing. As I already experience noise issues at my current residence, this trip was meant to be a healing getaway; thus, it affected me even more deeply. Since the noise didn’t seem to stop, I contacted the front desk late at night. They responded promptly and sincerely, allowing me to rest peacefully afterward—thank you very much for that. At check-out as well, there were comments regarding the noise issue noted in their records; this attention to detail left a strong impression on me. The accommodation is impeccably clean both inside and out. While I often use Hotel Metropolitan properties overall, this particular hotel stands out with its unique charm and character. Considering its location in Kamakura, details like summer uniforms (Aloha shirts) from Kamakura Shirts are an excellent touch. The nuts from Kamakura Smoked Foods and local craft beer are also delicious. I hope you continue coming up with creative ideas to delight your guests in future stays!

    A Hotel with meticulous attention to detail.

    The moment I entered the hotel, there was a wonderful fragrance, and the courtyard was a relaxing and beautiful space. The staff greeted me with smiles every time I passed the front desk, making my stay very pleasant thanks to their warm hospitality. Since I have children, I had requested in advance for two beds to be joined together. Not only were they simply pushed together, but they were also covered with a large sheet that wrapped both mattresses seamlessly without any gaps between them. This thoughtful arrangement was something I'd never experienced before and it truly moved me. Thank you for your kind consideration and attention to detail knowing we had children with us. I opted for breakfast included in my stay, and everything was delicious! There were so many tempting options that I ended up trying a little bit of everything. It was such a satisfying start to the day! This is by far the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. For anyone staying here, I highly recommend choosing the breakfast option. The time spent at this hotel became one of the highlights of our trip. I'll definitely stay here again when visiting Kamakura!

    We arrived a bit early, but the staff warmly welcomed us with kindness and attentive service, which left a great impression. The Room was clean and well-maintained, with an excellent selection of amenities. The cooling sheets for tired feet and hot eye masks were especially appreciated after walking around. The location is very convenient, being close to the station, which made our trip comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast was served buffet-style with an impressive variety of options. We were delighted to try local ingredients like Kamakura vegetables and shirasu (whitebait). We would love to visit again!

    Hospitality is five-star Hotel!

    We stayed for one night as a mother and daughter. Although we arrived about 30 minutes early, we were guided in order and allowed to check in. The room was a Garden Twin Room, not very spacious but offering an open view of the expansive garden, which was delightful. However, there was one aspect of the room that my daughter and I found uncomfortable, so we consulted with the front desk. Honestly, I thought nothing could be done and had given up, but the hotel made a suggestion to ensure our comfort during our stay. We were both surprised and very pleased by their effort. Thanks to this, we were able to relax fully and enjoy a comfortable stay. About a week before staying here, we stayed at a five-star hotel in Tokyo; however, I felt that the hospitality here was on par with that level of service. At checkout as well, it was clear that information had been shared among staff as they apologized again for any inconvenience caused—this added extra points for us! The location is excellent for sightseeing in Kamakura, and all staff members—including those at the breakfast venue—were friendly with warm smiles and provided attentive service throughout our stay. I would definitely love to stay here again! Thank you so much for everything this time around!

    The staff provided excellent service.

    Located just a 2-minute walk from the station and close to Komachi Street, this Hotel is incredibly convenient! The staff were very polite, provided thorough explanations, and greeted us warmly every time we passed by. Their kind words and constant smiles made it easy to ask questions. Truly wonderful people—thank you so much! However, due to its proximity to the station, there was significant motorcycle noise from around 10 PM until about 3 AM. The loud revving sounds echoed into the Room even with all windows closed, making it difficult to sleep. While this is not the Hotel's fault, it was disappointing amidst such beautiful surroundings. The air conditioning in the Room initially struggled to cool down the space, which was a bit uncomfortable in warm weather. The coin laundry was very convenient and allowed us to pack light! There are also convenience stores like FamilyMart and 7-Eleven nearby as well as a supermarket and drugstore. Plus, there's a MUJI store on the first floor of the Hotel—perfect for those traveling light! We added breakfast during check-in but later felt it wasn’t worth it for ¥3,000 per person. It didn’t match up with how luxurious it looked in photos; I personally found it underwhelming for that price point. If you enjoy MUJI’s packaged curries or deli items though, you might find value in adding breakfast. Overall though, this Hotel had some of the best service I’ve experienced recently—it left me truly impressed! Our Room on the top floor offered stunning views as well. I’d love to stay here again next time!

    During the typhoon, we entered the lobby a little early, but the front desk staff kindly assisted us right away, allowing us to enter our Room. We were very grateful. The Room was clean, and my wife was very pleased. The location was also very convenient as it was close to Kamakura Station. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

    Highly satisfied

    I always stay at this accommodation when traveling to Kamakura. This time, as it was my birthday month, I stayed as usual and was pleasantly surprised with a birthday gift during check-in. This is a hotel I definitely want to continue using whenever I travel to Kamakura.

    Convenient location.

    This was my first time staying here, and the location is absolutely perfect. It’s close to Kamakura Station, with convenience stores and drugstores nearby that stay open late, which was really helpful. The Room was clean and had a fresh feel, and the bathroom setup with separate bath and toilet was very convenient. The view from the Room faced the back of the Hotel, so I could see a gym across the way, but since I wasn’t in the Room much during the day and closed the curtains at night, it didn’t bother me at all. The staff managed check-in smoothly even during busy times to avoid confusion, which I really appreciated. I would definitely love to visit again!

    Always a satisfying stay, no matter how many times you visit.

    We look forward to staying here as a couple several times a year. First, the convenience is excellent— close to the station, near the sea, shrine, and tourist spots, with a convenience store right next door. Truly convenient! The Room is compact and efficient without any wasted space. It’s clean, and we enjoy relaxing by filling up the bathtub with hot water. This time, we noticed that the showerhead had been upgraded; the stronger water flow made it even better. We’d love to stay again for our wedding anniversary in winter. Lastly, thank you to all the kind and pleasant staff members as always!

    It was a comfortable stay.

    The Hotel was in a great location, much closer to the station than expected, making it very convenient. Especially during the extreme heat, being able to return to the Room frequently for a shower and some cool air was invaluable. The extra towels and mineral water provided were also much appreciated. We made full use of the laundry room as well. Its proximity to both the sea and mountains allowed us to enjoy both. Additionally, being in the city center meant we had no trouble finding places for meals or shopping. The Hotel's custom-made shop map provided in our Room was very helpful too. It had been a while since our last visit to Kamakura, but we had a comfortable stay as a family and would love to visit again during more pleasant weather conditions.

    Excellent location, but cleanliness needs improvement.

    The location was extremely convenient. The Hotel staff were pleasant. However, the guest room had some issues: stains on the bed cover, an uncleaned area behind the wall-mounted TV, mold-like spots in the bathroom tile grout, and an odor from the drain in the open-connected washbasin to the bedroom. It seemed like maintaining room cleanliness within limited time and staff was challenging. While such matters can depend on individual perception and luck, it felt a bit unfortunate for such a good Hotel.

    This is my second stay due to the location and cleanliness of the hotel.

    Close to Kamakura Station, a clean and comfortable hotel. I was very satisfied during my first stay, so this was my second visit. This time, it was a multiple night stay. I booked through this site with breakfast included and got a great deal. The hotel's atmosphere is pleasant and very clean. It's a hotel I would like to stay at again. Since it was a multiple night stay, the breakfast buffet menu was almost the same every day, which was slightly disappointing. Other than that, it was an excellent accommodation experience. During my previous stay, there was a service introducing nearby restaurants; however, there were no such introductions this time—perhaps it was a limited-time service? It’s an excellent idea as I visited one of the recommended restaurants during this trip. The taste and service quality were great! I hope they bring back such initiatives in the future!

    It was a highly satisfying Hotel.

    Although I did not use any unique services of this hotel, the room's spaciousness, cleanliness, and amenities like the coffee server made it so comfortable that I wished to spend a relaxing day inside the hotel apart from sightseeing. When visiting Kamakura again, I would definitely like to stay here. Since it's relatively close, I even think it would be worth coming just for the accommodation.

    Garden Twin

    I had the opportunity to stay in the Garden Twin, a room I had always wanted to try. The room was spacious and comfortable with no particular complaints. From the garden, you can catch a glimpse of Nino Torii and enjoy views of low mountain ranges as shown in the attached image, offering an unexpectedly open atmosphere for being in the city center near the station. However, while I didn’t see it myself, my companion mentioned spotting something resembling a cockroach running across the deck while enjoying Kamakura beer in the garden after sunset. Since it is an outdoor natural space despite being part of a building, caution might be necessary (especially at night). Additionally, having a MUJI store on the hotel’s first floor was very convenient. The café on the first floor where breakfast is served also has MUJI's signature woody simplicity, with greenery from Wakamiya Oji visible through its windows creating a resort-like ambiance. Overall, I am extremely satisfied that I finally got to stay in this long-anticipated room!

    The best Hotel I've ever stayed at!

    The Room I stayed in was spacious, with a large-screen TV and plenty of amenities—there's nothing to complain about, only praise. On the first day, due to a tsunami warning, the train didn't go to Kamakura, and I had to wait for a taxi at Ofuna Station for five hours before finally arriving at the Hotel past 10 PM. I was warmly welcomed, which helped me feel at ease. I will definitely stay here again!

    Stay-in Time

    I stayed for one night on a Thursday in late July. Kamakura is a place I often visit for a quick day trip when I want to refresh, but since I hadn't been able to go at all this year and had never stayed overnight despite it being only about 30 minutes from my home, I decided to take this opportunity. When making the reservation, I planned to relax in the room, and on the day of my stay, the extreme heat made it difficult to go outside. So, I got some snacks, drinks, and dinner as takeout and spent a lazy time in the cool room. The view was nonexistent as curtains were necessary due to visibility from outside; however, there were no noises from the hallway or neighboring rooms, allowing me to spend my time peacefully. What I especially appreciated was having both a room key and an additional card key for electricity so that even when going out briefly, the air conditioning remained on—returning to a cool room was such thoughtful consideration. Additionally, after checking out when I realized I'd left my cardigan in the room and went back to inquire at reception, they handled it with care which made my entire stay pleasant until the very end. I’d love to visit again during a more comfortable season!

    That's unfortunate.

    Dinner location is a 15-minute walk, and walking 15 minutes back after eating is tough. Breakfast was buffet-style NUJI, but it felt unbalanced with the hotel's prestige. Please provide a more hotel-like breakfast in a calm and relaxing space with better taste.

    The raised seating a...

    The raised seating area was a nice touch for relaxation. The bath with a washing area was good, but if we consider a high-quality Onsen Ryokan as 5 stars, this would be around 4 stars. Also, I wanted to order the MUJI chicken curry from the first floor through room service, but it wasn't available, so I purchased it from the FamilyMart next door instead.

    Enjoyed summer in Kamakura.

    This is my regular accommodation in Kamakura, and I made a reservation to coincide with the Kamakura Fireworks Festival, but unfortunately, the festival was canceled. Although the hydrangeas were over, I was able to see the lotus flowers at Komyoji Temple. Kamakura has many restaurants that are hard to visit all at once, but I tried a new restaurant and also enjoyed fresh shirasu rice bowl. Next time, I would like to visit Kamakura during the autumn foliage season.

    Blissful Moments

    Stayed with my daughter for sightseeing in Kamakura. There are delicious bakeries and breakfast spots nearby, which was very satisfying. Although we didn’t have meals at the hotel this time, I’d love to try the MUJI Cafe breakfast next time. The room was stylish with well-thought-out facilities like partition doors. However, the space to open suitcases was limited; we ended up opening one near the entrance and another between the sofa and TV, which felt like a slight waste of space. The amenities were excellent! The hotel had a pleasant scent that was very relaxing. The staff were kind and wonderful as well. I would love to stay here again. Thank you!

    This was my first stay at this accommodation. I arrived feeling exhausted from the heat and crowds, but as soon as I entered the hotel, I was greeted by a pleasant fragrance, and the clean and comfortable room immediately put me at ease. I was assigned a spacious room with a large sofa where I could relax. The separate bath and toilet allowed me to wash up leisurely in the washing area before enjoying a relaxing soak in the large bathtub with bath salts. The drawer at the sink contained thoughtful amenities like hot eye masks, foot sheets, and bath salts that helped relieve travel fatigue. As part of my Diamond Member benefits, I received a skincare set, water (which they kindly replaced when informed that I don’t drink alcohol), and delicious nuts—these gestures made me very happy. The three-sided mirror near the window by the TV provided bright lighting for makeup application—a great feature! There were two bottles of room-temperature water on the sink and two chilled ones in the refrigerator—perfect for staying hydrated during this hot season. It was evident that every detail of this room was designed with guests' comfort in mind—it truly felt like an excellent space to stay in. The location is also ideal for visiting Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, with convenient access to nearby facilities such as FamilyMart next door and a local supermarket across the street—great for picking up snacks or any necessities during your stay. All staff members were warm-hearted with kind smiles and provided attentive service throughout my visit, making it an incredibly comforting experience overall. Thank you very much!
