Experience the "Yuragi" at a Hotel in Ura-Kusatsu, just a short distance from Kusatsu Onsen's Yubatake.

A 3-minute walk from Yubatake, this Hotel is located in the heart of the newly established "Ura-Kusatsu," a new landmark. The concept of the Hotel is "1/f Fluctuation." "1/f Fluctuation" refers to the harmony between regularity and irregularity. Like the rhythm of a human heartbeat, this non-constant rhythm, found in various natural elements of the world, brings a sense of comfort to the human mind. The flickering flames of a bonfire or hearth, the flowing motion of water, the rustling sound of trees, and the swaying lanterns as you stroll through the twilight of Ura-Kusatsu. Savor the fluctuation and enjoy a moment of healing.

  • I was finally able to visit “Ura-Kusatsu Tou,” a place I’d been curious about for a long time.Located in the Ura-Kusatsu area, just a short distance from the bustle of Yubatake, the moment you step inside you’ll find a beautifully curated space where traditional craftsmanship and modern design come together.Every corner of the Accommodation is picture-perfect.From interiors accented with traditional crafts to warm, inviting lighting, you can feel the attention to detail throughout. It was an Accommodation with a calm atmosphere—perfect for an adults-only getaway.Relax from the core with “Jizo Gensen”The greatest highlight here is, of course, the Onsen fed by “Jizo Gensen.”Among Kusatsu’s many hot spring sources, “Jizo-no-Yu” is said to be rare due to its low output. Its gentle feel on the skin and subtle milky hue were wonderfully soothing, and I could truly relax from deep within. Not only in the large public bath but throughout the building, there are thoughtful touches that create a sense of gentle “sway,” making it feel as if everyday fatigue simply melts away.Dinner and breakfast were served in a serene dining space. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious enough to make you happy with each bite.Breakfast also felt luxurious: colorful small plates lined up alongside freshly cooked rice.An Accommodation where you can fully enjoy both the Onsen and the cuisine—I left completely satisfied in both heart and stomach. The Room was spotless and comfortable—functional yet designed with a calming Japanese aesthetic. The staff maintained just the right level of attentiveness; thanks to their courteous service, my stay was pleasant from start to finish. It had been some time since my last visit to Kusatsu Onsen, but this trip helped me rediscover its charm all over again. This wonderful Accommodation lets you experience both the excellence of Jizo Gensen and modern comfort at once—somewhere I would love to return again.

  • This was my first stay here, and my impression was, “What a wonderful Accommodation in Kusatsu!”The wooden architecture—and the lobby filled with wood—created a world I absolutely loved. The atmosphere reminded me of the Starbucks in Dazaifu, and I honestly wanted to stay in the lobby all day.The Room felt open and airy, and it was very clean. This time we booked No Meals Included, so it’s a shame we couldn’t enjoy the meals. The large public bath uses hot spring water from Jizo-no-Yu as its source, and the sulfur scent made it even better. In the morning, I had that spacious bath all to myself. We also used the scenic private bath for an additional fee.Kusatsu has many historic traditional inns, so being able to stay No Meals Included feels refreshingly modern—and I never expected to find such a lovely Accommodation at this price.Jizo-no-Yu in front of the Accommodation was relatively uncrowded as well. There was an interesting “face bath,” but when I looked closely… there was some mold, which was a bit disappointing. I felt it would be nice if someone could clean it daily. All of the staff were kind and helpful.I’d love to visit again.
