“Sawando” means “a place where rivers come together.” In December 1998, an Onsen was brought to this area, long used as a gateway to Kamikochi, and Sawando Onsen was born. Our inn opened five years later, in July 2003. Surrounded by mountains with nothing else around, Keiryuso Shiorie warmly welcomes you.   • An Accommodation that satisfies you in every way.

    After visiting Kamikochi, three friends and I stayed here. It’s a 10-minute walk from Sawando Bus Terminal. After arriving, we fully enjoyed the Onsen— the large public bath, meals, the private bath, and the open-air bath in our Room. The free-flowing private bath and the open-air bath in our Room were exceptional. Both dinner and breakfast featuring local ingredients were delicious, and there was also a great selection of drinks.The Room was thoughtfully appointed with local furniture and tapestries, a massage chair, a Dyson Airwrap dryer, and many other touches that made our stay comfortable. What impressed me most was how impeccably clean everything was. From the garden on arrival to the baths and guest room, everything felt fresh and serene, making our time there truly relaxing.This has become an Accommodation we would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

[From Kanto Area] Approximately 32 km from Matsumoto IC on the Nagano Expressway via National Route 158 towards Kamikochi. Travel time: about 50 minutes.
[From Kansai/Nagoya Area] Approximately 70 km from Hida-Kiyomi IC on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway via National Route 158 towards Matsumoto. Travel time: about 1.5 hours.

■ By Public Transportation
1. From JR Chuo Line Matsumoto Station, take the Matsumoto Electric Railway Kamikochi Line to Shin-Shimashima Station, then transfer to a bus bound for Kamikochi (40 minutes). Get off at Sawando Bus Terminal and walk for 5 minutes.

2. From the bus terminal in front of JR Matsumoto Station, take a direct express bus to Takayama (65 minutes). Get off at Sawando Bus Stop and walk for 5 minutes.

3. From Takayama Bus Center in front of JR Takayama Station, take a direct express bus to Matsumoto (80 minutes). Get off at Sawando Bus Stop and walk for 5 minutes.
