Otari Onsen Okunoyu Amakazari-so

We stayed for one night on a trip to Nagano. The location was so deep in the mountains that at first we wondered if there really was an Accommodation out there, but we were relieved to arrive safely.In addition to the indoor bath, there was also an outdoor hot spring (a “wild” bath), and we used both—they were wonderfully relaxing. The Facility itself seemed old, but it was kept very clean.The meals were just the right amount, and everything was delicious. Since I’m pregnant and avoiding raw fish, the staff kindly offered to switch it—suggesting fried chicken—which was very helpful. Next time, I’d love to try the char sashimi raw.My husband also said it was the first time he’d stayed at an Accommodation where every dish was this good, so we’d like to visit again in a different season and enjoy more of the料理.

I initially thought it might be a bit far to travel from Togakushi, but they prepared a boxed breakfast for our early-morning departure and also allowed us to settle the bill the day before, so leaving early the next day was very smooth. At dinner, I tried iwana (char) sashimi for the first time; all the other dishes were delicious as well, and we really enjoyed the sake. There is a public open-air bath just a few minutes’ walk away, but this Accommodation’s open-air bath had better views, and it was wonderfully refreshing both for body and mind. Thank you very much.
