    Comfortable Journey

    The room environment was very comfortable with a plush sofa and a spacious bathtub. Upon entering the room, I found canelés, which were incredibly delicious. The staff were very kind and provided advice, such as how to use the open terrace, to ensure a comfortable stay. What impressed me the most was the deliciousness of the meals. The flavors were beyond imagination, combining the best of Japanese and French cuisine, resulting in an unforgettable taste. During breakfast, I ordered a smoothie, which felt like drinking fresh fruit and was a flavor I had never experienced before. I am grateful for the wonderful time I had. Thank you to all the staff. I look forward to visiting again in a different season.

    Everything was excellent.

    This was my first stay at Fufu. I had a comfortable experience with no particular complaints. It was very helpful that requested items and skincare products were promptly delivered non-face-to-face via phone. The yacon tea was delicious! Additionally, the staff's hospitality was very polite. All the meals were absolutely delicious as well.

    Wonderful!

    The price was reasonable, and it was a wonderful experience. The Japanese-French dinner, in particular, was exquisite. Although I usually find French cuisine too strong in flavor, this one was light and brought out the natural taste of the ingredients. This was my first stay at a Fufu brand accommodation, and I would like to stay at another Fufu to explore the differences. As for the bath area being a downside, it’s because the blinds could only be adjusted via the bathtub area, which might be inconvenient for women. It’s almost impossible to see from outside though—right?

    Dreams Come True

    We stayed at Fufu Karuizawa, an accommodation we had always wanted to visit, as a couple. From check-in at the lounge to the room, onsen, and breakfast, it was an overall highly satisfying stay. The highlight was definitely the onsen. While the washing area is compact, the bath itself allows you to stretch your legs comfortably. The water temperature could be adjusted to our preference by requesting at the front desk, allowing us to enjoy it multiple times. Being semi-open-air eliminates concerns about insects entering, and the stone sauna was incredibly relaxing as well. Additionally, since this trip was for my husband's birthday, we received a thoughtful gesture during breakfast. The warm service truly made us happy. We would love to visit again!

    Disappointing!

    Upon arrival by car, staff did not check the guest list or greet us, so we had to introduce ourselves before being directed to the parking area. It seems they use a system where luggage is picked up from the parking lot with a cart, leaving a disappointing first impression. At dinner, our server was a foreign staff member who seemed to have memorized phrases word-for-word; their explanation of the meal was so unclear that it was hard to understand if they were even speaking Japanese at first. The most disappointing part of the meal was that it ended with dessert only—no petit fours or coffee/tea as expected for the final course of such meals. Not even coffee or other beverages were served at all—perhaps because it’s "Japanese French"? During breakfast, explanations about dishes were incomplete and often given after we had already started eating. Overall, we were left disappointed by the quality of service throughout our stay. The staff's professionalism falls far short of what one would expect from a luxury hotel! We will never stay here again.

    Had a wonderful vacation.

    To avoid the summer crowds, I combined my company's summer vacation with a weekday after Silver Week at the end of September and stayed at this accommodation with my mother for two nights. Since Karuizawa has become overly commercialized with numerous hotels, we chose this accommodation for its quiet and relaxing atmosphere, as well as its focus on quality in both meals and room standards. Our room was a Junior Suite, featuring a spacious layout with calm-toned interiors. The wooden flooring was beautifully maintained, making it comfortable to walk barefoot. The private open-air bath attached to the room was also very pleasant in terms of temperature and overall comfort. Every detail in the room reflected thoughtful care. The meals were especially outstanding during dinner time. Despite our multiple night stay, we were served different menus on both evenings. The chef's sense of style could be seen not only in the sauces but also in the choice of serving dishes and presentation, allowing us to enjoy truly wonderful moments. The staff members, including the woman who served us during meals, were extremely polite and attentive throughout our stay, making it an enjoyable experience overall. I definitely look forward to visiting again soon!

    2-night stay

    I stayed for two nights with my daughter. I requested a smaller portion for my dinner, and although it looked similar to my daughter's meal, it was indeed a smaller portion and delicious enough to finish completely. The breakfast on the first day was quite large, even too much for my daughter to finish. However, the breakfast on the second day was surprisingly well-portioned compared to the previous day. After each meal, there was a confirmation of meal times via tablet input, but it seemed like this information wasn't carried over properly as I had to repeat myself multiple times, which felt inconvenient. The Room had an indoor bath and a stone sauna for detoxing as explained; however, I couldn't fully enjoy using the stone sauna. On the morning of our departure, I found an instruction leaflet about using the stone sauna in a file containing terms and conditions. While it's understandable that guests should check such files thoroughly, placing instructions in more noticeable areas like near sinks or towels might be more helpful.

    It was an excellent accommodation in every way.

    The accommodation exceeded expectations with its cuisine, room, facilities, and hospitality. It is one of the accommodations I can recommend to anyone. The warm and attentive service was exceptional, making me want to stay at other accommodations in the Fufu series as well.

    Excellent

    I have stayed at accommodations in this chain several times, but this was my first time in Karuizawa. The room was clean and comfortable, with a sofa to relax on and surrounded by trees, allowing for a peaceful and fulfilling stay. Although I had only tried Japanese cuisine before, this place offers Japanese-French cuisine. I was initially worried as I'm not fond of French food, but my concerns were unnecessary. They kindly omitted ingredients I truly dislike, and even ingredients I usually avoid were prepared so deliciously that it became one of the best dining experiences I've ever had at any accommodation. The service was excellent, making it an accommodation I can recommend to anyone and would love to visit every year or even every month. Thank you very much!

    Thank you for hosting us for a 1-night, 2-day stay. Although I hadn't informed you in advance that I was pregnant, you kindly addressed it during check-in and even adjusted the meal options on the same day. The dietary restrictions were thoroughly considered, allowing me to enjoy both breakfast and dinner with peace of mind. The portions were satisfying even for men, and everything was delicious. The Room was comfortable, and the bath was clean and very pleasant. The service that allowed us to request towel or drink replacements without face-to-face interaction was also very helpful. Thank you for creating such a wonderful memory before my delivery.

    Overall, it was good.

    Overall, it was good, so I have no complaints, but here are my thoughts: - The Hotel is located along a national road and the surrounding area is not ideal for pleasant walks. It doesn't really give off the "Karuizawa" vibe. - The Hotel building has outdoor corridors, and while the interior is nice, it feels simple and not very luxurious. It gives the impression of a former corporate retreat that has been renovated with some updates to the interior. - The staff are doing their best; however, during dinner service, one of the staff members was a foreigner with very limited Japanese skills. Their explanations were hesitant and basic, making it seem difficult to ask detailed questions about the dishes. Their language level felt similar to that of a foreign convenience store clerk. For these reasons, I don't think I'll visit "Fufu" again in the future. There were no issues or dissatisfaction per se; it just seems like this Ryokan/Hotel group operates with this kind of stance or concept overall.

    Perfect for families with small children!

    It has been three years since our last stay at another Fufu accommodation. The previous location was so wonderful that we decided to make a reservation for Karuizawa this time. From the time of the reservation, the staff showed great consideration for our small child. On the day of our stay, their attentiveness towards our child was exceptional, especially during meals when they made efforts to keep our son entertained by engaging with him every time they served a dish. This made him very happy and left us impressed with their dedication, comparable to staff at a certain dreamland theme park. The stone sauna and onsen, along with tea and other offerings, were incredibly beneficial for my body. I felt as though toxins were being released from my system—experiencing symptoms like runny nose, improved metabolism leading to sweating profusely, and even vivid dreams—all contributing to a sense of detoxification. Thanks to this experience, I feel rejuvenated even after returning home. The amenities provided were all high-quality as expected; my wife particularly loved the body gel and purchased it as a souvenir. Additionally, Nagano's delicious fruits and juices added an extra touch of delight. As we approach seven years of marriage, this trip allowed us to create wonderful memories together as a family while finding peace both physically and mentally. Thank you so much for your exceptional hospitality! We look forward to staying at Fufu accommodations again in the future!

    It was a satisfying stay.

    This accommodation, which I initially thought was more suited for younger guests, turned out to be enjoyable even for seniors like us. The service quality varied depending on the staff. The staff member who checked us in and guided us to our room seemed inexperienced and spoke with noticeable uncertainty, but the staff who attended to us during dinner provided excellent service, making our meal very enjoyable. Since the national highway is nearby, opening the window lets in traffic noise; however, keeping it closed creates a serene and quiet atmosphere. The location does not offer scenic views outside, which slightly affected our satisfaction level. Both dinner and breakfast were satisfying. As always with this group of accommodations, their unique creative cuisine never fails to impress diners. With this visit, we have now stayed at all accommodations in this group except Nara. Each facility has been consistently delightful and met our expectations; we look forward to visiting Nara when an opportunity arises!

    A Relaxing Hotel in Karuizawa

    The lounge and room are well-lit, with plenty of plants providing a relaxing atmosphere. The room was quiet, with no noise from the surroundings or footsteps, allowing for complete relaxation. The Japanese-French cuisine was meticulously prepared and delightful, especially the appetizers which were intricately crafted. The yogurt sorbet dessert was also truly delicious. It was an excellent hotel experience. Next time, I would love to stay for Multiple Night Stay and enjoy the Healing Forest as well.

    A one-night, two-day summer vacation in Karuizawa after a long time was truly satisfying.

    We stayed here for a two-day summer vacation and had a wonderful experience. After enjoying shopping at the outlet mall in the morning, we headed to the hotel. Overall, my family and I were extremely satisfied with our stay. The room was the Fufu Luxury Premium Suite (Twin), which was spacious enough that we didn’t use the lounge much and enjoyed relaxing in privacy. The bath was also highly appreciated by my wife and daughter, who thoroughly enjoyed it along with the stone sauna. As for meals, while we expected some unique flavors, we were pleasantly surprised in a good way. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, featuring local ingredients that left us very satisfied. The IKYU Diamond Member services were excellent as well, including drinks and souvenirs. For three people, an extra bed was provided but it was comfortable enough for proper rest. The main beds offered exceptional comfort too; both my wife and daughter slept soundly through the night. Next to the hotel is a glass art workshop where you can try crafting experiences—this could be a great addition before or after your stay at the hotel. While there are minor points that could be improved upon if scrutinized closely, they didn’t detract from our overall satisfaction. If you haven’t stayed here yet, I highly recommend giving it a try at least once. Thank you for making this summer vacation so memorable!

    A Relaxing Hotel in Karuizawa

    I usually stay at hotels in the Old Karuizawa area, but this time I tried Fufu for the first time. It exceeded my expectations and was excellent, so I would like to return or try Seiyou no Mori next time. - **Room** The design has a natural resort feel with thoughtful touches for relaxation, such as indoor balcony sunlight, potted plants, and aromatic scents at the entrance. Complimentary items in the fridge include soft drinks (apple and grape juice), two beers, two bottles of mineral water, and various teas. There is also a SodaStream available (though I didn’t use it). - **Onsen** This was my favorite part of the stay. The bath features transported water from Tateshina Onsen with a large tub, bright bathroom with windows equipped with blinds, stone sauna facilities, and a portable TV tablet usable inside the bathroom. It was so comfortable that I ended up bathing three times during my stay! - **Amenities** Aromatic amenities that I personally liked were provided along with all basic necessities like makeup cleansing products. Comfortable loungewear is available for use even during meals—this was very convenient—and separate pajamas are also provided. - **Meals** Dinner featured Japanese-French cuisine that was visually delightful as well as delicious. Breakfast included unique dishes such as mushroom soup, Japanese-style plates, and refreshing morning curry spiced just right—all outstanding in flavor! Each table had an assigned staff member who served each dish at perfect timing (thank you!). - **Facilities** The atrium allows you to relax on sofas while enjoying drinks under natural sunlight streaming through large windows. Although it was too hot to enjoy much of the courtyard this time around due to summer heatwaves; there are sofas & tables outdoors which seem ideal for relaxing during milder seasons. With fewer rooms overall within this accommodation facility itself feels calm & serene throughout your visit. Staff members were kind yet maintained an appropriate distance offering professional service without being intrusive—a balance that felt very comfortable. - **Other Notes** This trip we stayed as a couple traveling by car; however since shuttle service isn’t offered currently ensuring access between station-to-hotel might make solo stays equally enjoyable given private counter spaces facing courtyards where meals can be savored quietly alongside ample opportunities indulging peaceful alone-time back inside cozy rooms themselves! Thank you again for taking care of us during our stay—we look forward visiting again soon!

    The service was not as good as expected. Although dinner was reserved for 7:00 PM, the food was served late (around 7:20 PM), and the staff's forced smiles felt unpleasant. Since the hotel is new, the facilities were excellent.

    Relax and unwind.

    Fufu Karuizawa Yoko no Kaze was my first stay, and it exceeded my expectations as a satisfying accommodation. The staff, including the one who attended to us, were polite yet friendly. It was very comfortable. The lounge and rooms are filled with greenery, providing a relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed both French and Japanese cuisine, which were delicious. It was truly rejuvenating. I would definitely like to stay at this accommodation again!

    What seems to be the issue?

    This time, I made a reservation through IKYU.com instead of directly with the hotel. At check-in, I was informed that "a complimentary drink will be provided during dinner." However, the butler was unaware of this. Is it acceptable for hotel staff not to be informed about such details? Additionally, at check-out, I was told that "a souvenir will be provided." This was stated as a Diamond Member benefit worth "3,000 yen equivalent," but it was not given. Furthermore, the check-out time had been changed without notice. As someone who frequently uses your hotel services, I am deeply disappointed by this experience. It is regrettable that the conditions listed on IKYU.com were not properly communicated to your staff.

    It was my first visi...

    It was my first visit to Karuizawa in a while, and I had a relaxing and enjoyable stay at Fufu Karuizawa Yoko no Kaze. The garden trees are still new and small, but I look forward to seeing them grow in the coming years. I traveled by car, but the entrance sign was hard to spot, so I accidentally passed it.

    Even before check-in, I was bombarded with messages and had to adjust my plans to fit the Hotel’s schedule, which made it hard to relax. Not worth the price.

    I had a relaxing time on the terrace!

    We were upgraded to a better Room! The Room was lovely with lots of plants. The meals were very delicious, and we were extremely satisfied. As expected from Fufu! We enjoyed drinks on the terrace and had a relaxing time. The only concern was that the scent of the shampoo, conditioner, and body soap was too strong for our liking. Everything else was wonderful. Thank you very much!

    Last-Minute Reservation

    Despite the last-minute (day-before) reservation, we had a comfortable stay. It was a stay with my son and his spouse, and we were able to relax. We took an early morning walk and enjoyed the fresh air of Karuizawa.

    Highly Satisfying Accommodation

    The hospitality is exceptional. The cuisine is outstanding, especially the mushroom hot pot served at breakfast, which is exquisite. The only downside is that being close to the roadway means you can hear passing cars while bathing, slightly disrupting the atmosphere. However, this accommodation provides a level of satisfaction that far outweighs this minor drawback.

    Highly Satisfied

    I love Accommodation Fufu, and this time I visited Karuizawa. Right after arriving, I asked about another accommodation unrelated to Karuizawa, and the staff in charge of dinner kindly and politely responded. They also promptly brought a blanket when there was an issue with the air conditioning that couldn't be resolved. The service was excellent—thank you so much! Dinner had a rich flavor and was very delicious. At first, I thought the portions might be small, but by the end, I was completely full. Everything was delicious! For breakfast, I personally loved the mushroom hot pot broth—it was outstanding. I thought it might not be possible to exchange bath towels at a certain time, but when I placed them in the box for replacement, they were exchanged immediately—I was truly impressed! Even during departure, they saw me off until my car disappeared from view; every staff member's hospitality moved me deeply. I’m planning to make another reservation soon!

    Inspiring, moving, and unforgettable.

    My daughter-in-law recommended this place to us. We visited with my mother-in-law, who is over 90 years old. The Room, bath, and lounge were all exceptional—everything was "absolutely satisfying." We were especially touched by the thoughtful gesture of providing a care chair for my mother-in-law in the bath. The meals were also outstanding! We kept saying, "This is so delicious," over and over again. As an IKYU Diamond Member, we received special hospitality that moved us even more. This is a Hotel we would love to visit at least once a year.
